What about dark assault? There is soooo much out there that they don't have to create a darn thing. Using Smite, Gloom, touch of fear, Midnights Grasp and Siphon Life as well as the powers from Ghost Widow. There is so much for them to choose from. It would be the easiest assault set to make.

There has to be a reason it hasn't been done but what is that reason?
Time. These things take time to develop and refine. Even Earth Assault took a while to refine (some would say too cautiously, a lot of the potentially cool powers like Fissure and Mud Pots got pretty gutted) and that was pretty much rehashed powers to a large extent.
And with Dark it's the sort of thing which should probably get Dark Control first before Dark Assault.

It's distinctly average and very late-blooming. Especially compared to the other debuff sets (well Cold is also late-blooming but Cold is nastier in terms of what debuffs it has as well).

Stone/DA sounds like a nightmare in terms of End Management.

My DM/WP is probably the most unkillable character I have, especially once he gets going. He survived Sigil and 2 other Lost Bosses whaling on him, conning as +2s (I missed the Pariah and Sigil in the spawn) without any Insps in his mid-20s. Single-target damage is sick too (and you can shore up AOE damage with the Mu APP).

They ignore Enhancements & Buffs though, was thinking of maybe slotting for it & Psi Resist in Foresight.

But after a few levels, it was gone. At first I thought it was dependant on number of teammates, but that proved false.

So what gives? Why did my Resistance vanish?
Is it the scaling resistance which goes up as your Health falls? (although I though it was Foresight which provided that).

*Edit : Yes, it seems to be. See here. This power and Foresight both provide it.

End Recovery / End Reduction, at least until you get into the 20s and get both Stamina and Consume (which you want ASAP). My Stone/Fire was the most horrific burner of End I've ever come across.

Building Fury can be difficult too since a lot of your attacks are slow to recharge (but quick to animate) and a lot of the time your enemies are wandering around stunned or getting off the ground. So two quick-recharging attacks (Stone Fist and Air Sup for example) are a good idea. By the same token lots of recharge in the mallets & Seismic and/or lots of Global Recharge is good. Means those heavy hitters recharge quicker, as does Healing Flames. If you can get some Slow Protection IOs or bonuses then do as well, -Recharge debuffs do evil things to a Stone/Fire Brute.

Lastly be aware that Burn doesn't play well with Fury, if you look at Mids the damage listed there when you've got high fury is incorrect. This is because Burn takes 10 seconds to put out that damage, but the inherited damage from Fury only sticks around for the first 2 seconds.

So Recovery and Recharge are good.

Nope, other than the across-the-board "Pets now have a fixed recharge" change I mentioned in your Ill/Storm guide. Also Imps now spawn at -1.

Neither change is particularly noticeable on my Fire/Rad though.

    It rocked
  11. Pets & Pseudo-pets no longer benefit from Recharge bonuses. This means Set IOs with Recharge in them won't make Lightning Storm or Phantie shoot faster. By the same token LS won't benefit from Hasten or any other Recharge boosts who have when running. In PvP I'm fairly sure Toggle Dropping has been abolished.

Epic Power Pools have been boosted and have 5 powers in each now. You can get the details on the Red Tomax site which now lives on The Titan Network

As for the OP, I wouldn't be citing that as an example of a good quality kids show. If you'd gone with The Fraggles or Sesame Street I'd be in full agreement.
  13. My friend was at this, with his 4 year old son. The son was dressed as Batman (and looks well cool), my mate was dressed as Robin (because he's a weirdo).

I, for one, am happy to see ya back.

I agree. Ages ago I wrote an Illusion/Storm guide myself EU side. Then one day I went onto the US boards and I read Tals and went "damn it!!". Everything that needed to be said was said in Tals in a much better way than mine. So I let mine slide into obscurity (and wrote a Grav/TA one instead).

Welcome back Tal_N and thanks for the guide*
  15. Would sticking the "Does not stack from same caster" flag onto Rage fix the double-rage no-crash issue and make the set perform more as designed and remove the issue?

I still maintain the best answer was the one someone else had earlier. Add 4 new servers to the US list, call them the same names and do a blanket copy of everything that's on the EU servers. Then close the EU ones down. As the meerkat says, simples.

That way, no one loses any access, badges, accounts, anything. The ONLY issue I can see is in a globla name conflict and that can be sorted with either a rename or a EU adding to the end of it. Give players the choice. I can't even see it affecting the RP players either as my understanding is that it's the toon that they RP, not the account.

Hell, I'd even be happy to have a few days/a week off from the game while they implement it. Ideally, it shouldn't take too long as it's just a transfer of data which they can obviously access already, but even if they needed to transfer the dtata physically, I'd be happy to wait!

Come on, people, you know it makes sense!
That'd be my preferred option too, but it's a shedload of work. I'm not sure the NCSoft bean-counters would be impressed by such an expense.

    or

Give everyone with a EU account a free NA account on the same NCSoft Master Account and make Vet rewards apply to Master Accounts - heck give everyone with an NA account a free EU one too.

    or

Something else, anything. Just please stop ignoring the problem until all the EU players have gone.
This. The third option would be good, give us the option of paying one fee and gaining access to both sides of the pond, an Account merger rather than a server list one.

EU to US transfers would also be great.

That was just an example. There's lots of things they could have announced for purchases of the full EU package and announced it in parallel with the GameStop announcement which wouldn't have affected exclusivity.

Instead nada, and Avatea has to post another "We're looking into things for you" post. Thats poor management and poor PR (not on Avs behalf, but on those formulating and coordinating these campaigns).

I certainly can't see any reason for a potential new EU player to purchase an EU version of the game.

By the same token this announcement can hardly have taken them by surprise, it's obviously a preplanned marketing and development campaign,

So how come there's nothing in place already to act as compensation / an alternative to EU players?

It's obvious that such an opportunity is great for the game in the US, but why weren't any parallel plans for the EU also formulated and announced at the same time? Even if they were as simple as "These IOs will also be available to any EU player purchasing or pre-purchasing GR directly from our store".

Instead the EU gamers get "jam tomorrow, maybe"
  21. The subtitle of this forum gets more and more bitterly ironic with every announcement, doesn't it?

I'm sure Av, War Witch or Black Pebble will be along in a couple of days to tell us any concerns have been "passed along" to whomever or whatever they all report to (/dev/null I'm guessing )
  22. They're PROCs with DO levels which stop working at 20?

Meh, that's alright so. Thought you were going the Dragon Age route where you got as-good / better items from spending cash / pre-ordering than you get live.

Standard practice nowadays but I'll order when it goes live thanks.
  23. I was going to suggest Grav/TA as I agree with you, it's a very solid combo. But you've beaten me to it

Out-of-left-field suggestion is the Controller I made US side : Plant/Emp.

Totally different to my other 3 controllers (Illusion/Storm, Fire/Rad & Grav/TA) and excellent on teams. Very early control and you feel like you're really contributing to teams (something which Grav/TA can lack if the team is steamrollering I found).

Yes you've to buff a fair bit but it's kinda neat and a bit different. Plant means you can confuse things, lock them down and keep up with buffing without feeling dedicated to it or enslaved by it.

Or an Illusion/Stormie. They're not like Grav/TA in any way really but you do get some excellent off-the-wall control and lots and lots of chaos. Very different from the usual Controller style of play
  24. The tool falls over sometimes. PMing a Mod (Ocho or Av) or sending a Petition usually does the trick, someone goes over and kicks the hamster cage.
  25. Remove the -ToHit from Twilight Grasp and stick it into Dark Servant. In fact try and max out his -ToHit, he does tonnes of it.

Take Tar Patch much earlier. The -Resist in it is much more useful than say the Damage boost from Assault.*

Take Fearsome Stare earlier, in the early 20s. It's that good.

Howling Twilight is a godly power. It's not just a rez, it's an autohit AOE stun as well and a decent -regen for dealing with EBs and AVs. The fact it brings people back to life is almost incidental.

Personally I'd leave Assault and Tactics off until the 40s and get the AOE controls & Tar Patch instead. They're incredibly useful.

    * Don't be afraid of frankenslotting IOs either. -ToHit/Recharge IOs are excellent in Fluffy (Dark Servant) and dirt cheap usually. You can have a perma-Fluffy who floors things -ToHit by slotting a few of them. His Heal is also the Defender version (he's the Defender version in general) so he works well in terms of healing any pets who are near him (Demons like melee). Summoning DS in the middle of a spawn means any pets who close to melee are basically well protected, especially once you Fearsome Stare and Darkest Night them too (and then dump Tar Patch on them). Then you can focus on whipping things and basically be untouchable and things will be taking 60% more damage (75% if you've got Assault running too).
