In keeping with childish responses... Nicky started it!Waah waah waah, I'm telling on you!
Seriously though... All I did was point out to the OP that he really shouldn't be surprised by some of the responses in this thread, given how past history has shown they always go bad. Nicky decided to jump on me for that, and I don't take that from ANYone.
Shadowe's quite right... Generally I'm a nice guy, but sometimes things/people rub me up the wrong way, and then I get stroppy. So I'm human, sue me.
He's also right about the attitude difference between farmers and RPers. We leave people alone, they... don't.

Ye are responsible for Cat Girls though! That's a black mark!
But as you said yourself elsewhere it takes but a second to click Decline Team and stick em on the Ignore list to deal with them (Fill requests that is, not cat girls. A pond and a sack with a few bricks in it is needed for Cat Girls)

Please please please shut the [censored] about farming, we get it, you dont like. But some of us do and some feel its needed to get what we want from inventions. I dont tell you not to RP.
If you dont want farming tells, add as such it to your search comment. Just shut about farming, you have no need to be in this thead. Go be annoying somewhere else.

Make me.
As long as I stay within the rules of the board, I will post anywhere I feel like it. Don't like that? Go tell someone who actually cares.
[/ QUOTE ]
What a very grown-up response!
You wouldn't like non RPers people spamming the GG and RP threads with off-topic stuff about how sad RPers are would you? It'd be nice to show the Fillers and Farmers the same respect. -

At the moment I'm trying to resist writing up a co-op DA revamp, as hinted at in the original post(s), just so I could have a TF with even more huge totems and some of the BP gods at the end

*pokes Valk with a stick*
DO IT!! DO IT NOW!!!
I've been wanting that for about 18 months now! -
You can do it when you Respec, its a long-running bug in the game, Mids is just replicating what you can do ingame.
You can do the same with the Lobster powers when respeccing too -
Great ideas beautifully detailed. I'm tempted to click Notify Moderator just so GR in the US can go "hey guys, look at this" (hopefully he will anyway)
I'd love this to be added to the game, especially now the CoH/CoV divide is weakening.
(Edit : Oooh, and a giant oversized Totem AV. Are you deliberately trying to scare the pants off me Valk? I hate them things!) -

They get a keg of beer too, but it has to be held in trust until they ding 18 years
Edit: Heya Carni! Hope the USing goes well

It's alright. I'll be on this side hopefully Friday night though playing my squidy. -

It occurs to me that any possible version of the nemesis system might not work if you didn't have access to both games.
Also depending on how the player-created content is planned to work, an inability to design either villain or hero ATs might be a drawback.
Having said that, the thing that might be most hampered by players not owning both games is the updated base raid system; bases were originally CoV only.
Whatever the reason: Yey for the promise of new content!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oooh! Wytchie!! *waves* -
I'd much prefer them just to port Traps to be honest. I'd miss Acid Mortar (you've that Sonics thing but it looks less useful than the Mortar), Poison Gas Trap and Tripmine too much.
And Triage at level 35? Yuck. Not overly impressed with Smoke Grenade or the Cloak field either. Do you need both a +stealth and a -perception power in a set? -
[ QUOTE ]
Again, I say unto you, Coralax!

Yep, I'd agree with this. All they seem to do is pick fights with Arachnos and other groups in zones.
Although the Shaper AV is one too, but the mish he's in is stuffed full of Freakshow cultists. -
Bridger was abducted by the game design section of NCSoft. Last we saw of him he was being stuffed into a straitjacket and some electrodes were being implanted into his skull.
GR overthrew Kerensky a few months ago in a bloody coup and took control of the English bits of the boards (I miss K, he was the sort of malevolent dictator you could trust). -

Other Pantheons getting in on the Incarnate action. No-one should let the damn Olympians be the only ones with shards of themselves walking around Midgard. Uh....Earth.
[/ QUOTE ]
Other Pantheons other than the Banished? Like the Dimensional-door-shut-on-us-and-we-forgot-our-keys Pantheon? Or the We-were-on-the-way-to-your-dimesion-but-took-a-wrong-turn-and-got-lost Pantheon.
I approve! Mission could involve finding a transdimensional road map for them, or a mission to check under the dimensional doormat for a spare key for the Locked-Out Pantheon.
The Banished do have the scarest bosses in the game IMO, those totems scare the bejaysis out of me. Only Devoured come close imo. -

There are two patents that this thread proves would both make me independantly wealthy:

2. A way of stabbing people in the face across the internets.

Well I have been going on about it sporadically for about 15 months now.
The Banished gods would be the most likely ingame candidates for something like this (but Flitz's guess is bang on), a bit of an homage to Lovecraftian mythos.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I think Striga, or possibly Blood Bay, would make a better backdrop for a Lovecraftian story arch. Lovecraft isn't about zombies shuffling around in a mist-shrouded graveyard, but about dark secrets and a twisted, perverse and inhuman realities underlying what we think of as the real world.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well it was the Banished themselves (ie the gods) I was thinking about as candidates more than their shuffling corpse minions but yep Bloody Bay would be a good place for it. Or maybe an island off Nerva.
Of course the hero body count would have to be higher than the enemies or it just wouldn't be proper Cthulhu (a la the RPG) -

For a future issue do you think it would be a good idea to really turn it on it's heel?
How about either:
1) The Rikti win the war, and in a future issue we the heroes and villains are fighting as an insurgency force trying to reclaim the planet.
2) We win the war and we are now on the Rikti homeworld, all new zones on that world, trying to destroy them completely.
3) Humanity turns on the super beings, heroes and villains are forced to ally in order to survive.
I know it would take a lot of effort and a BIG issue, but I think it would really be fun, and turn the game on it's head.
[/ QUOTE ]
None of the above! I'm sick of Rikti by now.
A nice magical threat a la a group raising something that Should Not Be would be what I'd like next please.

Think how much fun the story writers could have fitting words like gibbous, eldritch and noisome into the mission descriptions! -
"remove yourself from my thread"
*falls off chair laughing*
It's not "your" thread any more than its mine or anyone elses. You're the OP, nothing more. Anyone can post on it, as long as they stick to the forum rules.
(Actually its probably NCSofts thread since the 1s and 0s are in their database) -
Ironically the first thing that happens when the Rikti invade a zone is they switch off the War Walls.
So they work well -

Spectral Wounds
Your first power in the set, and a nice one too. This has High DMG which is very weird for a Controller but your enemy heals if you leave them too long. Personally I use this as my main offensive power. There's no reason not to take this.
Rating: 4/5
[/ QUOTE ]
No mention of Containment or the Illusionary damage heal-back?
[ QUOTE ]
Blind
Your first mez in the set. It's pretty good too. It lasts for a decent time before slotting. It also has a chance to mez other enemies which is nice. Like Spectral Wounds, I see no reason not to take this.
Rating: 4/5
[/ QUOTE ]
Mez? Whats "mez"? What sort of mez? Can I "mez" bosses? Lieuts? AVs? What's this chance of mezzing other enemies?
[ QUOTE ]
Deceive
Ahhh this one. Well this is really personal opnion. If you a CoX version of Jedi Mind Trick, this is it. It allows them to attack other enemies, which is useful for getting Minions and stuff to attack AVs. Unfortunately, Bosses+ won't get the effect, so Minions and Lts you can only use it on. Also, you won't get any XP for a enemy defeated using Deceive, so don't do it when a AVs on low health! Overall, it's personal opnion. Some think it's a waste of time. Well personally it will be useful in low levels but high levels you'll leave it out. I took it and used it in low levels, I don't use it any more, but it's still on my build for fun if I want to deceive a Hellion.
Rating: 3/5
[/ QUOTE ]
Completely and utterly wrong. An enemy defeated by a deceived mob plus you will give you quite a lot of the XP. I suggest you read up on it before posting incorrect information about it.
[ QUOTE ]
Flash
Another down to personal opnion. I took this at first but respec'd it out, it wasn't good enough for me. It didn't have good enough ACC really. And I didn't really want to waste slots on it, so I dumped it. But some people have found it useful. Down to opnion again.
Rating: 2.5/5
[/ QUOTE ]
Mind telling us what it actually does instead of talking about slots and Acc?
[ QUOTE ]
Superior Invisibility
Yet another one down to personal opnion. I took it to ghost mishes. It doesn't really have any other use than that. If you don't want to do stuff like ghosting missions, then you don't need it.
Rating: 2.5/5
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, what does it do? You're supposed to be writing a guide. How does it work?
[ QUOTE ]
Group Invisibility
Meh at this. Who wants their whole team invisied? Just leave it out.
Rating: 0/5
[/ QUOTE ]
Why wouldn't a team want to be invised? Give a proper reason rather than "meh". I've used this plenty of times on a whole team for various reasons (ghosting, recon, giving us the ability to set up before attacking a spawn etc).
[ QUOTE ]
Phantom Army
TAKE THIS! It's one of the best powers in the game. I mean, c'mon, 3 invincible damage dealers. What more could you want!? That's all I'm going to say. Great power. Just take it.
Rating: 5/5
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
That's all I'm going to say.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pity, because thats not enough. Mention healback, how to use it, how long it lasts, what happens when the PAs disappear. What sort of damage they do.
[ QUOTE ]
Spectral Terror
This is a additonal mezzer, useful if Blind and Flash aren't enough. I use it quite often as it's pretty good. But some builds live without it. So, yeah, I think you should take it. Unless you have a uber build of course.
Rating: 4/5
[/ QUOTE ]
What is it and how does it work? Define "mezzer"
[ QUOTE ]
Phantasm
Last tier in the set and very useful IMO. Not as good as PA, but really helps. It's not invincible, but it doesn't have a ending time. Decent damage. Yeah, take it and love it.
Rating: 4/5
[/ QUOTE ]
What does it do? No mention of the Decoy it casts, the knockback NRG attacks?
[ QUOTE ]
OK, that's it...have fun playing Ill trollers...hope you found the serious guide to Ill trollers useful...

It wasn't so much they were "Talking behind my back" it's just every move I made or didn't make they talked about it on Skype.
[/ QUOTE ]
How do you know they were talking about your every move behind your back on Skype, out of curiosity?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, normally when they say "We are on skype, if you have something to say then say it in team" It means when I either do something they say or do NOT do something they say It's most likely going to be that they will talk about it on Skype and it really makes you feel I can't describe the word but made me feel Alienated from the rest of the group.
[/ QUOTE ]
So they might just have been making the occasional comment, or even saying nothing at all? You were just assuming they were talking about every last thing you did?
If you were uncomfortable with the situation the only real alternative would have been to drop out as soon as you found out everyone else was on voice chat you couldn't access. To join, stay in when you found out what the situation was then complain (initially with a "they were talking about be behind my back" slant) after the event is throwing blame their way that doesn't really seem warranted.
[ QUOTE ]
And I will be truthful, I can acept players not playing as good as they should be, but when they are risking small amounts of debt of the other 7 toons, then I get somewhat annoyed,

Edited to reflect actual risks involved.

While playing a Grav/Rad Controller a while back I tried something similar.
I went into Perez, (the controller was about L20 at the time so no chance of dieing) and dropped toggles onto various groups then ran around Perez to see how many I could amass.
The problem was that they didn't remain aggroed so after a while as many drifted away as joined.
So I would say no you cant do it!
If you could maintain the aggro, even with all of that defence I think that you'll die long before you get a reasonable sized mob herded.
[/ QUOTE ]
thats not very similar at all!
Toggle agro is fun, a friends Dark defender is evil with it, the -acc one is the best, rads can do it the same, I know my Earth/Rad herds this way, but forcebubble herding is different to extremes
[/ QUOTE ]
Aye, toggle aggro is more like AOE pulling than herding. The main difference being you can scoot around a corner out of LOS and avoid being attacked altogether, unlike herding where you soak up the damage and aggro.
As Miyavi says it'd be pretty hard to be able to soak up all that aggro with a squishy while you were pushing and corralling them. -

You know... I'm in an SG that actually has a full URL in it's MOTD, and I was able to log in just fine last night...
[/ QUOTE ]
Just because it works for you doesn't mean its the same for everyone (as with your ongoing forum problems). Their URLs might have % characters in them or something (URLEncoded path or parameters) which clash with some formatting rules in the messaging system. Or & parameter seperators causing a similiar effect.
