Angels = male (male names, and called the Sons of God)

[/ QUOTE ]Because the angels adopted those names from human males, rather than the other way around, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Either way, they're still male - male angels give their names to human men, or human men give their names to male angels.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So there's boy angels and girl angels? And hence baby angels, who they give bows and arrows to on the 14th of Febuary with orders to Go Hunt. Shoot Humans.

    It all makes sense now.

I assume this is also why we have boy hurricanes and girl hurricanes. Although interestingly they were all girl hurricanes until a few years ago when the weather people started using male labels for them as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, female angels are never mentioned, and the only time angels are described as reproducing is when male angels married human women in Genesis - "son sof God" marrying "daughters of men".

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's all very Zeus of them, flying down from heaven and stealing our wimmins! Did they pose as golden showers?

I'm beginning to think this Genesis thingy might have all been made up (or stolen off other religons). But why?

What would the churches have to gain from massive wealth and hordes of zealot believers hanging on their every word?

Back to the OP. The reason Cimorea doesn't count as time travel is because the Ouroborous portals came first, and forgot to count Cimorea as a way of unlocking the portals when they then added that.

    1) The damn endurance slog till you hit stamina. How can running out of endurance every few minutes be fun?

    [/ QUOTE ]

My WoW main is a mage. We call it Irish Magician mode because it goes:

    Drink. Fight. Drink. Fight. Drink....

And people say WoW is fun.

Oi!! That's such an offensive sterotype!

Some of us can't fight whatsoever

No, no, no, Golden Girl,... that was far too polite!.
You need to get in touch with your pent-up rage over the complete lack of the animated hair feature.

See Khorak for anger enhancement classes!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't have any pent-up rage about anything - certainly not a computer game
The game doesn't take itself too seriously, and neither should the players - it's just entertainment
And it's better to look for positives rather than negatives anyway - in RL and in-game

    [/ QUOTE ]

I nominate GG for Room 101, for being far to laid back and not angry enough about stuff. For heavens sakes its an Internet Forum, you're supposed to get overbothered and frothing at the mouth over the slightest thing.

I'd also like to throw NCSoft Europe into Room 101 for the 'orrible lag on Onion over the weekend. I get better connectivity to Virtue for heavens sakes, and they're over on the West coast of the US!
  5. Happy day of cake Cry.

Hope you have a good un.
  6. Actually doesn't it work a little better than that? Spectral Terror has a Fear aura (so when cast and every 10 secs as Okton says) but it also has a single target fear attack, so each time it casts that there should also be a 20% chance of the damage from the Proc there afaik

How is "outer space" still hypothetical? We already filled in a survey about it. There's even in-game half build launch pads in for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

those lazy idiots haven't made ANY progress in the last few issues now

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats because it got axed when most of the development team got the chop after issue 7.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Someone forgot to tell the guys down at the launchpad. They're still slogging away at it.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
It never ceases to amaze me how the human mind works. What we have here is a marketing survey with a range of hypothetical game features each described in just a (relative) handful of words. How anyone can argue so vehemently on a positive or negative viewpoint of the impact of any of these hypothetical features on the game, at this stage, boggles my mind.

It's a survey. The point is to gather information based on what is asked in the survey. Not what the survey taker assumes/fears/hopes might happen (either positive or negative). Having said that, though, the discussion here has been interesting to read during my days off .

The expansion sounds like a nice idea, but to be honest I'm pretty disappointed they're still just talking about some of the stuff here. I'd have expected some of it in the next issue or 2.

Unless its a cunning ruse to throw us off track of course...

    Lag on Union

Mine was pretty bad too. Although happily I was a solo MM so even when I was spazzing out and lagging the minions where doing their jobs.

It really annoyed me though as I made a concious decision to play the EU servers and spend a transfer fee to get a character on to Union, to give the EU servers another go. Ended up soloing a laggy game most of the time. Why bother?
  10. Carnifax

    Lag on Union

Came across this myself over the weekend. Most annoying too as I'd just moved the toon to Union this weekend in a effort to play on this side of the pond with an established character.

Not good at all NCSoft, sort it out.

Well you can already destroy lab equipment in Crey labs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I do, every time I'm in there.

Well the munkies do usually really.

Its just when you compare Mayhams and Safeguards safeguards tend to be way duller and less fun. I'd love to sic my flaming munkies on a semi or fully destructible enviroment. It's always so much fun doing mayhems on my MMs.

See above comments about property damage being unheroic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed. Superman is always very careful to avoid such things.

    Oh wait...

We don't all play whiter-than-white heroes anyway. At least one of mine was only allowed in Hazard Zones and the RWZ until the Rikti Invasions started (Fire/Rad controller). He'd be quite happy to go kick holes in the Rogue Isles (who cares about the fates of some digital people?)

Hang on, isn't there a mish in the States TF involving smashing up some pipes. Something like that maybe, have Mayhem Missions set in Arachnos / Council / Crey compounds with no pesky squishy innocents to be getting in the way anyway
  13. Or just give heroes Mayhem missions set in the Rogue Isles and places like Crey Labs.

First of all he had such bad english i didn't understand a word he was saying "da AV iz ere" stuff like that. wondered if he was russian he said "da" alot, like infront of every thing... da boss, da av, da mission...

Figured i'll just ignore him, then he proceeded with the mission, which was clockwork king one, he dashes off to clockwork king to solo it, died in half a second, then i see a buncha lines in caps, no idea what he meant to say. (Da tp ??).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I wonder what "da" might be short for. And TP, well, there's a conundrum - what on earth could that stand for? AV? Not a clue. Iz? Well, obviously a misspelling of "id", and "ere" must refer to someone's ears, and couldn't possibly be one letter off "here".

Here's a big word for you, as opposed to those pesky shortened ones: phonetic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    fonetic, surely?
  16. The whole problem with the "I was in character" excuse is that the SG owners can't also play to character and execute the miscreant on the spot.

Well while everyone else quotes rules and regs at you i'll just say you have my sympathy and in my opinion this guy should be ostrasized by the entire community for his behaviour.

Although you and i both know he won't be.

    Where's the humanity people????

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a bit difficult to get overly wrought over the theft of some virtual goods to be honest. Bummer it happened but that's about as worked up as I can get.

Be happy you weren't playing EVE though. That game is truly evil.

And don't let one bad experience make you leave the game. Why should some idiot drive you from a game you love?
  18. 1) Wormhole : Fetch Tanky, fetch. That's a good boy. Good boy *pats on head*

    2) Howling Twilight : A great auto-stun and debuff with a cool animation. Which has the side effect of bringing people back from the dead.

    3) Fire Imps : Savage them my pretties, savage them. No... not them. the other group. No!! DON'T RUN ACROSS THE ENTIRE ROOM. NOOOOOOOOO....

    4) Spectral Terror : Wailey spookey thing which scares the bejaysis out of things. Whats not to like?

    5) Gang War : A mob of useless stone throwing wasters. Nothing like setting these on an AV for kicks and watching them get mowed down.

    6) Hurricane : Or Hurricane + TP rather. Loads of fun chain-TPing around a bunch and forcing them back towards the grinder that is your team mates

    7) Grave Knights : Mostly for those cool swords they get, and that satisfying noise they make when they disembowel someone with em.
  19. Carnifax

    Kinda rude

Nope, not in yesterday situation where it seemed to be a fairly critical flaw with the patch. Writing any sort of detailed explanation would take longer to compose, check and have passed off by a manager than a simple message like the one they used.

And without knowing what steps they needed to take to fix the issue it'd be foolish of them to provide any set ETA as to when service would be resumed.

Sometimes servers fall over or have critical flaws in new patches / upgrades. When that happens the priority has to be to prevent it causing any extra damage to customer data even if it means a disruption to services.

Also K and Palli did pretty well keeping us informed in the Announcements as to the nature and extent of the issue on the forums. The GMs and Community Mods aren't developers or technical people, so they need to take a while to translate from the 1s and 0s which Techman speaks into a more human-friendly tongue.

    Thugs/????

No love for Traps in this thread

Thugs/Traps is astoundingly good fun with pets and minions everywhere (Acid Mortar can pull for you, seeker drones are one of the best alpha absorbers in the game). And Poison Gas trap is still decent post-change.

I think I actually prefer Traps to Dark for a MM, it seems more Mastermind-ish (altrhough Dark is my fav Defender primary).
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I really wish I understood economics better.

The general definition of "farming" is for inf, and drops (to sell for more inf), right?
So farmers increase the supply by farming and selling salvage and stuff. The more supply there is, the lower the prices become, assuming a static demand - which is not entirely realistic but good enough for this model. Right?
However, the farmers have a reason to farm inf, right? They want to but expensive things like purple sets and Hami-Os and uber-rare Salvage and whatnot. So they get more money than other players by farming and then pay outrageous prices for these - because they can afford it. For the non-farming populace this means that expensive stuff gets more expensive, as farmers gain more inf and outbid each other. Right?

I try not to think of stuff like this because it gives me a headache.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is why I mellowed out and stopped worrying about it all. It was too confusing and unfun for a game. I just play the way I like and let others get on playing the way they like. I don't really need phat lewt that much, life is far too short to worrying about getting ripped with purples.

It's another beautiful day - leave the computer and go do something relaxing

    [/ QUOTE ]

Say what now? I have no idea where the sun is for you, but it's certainly not appearing in my sky - and I'm freezing my toes off. I have my heater on, and three laters of thick clothing.

Even Cat's cold, and he's covered in fur.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your cat is called Cat? Is he a snappy dresser? "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWW. Lookin' good buddy"

I'm chained to the computer until 5 as well so no chance of me leaving to trudge through our 15 degree "summer" to do something relaxing.

It also takes about 1 mintue to accept, let someone run the map and then quit. Whats is so hard or annoying about? I thought the RP community were all about helping others? Whats wrong with helping farmers?

    I'm not a RPer ta.

That's a minute I can't join another PuG or enter a mission. I've better things to be doing (unless I'm shopping or something in which case I'd consider it).

I've found sticking them onto ignore is the path of least resistance rather than trying to explain that to people. What's wrong with that?

    [ QUOTE ]

You DO realise you're going to get hunted down for that, don't you?

Yep, I know I've let myself in for a world of pain.
