Wait, you mean it gets BETTER, not worse in the 20s? I thought it would be typical 1-10 uber, 10-20, - ok, 20-30 meh, 32-40 OK, 40-50, - uber curve. (at least that's how my 2 highest alts (claws/regen and rad/rad) felt.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh yeah, I mean it starts at "meh" (or "what is all the fuss about?" might be a better phrase) at level 1. At 12 you're a good AOE Blaster but not good at anything else. At 22 it's stupidly good fun and just keeps getting better from then on (well I suppose it plateaus out in the 40s as you don't get too many super new powers but the plateau is so high up and so darn fun you barely notice).

Most of my characters I don't really like the pre-SO levels too much though.

If its not interesting why play it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because some builds start off rather meh and bloom later on.

Warshades especially take this to ridiculous heights (going past "bloom" somewhere in the 20s and ending up at "dear-sweet-baby-jebus-this-is-fun" in the 30s). But a low level (pre-SO) WS really isn't much fun, especially solo. If the MA had been around when I was grinding my way through the teens by street hunting I'd have jumped at the chance to farm.

Sometimes it's also nice to skip sections of content (like the starting zones or stupid MinerStrike Island) by PLing past it too.

    [/ QUOTE ]
??? As a player of a warshade in pre-20 level range I didn't notice anything "meh" about them. Squidform, and later hastened, mired squidform outblasts lowbie blaster, and humanform has Recall, which is useful in teams. And that's without YinOs in the AoE (which boost Rech for the WS. PB can Yin-slot everything and be even more uber for a while.)

(ADD: and if you don't like forms, why bother with Khelds in the first place?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Personally I found pre-22ish or so on my WS to be meh. And yes I did (and still do) use forms a lot, rarely sticking in human form.

The "meh" could be a result of the fact I knew or guessed how unmeh the levels after 22 or so would be of course

If I could have easily PLed my way through those first 22 levels I'd have done it like a shot. A lot of it could be that I've done the 22 level slog way too many times over the years and for the most part it's dull and tedious, especially if you're soloing chunks of it.
  3. The Architect Cossie Unlockables are for your created Custom Critters only, not for your actual characters.

Trenchcoats are a Vetern Reward you get for 6 months of subscribing (I think it's 6 anyway). That's the only way to get them for your characters afaik.
  4. Flaming Oil Slick making pets flee.

Yes, it's still there (but mentioning it makes Castle cry like a little girl, so maybe it's best left in).

It is less borked than before though as the i11(?) fix means pets will return to the flambed area quicker one the flames dissipate.

The MA System is indeed on a different server. One in the US.

The Map Servers which host running MA instances may not be however, if you see what I mean?

Happy birthday Mumsie. A bouquet of posies and a Barbara Cartland novel are in the post.

Kind of funny how many SS/Sd and elec/SD brutes you see all of a sudden since I14 farms.

Yes ss/SD and elec/SD are great for killing those ritki comm officers, but this week they get nerfed and wont be farmed anymore.

That means back to nemesis farming and those 2 combos suck big big big time in fighting nemesis.
make me giggle when they realize their "farm" toons they rolled for I14, become totally useless in the next days :-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or people will just make Freak farms using the MA instead. With just Lieuts in them probably.

if it's so easy to get lvl 50, i might try it on a villain, maybe i can finally play COX the way i like it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lol, it's actually boosted villains popularity somewhat.

    Fury

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It probably has.

Now you don't have to see any of that scary RI scenery or have to deal with criminals and evil contacts.

Just stay in the nice and shiny Cap AE building and get to 50 in a few hours.

Now that can only be good, right?

    Right?

    Anyone?

Now I know what I might do with my last day and a bit of sub time! Get my villain past 21!

That's for Captain Begorrah, my shillalagh / Drunken Idiot* scrapper

*Yes Drunken Idiot would seem harsh to Irish people everywhere if our damned PM didn't spend his trips to the EU in drunken beer sessions with the Czechs or Poles (I forget which). Way to represent our country Mr Cowen.

He's like a drunken, more unpleasent looking version of Gorden Brown, and like Gorden spent years screwing up the country as second in command to a laminated shister who bailed when he saw the Storm a-coming.

I know Acid mortar is useful solo but in teams its a waste of space and yes I'm 6 slotting FFG for the ranged def bonuses.

The build above is currently half implemented into Sullster got a couple of sets and procs already. I would slot pgt more if the devs didnt nerf it!. As for power boost I got it to supplement my defense for alpha striking or toebombing if my stealth is seen through as it increases my defense, although looking at soul drain on mids I realised that that might be a viable option as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Perma 20% extra damage vs tough targets is waste of space?

Sure on Steamrolling teams it's not that much use. Vs AVs or anything where you're standing in the one spot for a while it's gold IMO.

Powerboost won't affect FFG will it? Pretty sure it won't affect Set bonuses either.

Trouble is if you start removing the rewards from MA, it will end up going from popular feature, to empty zone used by creative people.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or give it a daily limit. Big game did it succesfully and now GW done it likewise, works pretty good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A daily limit seems fair to me.

Stripping all rewards will kill it dead and make i14 and half of i15 completely pointless.

Ninjitsu - Hide ain't in this list as far as i see. So does it mean it ain't a bug as people claimed?

The bug was to do with the damage bonus Hidden Mobs get I think, it was lasting longer than intended.

    And more content coming

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not enough GG, I'm afraid.

The disaster that is MA is a perfect example of how to get it dead wrong - and still try and claim it as a success.

It's just wrong on so many levels, and if you drastically nerf it, or better still remove it, where do we go from there?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you'll find quite a large chunk of the player base have no problem with the architect some even quite like it (yes shocking i know)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like bits of it and am just laughing at the massive [censored]-ups they made in other aspects.

It's not really a black or white issue to me. Some aspects of it are hilariously broken and the devs have screwed themselves over as they'll need to nerf it and then listen to the reaction (EU was bad this week, wait for the nerfs to see the US side explode into rage).

They backed themselves into a corner and released it half done (see how the rest of the fixes for it are now i15 'features'). Same thing they did with Cimororororia, release half of it one Issue, add the rest as a 'feature' of the next.
  17. I've had good fortune with Bronze Rolls, in terms of suitable things to slot into my Brute. But then I generally like Frankenslotting and I'm not too concerned about the Set Rewards so most likely they're cheap on the Market anyway.

I agree with you, people are rolling hoping to win a jackpot where as I'm rolling on something pretty much guarenteed to give a relatively small payoff.

All those small payoffs add up nicely though.

Mmmm... I forgot about those silly tickets...
Yet prices seems awfully high anyway since MA introduced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Common salvage prices are way up i paid but rair and uncommon salvage has dropped like a stone hami goo can now be had for around the 500,000 mark which is fraction of its previous price.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is just plain weird. You can only make Common rolls, you've to buy Uncommon and Rares and the prices don't seem that appealing to me (maybe they are though thanks to the huge ticket rate drop) but the Common Rolls are dirty cheap and yet prices on them are really high.

    Je suis confuddled.

Just check the end of the thread. She's still going strong and has just finished her MA arc.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I believe wondering_Fury made the point of that it's bad for new players to be caught in this, they are the kind of people who won't learn their AT especially if all their farms go 'well' and all it takes is following that shield/SS brute or ss/Shield tanker around while they roflstomp the mobs into oblivion, they're not going to learn anything.

Veteran players on the other hand, especially those with who have worked with similar (defender and they're levelling their corruptor) or the exact same classes and actually put the time in to read up on them on the forums in both cases, they're going to be a dab hand at a most ATs they put their mind to (I know that Twilight Grasp isn't just a rez power, it's also an awesome stun and a key -regen power but new players may just read it, see it's a rez, go "Why would I need that...nobody dies!" and leave it out).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Howling Twilight. Twilight Grasp is the ToHit, Damage and Regen debuff which also happens to heal people near you

I've been soloing farm missions for the tickets on my Brute, and managed to completely skip Sharkshead thanks to it. In this case this is a good thing (I frikken hate Sharkshead, it's a graveyard for so many of my alts).
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Mmmm... I forgot about those silly tickets...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes they do. And Common Salvage rolls are only 8 tickets. It's rather weird.
  22. Grats.

Why no Soul Drain in your PvE build though? PBAOE which gives a 30 second build-up. Yum.

Probably more useful to a AR/Traps than Power Boost, a lot of the Traps simply won't get much of a boost from PB.

And for my money Acid Mortar is one of the best powers in Traps. Why are you only taking it at 49 and one slotting it?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
You can't avoid the market as MA has no drops from farming missions.
That's why the market has so high prices, because only the few last of us who don't farm, we are the only source of drops...

    [/ QUOTE ]

But you can get drops from Random Rolls. I've been bronze and common salvage rolling and sticking everything I don't want on the market for 5 inf.

The prices I've been getting for Common Salvage red side is silly though.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Hmm is there any way certain mobs can have lowered XP in MA form without reducing their XP outside of the MA.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As far as I know they have to clone the mob in question, edit the clone and plonk him into the MA list rather than the original. So it's a bit time consuming.

Personally I'd have just removed Comms Officers from the list entirely and only let them appear from choosing "Random Minion". Even as Minions they're weak compared to other Rikti minions.

That would have had the added bonus of culling all the linked Farm maps using them as well.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
I am throwing my two cents.

I guess if they remove inf from MA missions that will put a serious obstacle on Power Leveling. As you know you can't get all enhancemets with MA tickets (End Modification ones for example)

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can get End Mods from the MA, they're just not listed in the collapsable tree on the left. But if you just click on Magical or whatever and scroll down they are there.
