Quote:Doesn't work, since you can't invite alts to it by yourself unfortunately.Make your own sg... and make your own base, and just store stuff in it. Look at it like your super hideout, or your personal apartment.
btw, no one said anything against this feature in the first place.
THANKS
Am I supposed to be thanking someone now? -
Quote:Fault doesn't do any damage though. Personally I've found Stone/Fires AOE combos too slow and fiddly, and the single-target attacks too slow to recharge (thus hurting Fury building) to make him a very good steam-roller. Tremor is incredibly slow to animate as well.Tremor and Fault.
So are you now going to add something useful?
Add in the fact that Burn doesn't play well with Fury (Burn only has your Fury Damage bonus for about 2 seconds, then it loses it) and my Stone/Fire turned out a bit too awkward to be a true AOE Death Machine. My Claws/Elec is better at dealing AOE hurt overall.
Build-wise I guess recharge, recharge, recharge (and Recovery). If you're farming then you can pick enemies that do Fire damage and basically not need to worry about defenses. Stone Melees biggest issues are the slow recharge of the powers and the hideous End consumption. So aim for things which cover those. -
Quote:Not Devs. Our Devs would have little to do with the pricing structure of the products they develop. That's what the publishers marketing department is for (BTBASH).I understood the announcement. But straightforward and "easy peasy" for the masses? No, it's really not.
Straightforward would have been one product to buy with hardwired dates where different portions of that one single product would be unlocked, not three separate options/sub-products.
I'm pretty much convinced at this point that this product scheme was devised to motivate people like BrandX to double-pay.
Kudos to our Devs for figuring out a way for them to maximize profits. -
FSC + AAO is a thing of beauty. Just as I was getting bored of Fires lack of tricks and variety a smeg-load of orange numbers comes along to cheer me up. And I haven't even slotted FSC up yet or gotten Build-Up.

Isn't it Scheduled Downtime around about now?
I know EU is 12 til 2 and it's 25 to 2 now. -
Quote:The Coming Storm has been downgraded to a Slowly Approaching Squall and may have decided to spin off into the Atlantic instead.Actually at the time they stated that any future EATs would not be unlocked by getting a character to 50.
Somewhat pedantically, that could either be read as 'you will not need to have a charcter at 50 to unlock them' or as 'you will need to have a character at 50 plus other requirements as well'.
It seems fairly apparent that the former interpretation was the one intended - but the ambiguity in the statements made does remain.
i.e. if ever the devs introduced an EAT that required a 50 plus some other requirement then they would not have gone against previous statements, just against what appears to be the majority's interpretation of those statements.
Less pedantically:
One of the downsides to EAT development was always that the requirement for a 50 meant that comparatively few players had them - so any further development on them could be seen as wasted (benefitting maybe only 10-15% of the playerbase when other development may be of benefit to much higher numbers).
Lowering the entry requirement for EATs should mean that they are accessible to many more people, and so it becomes easier to argue for spending development time on both new EATs and possibly on new content specific to the existing EATs... (Heck - is that storm still coming? How're the Khelds feeling about that?)
I think you're onto something here. I reckon they looked at the play numbers for their EATs and said "Hey, after all our work making VEATs and boosting HEATs no-one is still playing them really". Plus with Posi working on an endgame of some sort they might have figured it'd make sense to encourage people to keep playing that 50 in the new endgame rather than running off to make an alt.
The Endgame was given as Posi's main reason from stepping back from overall lead (a slightly political line methinks), but have we had word if it's also part of GR yet? -

Quote:Use Herostats to determine which of ye is right? It's got an XP/Min counter in it. Just start the mish, reset the counter and have at it.This is the Situation, my friend and i were arguing about a mission for best exp. his argument is that since enemies give more exp per enemy at +4 setting then obviously, in a given mission, you will always get best exp at +4 setting. the conditions being, one character first running the mission solo at +3 and then the same character running the mission solo at +4. My argument is that since you can kill +3 enemies faster then "by my math" technically over time you will get more EXP at +3. For example, at a given level (lets go with approximate exp for my lvl 43 Scrapper) at +3 it takes me x seconds to kill one enemy worth 13k EXP and at +4 it takes me x*1.5 seconds to kill one enemy for 17k EXP. my math may be wrong or i may be just too stubborn to admit it but doesn't that mean that if that one character were to run the mission 3 times at +4 and then 3 times at +3, you would actually accumulate more exp in the same amount of time in the +3 mission. we have agreed to disagree at this point but im wondering if my math is wrong. Also i will point out that since it is the same character running all the missions comparing builds is not a valid argument. any thoughts?

This would potentially ruin my Stone/Fire Brute (I know you're talking about Tanks but Brutes get Taunt in their attacks and auras too). My Fiery Aura would break Fault and Tremor on me meaning I couldn't do my Shake and Bake properly.

Isn't all common salvage rollable via AE Tickets, for basically nothing (6 tickets or something like that?)
And I think it's only 6-8 items per "category" so it's pretty easy to get what you need (or get lots and lots of it and cash in on the market). -
Quote:An SM/SD Scrapper? I'm not sure you'll ever be set soI actually have a lowbie SD/DM tanker. Level 11 or so. Maybe I'll re-make her as DM/SD. I already have plenty of tankers for times when I want to tank.
Yeah I just need to make 8 new scrappers (Fire/SD, Fire/SR, DM/SR, SM/SD, Elec/SD, MA/SR, MA/SD, Broadsword/SD) and I'll be all set.

Call for publisher to sort out issues with [random minority] once and for all using unproven and illogical methods.Virtually unrelated question about game which has already been recently answered by two news posts, an announcement, ten forum threads and a dev. Agreed. My laptop can play ME2 well. Not top settings or anything but still pretty nice. CoX (on the same resolution) has to have its settings turned down too and yet is still slow and laggy even when I'm soloing. And in terms of eye candy there's no contest in terms of what looks better.

Quote:Yep. DM/Shield is also jumping up and down and trying to attract my attention for the same reason. I've got a DM/WP Brute and have a ridiculous attraction towards set combos with interesting synergies.Yeah. I still kinda WANT the character to be Fire/SR. Some part of me is considering making both Fire/SR and Fire/SD. It is a part of me I don't like.
Man, I so wish my DM/WP and MA/WP weren't in the low 40s. I really kinda want to remake them as /SR. I also wish we weren't having an unknown new endgame system coming, because I already have too many characters to bring though it. I don't need more.
Bah!

Quote:1) She doesn't look much over 20 in the pics anywayI can't help but picture a bloated 20 something year old Des'; spoon feeding herself ice-cream out of a tub of Ben N' Jerry's while crying over a guy that dumped her because she was fat.
2) I've more of an image of her summoning a couple of screeching, gibbering abominations to rip that guy to bits before dragging his screaming soul back to the black pits from whence they came.

Quote:I'm currently in the same boat. Trying to stave off the Altitis demon, who is hollering for a Fire/Shield scrapper. I've made him and all but thankfully the Atlas Park Street Hunting grind stopped me getting to into him so far (half-empty late night servers are good for some things)All,
Is anyone else kinda frustrated by Shield Defense? It is just too good to not take it. I have always wanted a Fire/SR scrapper since Fire Melee came out, but I never got around to it. Now, I keep looking at the Fire/SD option and drooling. Its kinda pissing me off.I made an Elec/SR and loved him, until I made a SD/Elec tank. Now, it makes me wish I'd made an Elec/SD scrapper. Also, I have a DM/WP that was always supposed to be DM/SR and so I'm tempted to re-make her, but I keep looking at DM/SD. AoE on a Dark Melee scrapper? Inconceivable!
Shield Defense is really getting me down. I love SR for concept but SD keeps making me wring my hands.
BAH!

This thread isn't helping either (and like you I'll be going Fire Sword instead of Scorch for concepty reasons, Fiery Sword and shield looks better). -
Quote:Thank the heavens. I've been ranting about the crappy AH interface for ages now. Ease of life things like this make me happy.
Auction House: The UI gives you new options for sorting search results, your Auction House inventory is now separated by clearly marked tabs based on the item's status, the Auction House text entry box now autocompletes, and a single click on a recipe displays all salvage needed for that recipe.
The QoL features have me happier than anything else really. -
Quote:Once the PToD drop they'll happily do it. Hilarious when a bunch of people are standing about discussing who's going to tank the AV when it suddenly flips out and kills its friends (useful as a gentle prod to the team too). The "No Aggro" aspect of the Controller and Mind versions makes it very easy to achieve solo via stacking (once the PToD drop). I've even had it happen post-death that an EB standing over my corpse has suddenly decided to switch sides and beat up his mates. That's why I said, "Pretty much," since there are always exceptions. Most of the time, the debuffs will have minimal net effect. If you really wanted to be picky, you could go into the small differences between Resistance Debuff and Damage Debuff in EF, but the difference will have such a small effect, it isn't worth mentioning. The bottom line is that Seeds is an AoE control that most importantly will control minions and lieutenants in good sized groups. The fact that they do some damage to each other which, as long as you also do some damage, will speed up your XP over time is not all that significant as long as you get the control.
Since Plant control only has the one-shot AoE confuse, there is no chance to stack confuse on AVs without a bunch of Plant Controllers. However, just a few Illusion and/or Mind controllers can stack the single target Confuse on an AV to cause him to wipe out his minions -- I've done it a few times. -

Quote:This is an EU post originally, but I still don't see how it survived our occasional Boards purge (unlike the old US boards the EU boards only purged occasionally)
It could have just as easily have been you Werner, can you seriously say you would have remembered seeing this thread 4 years ago?
And in my defense, I wasn't even playing yet when the original post in this thread was made. Well, I was, but I had just started and hadn't found the forums yet, as my reg date illustrates.
That said, this one wins the necropost crown in my book. It is the farthest back I have ever seen one dredged up that recieved a legitimate serious reply (from myself in this case) -
Quote:This IS an NCSoft board. Av is an NCSoft employee and one of her roles is to maintain the lines of communication between the player base and whomever it might be relevant to. We are getting in touch with NCSoft by posting here. We got a response from an NCSoft Community Manager.Excellent thoughts, I never disagreed. I do however disagree with the idiotic way some people are shrieking into this thread, and not even bothering to address their comments outside of the forum. I don't know about anyone here, but when I have a complaint I tend to give it to the people its directed at. "I'm not going to double post" from Dr_HR sums up the amount of care people are bothering to put behind the collective ranting.
Voice an opinion all you want. Just don't act surprised you're being ignored when it's posted here.
As for playing the victim card, look at the comment I received under the reputation tab:
If "aim your complaints at the people who can do something" is taken as "EU are inferior", then too bloody right people are going to look like they're painting themselves as victims. It's all rabbling and declaring how awful the situation is, yet not one of you seems to have any sort of drive to pursue answers outside of this thread. You know how to get in touch with NCSoft - try exercising some of that passion in the right way, rather than just a collective circle-jerk of "IT SUCKS".
/edit - At any rate, this will be my last post in the thread. There's no more I can say without coming off like a broken record.
Now we have to hope that it's elevated to Marketing (bless their black and shriveled hearts) and a decision about both the pack and the future of the European servers and player-base is decided upon.
