My arcs are about 10-20 plays and 4 stars. That would be mostly of the fact they are made for hard-core gamers of COX. If you put up the repp too high you're team will die very fast. Ofcourse I warn people... but I got a question last time in a remark that he/she didnt understood what EB or AV meant in my warning line :s
We should all try to play either 5 ratings and rate them honestly so they are back to where they should be... Rate boring farm missions for what they are worth (in my case not more then 2 stars as there is often no contact placed.... nostory... etc.) and try and play the 4 star arcs more as they are often very good and may deserve a 5 star rate. It can be that they are grieved down and a good amound of 5-stars would bring them back up again.

Damn Vampires. Creamed me last night. (I did read the warnings and knew them so I got what I deserved, but I figured since I joined the SG over the weekend I should have a go at it and brush up on my history). I was actually doing Ok until Bathory called in some more reinforcements...
I couldn't finish it so I didn't rate it. I thought it was very well written indeed, the Mission Intro text was excellent, for me the main downside was the amount of objectives more than the difficultly, the 9 glowies didn't add too much and since it was a big CoT map it was a bit "Arrrgh".
I reckon I'll try it turned down a few notches again tonight. The problem with lowering the difficulty too much to allow for the End Boss is that the other enemies on the map end up a bit too easy. I enjoyed the other EB fights and I'd hate for them to be downgraded to bosses. And the minions & Lieuts would simply be annoyances at the bottom difficulty. -

Themes: Prehistoric, Medieval and Futuristic times
[/ QUOTE ]
Which of that theme is the one we plan for, or do we make a character which has all three? (three cossies).
Bit confused there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Medieval seems to be the leader at the mo. I reckon plan for that first anyway. Other periods would be new characters from that era / setting I guess. -

It looks like Monday nights might be the best for everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed.
Given that early starts suit everyone except me I'd say start at whatever time suits the majority and I'll toddle along and join you if there's space when I get on later. I can be an associate member of the team and SG.
Still want to play a Shield Tank but since I'll be an irregular and arriving late I might switch to a different AT depending on what people end up playing. -

MA interface

*cough*WW*cough*

No wonder I'm having trouble getting the damn thing to work properly, I've been going to the wrong place -
[ QUOTE ]
Would imagine it has a chance to proc for each affected mob. You should only get one BU though regardless if more than 1 mob was affected.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what I was thinking, one chance per enemy affected seemed to make sense. But sense and PROCs sometimes don't go together...
The lack of information on it has me worried. Well not really, I've got the slot already in SD so I may as well pop it in and see what happens (as the bishop said to the nun). I can always respec it back out and flog it to a Widow or a Claws Stalker if it isn't the best.
Amazed I haven't seen it mentioned for Warshades before though. Seems like it'd be a really great PROC for Dwarf Mire and a decent one for Human Mire. -
Hmmm. That's really odd. Normally if it was a Server issue there'd be a few people on the boards saying the same thing within a few minutes.
But if it's fine on Defiant that'd suggest a server issue.
I can't check myself but I wonder if there's anyone else reading who could quickly create a character on Union and go to Galaxy and confirm if they have any issues doing so. -
Not sure why this is happening to you.
What happens if you create a character and skip the tutorial? -

Let me add in case we don't have enough people to start teams:
Prehistoric: Inv/Mace(I hope this is the one which has bone as a weapon choice) Tanker
Cyberpunk maybe an alien race, a Mind or Fire/Sonic controller or Cold/Ice defender or Fire/EM tank.
For your time problem Carnifax, if we will decide to start earlier than 20:30, i can pact with you so you won't be left behind too much of the team.
Edit: Me and my stupid brain tried to fix it for people to understand last part.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure Mace does have a bone in it as a weapon. Pact is a good idea, if ye do start at 8 a half-hour isn't going to be too much of a hinderance, I can always catch up out of hours anyway if you'd prefer that to pacting, but I'm happy to be in a pact too if I amn't slowing you down too much
My 8:30 start times are the main reason I haven't applied for more themed teams in the past so I'd love to tag along this time around, especially if it means a new toon on Defiant. But if you guys want to start at 19:00 or 19:30 then I'd say go for it or with me as an occasional tag-along / filler later in the evening if you need it. -
If there's still space throw me down as a Reviewer as well if that's Ok Emo. I've been focusing on MA Stories generally anyway on my Brute and I'd be happy to write some reviews on whatever I do.
-
I'm sure I'd be able create a toon for any occasion. The kicker for me will be the Start Time as I've a 2 year old, so generally I wouldn't get on until 20:30 BST / GMT once she's asleep usually. I could log on at 8 though so you know numbers and it could be a case of "start without me and I'll catch up" as I put her to bed. If people are fine with that so am I. Any weekday is good for me, weekends during the day are out.
For Medieval I'd be interested in a Shield/Mace Tank. I've got a lowbie Shield/Fire but haven't played him much and would be happy to reroll and go Shield/Mace instead. This would be my favourite option probably as a character to play.
Prehistoric maybe a Plant/Storm Druid type with a beard you could hide a badger in.
Cyberpunk anything really, I don't mind. Fairly easy to come up with a concept that would slot into the team well. -
If there's space I might be up for this too depending on Times & other details.
Someone make up some concrete details -

Indeed starts slow, but for the sheer varity in skills is great. thats why I love it. Glue may not be a great -recharge, but with slow slotted into it its great for ranged kiting and I love breaking LoS ^_^
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, things went a lot better for my Grav/TA once I learnt to stop playing like a Chaos Controller (my Ill/Storm) or a Scraptroller and started to manipulate my debuffs and the enviroment as a defense. -
Meh. That removes all the cool uniqueness of things like Inspiration and just makes them "Another Tanker-esque buff aura".
Doesn't make sense for a MM to even be on the front line a lot of the time. I far prefer the other version where they're being inspired (or encouraged to do their best) by the fact you're using loaded weapons behind them. Feels way more Mastermindy
It also makes the MM ranged attacks more useful in terms of letting them act as buffs.
[ QUOTE ]
Never seen the point of keeping power unique to a specific AT or faction
[/ QUOTE ]
The main reasons I can think of are to make something less generic and more suited to a specific ATs role or abilities, and to make something which works well for one AT without worrying if it would be overpowered if ported to another (look at how Kinetics for Defenders & Controllers went, or how Dark Miasma or, to a lesser extent, Traps would be if ported to a Controller). -

I also don't believe the game engine is capable of doing a "if X amount of Henchmen are alive, power is X effective" type power.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if they can, i was thinking along the lines of rise to the challange in the willpower set, which has a system for X amount of enemies = X amound of bonus.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, given how Bodyguard mode works in sharing out the damage there must be some mechansim in-game currently which is able to tell how many Henchies you have up and running.
Good idea for a set and I like some of the mechanics described here, Inspiration, where you doing damage increases the damage of your minions, is a nice idea and could be possible by taking the "Frankenfury" of Blasters and applying it (with lower numbers obviosuly) to a PBAOE buff which affects only your Henchmen.
Personally I'd be for keeping it unique to MMs and not having it affect other characters.
However I'd also like to see Inspiration taken and reworked into a Defender inherent in some way, that in Attacking you give yourself and your allies a bit of a buff (doesn't have to be damage) in the same way that Defiance 2.0 currently works for a Blaster. -
I only craft enhancements I'm using myself. Everything else goes on sale as recipes, generally for 5 Inf.
I prefer beating things up rather than messing with that stupid MA interface more than I have to.
I never buy crafted items either, always Recipe + Salvage needed and do it myself -

Permadom absolutely needs NO nerfcause its not more OP than,
SS/anything brutes , most blasters, ill/rad, fire/kin trollers, /ss tanks, spines/FA scrappers, da/sd scrappers or brutes and many other combos, and all those combos kill bosses much faster than a permadom, while killing minions and lts at almost the same speed, while not being half as squishy.
Many combos in the game are much better in terms of damg AND survivability than any permadom can ever dream of.
[/ QUOTE ]
Perma-Dom isn't getting a nerf. You'll still have the same capabilities as you had before i15 when these changes come in. However the gap between you and the non-permadoms won't be as huge as it currently is.
Actually your point on the Damage Cap is a good one, thanks to these changes your Perma-Dom will be able to benefit from External Damage Buffs much more since they won't be near the cap. And the buffs will be larger too since base damage is being upped. -
How does thing PROC work in Soul Drain / Mire? Is it a single chance for the PROC when the power is cast, or one for every enemy hit by the Soul Drain?
-
If you're gonna insult someone be creative about it.
Like :
"Have the deleterious changes the feckless developers made caused that to be a feculent waste of time as well?" -

I didn't think that Set bonuses would be effected by DR?
Would i be better with a FF Controller for the Epic shield ?
I am now thinking perhaps Sonic / Psi would be better, woud Tough / Sonic Dispersion and Mind over body give me a nice overall Res?
Or did castle **** us on that too ?

Please don't misspell swearwords in order to get around the filters. It's bad enough that The French Connection built a marketing campaign around doing it without it spreading.
I dunno about Resistance on a Defender in PvP, won't the low HP be a huge handicap? -

Footsteps? Lowest denominator tripe? I loved that mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are of course entitled to your own opinion Carni. For me, any 4th wall breaking is an absolute no thanks, from me. Jokes about player made costumes and about XPEES, is about as low as you can get, in terms of ensuring a few giggles from the playerbase.
Not really high end clever canon stuff (such as, Tidebringer)
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm quite happy for the 4th wall to be broken, I've never met a PuG where it isn't. As you say that's purely down to personal opinion. But it is a well crafted arc, as oppose to The Butterfly Effect which is just average in every way (actually less than average in terms of gameplay, the missions are just dull)
Tidebringer eh? *goes onto the list to try* -

What it really signifies is NCSoft thinks the western market is a dead loss and not worth bothering with.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which developer/publisher doesnt think the same? (slightly apart from blizzard)
EU remains a nightmare for pretty much every publisher, distribution, language and local laws aint making it easier. (EU isnt limited to only the western side of EU)
If their efforts give more reward in asia/US, i wont blame them for putting EU at 2nd or even last place.

We're below Antartica?
Damn you Emperor penguins.
I hear they love the Ice Levels of Loco Roco 2 on the PSP, all the ad hoc network JRPGs (what else are they gonna do while standing on the ice and being talked at by Morgan Freeman?) and Pokemon on the DS. -
[ QUOTE ]
Butterfly Effect is a nice idea, but the missions really are about as simple and unimaginative as you can get. I am not really sure why it is rated so highly, to be honest.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know. You're thinking "Ooh, this will be clever" and it just never happens.
I blame the Da Vinci Code Effect (now there's an idea for an arc) -
The only issue I have with TA is that it starts Slooooooooooooow. The first few powers are all fairly "meh", Glue Arrow is fine but nothing special (the -recharge is rather low on it), Ice Arrow is an unspectacular hold (thanks to the animation time, but at least it's better than it used to be). Flash Arrow isn't anything special either and Poison Gas Arrow is again average at best compared to its Damage Debuffing peers (oh I wish they'd just change the Sleep to a Fear, it'd make it a lot more useful).
From Acid Arrow onwards its all good though.
I'm currently enjoying my baby Cold/Ice Defender. Except when he's soloing. Then it's painfully slow (for all involved)
-
Footsteps? Lowest denominator tripe? I loved that mission.
The Butterfly Effect I thought was meh though (and rated it 2 stars accordingly, I just didn't see why it was a Hall of Famer at all.

Personally (and I've been in Atlas as a newbie this week and Cap soloing Ma Missions) I've noticed a dramatic drop-off in farming since the Comms Officers patch.
Either way I'm pretty sure that making the MA a worthless dinosaur that few people bother with is not the way to go.
I'd be happy with XP Caps on missions in there rather than no XP. I like running random MA missions on my Brute solo. If the XP was removed totally I'd completely abandon the feature, as would the vast majority of players. Meaning Arc Writers would get even more frustrated that no-one was bothering with their arcs (or just Hall of Fame ones if they still gave XP. And if that WAS the case you'd see a whole raft of other problems with Writers getting frustrated because no-one bothered with their "rewardless" arcs and a lot more Rating Cartels as people tried to leverage their arcs into the Hall of Fame).
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay maybe that is a better idea. I'm turning into a dev where i am seeing a problem so wanting to totally destroy that part of the game for everyone.
*snaps out of it*
But for now the problem still stands, new players with completely powerleved 50 haven't lost access to them. (yes they were completely powerlevled, i've seen people with AE badges, Thrill seeker badge, and an infulence badge or 2 and thats all)
This is why something needs to be done, and although many different things have been mentioned about it, i thought i would include it in this thread as this thread was mainly suggestions invovled with the games economy
[/ QUOTE ]
In regards to the Economy I'd give it a "Wait and see what impact the recent changes have made" approach, the Auction House typically takes a while to adjust to changes made.
I'd be for Salvage & Recipe drop chances increasing according to Team Size though, in the same way XP rewards currently scale.
And as an event I'd welcome a "Double Salvage & Recipe Drop" weekend too, just as a special event to get people back in the game and running normal missions as oppose to MA farms.
