Just drop INF/PREST from the MA...
[/ QUOTE ]
That will cause it to be abandoned more-or-less completely. Sure, people do go for the story content but at the same time people like to see progress. And what about those who have exhausted their contacts and dread repeatable/radio mishs? They will probably use the MA for new content but won't get prestige for their SG. As someone who runs a one-man SG, Coolio you should see the problem in this.
Removing the auto-sk is the solution IMO. It makes people have to far the old way instead of just getting auto-sk'd, thus slowing it down a bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
You'd still be making progress (ie XP) and tickets. So you'd still be progressing, I'd be happy to use the MA still if Inf was taken out of it.
Becoming more Influencal or Infamous for playing Dr Aeons fun-time-pretendy-games doesn't make sense to be at all.
Although in-game it looks like Aeon and Creys scheme to divert the attention of a vast number of Heroes attentions worked pretty damn well. God knows what sort of state Bricks and Founders are in now. -

Illusion Control- Y'never know when it might come in handy. Could also have a blast at childs birthday parties
Teleportation-Because it's just cool. Minus the end drain ofc
Stone Control- There's just something about it.

3 powers, not powersets you greedy, greedy boy.
And remind me never to attend any kids party you're at. Summoning a horrific screaming entity of pure terror doesn't usually go down well with kids. Or is that the intention? -

The Rikti are new for new players

This.

Or new characters
My Brutes can't wait to meet them to be honest. Hopefully won't be too laggy Villain-side either (if it is then I'll switch to a MM, Pets on Aggressive is usually the best way to deal with em).
Don't think my Warshade has ever fought in a Rikti Raid either. A few Zombie ones but they weren't well suited to her (stupid Neg Energy resistances). Look forward to Mire-nuking them repeatedly in the face. -

Ive been doing lvl 25-29 missions in villainside which include Lost like Lt. Demitrovich's in Nerva. But most of the missions Lost are replaced by Riktis, acting like Lost, doing Lost emotes. Anyone else noticed these?
[/ QUOTE ]
If they con over level 29 (could be 28) they'll be Rikti rather than Lost.
I could tell you why but ***Omega Clearence Needed***
Confused me a few weeks ago when I was doing the Midnights arc in my mid 20s and the opposite happened, loads of Lost hanging around a Rikti base until I remembered ***Omega Clearence Needed***
Explanation of why here. Obviously contains some spoilers -

I'll join frostfires also but will probably leave the team at completion so i can slide around

EVERY thread is a bitter old farts reminisce thread.
Now get off mah lawn you kids!

Would you be open to increasing some spawn sizes in the hollows? Some of our fondest early days memories are trying to navigate through the hollows.
Also . . . . . we're coming soon to the multi forums near you!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, I miss the old Hollows. Of course there's always Perez for any new "Hmmm, I seem to have a ridiculous amount of AOEs at a very low level" characters I make to street sweep through.
Bit some of my fondest memories were legging it around vast swarms of +2s on the streets of the Hollows, across the bridge and bunny-hopping through the Hills of "Absurdly overpowered Wizzard types" to reach my level 8 mission. And then laughing at the others on the PuG who tried to go the direct route, right through the middle... -

Oh look. More microtransactions. There's a surprise. Not.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know. I'm stunned too. I certainly didn't expect that. Next they'll be adding requested features to some sort of "booster" pack and charging people for them too. Or making nice cossies but sticking them into these theoretical "boosters" and giving out the crappy ones made by the new interns in the free issues. -

Illusion emps are great as healing does not break hide.
I think that the rule is, no dmg = hide not broken.
So...
Does debuffing break hide? for example - Enervating field and Lingering from rad set.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, they do. Debuffs give you aggro & hence will break the Invis.
Heals, buffs and pet summons won't break Invis as far as I know. With Pet Summons the initial casting won't get you aggro, but you can quickly gain it from the pets actions (summoning Spectral Terror won't aggro but the fears he then throws out will gain you some). -

I think you're misreading the intention of the suggestion Donna.
The idea is to let new players know there are other zones with other content out there. It's not really an anti-farming measure, more of a "Why not see if you like this content too" measure.
Like the (much loathed) "Go off and see Wincott" mission you get at the start of CoH. Which is why it's a bit of a no from me I'm afraid. I'm a chronic alter and I hate it every time when I'm sent off to Wincott around level 6.
To be honest personally I'd remove the MA buildings from all levels less than 10 (so Steel, Skyway and Cap Au would be the first places they'd be) and the MA Architect wouldn't be added as a contact until level 15.
That way anyone new can explore the first few zones and the basics of combat & levelling before being introduced to the MA, but any Vet in the know who wants to avoid the crappy early levels can easily run to the Steel MA (or Cap Au one) and PL themselves to whatever level they want to (like out of the first 12 for example, Brutes are a nightmare until DOs).
[/ QUOTE ]
This part may have been misleading then, but not sure how else to take "In order to combat PLing and farming"
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that it's stated that it is for people to see that there's other content available in the game I'd take it to mean to combat excessive PLing and Farming by new people. Which I agree with. Don't mind someone getting to 20 or 30 or 40 in a few hours. I do mind said 20/30/40 not knowing where the train lines are, how to slot their characters or what any of their powers do because they've been in the protective cocoon of 10 Allied Bubblers for their entire mission life, or been protected by a Level 50 team-mate.
You already know there's other content out there, know your powers and are an ebil farmer anyway so you're probably safe -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
In order to combat PLing and farming further, how about a mandatory arc?
Of course there are already tailor/cape/aura missions, but these are not mandatory. But I was thinking more along the lines of an arc or mission that must be completed in order to attain a certain level. This would ensure that players have to experience some of the game outside of MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about [censored] !
If you are not a farmer, dont farm!
don't sit and scheme up ways to ruin other people's fun.
How about this suggestion, keep your stupid comments to yourself!
How would you like it if I were to make suggestions specifically designed to hinder the part of the game that you enjoy?!!

I've started a Stone/Fire and it seems to be a good match-up.
Stone brings some decent control to help Fires survivability, with Fault and Seismic Smash (and later Tremor to some extent), as well as the Knockdown in the Mallets. I went with Air Superiority instead of Stone Fists for even more knockdown. Things tend to bounce off the ground a lot, which is fun.
Fire will help with the Blue Bar (this is my biggest foe at the moment, even fully kitted out with Accuracy and End Reduction DOs) with Consume at 20, and will add decent AOE Damage in Burning Aura & Burn, as well as some extra spike damage with Fiery Embrace if you get it (not 100% I will yet).
There's some decent looking synergy between Seismic, Fault and Burn and the Stone Attacks feel very Brutish & Smashy (much more so than my Dark Melee / WP brute). Later, with the Patron Pools it looks like he'll become a bit of an AOE monster, although I've no idea which of two I'll end up going for (Darkest Night looks too tempting to forgo so I'll probably end up with Tentacles, Darkest Night and the AOE, but am still considering Mu Mastery for the easier to use AOE Immob and the AOE Blast).
Fire has a fair few other holes I'll need to fill in, no knockback protection (going with IOs to fill in that gap), no Immob Protection (went with Combat Jumping but might respec it out and rely on Burn instead) and Slows & -recharge attacks like Cold & Psi and -End attacks like Lightning (try and mez the offender and then kill them quickly). -
I think I'd just like PFF to keep the rain off me.
Oh, and Wormhole, just so I could use it to reach the remote when I was on the couch. Of course it'd need practice to avoid sending the flatscreen through a rupture in space and time and flying out my sitting-room window.
Can you make a cup of tea without getting up via Telekinesis? If so then that's my third. -
Double XP only in the Shadow Shards, Boomtown and DA!

Didn't the devs make some noise about rolling back 50's PLed in the MA some time ago?
[/ QUOTE ]
They did. And they did do some rollbacking too.
Of course if you're a level 50 looking to farm for tickets & recipes that seems to be fine. -

I've been experiencing this too. Thought it might have to do with my connection, but it has never been before so consistently bad as it has been since this week. As Carni says not so much big lag spikes, but more like overall almost continuously small rubberbanding. Occasionally I see a critter slowly heading towards me from like 70 feet and 3 secs later he's suddenly standing right in front of me. Sometimes it's even so bad that defeated mobs are still visible (with health bars up) for a couple of seconds. Me cuing an attack and not firing off, because the mob is dead already, which I can only a couple of secs later. Makes targeting very ackward. It is playable, still it's a real pain in the profound buttom.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're the team-mate I was referring to (you poor blighter)
The fact that both of us were getting it in the same instance when we're in different countries (I think?) points towards some sort of infrastructure or server issue rather than anything on the users end. -

You forgot to say that Blue Steels father was just one day away from retirement when he was shot.
Retirony FTW! -
Really there's no way the MA missions should get double XP as well. They event should be used to encourage people (especially new players) to get out of the MA and try some arcs in different zones.
(not an anti-farming rant, I run MA missions quite a lot. More a pro-PuG & playing Arcs rant) -
I was deliberately on the wired connection yesterday, I tend to just use Wireless for browsing the net or whatever. Happily the router is close to where I set my laptop up so when playing I wire it up.
-
I think Evils is talking more about the interface for respeccing rather than the mechanics of it Donna.
You can't use the same system as Mids unfortunately, simply because the stupid game doesn't actually remember what levels you allocated slots at, just that they are in a power. Hence the weird Exemping system we have where enhancements are weakened.
So it wouldn't be able to say "You can't move that slot from your primary tier 1 to a level 47 power since you allocated the slot at level 3" as Mids does, the game doesn't know that's a level 3 slot, it's just a slot.
So the only way it can make sure you're allocating them properly is by making you go through the levels one after the other and validating that way.
*editted as I got my example backwards -

I'm getting small lags since Monday.
On mission maps, outdoors or even in my SG base.
It's enough to make using cone shape attacks extremely difficult.
Also it can be enough to not follow a mob even after hitting a bind key 'Follow', right after an attack I often hit 'Follow' again when I think I didn't before because my toon is not moving and thus cancel it.
This is on a DM scrapper.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been getting this too, as was my team mate last night, at the same time. Everything is just very choppy, not the sort of huge lag jumps I've had before. This was on Union Villains around midnight.
Both on a standard Office Map and in Cap Au afterwards (the instance seemed worse to me though). -
I've had this sort of bug before, edited & republished and the old version comes back.
I've found when I republish I'm better off not doing anything for 5 minutes or so to let it catch up and settle.
If it's still going wonky on you with after you've left it a few minutes that is a pretty serious bug. -

(and apparently so is pyramid quoting when it exceeds 4 layers... go figure)
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a Health and Safety issue. 5 quote storey pyramids are unsafe in high winds.
And, erm signed. I'd love some back details. After all the backs are generally most of what we see when playing. And plenty of shoulders already clip with things like cloaks so it'd be nice if Jay left it up to the person designing the toon to decide what works and what doesn't rather than ruling things out totally.
I've a feeling Scabbards & Quivers will be part of the natural booster though. Much requested feature? Check. Can be fitted thematically into a specific origin? Check.
Gotta love "micro"transactions. (I don't consider a tenner very micro to be honest)
