I didn't, in fact, make ANY guarantees. Read my post again, I challenge you to find the word 'guarantee' anywhere in it.

However, I've been running the Win 7 beta's since they started coming out (and not the public beta either), and have never had any problems. My current build is the last one they released to beta testers (newer than the RC), and it works flawlessly. Paragon Studios would REALLY have to bugger about with CoH to make it not work perfectly on it.

As for Firefox. Good luck downloading it without a browser. You'll have to download it on another PC or get it before you update, and you can do the same for IE8 too, so it was pretty much a pointless comment really.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Good old Windoze.

With Linux you can do without a browser in one line (maybe 2)

I should introduce you to my Warshade. She needs money for fancy IOs and isn't too fussy how she earns it.

    You want happy finish?

    Windows 7 (EU)
    Will be out: October 22nd
Won't have: Internet Explorer 8 (EU Regulations)
Will most likely have: EULA allowing Micro$oft to add/remove/change any programs and settings at it's discression. (Basically M$ could remove any web browser etc not of it's making...)

Forum note: The EULA information above is based on the Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate) one...

    [/ QUOTE ]
And i was hoping such pathetic people using the $ wouldnt be here..

You just get cheerier and cheerier, don't you

On the browser thing, personally I don't mind if MS bundle a browser application with their OS. Problem with IE for me is the fact the damn thing gets hardwired into the OS, with no way to remove it.

If you don't include any at all then how do people get one then? Is IE an "optional update" for the OS or does one have to go down the rather silly install from CD or Key method?

I hate this whole anti farming stance the devs take...
We pay our subs, we should be able to play as we see fit.

Do they dislike players having level 50's or something??
I mean what other game to you know that activley spends man hours preventing it's customers doing something that they enjoy.

They spend time trying to fill farming holes... and in turn create bugs aswell!! Cossie creator is now knackard, there are no animations for weapons, wings, or auras now.

    I mean FFS, What gives!

    [/ QUOTE ]

By the time you've read this they've fixed the Cossie Creator. And that bug was most likely due to the Super Booster, not the demise of the mitos.

Do you honestly think allowing completely defenseless enemies which give massive XP is a good way to manage a game? I've no problem with someone who is good enough at playing to be able to deal with boss only spawns at a fair lick and deal with their damage & aggro. But the mitos were just silly. Plus you've always got a choice anyway if changes to their game annoy you that much.

PS : I heard PETA were going to get involved with their "Save our Green Blobs" campaign. That's the main reason they were removed. We've already got crazed enviromentalists in-game. We really don't need more
  5. I play on both, although more on Union recently and have found them to be pretty much identical except Union has about 30% more players online and visible in search.

Other than that I don't think I've noticed any difference at all. Trying to PuG Villains either side is a bit hard at the mo though.
  6. Update time (since there's very few posts about this combo here or States-side). Now mid 20s (25 to be exact) and my End Woes are, if not behind me, at least managable now. Stamina & Consume are both needed and even then you can easily run out of End, even with my hammers slotted with -End SOs. Think I'm gonna need a Performance Shifter at some point : The Random number generator didn't smile on me last night when rolling Silver ticket rolls, dammit. But I've already gotten a Steadfast Protection Knockback Resistance from 15-20 Bronze Rolls thanks to the MA (slotted into Plasma Shield)

Seismic Smash is a godly power altogether, remove a boss from a fight with one Smash. Build-Up is great for Stones heavy, slow recharging attack chain, can do enormous damage to a Boss in seconds running it. I'd recommend getting Build-Up as soon as it's available.

Fault is the ultimate power in the combo so far though. Allowing enemies to hit you for a while whilest you hammer them down seems to be my best way of getting Fury up nice and quickly, my attack chain is a bit slow to do it alone, even with Brawl on auto. When they start hurting (and Fury is nice and high) Fault followed by Healing Flames sorts you right out and you can then pick them off one by one while they fall over, get up and wander around. Plus it recharges really quickly so even though they don't stay stunned too long they soon will be again. I've seen some Stone Melee guides say it's just Ok (a Stone/Elec guide too, which was baffling), but for a fairly squishy */Fire Brute it's a 5 star power for sure.

Plays differently to my Dark/WP Brute mid-20s. No way I can take as much damage as he can (he once jumped into 2 Lost spawns in the Midnight Arc and didn't even notice there was 2 extra purple conning bosses, one of the Kabra Kill, until he was halfway through them) and I'm better at fewer, more powerful enemies (all the better for clobbering) but from now on it's all AOEs which I'm looking forward to.

Anyone playing Stone/Fire should read this US Guide on keeping the blue bar going. Especially in the god-awful teens (hang in there, it gets better eventually).
  7. I'd agree with Paj in saying Gravity for a Dom mightn't be the best first-time choice.

I had an Earth/Fire Dom US side for a while and it was fun. Lots of AOE Control, good damage.

Plant is very good on a Domi though, Seeds is a godly power.

AOE Immobs can be very useful (and Plants does twice the damage of the others, for some reason), Fire, Gravity & Earth can combine them with their AOE Stuns for a ghetto hold (stunned, wandering enemies can be slightly annoying). Obviously with Ice or Earth hold off on the AOE immob if you're Ice Patching / Earthquaking.

Overzealous use of AOE Immobs at the low levels (either side) will get you killed through aggro though.

Grav Crush loaded with damage and damage procs is just a joy to spam

    [/ QUOTE ]
Crushing Field? Yes, it's great once you've a few PROCs in there, I think I'm up to 3 or 4 in it at the mo (I'd slot for Acc & End over more damage though as AOE Immobs can burn through the blue if you're spamming)

Removed Mending Mitochondria from Devouring Earth enemy group.

[/ QUOTE ]Really? Another 'removed' NPC? When is anyone going to get all these guys back (Snake Eggs and Prisoners btw)? Why not simply remove the xp off all the offender NPCs so people won't feel a compelling need to create an entire map of them? And how long till we see high level Family, Maniacs and the next target of farmer abuse removed, never to be seen again?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only ones I know of they actually bothered sticking back in was the Comms Officers.

Due to the silly way they seem to have implemented the system they actually have to clone the entity and change the clones base XP awarded (or XP multiplier or whatever it's called) rather than having easy control of its MA and non-MA rewards seperately.

In other words I wouldn't hold my breath.

Prisoners always confused me though, by default they reward XP equal to -1 of their level anyway as far as I knew.

*Edit : Oh, and I assume we'll have this Server Downtime as well today to fix the Tailors US Post here.
  12. Did they fix Tooltips on rolling over Recipies and Enhancements?

    That was really irking me!

Whee. I knew not to trust my useless gambling skills.

I'll spend that 5 mill on.

Hmmm, apparently the reported bugs on the Test Server with the characters, auras etc not working in the Character Editor is now on live.

    Bravo!

I've already got 10 million bet with wuffles that positrons announcement is today and 5 million with carnie that the hamis are gone

Hang on, I just asked what odds you were giving. I never committed to anything

I'm too rubbish at gambling. Over Wimbleton I betted on Accumulators every day, getting about 80% of the matches I called correct and still never actually won any money (stupid Safin).

So Damz, what odds are you giving on the Mitos mysteriously disappearing in this patch too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Icanhazmitostoo? Sorry been a long day lol

But yeah they will prob go bye-bye as they are the farm of the week foe. Although at this rate what high lvl foes will actually be left?

Hoping they fix that stupid "You cannot enter" prompt whenever entering MA mishes even though it still lets you in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    In the notes they have.

And on the mitos if I was fixing them I'd try somehow to leave them in but give them back their attacks at all levels, coupled with Benumb and Infrigerate and a ranged version of the Vashok Wasting Disease.

    That'd be fun :

Broadcast by Atlas n00b : "Hay. Y are I covered in bes??"

    Gale = Fail

    [ QUOTE ]
My storm toon likes gale a lot.. sure its tricky in teams.. especially with a tanker. But it can keep this squishy alive solo.

When used good it can be used in teams.. blow runaways towards the tank... or blow away enemies from squishies when the tanker missed them.

Or just use it as emergency button when you re in danger youreself. It has a good acc... one which I enhanced too. Just in case. Enhanced it kan keep bosses down...

    [/ QUOTE ]

It doesn't have good Accuracy, it's 0.9 compared to 1 for most other attacks. It's better than AOE mezzes but worse than most other attacks.

    Gale = Fail

    [ QUOTE ]
Gale is an... extreme power. Two situations to show what I mean:

    Giggling much.
    Gale rules.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok i laughed, ah great now i have an urge to make a storm toon just to giggle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's the main draw!! Illusion/Storm is the Queen of Chaos.

I tend to use Gale a wee bit. Mostly if I'm not bothered with Herdicaning but some mobs are escaping the meatgrinder of PAs + Freezing Rain + Ice Storm + Spectral Terror (oh, and whatever teammates are with me) or a boss is getting too close.

I'm half-tempted to respec into Flight rather than TP now too with the new improved hover. That'd make Gale even more useful (my Warshades Nova form has shown me how hovering directly above the spawn and firing straight down is a very useful tactic).

    OMG upgrade!

    [ QUOTE ]
lmao i was still setting up each one!!

wondered where my end went xD

Does the animation only effect 1?
Is this the same when in PvP Zones ?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, only one will do the animation but all 6 should be upgraded (just check the Pets Window buffs for each).

Far as I know it's exactly the same for PvP (and probably one of the reasons it was done really).
  22. Carnifax

    OMG upgrade!

All pet upgrades are now AOE.

They cost a fair chunk of End as well so best slotting them just for End Reduction now.

Thanks for that, I shall have a read

Still trying to get my head around these IO's which are a new thing to me. I found a build on the US forums which I am using for now however using SO's instead of what it says in IO's. My tank wasn't exactly wealthy so I doubt I will be buying any soon, but I will see how it pans out.

Fun getting back into the game, I must have spent at least an hour last night re-discovering the joys of superleap + skyscrapers, not so productive on the re-learning to play the tank but a good laugh anyway

    [/ QUOTE ]
Normal IO's are still affortable (100 to 500k at AH) but once you go to IO sets, bring along alot.. no wait, a trashload of influence.

Cheapest way? Go MA and use the MA tickets to buy the IO recipes (normal ones) and the needed salvage. Craft them, sell them, be a business man!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Using the MA Tickets on Bronze and Silver rolls can be very useful too. They're weighted so that you tend to get a lot of melee (and ranged, but they can be sold) ones.

Golds are too ticket-expensive for me but my Dark/WP brute is half-frankenslotted now (he's level 38) thanks to Silver and Bronze rolls (bless em).

I'm still always amazed that there is a market for Crafted Recipies. Don't think I've ever bought one pre-crafted.

Any Salvage drops you make (or purchase via random ticket rolls in the Mission Architect) sell in the Auction House. That'll get you rolling pretty quickly (especially since there seems to be a bit of a salvage shortage going on since a lot of people are running MA missions and thus not getting Uncommon or Rare salvage).
