    Spine/DA

    [ QUOTE ]
Im starting this char because I have a problem on lvling my blaster, and I'v seen some of the Spine/DA scrappers, and they can really do some serrius damage. So if anyone that have a good build, or have a sugusteon on how to make one, that would be awesome =)

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've a level 12 one. But I'm not good with him at all.

His nickname is the Glass Landmine. Battles generally go: Build Up, Leap in. AOE burst. Badly maim all. Get creamed.

AOE attracts so much hate that its quite difficult to survive. Also you're an END monster and if your toggles drop nasty things happen.

    He looks pretty cool though

    Traps Or FF

Necro is great but the zombies tend to die a fair bit. Which is grand cos you can just re-res them and it adds to the feel of the char.

Mr Grave knight is great in close combat but he does need some encouragement to get in there. Zombies too can do their puke and then one runs in while the other stands there and waits for puke to recharge.
So Goto is used a bit of them too.

They're also a bit prone to running off and picking fights, especially if they're on a runner. So keep the Heel button ready...

    3. If you're running anchor debuffs keep a close eye on who your pets are attacking and retarget as required to keep your anchor alive.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I use focused passive mode attacks to handle this better. Also great for when you're in large teams in areas like the Place Outbreak Containers mission to keep a rein on your mobs. Basically just the STRK command Master Z mentions in the original post as part 1 of the Pull strategy. Means you take each mob down quickly and the anchor should be the last to drop. Great for dealing with bosses & lieuts too. Plus for */dark it means once the mob drops the minions will return close enough for you to heal them before choosing them a new target.
  4. With my Ill/Storm : Controller , Alpha Strike absorber via PA, Blaster, debuffer, Squishy protection, terrible healer via O2 boost

This is like filling out my CV.

My hobbies include reading, socializing with friends and summoning the fury of the elements to smite my foes.
  5. Ah. I see. Cheers.

So i don't have to worry about it until level 32 anyway. And then throw 2 -recharge so's into it which should drop the recharge time to about 36 secs (60% of 1 min)
  6. What have you slotted it with though? Recharge reduction? I don't see the point really since I usually only need the power multiple times at the start of the map. Ditto with End Reductions. Unless I'm frantically raising in the face of an oncoming mob that just slaughter my previous zombies I don't need to worry about the end cost.
  7. [Edit] Why did this post itself twice?

    Stupid boards.
  8. This reminds me. Is there any point in sltting the actual upgrade power itself? I have my Zombies 4 slotted at the mo but what should I put into the Upgrade power itself?

Enjoy it while you can. This is our golden age. I'm sure a nerf bat will be along soon enough...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, the next thing due for Masterminds is a buff. The fix for the powers granted by upgrades not taking into account enhancements slotted in the summons.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You can't call a bug fix a buff.

Unless you're a Dev of course

    Naming minions

So far I'm going for a Reservoir dogs type naming with Mr Black and Mr White. i think I'll keep it up but with a Pratchett twist and name them Mr Deep Avocado and Mr Reddish-Brown and the like.

The lich will be Mr Pink, of course.

The premise is that these are former agent cohorts of mine who I betrayed and have now brought back.

The old gang is back together.

Pretty aggressive build there. PvP primarily?

Did you do any tests on whether +rng so's affected Thunderstorm? I soloed a mish on Friday with it +rnged and it seemed to make a difference.

I love group invis and steamy mist too much to lose them. But Thunderclap and Deceive would be pretty handy too.

You only took flash at 24. I assume you wouldn't be exemping below 26 anyway?

Wouldn't bother slotting Snow Storm at all, maybe one extra slot so 1 slow & one end reduce. The slow enhances only affects movement speed, not the mobs attack rate. Maybe take the slots from it and put them into Sup Invis for a def boost? Or is it worth it?

Maybe throw a -slow into Freezing Rain instead of a recharge. Just to slow the rate they run out of it if unheld. Although Snow Storm might cover that.

Group invis and Steamy Mist? Why? I love them, but I'm not doing any PvP or intending to

Don't care about PvP at all actually. But the "chaotic control" aspect of Thunderclap fits me nicely.

    To the Test Server....

Oh hang on, i've to wait until 17:30. Stupid work...

Agreed. PA > ST > SS> FR is a great combo.
But it does cause (sloooow) scatter, since the damage from FR breaks the fear cowering of ST, and some fellow teamies just go nuts over it. Not so much nowadays (post I5) since Def had been lowered so the tanks are actually happy that everything isn't focused them.

Hmmm. Now I'm wondering about respeccing to drop O2 and get Thunderclap. O2 heal isn't the best but I like being a box-o-tricks.

Well the storm set has lots of pseudo controls like snow storm( slow), freezing rain (the knock down) and thunder clap (mag 2 disorient) also works great. I highly suggest in PvE your use these powers in combination with spectral terror.

Spectral terror isnt quite an AoE, its a pet that uses cone "attacks". Its close to an AoE but not quite, thats one of the reasons you need something more.

And btw tornado simply sucks. It can be anoying for the opponents in PvP(its very situational) but in PvE its allmost useless. I really should
remember to atleast try to answer some of the main questions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

FR is about as far from a hold as you can get given the AI reaction (scatter like roaches when the kitchen light comes on). Ok it's a slow scatter and you've got the knockdown to mitigate it but it certainly ain't hold-like.

Snow Storm is a great little power. Always have it on someone (except a runner, in case of adds). I've seen suggested Respecs where people say you could remove it but I'd never do that.

Never actually had Thunder Clap. No room in my build really. Don't have Deceive either. Again, no room at the inn. I like Group Invis and Steamy Mist too much.

Really? Hadn't noticed the original disappearing. That said it's usually pretty hectic if I'm being forced to recast ST somewhere else.

The repositioning is handy since the Fear effect lingers anyway. So the premise is still the same. Must do further testing on this actually.

Storm doesn't have lingering radiation so we're stuck with the pseudo-hold of Fear. Which is fine given its AOE. It certainly beats Sleeps.

Right I was testing out a few builds and was looking at tornado. In the description it says that it debuffs defence so I 6 slotted it 3 defdebuff and 3 damage so I wanted to see how good the debuff was and guess what… Nothing not 1 difference can someone enlighten me please

Secondly what is the best use for lightning storm?
I tested the end drain on it (it was minimal), not worth the slots, the acc is high so I am not going to put acc into it so 3 damage enhancements and?

Also I have just added spectral terror and deceive to my build, specteral terror is great don’t know why I have never picked it up before now and deceive is quite handy, my initial use for this was going to be PvP against Masterminds but I also found it useful PvE.

Any help would be much appreciated,
    Thanks my Friends

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tornado is horrible. Absolutely useless. Never, ever use it on a team. You have Freezing Rain for debuffing dmg resistance and thats more important than defense anyway. Tornado just makes a mess of everything.

Spectal Terror is the bomb. I was like you, I didn't get it until a lvl 33 respec. But its such a great ability. And the low recharge means you can set up multiple Fear points, great when you get another mob Add steaming in.

As for Lightning Storm I've only just got it but I'm thinking Range enchances are good for it due to its knockback. Since it appears over your head I'm assuming the Range mods affect it's firing range. I've put a single SO in and it seems to increase its range but don't quote me on that.

The knockback means its good at guarding an area. Generally once I've dropped my main attacks (PA, Spec Terror, Flash, Fr Rain, Snowstorm maybe) I'll drop a lightning storm just inside a room, back off slightly so I'm beside the squishes and throw up Hurricane and start Blinding any stragglers.

    Single Target

    1 acc, 3 hold, 2 recharge

    Group hold

    2 acc, 3 hold, 1 recharge

    [/ QUOTE ]

Normally I go 2 acc, 3 hold 1 recharge for singles and 2/2/2 for group holds.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    Yo all

For those of you have who had the chance to experience a higher level dominator, (post 32 when you've got your pet), how does Containment affect it? Are pets even affected?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well Containment doesn't affect Controller pet dmg so I'd guess it works the same in that Dominate only affects your powers.
  21. Storm is the least chosen secondary and is an early bloomer in that some of the later powers are underwhelming to say the least (Thunderclap & Torando, why must you suck so much?). Even the tier 9 power, Thunder storm, isn't great.

But Freezing Rain has a great synergy with your pets as it lowers enemy dmg resistance. So Illusion / Storm you can solo pretty handily from level 18 onwards.

Illusion has the fewest traditional holds though. Instead you've got Phantom Army decoys (best power in the set. Scrappers will love you for absorbing the Alpha strike of a mob and hate you for letting them wander off and pick fights with a second mob behind the originals) and Spectral Terror which is pretty good nowadays.

Storm is reckoned to be very strong in PvP thanks to Hurricane. Great Stalker protection, just throw a few -acc enhances in it and you should be unhittable, especially with an invis or 2 up and Steamy Mist.
  22. Stupid duplicate posts....

"Document returned with no data"... What does that mean
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    Mine was slotted 6 damage

Depending on the Tactics figures I might only 3 slot it now for damage, but hell no is it getting specced out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've actually dropped a slot and gone 3dmg + 2 accuracy. I had 2 accuracy in anyway as I tend to end up fighing oranges / reds / purples. Plus if I can be bothered with PvP he should hit a bit more than usual. My PAs were 2,2,2 slotted anyway so no real change there. Only had a bit of test time with this build but it seems Ok so far.

Illusion is a real "chaotic control" set with Taunting decoys and feared mobs making up for the [censored] pbaoe hold you have and the lack of immobilizes. The Phants decoy is great for this.
  24. I've found he tends to go "Decoy" (if its recharged), AoE and then spam bolts / AoE as they recharge. And he does add to my DPS since in a group you can just leave him off and get to Blinding / Flashing etc.

Question is what to replace it with? Only 2 I don't have are Deceive (or whatever its called. The "Attack your mates" power) and Superior Invis.

And he's useful for Soloing when you can't find a team. Which might be more frequent now CoV is out.
  25. I quite like Mr Glowie. His Decoy can be very useful and to be honest I had him specced with 4 dmg + 2 accuracy so ED hasn't affected him too much. I've just 5 slotted him instead. He does enough damage for me too and since I have all the control illusion powers I can't see what would be more useful to me.

As for his poor positioning I recast if he's really being annoying and refusing to fight.

I wish Range SOs affected HIS range rather than the range at which I can summon him. Ditto with -recharges.
