Personally I found Tal_Ns guide really annoying. Why? Because I wrote one myself, then read his a few months and realized it was much better detailed and basically mine just agreed with it. Bah! I hate it when someone does that!

Although he does miss out on the joy that is TP+Hurricane. One of my favourite things to do with Carni is blink about the edges of combat using teleport (with the Control & Left mouse click bind) with Hurricane on, using it to grind enemies back into the center of combat where your PAs and Freezing Rain are. If you summon Lightning Storm beforehand you can Herdicane knocked back enemies back towards LS & Phanty.

I find myself agreeing with Goats way too much around here.

Safeguards I just leave. They're so crappy what's the point?

Mayhems I love the side missions. Just as long as the team know that I'll be flying to it, to grab myself some lovely Eagle chumps to bring to the party as well.

One of the best things to slot in Dark Servant for frequency of triggering is a Dark Watcher's Despair: Chance for Recharge Slow or a Cloud Senses: Chance of Negative Energy Damage, because so many of the Servant's powers apply toHit debuffs. Particularly, the Chill of the Night aura he uses is always on, autohit and wide-area.

A toHit debuff proc will check for activation off once per target per 10 seconds in the aura and once per power activation per target in powers like Tenebrous Tentacles and Twilight Grasp. Other procs will check when the powers they could be slotted in on a player are activated. The proc doesn't have a radius of effect, but rather has a chance to affect everything hit by the power it is slotted in.

What the proc delivers to a foe does not matter, but it does matter what kind of set the proc is in. You cannot slot damage sets in Dark Servant. If you slot something like a hold set's proc in him, it will only go off when he uses a hold, etc.
Just on Cloud Senses, that will only PROC on powers which use Accurate -ToHit won't they? So just Tentacles & Twilight Grasp will PROC, since they're the only 2 powers which require a ToHit checck and do -ToHit. Chill of the Night and Darkest Night won't get to use it (or will they? My Necro/Dark MM really would like to know )

I've a feeling it's not considered a bug really, mainly because Tanks and Scrappers share the same pseudopet. So in terms of balance between the 3 different versions I'd reckon the devs would just leave it alone and consider a feature, but maybe not one that was intended or thought about when Pseudopets inherited damage buffs in i7 or i8.

It means that slotting for damage is probably more important in Burn than one would normally consider for a Brute. I'd slot for damage over recharge in Burn.

I'd love some cossie codes thrown in to them (although in fairness the only cossie code I did get I gave away).
  8. It is the Damage buff from Fury wearing off. Burn is a pseudo-pet and inherits the Damage Bonus and Duration from Fury. Since Fury works by being a short, reapplied duration Damage buff (2 seconds I think) Burn will lose the inherited damage buff from Fury after about 2 seconds.

If you trigger Build-Up, leave it for 5 seconds and then trigger Burn you can cause a similar effect. The damage will include the inherited damage buff for the first 5 seconds and then lose it.

It was a bit annoying for me because I got very excited checking the build in Mids and at 75% Fury Burn promised to do massive damage altogether, and my Stone/Fire is pretty good at keeping things in it. But Mids was assuming a full Fury Damage Buff for it's entire lifespan which isn't what actually happens.

You can use the Rikti Target Dummies in the RWZ as handy targets for testing this out on.
  9. Wheee. Got 100 too.

The Defense Debuff question almost caught me too until I thought about it.

Although looking back over the questions I don't remember answering the Tailor one at all, which is odd. Either my short term memory is rubbish (which it is) or my subconscious is great at taking over when I blank out.

And technically my Stone/Fire Brute could have been my god, if St Patrick hadn't croziered his sorry butt.
  10. Castle doesn't seem to want to move powers around a set too drastically, given how Electric Brutes & Stalkers didn't get Conserve Power / Energize moved to level 20, so how about changing Dimension Shift whilest sticking to the cottage rule.

Reduce the Intangibility to 8-10 seconds, make it apply a 12 second stun, after 10 seconds delay, do 0.9 BI Energy Damage after 10 seconds and do a 0.67 mag knockdown after 10 seconds.

The idea would be that snapping back out of shift should cause a system shock to those affected. The knockdown is there to convey that effect, plus it would act as a handy visual indicator that the Intangibility has worn off.

Unfortunately, he follows my player character anyway.

I originally had him set to "run to the nearest door" with an expectation that he'd leave, but of course that doesn't happen - he just runs around a corner and stays there, which makes no sense when the enemy's around.

I don't want him following the player character. He needs to stay alive to further the needs of the arc, and frankly, I don't want players getting irritated at an ally stealing their character's thunder. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix, or do I need to reset him to "run to the nearest door" and just live with it?

    Thanks.
Allies were forced to follow you because people were exploiting the "Stay there" mechanism to create Buffbots by making lots and lots of hostages with this behaviour who had Buffing powersets (which they'd fire at you once you'd rescued them). So you'd end up with a series of stacked buffs on you.

All you can do really is set them to "Run to door" to stop them following you.

Of course, now I must check out one of these servers next double XP weekend.
In all fairness the best time to play on Union or Defiant IS double XP weekend. Simply because of the fact that a lot of people on your Global list whom you haven't seen in ages should be back for it, your SG will be fairly full and the global channels will be hopping (hopefully).

Whereas if you visit the US servers chances are you'll be an anonymous face in the crowd. Plus, if you pick Freedom chances are you'll experience the awesome that is the Freedom Car Crash PuG.

I'm looking forward to seeing some old faces show up next weekend!

Actually you gave 2.7 million to your level 10 as you got charged 10% for the privilage. Come to think of it that's actually a pretty good Bank Simulator

As a chronic alt-er with not too much dosh I'd love a common account-wide Salvage & IO storage solution. SG bases are server & side only, and using Wentworths is side specific and costs you 10% of the selling price.

Yep, I've brought this one up before. Talk about a disappoinment. Thinking you're about to get some cool unique map, instead it's a bog standard Warehouse mish (in Brickstown I think?)

Yep, this is true. Plus it has a certain style when you're fighting Malta or something in the 40s and you use the wussy little power most people don't use after level 5 to toast an entire spawn.

But you can play AR/Trick Arrow Corrupters and TA/AR Defenders already (your point about it causing insanity through constant redraw is a good un though )

Try pestering BaBs to allow TA to use the Assult Rifle as alternatively animations instead, thus preventing the redraw and unifying the two together. He'll like that suggestion. Tell him it should be easy to do

Or you could just play an Archery/TA instead. They get a flamey arrow.

    Nice chart though

I'd go Fire/Storm and either Earth or Ice epic. Ice Epic now gets another AOE that's fairly decent (Frost Breath), plus Ice Storm. And the amazingly useful Hibernate for when things get messy, or you just need End after Flashfire & caging everything and summoning all those placeables. Hibernate up and let the Imps, Tornado, Freezing Rain, Lightning Storm and Ice Storm work away.

That's only 2 elements though. The Earth Epic is great too for the AOE damage & the ridiculously good Seismic Smash.

    If so, you would understand.
If you need further explanation, go back and look at all the chaos from threads that get posted by people on the heavy servers during those special events times.
Yes, it is needed. If for no other reason than to stop special event time whining.

    .
Remember, we're Yuropeens. The concept of a "heavy load server" seems strange to us
  24. I'd say Stone/Fire. Stone would benefit greatly from all that +Recharge, +Damage and all that End. Stone also gives you great spiked single target damage, which also has a boss level mez in it. You get great AOE control which doesn't knock enemies out of melee with you (very important with Fulc Shift) and some AOE in Tremor. The animation of Tremor is horrible, but in the Fault > Burn > Tremor chain it's excellent, plus it will act as a further way to keep things off your Kin.

Fire for Burn and Fiery Aura. Stone is one of the best sets for keeping things in the Burn patch via a hold, stun and lots of knockdown. Consume & Healing Flames also love lots of recharge, for when things get hairy (although with a Kin you could skip Consume altogether)

*Edit : And for the Corrupter a nice AOE Set. Ice or Fire would be my first choices, although a Dark/Kin would work really well too (another AOE stun and a Cone immob which doesn't prevent knockdown). But I found my Dark/Kin rather boring in the late 20s. Rad or Elec could work well too.
