Quote:Why would they? They didn't advertise a higher proc rate, and they stated immediately that if it was different, then that was an error.
That's not necessarily the case for the Hecatomb proc, where they have waffled.Quote:Hey all. This is an unintended benefit. I'll take a look at this today.

I didn't see anything about it - until two weeks later - in the Dev Digest from Synapse
Quote:I thought I would chime in here with a note on how PPMs work versus how standard chance procs work.
PPM (Procs Per Minute) based enhancements use a formula to determine their chance to trigger. It is possible to get a proc to trigger 100% of the time on a power if you put it into a power with a long enough recharge. That is intended.
Standard procs have a flat chance to trigger. This means it's typically more advantageous to put them into powers with very short recharge times.
In short, PPM enhancements trigger more often in powers with long recharges and standard procs trigger more often per minute in powers with short recharges. There are advantages to both.
That said, if there are PPM enhancements that grossly out perform their standard proc IO analog, then that is likely unintended and should be addressed.

I didn't see this until, maybe... Late Yesterday(?) = At the earliest.
Along with "Oh, BTW - We're gonna be selling Purples Soon!" *For the 'low-low price of' JUST (approximately) $25 per Set*
So yeah, oh sure - that's fraking balanced?, fair??, What-The-(gold)Farmer???
I'm not exactly angry = No, I'm ~uhm~(?) Okay for the sake of discussion -> Lets call it, "Appalled"... I mean Really? Seriously??*sigh*
Note: The Hecatomb Set was announced back in the I22 Beta - I just checked = So, Its a VIP BETA except for the the "ALL ACCESS" sections of the forums right?
So, everyone VIP/Subbed can read the Beta Forums?? And no one can read this that isn't supposed to be able to correct???
If not my bad please Mod gently - if you must)

Sorry but again "...likely unintended and should be addressed." - that's not really conveying any clues as to what they would/maybe=?/might do to address it, *And I had to 'dig this up' - just now = I didn't see it before... YESTERDAY?*

Quote:IIRC, you have to answer those questions anytime/everytime you're not logging in on the computer you first logged in with after the new security went into effect...This is strange. More than a year has passed since the introduction of the "new 'security' system" and I still have to answer the very same two "security questions" every time I log in to my Master Account.
Why is this? And why were NCSoft telling us that you would authorize a computer with this system when at least their designer must have known that it was merely whitelisting IP addresses? What a joke. Since 1996 I had to live with dynamic IP addresses. Is this different in S Korea and the USA? That would at least explain why they came up with this. But it would not explain why they insist on using it after getting this amount of flak.
Has anyone had success talking NCSoft into whitelisting the whole network of their ISP?
Or did they not change this because they are secretly working on a 2 factor authorisation system like in use by SWTOR and Blizzard? (little key chain thingies or apps for smart phones which generate a one time code to be used in addition to your password which is invalid after 30 seconds or so)
I think there is a way to manage it a bit if you're consistently using the same = "different"/ like a 2nd PC. -
Quote:*DING, DING, DING* = We have a winner! But why have simple when you can create ten million things for us to collect and store in our tiny vaults forcing us to purchase the in-store expansions?
I betcha they'd sell us more... Oh wait, they already (kinda) did = IF you have (or buy up in the "Tiers" to get) the "/vault command" you can buy more Salvage Vault space. Which isn't all that expensive/bad, _IF_ you have lots of Alts & play on lots of servers the cost/space rate get cheaper & cheaper - so the cost feels less like getting bent over, and more like a "deal".
On the plus side if you have the /vault command & everyone in your SG does too... Or you have a true "solo base" - You can get rid of the "Personal Storage Vault" which (iirc) costs 100,000 Prestige to place and adds to the silly "rent".
Neither of which are all that significant unless you're just starting out (or starting a new SG = maybe on a new server).
On the Definite "plus side" you can place another Enhancement Table to store an extra 100 IO's!
AND, if it's largely just a "storage base" removing the Personal Storage Vault will eliminate your need for Power/Control meaning you can ditch the Oversight Center (room) & the Combo Power/Control item!!
BETTER STILL, You don't have to worry about Base Rent until (if/when) you get locked outta your base!
See, This way there's no hassle if the SG Registrar 'decides' that your Base Rent is paid up, But for some arcane reason, you've got still got the good ole' Power/Control outage bug!
*Which a /petition to a GM = can normally solve pretty quick {If it's not a major holiday}. TBH, IDK how big a headache it its for GM's to actually do, but in my experience they're pretty familiar with it buy now.*
Note: Normally, by the time you get locked out the "bug" has resolved itself - I think the server doesn't check until you've been logged in for an hour or 2, or on more than one Alt = IF it's a SG on a Server where you haven't played/logged-in on - in a couple months. -
Quote:So the "Legacy Manner" is still able to work/function in the game,This change is indeed intended and was an inadvertently missed note. We'll correct it ASAP.
For those concerned, there should be a confirmation window that notifies you that claiming this from your mail will activate the booster. I do understand concerns about changing the way this works, however the fact that you had to search through your mail, claim it, then search through your powers list and drag it to your bar, AND THEN activate it was determined to be a suboptimal user experience.
If you previously claimed boosters, they will still be in your powers and able to be activated in the legacy manner.
Thanks!

Why the heck isn't this an Option?
This blows... -
Quote:I think it's the NCsoft folks (not the CoH folks specifically) that don't understand...I'm starting to think you guys don't really understand the idea behind "microtransactions".
I took a look at some of the Lineage II MTX stuff when it was first advertised = right about when Freedom came out (roughly), they had/have many of the same prices = 400, 800, 1600 (and the pts cost the same so it was $5, $10 , & $20).
And, I mean to tell ya - they really thought they had some nifty "stuff". There were items that cost $5 or $10 that lasted for 7 days of calendar time - not use!
As I recall there was a 'Chicken Hat' VANITY item that was 400 (or 800?) points for 7 days "use" = (what the front-door?)maybe it actually did something?? IDK it just looked horrible
I went back later and they seemed to have adjusted a few things(?). But there was still a bunch of wicked-expensive garbage!
Looked like they added a 'bonus' (a la the fraking leprechaun +10% Inf) (only less 'bonus'/more 'bogus'... To be fair I've never played Lineage II.
Still, it looked like a bunch of cra-polla aimed at fleecing the wallets of kids' parents OR maybe Otaku errhm - I mean the "Adult Swim" uber-enthusiaists with 'too much bloody money!' -
Okay, this does look spifffy!
But, somebody(?) really better re-think the pricing on future similar powers like this then... (And personally = I ain't buying it, OR the carpet travel power (not with the de-toggling crap), OR the vanity pets, OR well - I think you get my point.
I seriously suspect it's got something to do with NCsoft Korea => that AND the insane Lineage II pricing 400, 600, or 800 points for a freaking (7 days real-time) item, or even the Lineage "vanity items" are just stupid expensive!
Leveraging children's (&/or some adults) "gotta have it now"... then lose interest soon after & "gotta have the new one - now" costs be damned!
Yep, taking advantage of kids & their parents wallets/CC's (or adults with no impulse control) = IMO, That's surely gotta come with a one-way ticket to Gehenna/Hades - or at the very least a few dozen extra decades in Purgatory...
I got the Rocket Board Travel Power & some other stuff - like the barbarian bundle at a reduced price IIRC, the aura unlock, a bit of the account wide (extra storage/market slots) & the 2 extra Enh. Trays (which are overpriced) -> But... I went ahead and got them = after I dropped $100 on 9600 points when the market launched ~ in part ~ to fill out last of my the Paragon Token/Reward Tiers -> I didn't start playing around Issue 4/Jan. 2005. Before that - I'd put in a few hours on 1 character on a friend's computer while house-sitting... Okay, it was more like a couple days on a blaster - but debt was a serious PITA back then!)
I got no problem buying the new Powersets (But some of them ought to come with being a VIP - especially the ones that are mostly proliferated/remixed for another AT).
Still, someone ought tell BlackPebble, or the Korean Overlords(?) not to be too greedy - cause at some point it really builds-up resentment among the player-base. -
Quote:Whoever came up with that idea should be sacked!I get that you (Paragon Studios Marketing group) are still trying to figure out appropriate pricing. However, despite being continually told, you are constantly missing the mark. You are simply charging too much.
This is extremely over-priced for a non-combat item that can't be used with other "vanity" pet toggles (whoever came up with that particular idea should be smacked upside the head) and buff pets.
*Insert - 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' intro credits - clip here* -
Ok, good = I don't feel so creepy now (to be fair though - it's nearly 4am here), actually IDK why that would actually matter = Okay, I feel a bit creepy again.
-
This isn't working the way it previously did - As of "recently" (=IDK for sure when it bugged-out), It's SUPPOSED to "show ALL recipes that use this salvage"... And it did-so for a very long time, up until a few weeks (?) before I21/Freedom went live.
I've bugged it at least once in beta and 2 twice on live IIRC, I do wish they'd fix it ASAP - only showing you what recipes you possess or have memorized 'that use this salvage' is beyond silly...
I mean that's what the "Useful Salvage" warning/notice warning is for" = when you put salvage you can/(could) use into a market slot is for, "Recipes that use this Salvage" is for stuff like figuring out which Recipe in any given IO Set.
But, Lets say you have a Chronal Skip and seem to recall it's needed for a 'Defense PvP IO'.
It used to quickly tell you that 'Shield Wall' uses 'Chronal Skip' in "Shield Wall: Defense/Recharge - levels 41-50",
Along with which 4 out of the 6 Ragnarok recipes use it, and which 4 out of 6 Gravitational Anchor recipes use it, etc. & so on.
I hope they fix it PDQ = cause I used it all the time, and it doesn't tell you about any Recipes you have in market slots - ATM (-> last I checked = last night), It's still only telling you about Salvage for Recipes that you 'have on you' & any Memorized Common IO's that might use a piece of common salvage.
Although it was never very good about telling you what level the Recipes you have - that can use the salvage in question = actually I think that's just for Set IO's not Common IO's.
Memorized Recipes will show their level I believe - although those are relatively easy quick to learn/know - STILL, after a long late night gaming session it's not too hard to miss-remember & end up with a bunch of Common Salvage for the 'wrong' Common IO you were about to whip of a dozen of and list on the market, only to realize that Common IO is Memorized on a different alt (Doh!) -
Ditto...
They give you a 'negative stealth buff' - of some sort - IIRC it was originally meant to keep people from stealth-ing all the way thru missions.
The more recently updated NPC's like the one in 'Save the "Mystic"/fortune-teller from the CoT in Perez Park' = are reasonably competent.
But the hostages, and rescued NPCs/Allies in Newspaper/Scanner missions & Mayhem missions - are somewhat varied = "Echidna" is an example of a 'slightly improved' NPC...
She's a little less "dumber than a bag of rocks" - than previously, but she still Assassin Strike's cars/vans which then explode and if the 1st doesn't kill her the 2nd often will.
I do wish they'd give ALL of those hostage/escort/etc. NPC's - Sprint & Swift/Hurdle & a hefty Perception buff! -
Thanks,
I haven't listened to that in a long time - Great song & video...
Unfortunately, it's the best song - off of what's (arguably) their worst album = and no the 'spaghetti disaster' dosen't count -nor the garbage Axl threw together with a handful of fill-ins... -
you can do a /petition to a GM if you need to get it ASAP...
If it's during normal working hours (or anytime except a major holiday) A Gm can fx it for you pretty quick.
I've found that running around for an hour or 2 - has (In my recent experience) the SG Registrar/'Landlord' will go ahead and realize I'm overdue on rent.
When I'm not locked out of the Base Portal, but the power is off & He won't just - "Shut up and take my money!"
Soon after logging in = for the first time on any Alt in a SG, after not logging into it at all for a few months.
logging a 2nd character in and out, or waiting until about 9 or 10am CST, which (WAY back in the day), Was when the 'Daily Maintenance' used to officially end.
IDK for sure WHY = But it HAS gotten a lot easier to remedy - I rarely bother /petitioning a GM about it anymore - I've got a serious case of Alt-itis.
So... it's rarely a big deal to go thru a few more of them before it "clicks" and sends me the message in my Supergroup channel -- "Hey, your Rent is really really late -> you're locked out, so go pay now!' -

A virtual plethora of Euphemisms - WAY more offensive than any 'mundane' or 'natural profanity'.
And henceforth, It shall span the forums - both far and wide - Like unto a great sea, spread across a vast, and fathomless ocean...
Note: It's worse this way, Because you'll undoubtedly have to end up either checking Google (a dangerous prospect) or reference the urban dictionary for the latest & greatest offensive 'meme' = AND THEN, you'll undoubtedly stumble across the likes of something that Adult Minds Were Not Meant To Know!
Just saying, You were warned./handwave "Move along now, nothing to see here..."

Anyone else notice the "Present" Inspirations trying to sort themselves alphabetically = endlessly & with very little luck?
A bin full of mostly Present's does this seemingly easily (And if I'm not mistaken - it's worse if different characters put them in said Bin. Adding a certain number of other inspirations seems to "fix" it...
Well, kinda... sorta... -
/Necromancy = Puking Pets... who thought this was a good idea?
Every damned power that is "Ally Only" - Especially for Corruptor's, But it's just as bad for Defenders... Look, I understand "Support Classes" but someone was sickeningly "lets encourage teaming-happy" when they designed these!
/Warmth has what? Something like TWO powers you can use solo - that was yet another great idea!*/sarcasm*
There are several such Powersets I've never played, And/Or never intend play past IDK - maybe Level 20-something if I choose one of these sets on an old Alt for Concept reasons & don't want to re-roll them as something else = different or new?
Mostly because, I don't want to lose years of Anniversary (+ other irreplaceable) Badges & stuff (=whatever) on old Alts.
[I'm holding out for Powerset Respecs on those... Maybe with a 'reset of XP to zero' type-penalty? Anything that would save the "Old" costume, badges, temp powers, etc.]
Ditto on the sentiments above about 'Repel' & 'Intangible' Powers, I mean there's "Repel-Ball" if you're into all the setup required to do that...
And Intangible was a broken concept to begin - with so they nerfed it into a 'panic button' OR 'PvP power' = due to pvp abuses/or maybe mission stealth-ing?
And the whole nerfing of Stealth & the Anti-Stealth auto-power in missions - that doesn't even effect the Fraking NPC's you're trying to rescue/kidnap/'have follow you', But the Ambushing Mobs = of course it works for them!
Then there's the whole Stealth IO's that make that whole Power Pool all that much more trivial, & "Stealth" the -spd actually makes SuperSpeed usable in layer-cake Caves & whatnot.
Minor Positive Note:This is actually a possible solution to people with unwanted 'Speed Boost' issues.
Oh yeah, lets not leave out Invisibility's "only affect self" ='s a LotG Mule!
In fact the whole Pool is a 'single slot' LotG, (Karma/etc) Mule-Fest!
AND I'll also climb on-board the "Hasten pom-pom Hate-Train" = No FX option please?
DITTO - for all the SG Empowerment Buffs, a -KB Buff shouldn't give me the blasted - Green & Black 'shadow tendrils Aura' from head to toe - (talk about ruining a costume).
Hell, make the FX "PvP only" = (sarcasm) IF it really matters to the virtually endless Hordes of hardcore PvP'ers around here!(/sarcasm)

Quote:Is there any chance of migrating/moving a (previously trial) account to my "main" account from an alternate 'plaync account' (iirc) created using my middle name??All active accounts have already been migrated (no quotation marks needed). We're currently in the process of migrating inactive (non-subscribed) accounts.
it was from back during the 'Merry-basemass' (a big SG Prestige bump-age - 'event-thingy'),
I still have all the account details written down...
I also have a 'free' Game Code Key (the game & one month of time) for a new separate account, (given out after they shutdown T.R. which (I'll have to dig up the email = SAID could be applied to an existing account (to the best of my recollection), but I never got any sort of answer when I asked about it later on...
Matter o' fact, I have a 'free' Game Key Code (the game & one month of time) from when they shutdown AA too! - although I don't think it specifically said it was applicable to any account = in the accompanying "Sorry but we 're killing the server(s) & Oh, here's some free stuff" Email.
*I may very well have that email too* -
Quote:And that's probably the best reason NOT to make the Crafting Table account-wide, you'd be missing all the other crafting badges & the additional storage they provide, and what happens when you get those badges on an Alt?I would sell them until I get my 7000 sales badge, and then delete them from then on. I don't craft commons for any other reason than badges. Even on my non-badge-focused characters, I craft the 25/30 and 45/50 slots for increased storage (especially the 45/50 one since that affects recpies).
And seriously, there's NO WAY they'd make ALL of the crafting badges account-wide
Also, it's not a 'whole bunch of storage' anymore = compared to the amount they just give us as VIP's at Tier 8 or 9 it's pretty substantial & if you have the extra from crafting Badges, & maybe the Vanguard Bag.
Plus the salvage storage you can buy (the Extra vault space is almost reasonably priced = IF you have the /vault command - otherwise maybe not.
I think the ALL the various additional storage you can buy - adds up to like 20,000 PPoints (?=IIRC, all that plus Beam Rifle, and 1 or 2 other new things bumped up my "Wish List" to what I roughly figured would've been over $300. But that was IF you could buy the 9600 point bundle multiple times - I wonder when they'll change it to let people buy the bundles more than once?) I'd suspect it'll be quickly.
I broke down and dropped $100 for points to buy the 2 extra Enhancement Trays (I've got dozen's of characters - over lots of servers. So, it seemed "worth it" for convenience - it means no more deleting Enh's in combat (I'm a bit OCD about that) & it triples the usefulness of Respecs, and the extra Paragon Tokens - let me fill up my 'vet-tree' to Teir 9 with a few 'paragon tokens' to spare (which I hadn't even thought about beforehand.)
Uhm, back somewhat to topic, On the positive side - with /vault working in bases that lets you Delete the 100,000 Prestige Personal Vault - which takes an annoying 5 Power & 5 Control. Without that I requirement = I don't need any Power or Control at all in some of my smaller 'personal SG basses' - or for that matter the freakin Oversight Room!
And, I can drop in another Enhancement Table... -
Well, that was one only IO currently in the Paragon Store - that I was even considering paying for...
IDK, Maybe they thought/realized - "Wait no, That's actually to good to put in the store.
Using "logic" along the lines of, 'Must Not have IO's actually worth buying in the store, that'll probably pizz-off some players...
I was kinda hoping Steadfast Protection might show up too - being an uncommon set and all but - they shoved out Reactive Armor as (IIRC) the only low level uncommon instead... so there goes the other two IO's - I was thinking about 'spending points on' = (for the sake of convenience)
But, I suppose this way they'll still have some value in WW/BM. *sigh* -
Quote:Well... after reading this,
I was struck (involuntarily - I should add) by the chorus of this little tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1GHYFYqeJw -
Quote:THANK YOU, finally somebody said it!Since when is soloing easier than teaming? If anything the opposite is true, teams often tend to be steamrollers.
Teams aren't harder - they're more tedious & maybe patience-wrecking = Not Exactly => "Harder"...

Quote:To me it looks alot like 'Space Ace'...Oh, now why would there be 'eye bee tee el' involved? It's not even a competitor at this point.
I don't think it will be, honestly... too... Tabula Rasa lookin'.
Like the graphics, though and the trailer is pretty nifty... Although, as expected, the game play vs the trailer? Not the same. At all.
Do like the Firefly vibe of it though. I may get in just to see, but like (the game what's name shall not be mentioned), I expect I won't like it and be right back here as is my modus operandii. -
Quote:What if we have trial/"alt" accounts with characters on/in them? Not true. There are MANY good names locked to trial accounts. They really should take this time to unreserve all names locked to trial accounts.
This was *previously* and during "Re-Activation Events" the only way to invite Alts to our SG's... (Apart from having a 2nd Subscription = which I'd refuse to do on principle alone, even IF I could remotely justify the expense!)
And to preempt any incoming arguments/comments about "Trial Characters can't join SG's" ,"can't invite other toons to SG''s", etc.
(*Last time I checked* during a reactivation) it was not true = IF the 'Trial Toon' was already a member of said SG, prior to all that anti-goldfarmer stuff going in - and if the trial account was/is "in good standing"!
So... to re-iterate
1. Any chance we can snag trial characters (Maybe even if it's just the costumes - which we might be able to do now - if we could load up the trial account with the toons, go to the Tailor & "save" the costume client-side(?) and reload the costumes into our active accounts from the saved files?? TBH, IDK if that's even plausibleor if there's something similarly workable.
2. With all the 'certificate thingys', *technical term*- and whatnot...
It can't help but think that "Glee-mailing" ourselves SG Invites would be possible now.
How About it War Witch? Come on throw us a bone here... Please?
EDIT
3. I suppose I should ask for a method to move a trial account (over to my main "PlayNC" (NCSoft) account) I like MANY others - created 'new trial accounts' both to pad new SG's Prestige (to get the 20K per each of the first 20 SG alts/members) & ALSO to Invite Alts from my "Main Account" into my 'solo/personal' SGs.
Due to the temporary nature (2 week usefulness) of these trial accounts = in the past, back when Toons from trial accounts could still join SGs AND send out invites to your main account if you were running two instances of the client...
Well, that lead to a number of trial accounts (not so much with great names - although this was a way to place-hold names on a specific server) normally I used generic names - tied/similar to the 'Global Name' of the trial account in question. Particularly back when "Merry Base-mas" happened a couple years back.
I actually have an unused CoH Code Key attached to my account - a gift from the death of another NCSoft game - And while I believe I have the Original E-mail from a couple years ago - somewhere, Where its says " this code can be used on ANY NCSoft account". BUT even though, I've sent PMs and Emails to a number of Devs, tech support, etc. = More than once -> about applying this "freebie code Key" to a Trial Account, I've had no such luck!
The issue I can't seem to make work, and have never got any help, or even response to is - HOW exactly do I manage to finagle upgrading a Trial Account (created via a NCsoft Account using my middle name rather than my first name) with the Code Key and Successfully Move that newly upgraded CoH account over to my "real/main account" - I.E. The one that I actually pay for my subscription with??? -
Yep, this should be on the table ASAP... If I'm not mistaken it was hinted at being plausible (maybe even 'possibly upcoming'?) not long ago in a Con/Web video or post iirc.
