invul/ss tanks have always been generally pretty strong despite the nerfs. its also a good build for roleplaying as there's a lot of heroes you can make with the idea of invulnerability...imo :P
only problem is that only a few of the ss powers actually make you look as if your superstrong. i would take energy melee instead as a) energy melee looks a lot more impressive (glowie fists wooo)! b) in the latter levels of you tanker's existence a number of mobs have resistance to smash/lethal. -
This is a sad moment friend.
Good and bad times we've experienced throughout the game, but I still hold you in high regard as a player (or playaaa ...fo schizzle!) and CoH friend.
Countless times I've seen you show acts of consideration and generosity (quite a lot of times I've exploited...how much inf do I owe you? :P).
A good leader amongst the heroes of Paragon City. Like you're namesake (Ether KNIGHT), you are noble and worthy of the title "hero". Your prescence was felt in the times when City of Heroes UK was still young and naive. You're someone who'll be remembered by the few (Beta and release date starters) who still remain here despite the inevitable goodbye.
Pre-farewell before your eventual departure from the shores of Paragon City.

ps...since you're leaving I don't have to pay you back now do I? ^_^ -

never really had a problem against brutes in pvp..however the only alts i've played in there are my defender, tank and two scrappers.
a swift brawl hit in you attack chain is a good bet of knocking their toggles.
capt can go one on one with a brute, dropping his acc and def pretty drastically with the amount of hamios i have ^_^ . Then its down to how well my cosmic burst goes as my other attacks from lvl1-40 are pretty weak (designed more for def debuff).
i'm more sucessful with my ma/sr scrapper, as my mez protection doesn't drop followed my my defences unless i don't have it on auto-click, plus the primary attacks do a lot of disorients.
like people have said...take them down as quick as possible. any drawn out battles will result in them getting stronger. -
Fresh meat for the grinder!
...I mean, welcome to the forums and the Defiant server! Excellent choice in coming to Defiant rather Onion, although they're not really that bad over there.
There's some good guides in regards to blasters on these forums, however most of them have been used and modified from the US forums.
US Blaster Guides
Be advised a number of these guides are pre-issue6, therefore may not have the information you may want for nhancement Diversification.
If you're looking for a SuperGroup, there are a lot of people here who shamelessly likes to plug their SG (...me included :P ), so finding one won't be so difficult. The GoEH (Guild of Extreme Heroes) have several ex-SWG players (...me included...again) who I'm sure will make you feel at home.
Make sure your hands and feet are inside the cockpit, as we wish you a pleasant flight here onboard the server Defiant.

Cobra Strike is one of those things I'm split over - I rarely use it for PvE, and I'm not sure of it's PvP usefulness.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently very good power for Stalker. It provides a high magnitude of disorientate (100% I've heard)and -fly/jump. Coupled with a lucky Eagle's Claw strike (about 60% disorientate) will stack against bosses. I can imagine it to be quite useful in PvP and solo PvE missions.
The damage of the power is laughable, but a lot more effective than Air Superiority...therefore you can take Flurry ( yes i know you don't like it...but more dmg and disorientate ^_^ ), then whirlwind!
Speedster, Ho! -
Apologies for not having our own SG forum, but thought I'd post some information whilst I'm away from the game and can't access our MoTD boards in our SG.
Work permitting I should be back in the game next week (week commencing 5th Dec)...hopefully. However during my absence you may see my alts moving about as I've given my gf full access of my account whilst I'm away...so play nice!
SG Base:
=========
Currently work in progress. The decorational items have been removed and we shall soon replace them with functional items such as power generator, database and crafting tables.
We have disabled coalition entry whilst this is begin worked on. Hopefully up and running within the next week or so.
Academy Base:
==============
This is open for all GoEH members to modify as much as they like since the Guild base is being managed by the leaders. Send Blizzaria or myself a tell to invite an alt into the Academy so you can have access to some sort of base building. It currently has about 200k prestige to play around with.
Remember to have access to the base and be able to modify they Acedemy base you'll need to have earned some influence for the Guild.
Events:
========
I believe Blizzaria has some community events lined up for the Christmas for the Christmas period. Those with additional ideas for community and sg events, send either myself or Blizzria a pm or in game email on your proposition and we'll see if we can get it off the ground.
GoEH Website:
==============
Hehe...I'm still working on this.Too much work for uni + work = not much time for anything else. As soon this is up and running, full details of the Guild will be present for you to read along with the bio's and pictures that i've been sent during the past few months.
I'm also wanting to do a member artwork section for the website, so if you have any interesting artwork you want displayed email them across to me (captain_solaris@hotmail.co.uk) when you get the chance.
Also new members to the Guild not yet submitted details of their characters to me, could you send a picture of your toon and the following information when you get the chance.
Name of Character:
Origin:
Archetype:
Primary:
Secondary:
Epic: *if applicable
Bio: *make up a little backstory about your alt. not overly important but would be nice for the website
Strengths: *what are the good points of your chracter
Weaknesses: *what are the bad points...if any...of your character
ps: if any member wants to take ownership of the website say so and will pass you the information...and there's lots...it will greatly help in getting this website finaly up and running ^_^
Cheers guys. Will be back soon.

sorry to break up the interesting conversation you guys were having :/

Hehe...your build is almost similar to my proposed speedster. Great fun to play with all the suicide aspects you seem to be going for. ^_^
You could get the power mastery epics as your last 3 powers and give you some relief in terms of endurance and acc.
Or you could go for the speed power pool and get some fun powers to play with. Flurry gives out a higher dmg output compared to Air Superiority and also has the chance of disrientating foes. Whirlwind a hilarious and useful power. Hasten not essentially needed providing you have quickness slotted with 3 run speed SOs.

These 3 are toggles the FF and FS will be run practically all th etime so I would slot in a couple of end reducers. Also by the time I was able to get Evasion I never really bothered, might have hurt with the splash damage from malta and Nemessis but never seamed to mind it.

ma/sr scrapper now lvl35. i ended up taking whirlwind instead of evasion at lvl34 instead of going with the intended build above. mainly because its a lot more fun, plus like misterj, AoEs didn't seemed to affect (bother) me during missions.
as for the end reducs in the fs & ff, originally had them in prior to respec'ing at lvl 32. to me the endurance used by the two toggles was hardly registered, therefore i went without end reducs. it was my attacks that caused the most endurance use...however at my current lvl, i find in missions solo'ing, my endurance isn't much of a bother.

I don't roleplay myself, although have tried in the past. I've witnessed some of my mates immerse themselves in it and it does look like fun. Definately get in on high-five'ing and shouts of "whoo!"...but I'd do that anyway regardless if I was roleplaying or not ^_^

Ahh if only we had known this sooner.
I, Gabriel Knight, have origins of vampirism.
During my living years I was a seeker of artifacts of great mystique and wonderment. On the day of my last moments of living I had stumbled across a mystical broadsword. Running my fingers across its ornate blade I found it was still sharp despite it aged appearance. Blood trickled onto the blade and seemed to absorb into it. A crimson glow began to eminate from the sword. Capitvated by the light I came closer only to be knocked back by a forceful flash of light. From that light came forth the image of a woman, dark and enigmatic. There I came to realise that this artifact had imprisoned the demon Alouqua for centuries. Once the blade had tasted human blood once again, she was able to escape from its mystical shell. For releasing her from this prison, she "generously" took my life and empowered me with the strengths (and weaknesses) of a vampire.
We fight for neither good or evil, however our loyalties are now set with the Guild of Extreme Heroes. Everyday we fight for survival, as the blade must have its fill from the blood of evil, otherwise it will imprison Alouqua once again, nulling her power over me and the magic that keeps me "living".

that's a good idea which i've never thought about doing. i can imagine it could work.
i did something similar with my tank a while ago where i respec'd in assualt to give me a better damage output.

So I'm sorry I have to disagree, you go back to I3 and so have a different perspective. The I4 nerf hit when I was too low lvl to notice it and so my persepctive is almost purely I5 and whilst I realise why you may not enjoy your regen scrapper anymore he is still a very powerful addition to any team.
[/ QUOTE ]
I teamed with Cap alot back in I3 and back then Regen wasn't an addition to the team it was the team. I could happily load a mission for 6-8 people and walk through it alone (yes we were hidesouly overpowered). Regen still is good, its just not God anymore.

In my opinion Regen has had their day. i3 Regens had an almost godly aura about them. As soon as the chips were down and the team were failing you'd see the Regen scrapper raise his fist in the air accompanied by angels singing "ahhhh" around him. Then you'd see him wading into the fracas...ahh, poetry in motion! With this said, I may have enjoyed Regen better pre-nerfs. purely for having that god-like quality.
[/ QUOTE ]
Had their day? A regen scrapper will kick an SR scrapper's ar5e up and down the streets of Warburg. I know, I've done it. Both in Warburg and in the arena. The latter can't match the former head to head.
Having said that I don't know how the SR performs in PvE. I do know my 42nd kat/regen can and has taken on 20 equal lvl mobs (rikti minions) and walked away without popping a signle insp. Which, imho aint too shabby. I've seen him survive when he's so surrounded by Crey I can barely see him (I lost count at 25 and there were LTs in that lot), although that one took a lot os insps to stay in the fight.

My comment was merely my light-hearted insight into the "Golden Era" for Regen scrappers. I'm fully aware of how strong Regen scrappers are still...especially in comparison to SR.
In regards to PvP, I've pitted my Regen scrapper against Kianna Cyr (DM/SR) and couldn't lay a hit on her and that was with 2acc enhancement in my attacks. My SR scrapper seems to have more success in PvE.
My Regen scrapper was created when i4 came about and didn't get above lvl36 until after i5. The only experience I've had of MoG in its hayday was from top Regen'ers at that time (such as Ether Knight *scoff*, xLr, Mr ?, Dark Steel ...to name a few). I definately do enjoy my Regen scrapper...however with my style of play I prefer playing SR.

I have both a Regen (lvl42) and SR (lvl35) scrapper on my account.
Although personally, I'm having a lot more fun using SR. A lot of risk taken, but all the more satisfying whilst you stand over a large(ish) mob of +3 villains with your health bar dangerously kissing the darker end of red.
In my opinion Regen has had their day. i3 Regens had an almost godly aura about them. As soon as the chips were down and the team were failing you'd see the Regen scrapper raise his fist in the air accompanied by angels singing "ahhhh" around him. Amauro's Super Reflexes Guide, version 2.0
This guy gives an indepth look of Super Reflexes. *pls note that this is pre-ED slotting...however the guide still proves useful in regards to what a SR scrapper is all about.
Passives provide about a 5% base DEF (maximum of about 8% when 3 slotted). Despite being so low, once combined with other passives and toggles, it provides you with a good defence.
You're more likely to take you chances with SR and hope you don't get hit, therefore if you solo most of the time, make sure you get "Quickness" and/or "Swift" to give you a good chance of running away.
Currently lvl35, my SR scrapper is based on pure speed and don't usually hot tail it out of a battle unless my health is way deep in red. Having played it frequently, you'll realise which enemies you can test your luck with more than others.

from US Forums
Q7: How does Rent work?
A7: Rent is a regressive "tax" on the total value of assets belonging to your supergroup. Once bases are enabled, your group will face a regular (as of this writing, it's not clear wether it's biweekly or monthly) tax on your assets. This tax must be paid at the same contact you used to register your supergroup. The assets used for calculating this tax include not just what you own in your base, but also "banked" Prestige as well! The tax rate begins at 1%, and increases to a maximum of around 3.5% at a gross amount of Prestige (170million).
Q8: What happens if I don't/can't pay rent on my base?
A8: Some of your functional items will stop working until you cough up the rent. There is no "item decay", so your base will not go away if rent isn't paid. You can even continue crafting and building in your base. It's not clear as of this writing precisely what parts of the base stop working when rent is not paid, but it almost certainly includes all raiding functionality.
Q9: How deep in debt can I get with rent?
A9: Rent is "capped" at one rent cycle. In other words, if you miss a rent bill, you will not continue to get bills. It is not known as of this writing wether rent is recalculated every month (ie, wether, when you have a rent bill due and don't pay it for several months while continuing to earn Prestige, wether the bill will be recalculated to tax that new income).
Q10: How can my SG pay rent?
A10: You pay rent at the same place that you used to register the SG and get the base in the first place. Any member of your SG with sufficient priveledges can pay rent - it doesn't come from their personal assets, but from the SG's Prestige. You must physically meet that contact to pay.
Q11: Isn't that kind of annoying?
A11: Yes.
