    Oh no, this is in response to people like Tic Toc, and jennikins, you know people that think skill is an exploit, I grabbed Arcanavilles post to highlight the absurdity of "EVERYTHINS AN EXPLOIT" that people like to go to when the chips are down and they didnt think of it first

    Invulnerability gets hammered pretty well. Most of that set's non-S/L mitigation comes from Invincibility. Slotted up and surrounded by enemies ( needs 10 to cap it ) gets you right around 30% Defense. When Rage drops it is a -20% to Defense. The Rage drop causes Invincibility to stop effecting mobs so it stops granting the Defense bonus. This takes you from 30% to -20% Defense. I'm not sure about Ice but if that set gives you 30% with your armors you would still have 10% Defense.

    Rage can amount to up to about a -50% Defense Penalty for Invulnerability Tankers.

    Keep in mind that another part of the damage mitigation in the Ice set comes from the Chilling Embrace damage debuff, which also stops affecting enemies during the Rage crash.

    Theoretically, Ice Armor can duck the rage crash by hibernating. Since you can't affect anything else anyway, there's no cost to hibernate, and you are invulnerable while hibernating. And it cycles fast enough to be available every rage crash, with appropriate slotting.

    Also: hibernate has +recovery. My guess is that ten seconds of hibernation gets you close to a full bar of endurance.

    Inventions are an IF and a very big if.....hell i can code inventions to be exactly like Titan So's....right no one knows about those because they truly suck. ED was balanced around the fact that we would get new enhancment types....except we suffered ED and havent seen but a glimpse of inventions.......
    Inventions were also scheduled way back when, i4 i think but got put off because of the not fun factor......which is Dev speak for "we couldnt make them suck time out of you guys".....conjecture was because the dev team couldnt make them suck enough to be worthless and take up timesink hours for people to try and get them.

    Bingo. That pretty much nails our design on bases. We're slowly but surely making additions and changes based on feedback & data. We'll get there...I think bases are a case study where a design didn't mesh well with actual gameplay! For some odd reason, some posters have thought my Serious Games speech blamed the players; heck no! Bases are 100% a DESIGN problem. Not a player problem.

    I'm offended. Suppose a red name wrote they won't be spending time on badges (minority group) or bases (another minority group)? We all have opinions on what we'd like the devs to spend time on, but I think it is absurdly rude to come into the PvP forum and essentially kick all the PvPers in the head when a red name has just told them that they don't matter.

    The intention of my post was not to dash all hopes of any change in PvP, but to help illustrate why those changes hadn't been a hot topic with design. I know that a lot of their time, when it isn't currently spent getting Issue 8 out the door, is working on some of the very broad and exciting stuff coming in issue 9 that will add a lot to the game over all (inventions + other goodies).

    I do really like the suggestion about trying to re-use the old event where everyone got a level 40 on Training Room to come PvP with. That sounds like it might have some good broad appeal and make for a pretty darn fun weekend. Of course, I haven't investigated it with the dev team and it might not be possible, but still a good idea to follow up on. Besides, I'd like to play a few different Archetypes myself at lvl 40 with a hord of other folks to blast at or along side with. Let's try and focus the discussion on things we can do under the current systems?

    Eliminating all the temp powers and bonus xp in PvP zones then adding debt back in? That would be wonderful.

    I could go on, heck the dev team is making quite a few of those come true to deter people from the pvp zones.

  10. I pulled with nova. Twice. Didnt die either time. Was funny and i didnt kill anything.....or even really hurt the antimatter bots........+4 or more to me.

  11. Bases cost too much. As usual Jack you overvalued bases and devalued players.

    A minimal base with just teleporters and a rez ring is astronomical....considering for 24 lvls we get 13 prestige a kill......or less.

    The items that dont affect game play (costume like options) cost 1000 a piece....take up space. Teleporters are glaringly huge. You have to almost be a puzzle master in some rooms to get anything looking decent to fit inside.

    The medbay with its 2 by 2 room....Looks awfully huge when you can really only afford to put one rez ring in there. Which is all a small base needs................but why in the hell is the room so freaking huge? Why is a teleporter so huge but a rez ring so small?

    That last point goes on to many other things, Workshops. The workroom that can hold 3 things or so is over crowded, but the the next size up can hold 4 things and is almost 3 by 3. Its a hodge podge and you know it.

    Actually look at bases, dont belittle the player base with your snide remarks and think were stupid. Were not the stupid ones......its you thats come back time and again with your half baked plans like boss changes, AV regen rates and that damn Regen scrapper video that clearly shows you dont have the foggiest clue whats going on in the Live version of the game.

  15. For all you dev butt kissers......two words...Hover snipe. Guess what guys, you can hover out of range on many low lvl foes...snipe rinse repeat NO RISK/Lots of reward. PVP 3 slot Hover with Do's....it aint fast but damn its manuverable......Now that Sj and SS have an Acc penalty....go with the Hover to keep out of peoples reach blasters will be the kings again. Good job Statesnerf With your constant effort we "no nothing forum whiners" are still one step ahead of ya!!! Maybe its time you stop beta testing this game and actually release it on the market....oh wait

    PS: I know most of these changes will be rolled back....the guys that pay his bills...ie the casual gamer....is gonna be boned by all these changes...cry foul and States will have to wake up from his dreamy nerfherding.....it will be beautiful

Is there any changes to PvP that hasnt affected PvE? There are WAAAAAYYYYY TOO MANY NERFS because of Pvp Affecting PvE. Are some reasonable? Maybe fear. Are your code monkies that incompetent that you cant get the game to recognize "Arena" and "PvE"? Maybe its time you hire a new staff.....you know, one that will cut the mustard...instead of sheltering them like youre that fool manager on dilbert....

    Sweet now i know i can take out 20+ minions at 30.....so as soon as my scrapper hits 30, im gonna bug it everytime i goto the hospital....do i get my debt reset?
    Also noticed there was alot of 0's in the boss spot...does that mean the boss whacked the tester?

    and they are all fun States, the min/maxers are the ones that dont find any fun with certain things....
    Blasters are currently balanced even against scrappers. The only issue is the rooting on alot of the powers or long activation times.
    Im sure the min/maxers or wanna be tankmages want status protection, higher damage, the ability to turn on god mode and just level like mad....but lets be real, Blasters are glass cannons...They dont need all those melee attacks, and ranged people do avoid them like the plague, but hey not every set has ultra 'teh uber' powers....look at force field to find that.
    Blasters currently have the highest damage output in the game, do they really need more? How much more damage do they need? Why not give them so much damage they always one shot even con minions with thier lowest level aoe.....and scale it up from there.....oh that would be awesome....no risk/ lots of reward....woot

    When I play in the hollows, Its the only way to travel!!!!!
    done it so many times i cant count....of course its another reason for me to stay away from the hollows. Missions always spawn at the back of the zone now.

    Tactics slot to taste.
    I have found that without at least an end redux in them both together use quite a bit of end on my toggle invun tank.....but my regen scrapper with 6 slotted Qr and unslotted Stamina can function fine without the extra slot.......

    I think all this effort into curbing powerlevelers is a waste of resources. Plvlers will find out how to do whatever they want with the tools at hand. This hampers a few plvling techniques, but exacts a tangible cost to players in terms of freedom to play how they want. Overall, I don't think this will have any real effect on plvling. They'll go do their outdoor mission maps, and players doing content will have to do their "Kill 150 Crey" hunt missions in a big group because you wanted to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

    I don't buy the plvling hurts the game argument because what it really comes down to is "Is the content interesting enough to curb Plvling?" For a lot of players it is. For some players, it doesn't matter, they'll always plvl. For some, they have half a dozen toons over lvl 40, and they've done every mission, badge, story arc, TF, trial, etc. 3-4 times, and they just want to play with a new AT/build.

    You're trying to tell people how to play the game, even though they're playing well within the confines of your world. If its not griefing, and doesn't violate the CoC/ToS, either leave it alone, or make it an exploit. To me, tram plvlers are like RP'ers in Galaxy. Its not how I chose to play the game, but it doesn't bother me one bit. Some people are going to do only missions for their xp (until mid 30's when you start running out) because it makes them feel heroic. Some are gonna roll up a Taxi Bot and recall people all day. Some will host a play in Perez Park, and some will sit all day while getting plvled by a friend or 2nd account.

    Lastly, a quick question: How does this effect badge credit? I NEVER do hunt badges within 300 yds of my teammates, often a mile or more away. Like many players, I've put a lot of time into collecting my hunt badges, solo and in teams. I currently have all of them (except for isolator, which I did not have the option of getting). If I had to stay close to teamates to get badge credit however, I definitely wouldn't have bothered with many of them.

    You have nailed it on the head, i can only add that Extra code means extra bugs/lag. This is Thick headed. The plers have already given fine examples of how to circumvent this.....What exactly are the devs trying to cure now?
  23. Its amazing how people will say "this sucks" without giving a reason why.....heck an Empath sucks if said emapth doesnt have his heals slotted and just went and slotted super jump.

    Manuevers stacks.... 6% fully slotted gives about 12% per person running it (assuming low 1 5 slotting and white enhancments) k, lets assume 10 % per person, more for defenders less for everyone else......10 times 4 (good easy to manage group) equals 40% defense vs everything. ITs a buff, not a debuff so it doesnt get the double shaft. Thats like having two bubble defenders in your group double bubbling everyone and if you have a bubble defender it just makes defense even more insane(vs everything but psi). Now lets go extreme......8man team. yep 80% and all you have to do is stick together, and heal the odd hit or wait for your natural regen to take care of it, because unless your fighting more than +4 to you, it just isnt hitting you that much.

    Yep Manuevers sucks its the suckiest power in the game no one should ever take it or slot it.....but for those of us who team i suggest everyone should get it....when you do its the next big nerf
