Oh sorry -
Freedom server, although this could be set up on any server depending on interest.
star - yeah, got it. -
Hey all-
Like many of us badgers, I am not much of a PvPer. I just recently discovered that I need the Forward Observer badge on my main. This is the one for 100 rep in PvP.
I suggest the following:
A group of people that need this badge get together in a pre-arranged zone and time and proceed to beat each other to death in a fashion to maximize our rep. Two groups would be ideal, with each of us cycling through the other team in order to overcome the timer that prevents you from getting rep for repeated defeats.
I am on Freedom server, but interested parties can organize this on any server.
The rep degradation is something like 2 per 24 hours, so if needed we could even split this over one or more nights. Those interested in the Disruptor badge (400 rep) could continue as needed until all have that particular badge.
If interested, please post here and we can start talking about a place and time.
Thanks! -
"thats was you can do with lots of money and time on your hands"
Actually, looking at it it doesn't look all that expensive. Of course, it depends on one's definiton of "expensive". Lots of time spent, definitely. We'd have to see an overhead to get a good estimate of total costs. -
Well done! Cool theme and you did a good job with the tools we have.

BB-
Thanks for the response - it does help.
Do you get rep only in zones or is it also for arena? -
Thanks, Quint. Here's to swimming with bow-legged women.

Hey all-
I'm not really a PvPer, but I have spent a lot of time in those zones for badges and hunting and such. I've also been in quite a few skirmishes, so I am familiar with how PvP works since issue 13.
I want to earn the 100 rep badge. My question is, how long would something like that take? Solo or on a team? The character in question is an ice/rad controller that has a second build to max out on resistance to make him tougher.
I understand rep decays over time, and I understand that you will get less rep on a team vs solo. Assuming I got on good teams, and there was plenty of fighting going on, how long would you think it would take to get a rep of 100?
Thanks in advance for your replies. -
Quote:Heya, Turg! And some I've never seen before either. I need to pay more attention.
(Heya, CaptA.)
Yeah, I got one the other day "Backup Radio" - it's a pet summoning depending on alignment. It lists vigilantes and such, but for heroes you can summon a PPD Hardsuit for 5 minutes. It has 10 uses. I also got a "Recovery Serum" which boosts END-recovery. I believe there is also one for rezzing other people.
Cool stuff! I love temp powers. -
I expect they have increased the rate of temp power drops so that the market could get stocked up. There's some pretty cool ones in there.

There ya go folks - the chance at a stacker original in your base. Jump on that if you can. I can personally atest to the fact that this guy is a top tier base builder.

Maybe part of the issue is that the devs think we are expecting a huge chunk of stuff all at the same time. I'd be happy if they could just give us a few small things each patch, or at least in some patches. Every new issue could include SOME stuff. I mean, emotes are fine and all, but how much do they really add to the game? Certainly less than a market interface for bases, or a tailor. It seems to me the time spent on one emote could be used to import some decorative items into the editor. I really find it hard to believe that minor moves like that would really make a huge dent in their schedules. A trickle over a long period is better than nothing at all.

The Base building community was the one held up as the "example of how to organize" before Issue 13 when the PvP crowd was up in arms. The PvP crowd then started to get their concerns together like we do, and then the PvP system was revamped. Unfortunately for them, they didn't get what they wanted. I'm a little worried about what could happen to the base building system if we get that kind of attention, but I am willing to take the risk.

I seem to remember chatter here about that tab some time ago, but nothing was ever done with it. I don't think it's all that new.

I've just recently started adding "secret" areas to my base. I have 2 now, and am looking for other areas where I can add them. The real fun is when you give a tour and people miss them.
Edit: As of this post, I go from "Legend" to "Renowned". Yeah, baby. -
I would like these to be global badges for sure. My badger was created about 1 month after the Celebrant badge was closed, and because of that there are 2 badges I cannot get. The other, of course, is the gladiator badge for the 5th Column soldier you get when you have the 1-year and 2-year anniversary badges.
Hell, I'd even be happy to pay for it for that one character, since my account was active almost a year before the 1st anniversary. I would only support purchases for accounts that were active at the appropriate time. -
I went with Demons/Poison. Am I crazy? I have two MMs but not tons of CoV experience. Just wondering what others think of the poison set.
-
Agreed. I think devoting a dev to a week of knocking out lots of little things like this for base builders would be a very nice thing to do, and would go a long way to quelling our fears of being ignored.

It should be easy enough to add a "no symbol" option to the SG logos so we could have clear glass.
-
I believe it's the last mission of the second arc. I should have said "starring your doppelganger" instead of you, but since it is your twin it looks cool.
-
Solo'd these last night on my Ice/Rad controller and really enjoyed them. I especially liked the "ear microphone messages" and the cutscene with you as the star. Very well done, Devs.
-
After getting all the new explores, my badger is at 759 as of last night. I'm hoping to get the new Posi ones tonight or maybe the ones for the new story arcs.
Update: as of 5/1/10 I have 764. I still need two master TF badges and that will pretty much brick wall me until Going Rogue. -
I don't see them as building community at all. I have been on nothing but failed MoSTF attempts, and I can tell you that I've never felt good about the effort at the end.
