  1. Most definitely! Let me know your global and we'll make it happen.
  2. Hey, thanks for the comments. It's nice to get some good feedback. I see what you are saying about the display cases. In that room, they are meant to be more like weapon racks rather than trophies. However, I think I will drop a few lights in there.

If you ever want a real tour, let me know. The global is @Dr. Feedback - the base is on Freedom server.
  3. One of my sg members went ahead and made a video tour of our base. I think he did a pretty good job. Take a look here.
  4. The only items that will accept other items are in the "Desks" tab. Items from arcane, tech, room details, etc. (if they are small enough) will fit on these desks. Not all items in the desks tab will accept items.

All I can tell you is to follow these guidelines and learn by trial and error. Some say that moving the camera to an "above" view makes it easier. After mastering this skill it's not necessary, but it should help when first trying this.
  5. I believe you have to have base-editing privledges, as well as at least a million inf saved. Go to the sg registrar and he will give you the option to donate.

omg i could never do that

It beats having nothing. In a small base, doing a quick edit takes less than a minute. Sure beats taking the trains and ferry from PI to AP.
  7. I've mentioned this idea a few times. I think it is a good one, since those that want a little space for themselves can have one. However, I think with it should be a small storage section - maybe 25-50 items total. Maybe salvage/enhs/insps all in one thing. Call it a "footlocker" or something. It allows people to store HOs or whatever without having to worry about them in the sg base storage. Other than that, the room would be 3x3 or 4x4 and purely decorative. The footlocker could maybe be a crafted item or a reward for something. Anyway, I think it solves some problems.

And MadScientist, I'm sorry, but having "group" space controlled by everyone is neither practical not advisable. It invites chaos. I really can think of no way around that problem. Someone on another thread mentioned that the majority of the playerbase really is not interested in base design or decorating. I think this is true. Most people seem only interested in playing the game and levelling without worrying about the special problems inherent to base design. It'a a labor of love, really. Why else would anyone want to deal with the headache? The raid pathing rules alone make me want to put my fist through the screen everytime I edit.
  8. Yes, provided the rooms you have will fit on the smaller plot.
  9. It's not water. Just creative coloring and a defensive item to create the ripple effect.
  10. They need to have the defensive and control items have versions that are purely decorative. Too many cool-looking things there that are going to be unavailable for a large number of bases.
  11. Seriously, I wouldn't look for it before issue 8. The devs had said previously that it would be open 5 days out of every 60. I'm not sure where the previous poster got one week a month, but maybe they heard something else.

As it stands right now, on the hero side it's not even worth having a supergroup computer.

Frankly, I'm kind of baffled as to why anyone would want to risk their prestige over a paltry 1% boost from an IoP. I dislike PvP as it is. Unless there is a MAJOR overhaul to the IoP system as it has been described previously, I will not be interested in the slightest.
  12. I deleted 3 also! But I don't care! The 900k or so that I needed in order to complete my base as desired is now in the bank.

    Thanks devs!
  13. Nice guide.

It should also be noted that a level 50 blaster can go to Atlas Park and slap around level 1 baddies with Power Thrust for endless amusement. I think I measured the knockback to be something like 180 yards once. This, in my opinion, beats dancing under Atlas any day of the week. Have fun.
  14. These things are just sad. I only use them to refine salvage. IF they used regular, unrefined salvage, I could see some benefit. Using components is just bad design. The buffs are weak, they don't last long enough, and go into effect immediately. Bad design.

I wish that they would let you use the special salvage that is used for base defenses. You know, like "spells of power" and whatnot. It would allow us to get rid of that stuff if we are not planning on raiding or building defenses. Even with the buffs as weak as they are, I would be happy to burn up some of that stuff.
  15. I crafted up a flight speed boost the other day just to see what kind of increased speed I could get. The toon in question was my 32 troller. I think he has two SOs in flight speed. I keyed up the empowerment station and got zapped.....only to find no noticeable upgrade in speed.

I was a little shocked to find that the stations still use refined components for the buffs. I thought that this was changed to allow for the use of actual salvage, but I suppose I was incorrect on that score. So now we use up components which are somewhat more difficult to obtain than just salvage. And for the cost of two of these components I get what? No noticeable boost? For two components, I should get max or close to max flight speed for the 15 minutes I get. Just my opinion, but it seems fair to me.

I have all the base pictures saved on my SG website. I would love to show mine base but my memebers disagree (we are assassins we like to lay low). and our base changes every week (month if everyone likes it)
    sorry
    Q
how do you take pictures in game?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't you kind of need to know that if you have all your pictures saved on your sg website?

The answer is the "print screen" button. They're saved in your "screenshots" folder in the CoH folder.

    - It is entirely possible that the badge you are struggling for no longer exists / never existed, does this invalidate your efforts?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No...i was more refering to badges like Archmage Badge Accolade and such. 200 Pantheon Masks and 200 Illusionist Decoys, think about it for a minute...

    [/ QUOTE ]

BP masks are easy. They come out at night in TI near the DA gate. Get 4-6 friends in a team, patrol that city section at night, and rinse and repeat until you all have the badge. It usually takes 3-5 night cycles.

Illusions, on the other hand, are a collosal pain. My suggestion is to find someone with a carnie mission, get a team of 8, and farm it. Master Illusionists are hard to kill, so you can clear the map of everything else and just go to town on the spawned illusions. It might take a few hours. Good luck!
  19. As it is, it looks like you need that workroom for the new stuff.

The 8x8 plot really kills any flexibility in base building. The main problem is the restriction of having to deal with the 1x1 doors. For instance, here is the layout for my base. I do not have a permanent workroom, because frankly, for the small SG they are pretty useless. When needed, I simply delete my infirmary and put in a workshop to refine salvage, whatever. Then I rebuild the infirmary. Simple enough. However, in order to add a permanent workroom and yet keep all other functionality, I would have to remove my decorative space and reduce it to a 2x2 room. So, I am left with a base that is totally functional that I don't really like. Or, I have a base I like without all the functionality. I think it sucks either way.

When I heard about the new stuff, I was hoping that they would not need a workroom. I am disappointed that my suspicions were proven correct. When I designed my base, I had several concepts in mind, and central to these was that it had to look like the group could (or did) actually live there. I guess I just like the idea of "immersion" when you put a group and a base together. I see plenty of bases that I think are nice, but the overall theme of functionality is too restrictive. I think we need more space to be creative.

The best way to solve this problem in my opinion is to make the initial plot size 8x12 (or at least make it ALOT cheaper). That's enough room to have all the functionality you want as well as some flexibility in design. Nobody loses. For those groups that have already upgraded - refund their prestige and let them move on. New groups get to get a better base quicker without that 1.6+ million stumbling block. It'll still take quite some time to fill it up with prices as they are. It'll just mean that we can get maximum functionality sooner without the big roadbump currently in place.

Sorry to ramble. I'm a little frustrated with this system.
  20. Yes, if this was true, the 900k prestige that my toon earned for my SG would have disappeared along with the base itself. Prestige never belongs to the individual - just the group.
  21. Well, I missed out on the updates to this thread from yesterday. I am sorry to see that my fear has been realized: this new stuff requires a workroom.

Here's a request, devs. You want to help me and the other small SGs out? Either increase the size of the "free plot" to 8x12, or lower the somewhat ridiculous price on the current 8x12 plot. Being forced to live with the 2x2 rooms just so you can get maximum functionality in your base = not fun. I was holding off on a permanent workroom until I could afford the 8x12 plot. I guess now I will have to go without an infirmary.

Empowerment stations are instant buffs. You are bathed in radiation/magic/etc. on the spot and get a bonus to your travel speed/lethal resistance/attack speed/endurance recovery/knockback protection/whatever you need at the time, right then and there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm... Doesn't this kinda sorta invalidate the need for Acrobatics? One buff to replace an entire 3rd tier Pool Power? Is there a buff that gives me Whirlwind?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you going to go back to your base every 15 minutes to get another buff just so acrobatics can be "invalidated"? Don't be silly.
  23. Yeah, I remember when States said that the new stuff would be accessible for small SGs early-on. I assume that the empowerment stations are these, since the require no power or control. I asked him in PM if they would require a workroom or something some time ago, but got no response. I believe that they will be usable anywhere, which is cool and makes sense for the overall "help the little guy" theme. I'm more concerned about the storage stuff.
