  1. I'm not worried. I have taken measures to prevent such a thing. It would be a problem for others, however.
  2. It would be relatively simple to rob an sg blind (even easier than now) by allowing another sg access to your bins. It's bad enough as it is now that people get into an sg, take from the bins, and then quit.

If this suggestion gets approved, SGs will get emptied out completely. It will happen. Will it happen to anything but a minority? No. But it will still be an issue.

I had a separate base for storage for over a year and it worked fine. Is it a pain in the butt? Sure, but the security was absolute.

I would like to be able to set permissions for coalition members to take items from storage.

I'm going to have to veto this one.

Ok, Lighthouse, that all sounds cool and I am looking forward to it all. The xp smoothing sounds cool. I'm really looking forward to City Vault so I can show some friends that don't play CoX what my toons look like and such. Maybe get some new players?

My biggest wish for 2008? Publically acknowlege that you have a base system in the game, admit that it is borked as hell, and start seriously fixing it. I know you all mentioned a bit about this, but let's see some timeline and what kinds of things you are planning to do. Sooner is better than later.

Otherwise, keep up the great work.
  5. @Dr. Feedback, Freedom

I'm more likely to give advice and answer questions than to actually join another SG to help out. However, arrangements can be made I suppose.
  6. That's the AES (Autonomous Expert System), the top control item in the game. It costs 2 million prestige to place and requires a room that costs at least 2.5 million to place. Also, you have to earn the badge in order to place it, which if I remember correctly is for doing 50 million points of damage as an SG (in SG mode).

    Bolded for emphasis.

Are you insane? Reduce those prices by 10,000x and it would be worthwhile. Remove all but a minimum control and energy cost. My PLOT costs something like 14 million prestige. You think I would put something in my base that is essentially a word tablet for 50 million? That's what free websites are for.
  8. You don't. Read my guide (in my sig).
  9. As in your other thread, why? What purpose does this serve?
  10. Here is the nightclub that is no longer in my base. Due to my base being deleted and my subsequent lack of desire to expand my plot and repeat the deletion, I had to make some sacrifices.

    The disco had 2 bars:

  12. Yeah, I know what you meant by hub, but I am asking which ones do you want? I recommend (for the small base): Atlas Park, Kings Row, Talo Island, Independence Port, Brickstown, Peregrine Island, Perez Park, and Steel Canyon. The base I mentioned would have room for four more, for which I would add on: Founders Falls, Dark Astoria, The Hollows, and Skyway.
  13. Define what the "hubs" are.

I had a base (recently gave it to a friend) that had 2 work rooms, 3 teleporter rooms (with 11 beacons), an infirmary, a control room, and a power room. Total value was around 2.5 million prestige or so.
  14. You can chat while editing - just open the chat window (hit "C" unless you have it mapped to something else).
  15. Repeat of a post I made (it was requested that I put it here)-

I had an idea earlier today, and I thought I would throw it out there to see what you all thought.

Those of us that consider ourselves "base architects" and regularly patrol this forum have seen many new base architects post here with the issues they are having. Most of these are people that are just starting to build a base for the first time. They often have issues with figuring out what rooms are needed, what the requirements are for teleporters, etc.

    So, the idea was this:

Why not have pre-fabbed bases ready to be loaded for a few different levels of starting prestige? For instance, there could be ones ready to go for prestige levels of 250k, 300k, and maybe 500k. Just a few rooms with cetain configurations depending on what people wanted. Some might want a storage base, or a few teleporters, or a mix.

The new architect, provided that they had enough prestige, could select from a few choices from a drop down menu. The bases would be very similar to those found in Born2luz's thread on starter bases. They could have some pre-decorated or pre-themed. For instance, a "Spacestation" themed base, or maybe "Hidden Warehouse". The designs could be contributed from a contest or something.

Go into the editor, see what you can afford and what the base comes with, and select it. All that would be left would be to add teleporter beacons based on those earned by the supergroup.

I think it would help people get going quickly, and would be a good way for people to "ease" into base building and prevent early frustrations.

Of course, there is the whole coding issue I know. I just wanted to get the idea out there.
  16. We should really try to get the title of this thread changed to something like "Base Guides and Resources". The current title really doesn't do much to prevent new "where can I find X about bases" threads.
  17. I couldn't care less about PvP.

  18. Wow, no kidding. Good work Snow.
  19. So, are you saying the same amount of salvage for a 30-90 second buff from an inspiration rather than an hour as it is now?
  20. If ParagonWiki says that, it's wrong. It's in-game time.
