It's easier to pick another server then back out of it to the server list screen. No need to keep logging on and off.

Making it a temp power solves all issues that I can think of.

Maybe they shouldnt have anymore double XP weekends at all, sine it always manages to royally piss everyone the hell off.

Honestly, I think the same thing.
Edit: I'd rather it be a temp power that you could trigger whenever. Make it an "awarded only to active accounts on this day" and let people use it when they want. -
I'm kind of baffled why anyone that doesn't play on Freedom normally even has an opinion on this?
Not locked out of your toons? Good for you. Go play them.
I'm in agreement with the "let them run laggy if they have to" side of things. And yes, if they servers crash, then let them. Maybe the inf farmers and other "just started and/or transferred to Freedom this week" would go somewhere else.
My biggest wish for the Double XP and new Issue releases? For the love of all that is holy, STOP ADVERSTISING IT TO PEOPLE THAT DON'T PLAY ANYMORE. Wait a few weeks after a new issue. Don't tell them about double xp. Do people honestly think that the majority of these new players will be here next weekend? They won't. They'll be heading back to WoW or some other game and wait for the next double XP weekend. It's pathetic that they cater to these losers that do nothing to support this game.
I'm starting to think that they should prioritize login rights for by registration date and how current your subscription is. Oh, been playing for 36 months nonstop? Come right in, and thank your for your patronage. Started playing in 2005 but haven't logged in for 8 months? Well, we'll put you in a queue until things free up a bit.
I'm sorry, but "play on another server" holds no water. My SG, base, and friends are here. I don't want to start over somewhere else. I don't want to level up a level 1 toon when I want to play my lvl 41 TA/A defender that is a pain to level.
Go back to your low population server and play how you want. Until you get locked out of your home server, please just go away. -
One thing that has always bugged me is the inconsistency with the "hit boxes" around objects. For instance, the small "modern art frame" (name might be wrong) that has been bugged for over a year to appear all white. You can't put those next to one another and have it be flush.
Too many of the desk items and such have those crazy crash boxes around them. I would like to see them reworked to match the actual edges of the item in question. -
Dude, try using paragraphs. Seriously. I see your posts and just keep scrolling on down the page.

My post was to show you where the devs (in this case, their rep) were trying to address the issues.

Let me state the obvious if you will indulge me. This is February of 2008. This thread is nearly a year old. It sits in the "Developers Corner" category of the forums. It appears on the first page of posts consistently but is not "sticky".
Does the absence of any "red named" response mean what I think it does? Have the developers truly ignored this topic for nearly a year?!?
Though I am rarely thankful for moments of ignorance, this is an exception. I am actually glad that I did not read this post before returning to CoV/H. Otherwise I may not have returned at all.
Being a veteran of several other MMO's and having participated in PvP in all of them I am somewhat qualified to say this: The PvP balance in CoH/V is utterly laughable. If there has been any attempt to make PvP in this world balanced, it has failed.
If there is any belief by the developers that it is balanced, that belief is grossly misguided.
This thread which has been here and added to for nearly a year clearly indicates that paying customers are not satisfied.
I can only assume that the developers are simply unaware of the depth of the issue and how many customers that it affects.
Following that train of thought, perhaps we should try a little harder to share our concerns with them. Perhaps the burden of communicating the problem to the developers continues to be ours.
In many aspects, this game is perfect. It's interesting, intelligent and challenging. Balancing the PvP and epic power sets would make it much better.
I am not advocating or condoning that we spam the developers with petitions. However, we certainly have the right and responsibility to make certain that the developers are fully aware of our dissatisfaction with this aspect of their product for which we, the customer, pays at least $180.00 a year.

Some people (the smart ones) don't keep worktables in their base all the time.
If you are going for a raid base and it makes sense to keep the tables there, then maybe it is a good idea to put them in first.
Worktables really should just be made into no power/no control items like the empowerment stations and storage bins. -
I've never been able to find "The Crescent" from Brickstown. It's my fave, so that's why I looked. Williams Square is another favorite.

I like the NPCs idea. Maybe make it so that if say, X number of Hellions are defeated in supergroup mode the supergroup gets a badge that lets them place Hellion NPCs in their base? They wouldn't need to do anything; just having them stand there would be cool.

Yeah, the problem with this is that I don't want villains in my hero base. -

I can already see what they'll say:
"We decided not to allocate development time to a base tutorial when the percentage of the community that edits bases is so small. Besides, all the answers you could ever need are provided by the great folks here!"
It's fine to ask - just don't get your hopes up. -

To be honest, there is nothing in the base editor that cannot be figured out with time and practice.

Sorry, but I have to disagree here.

Interesting, since everything in this forum has been figured out through time and patience.
A tutorial would be nice, but I HIGHLY doubt we will ever see one. They can't even keep the game manual updated. I'd much rather have a lot of the other things that have been requested. -

Yes, this topic has been discussed to death.
Get 2 friends to commit 5 alts to the SG. You do the same. That's a 300k prestige bonus. You can build a functional base for that.
After that, here is an excellent guide.
Also, scaling does not work because an SG can get a bunch of members, save a lot of prestige, kick everyone out, build a huge base for cheap, and then reinvite everyone.
Costs will always be the same for everyone. -

Yeah it would, but the number of people that craft enhancements far outweighs the number that edit bases. I imagine the devs time is better spent elsewhere than coming up with such a tutorial.
To be honest, there is nothing in the base editor that cannot be figured out with time and practice. -
Because I find it annoying. When I am on the main screen, and I see the latest updated thread, "Mouseion at Alexandria's Redesign Complete" means nothing to me as compared to "Post Your Sexy Base Pics!!!! ". I never understood why we were able to change the thread title after the thread had been started anyways.

Great! Don't change the thread subject.
