Just a confirmation that I'm still up for this. I'll be on the stalker, she's a bit more durable than the blaster. I do not want to be the one who dies first.
I'm having a bit of trouble wth time zones but I *think* this is going off around 11.30pm my time. I've set an alarm for 8pm so I'll just keep watching the channels from then on.
If you're ready to roll and I'm not in zone, please throw me a shout out in channel/PST. I will be there.* -
I also need this on my stalker and my blaster, so please keep me in mind if you run another one.
Thanks and good luck! -
That whole base is awesome!
Can I ask how you did the entrance like that? It's open, I didn't think that was possible. -
Guardian is my primary server; always has been and always will be. I only started playing blue side about six months ago; prior to that I was exclusively red-side (which is even more quiet than blue). Additionally, I'm in the UK so my hours don't necessarily coincide with the primarily American player base there. (Although, I have come across some other British players and New Zealanders and some Europeans.)
So .. given the above 'problems', you think I solo much? Not if I can avoid it. Only character I really solo'd was a thugs/dark MM (I enjoyed playing her solo). The rest of the time I will team or TF.
Use the global Guardian channel. There are shout outs for teams/TFs in it. Once people know you, you'll start getting /tells even before the shout outs.
There are other channels on the server; some you will need an invite to. So speak to people who will introduce you to the channels.
Use that global friends list. There's a lot of altitus about so globals are your friend. No I'm not suggesting you team with someone for three minutes and global them but if you're teaming with someone for a while then offer. Don't assume because someone on your global is on a certain char that they won't swap to an alt for a team or TF. They could be checking the market, playing with a costume, or be mucking with the base and the character they're on is the only one that has editing rights.
You can pick up teams and future team mates in unlikely places. I responded to a call for help in Guardian global earlier this year and started chatting to someone who also responded to that call for help. We team regularly; all from chatting in Pocket D and both of us helping someone else. I don't recruit to my SG or VG but I've offered coalitions to people after a great teaming experience, a nice chat and discovering they're just building their own base.
I admit to some lean times during AE, but TFs were still there. There's always badgers who want TFs.
I'm a little star-shy myself, but teams are there. Really. -
Quote:So what we can do is move the hydra and Kraken from Perez to Bricks, and put a Giant Tree Monster in Perez instead. lol
This is a great idea. Perez is mostly forest; makes sense to have a tree monster there.
It would be pretty to have a GM swimming around the Zig and has been mentioned:
Quote:Obviously a moat monster is needed as extra security as the prison has apparent problems with escaping inmates
Some of the best ideas come from flippancy. * -
I'm not sure it's possible, but I'd like to see how a room develops. EG the planning stage, in order to learn what's the best order to do things in.
-
Another expression of frustration here.
I can make characters everywhere except my 'home' server. Come on, guys. I gave you the money for extra slots there and even so I can't make characters there.*
I'm was considering a second account (with all the extra packs to go with it), many people here run two or more accounts; show them a bit of customer courtesy, please.
A bit of an update wouldn't go amiss; it's a fairly large part of the game making characters! -
Fantastic Google docs info - thank you!
I have a PDF of the hero accolade requirements done by JG0001.*
If I can convert it to a jpg I'll upload it to imageshack tomorrow night. Failing that if you PM me an email addy I'd be happy to pass it on for you to turn into another google doc.

The only thing that worries me is if pathing rules are implimented for secure bases and ignore them for hidden. That would be a disaster for me. All my bases are secure; mainly because I wanted the bigger TP rooms.
But like a poster above, I wouldn't/don't PvP. I do feel for the guys and gals who want to.
Really it would be lovely to remove the size/item differences between secure and hidden and just have pathing rules for "PvP-enabled" bases. Best of both worlds for me.
As to the OP; it's time and effort. The game wasn't built around base building so it's unsurprising the editor is a little clunky. If you haven't already, do have a look at Stacker's and Cronic's video's. Stacker's is an ongoing series; check this sub for the thread.
Other than that, it's planning and patience. Good luck! -
Congratulations! Here's to the next one. *raises glass*.

*chuckles uncontrollably at MM's vids*

I would love to see a WW interface in the base (same as a crafting station, vault). Mainly so I could bid in peace without the toggles people never turn off in the market but which I find really distracting.
The prices in WW/BM are much higher than they used to be and I have sympathy for newer player in a way. However, a couple of missions in AE gets enough tickets to buy SOs.
The advice to bid and wait is correct. It holds true when you're selling. Watch the prices over a few days or a week before selling. Patience is the key and more so recently.
If you're playing regular content, keep the salvage as you go along. Chat with your SG/team mates and the guys in your server channel. There's a good chance at least one of them will have the recipies memorized and may offer to craft IO's at cost if you provide salvage and memorized crafting costs. Obviously this is a risk unless you know them well but it can save you a lot of money.
If the market isn't 'your thing' don't play it. Don't spent an hour stood in Talos or Cap if you'd rather be hitting things. -
Another great class, stacker.
I did wonder how you got those desks back into the centre of that second floor; an accidental mid-delete after the tile was removed was a major fear of mine.
Also would you say that doing the lighting for under the first floor is easier when the room is empty or is it viable to do it once that first floor is in place?*
I have an existing two level room and I wonder if it's going to be necessary to take it apart to do lights.*
What is becoming apparent is how much planning is required to do a room. Will you be covering 'planning your room' for a later video?*
Thank you again. -

I give you AE Babies Episode 1 Watch as Muffin Maiden meets Capt. Outhouse.
Warning-One brief little naughty word.
Just ... scarily .... accurate .... *cries*. -
One of the feedbacks I got on my arc said that one of my destructable objects didn't spawn and they had to restart.
I have since changed object type but I have no idea if this fixed it or if it just hasn't been noticed.
One other thing that I did noticed (and part of the reason I changed object type twice) was because I was able to target the object but couldn't actually fire of a power at it. This happened to my controller (blind), blaster (ranged single target attack the name of which I can't remember this early) and my scrapper (ripper). If I ran around the object a bit, eventually I could hit it but it was a really annoying problem. The object was on a flat surface with nothing impeding line of sight, so I have no idea what the problem is/was.
I'm constantly tweaking it so I might have another look at object types in the near future.
But no, you aren't the only one who has had this problem.* -
Umm do you realize I was joking about the PLing? (Except VEATS under 24 *shudder*).
And speaking as someone with an AoE scrapper, I hope you were joking about playing ping pong with the mobs. -
To do this, I slid the planters and shrubs under the floor.
It wasn't that tricky once I got the hang of camera angles. A character with fly really helps.
This is a bit OT but is something which was posted in Guardian and I have found very very useful. Maybe you will too. -
Congrats!
If won't PL me then go out and annoy AoE scrappers with that KB.
-
OT: Love the skipping pylons.
So many of these ring true, it's frighting.
While the ideal solution is to grab a few of new people, take them on a tour and teach them things (I know Kay did a while back), the sheer volume of idiocy in overwhelms me.
Before AE it was great to get a new person in a team. Almost every team member would offer tips, advice, explain team mates' power sets (EG heal locations and why AoE merchants hate KB) and tactics like pulling. So even within a few missions a new person had an a lot of info and advice thrown at them. Not just check the forum/read the wiki, but tailored advice. It was helpful to me when I started and I was happy to reciprocate whenever I came across someone later on whose questions I could answer.
Now .. two people with half a clue (notice I didn't say vet badges) and six AE babies .... "sorry I just remembered that I need to polish my emu, gtg".
Kay how did the 'kidnap a new person' go? Is it something that's worth repeating? Maybe one or two new people on a team of eight. One AE mission can get them enough tickets for SO's if funds are their problem.
AE is here to stay and I don't think there's any way to alter access without causing an uproar. So it would be nice to get the AE babes engaged with the rest of the game because I cannot honestly see anyone who sits in AE staying. Admittedly that's no great loss with some of them, but there has to be good people there.
I think I wandered OT:
You might be an AE babe if you have never seen Circle of Thorns. -
If anyone knows how to make this work in Opera, I'd appreciate a PM.
I've tried setting it under site preferences but no joy.
Thanks.
