  2. Thanks for the runs, all. Glad I made it back in time Armeros. I bailed for a nap just after the runs finished and I've just woken up.

The vet was unable to do a blood test "She's too wiggly, bring her on Wednesday and we'll sedate her". Hmm mmmm. (This was the same vet I woke up at 4am this morning.)

They shaved a bit of fur off her neck and there's a bandage on her leg I need to get off. Don't ask me how. But she seems ok right now. For the day before the seizure, her behaviour was different now I come to think of it, so I'm watching for similar signs.

The vet thinks it's epilepsy but won't have a definitive answer until the blood results come back.

On a Statesman master I was asked if she was built as an AV killer. I said no, Teagie is a tribute character to my five (late) cats. At that point she had three travel powers.

    And welcome to Guardian, Collossal_Spoons.

Ifranview and Photoscape I find quite handy.

Not sure if they're exactly solve your problem but irfanview can open a load of formats including psd. A fast google showed a couple of free converters TO psd.*

    Have a good cake-less day.*
  6. One of my cats had a fit of some type at 4.30am (BST). *The vet said that if she just had the one and was calm, not to bring her in then but to call when they opened.

I'm taking her in 10.20am (BST). I SHOULD be back for the Posi but if I'm not online then please accept my apologies but I need to make sure Fergie is ok.

Her last owner died, her son popped in "every couple of days" to feed her. Someone felt sorry for her and took her home and put her in the garage. She's a nervous cat and they had young three kids, a non-stopbarking dog and two cats that chased her.

Oh yes and when I picked her up they told me not to worry about the growth on her chin! She hid from me for days and when I got close enough to look it was an inch across bleeding mass. I'm not sure who was more horrified, me or the vet I took her to.

    /rant

All times BST so I think thats central +5.
  7. I had a blast on Guardian Redside; and was pleased to get the kill shot on the first GM of the Event.*

There was plenty of red text saying which zone was being hit next - and WHERE in the zone.

It was nice to see some of the more tricky redside GMs like Caleb. The Flyer would have been awesome but no dice even with a few people requesting it.

I forgot to turn my graphic settings down from high (with world detail 200%), but it was still ok even with all of the MMs around. After half an hour I did lower my settings to minimum the the way I do for Ship Raids. It was after that I crashed. But only once.*

The bits of the Event I didn't enjoy was 1) the moment the team leader logged and gave the star to a level 29 at which point I lost my tier 9, my heal, a regen toggle and several attacks. While I was in melee with one of the plant GMs that don't auto-adjust to your level and 2) ranged MM pets in melee range preventing me from hitting stuff. Neither are the Devs/Event Organizer's fault.

I already had the signature hero badges but I did pick up some merits and had a lot of fun beating on GMs.

Starting off in one zone and moving was a nice idea, but would probably annoy people who were trying to 'normal team'. I confess by the end of the Haloween or Rikti Invasion Events I get a bit "oh go AWAY I just want to get to my mission in peace" or resort to hiding in a mission after completion so I don't have to deal with the Event mobs.

The lag didn't seem bad to me, admittedly on a relatively quiet server and redside to boot. There must have been at least 4-6 teams though, maybe more.

One thing that was surprising was the number of "what's this" queries in broadcast and the channels. *

    Improvements?

Well maybe stick to one zone and move the GMs around the zone. That way only one zone is effectively off limits in terms of lag. Not sure about that really. Pretty easy for blueside but for those of us on red, there aren't as many zones and nor as many GMs.

Redside needs more GMs. I don't mind fighting Eochai and Jack (although in melee the view is a bit .. yeah) but Caleb, Scrapyard, Deathsurge and the Flyer (which didn't show) is a bit poor compared to how many blueside has. The Essence dropping GMs don't give merits so while they're nice, the reward is lower.

I found the communication good and the lag tolerable.

Nice Event guys. Thank you. (Especially to whoever did the GM spawning on Guardian Red last night. No idea of the name it said Event Dude.)
  8. Happy birthday.

I've ran a few ITFs on Guardian over the past few days with various people; one was with Armeros and I couldn't tell you who else was on that team. On a couple of others it was with someone named Granite Girl (?).

Getting the Master of badges for us is insanely easy to get redside (we can do it with four toons). The main thing is that people don't listen to instruction and the take this game waaaay too serious.

We usually don't seek out people or announce in the channels when we're running anything. We like getting badges and we have enough accounts between us that we no longer need outside help for any badges. That's not to say that we won't drop what we're doing to help others. Sad thing is, we don't see a lot of that on Guardian when we did need help.

My wife and I are extremely easy going, friendly, helpful people who avoid ego and cliques. The community here has pretty much forced us to keep to ourselves. We're good folks if people would take the time to get to know us.
MY jaw dropped reading your post. What you descibe is not the Guardian I know.

This is a contradiction. People who are interested and follow instructions are going to be upset at those who don't (especially on a Mo run). If that is taking the game too seriously then why bother trying to do Mo runs - or any team - with anyone else except your partner.

If you had a couple of idiots on a team, then one star them, make a user note and never team with them again. On balance there's less stupidity here than on other servers. In my experience, we all have our Leroy moments which is why it takes someone to do something dumb on at least two different teams before I take the view they're just too painful *for me*. YMMV.

If you teamed with Armeros and Granite Girl, you teamed with two of the best players - and TF runners - on this server. I ran a series of MoSTFs with GG and he was excellent at giving instructions and keeping people safe when he was tanking.

How you can say it's hard to find good players when you don't announce anything is utterly beyond me.

So you're saying you don't bother telling people when you're running things but expect others to appear at a moments notice when someone they've never heard of yells for help? Why would they alt across servers/sides/stop doing whatever, not for the guy who was the great tank on the ITF or the guy who helped beat down Deathsurge, or the couple who logged in an extra account so they could start a Posi run or even the guy who helped them transfer some inf over without charge but for someone who they've never heard of?

I have no idea where you got this from. It sounds like you and your wife are happy to solo/duo/multi box. It doesn't sound like you have attempted to interact with the server. This thread is pretty indicative. It was posted and then nothing.

I am one of the most anti-social people around; but I have no clue where you got the view that Guardian forces you to stick to yourselves. It's just ... wow.

    Quote:
We're good folks if people would take the time to get to know us.
Really. How do we do that when it seems you don't want to team with anyone?

Red side is quiet but I wouldn't say it's dead if you get out there and look for teams and use the channels effectively. Many of us stay in hide. That doesn't mean we aren't watching the channels. However, we aren't able to join you if you don't mention you exist!

Each server has it's own flavour in my opinion. Maybe Guardian isn't to your taste, that doesn't mean Guardian has a problem.

    I wish you luck elsewhere.

    EDIT:
That will undoubtedly sound more harsh than intended. My background is legal and so I analyize a lot. But I had to point out that Guardian has one of the most friendly groups I've come across. Odd sometimes. But friendly.

As I said. Good luck on another server.
  10. Beautifully written guide, thank you for taking the time to write it.

I am having a lot of fun with my rad/rad corr right now. Such a wide variety of playstyles availble. Last night I was in an uncharacteristic "nuke-em" mode.

Due to some endurance issues, I was originally thinking Conserve Power/Power Sink. However after last night Soul Drain/Power Boost looks very tempting (if I can squeeze in aim too ...). I can even see how Web Envelope might be handy.

I was wondering if you had any further thoughts on the epic pools?

    Sweet 18

    Well done. Again.*
  12. That should be fine. I'll find a character to use. Really. Please don't make me choose now.
  13. Ladies and gentlemen - and assorted undecided bacon/cookies consumers - may I introduce the newest member of the 500 club.

My main, Capa Devans proud holder of 501 badges as of this evening.

Over the past few weeks she's been on a major badge kick picking up the Arena badges, the Oro badges and a couple of days ago, the PvP rep badges. (Which open up the healing badges to her.)

I was expecting the Smuggler Day Job to be number 500 but got Profiteer as a bonus.

She will never catch up to some of the vets here (only 21 months) but she isn't too shabby, I think.

Thanks to all who have helped over the years: SG mates who no longer plan; guys in Guardian and the private channels who have arranged events, given tips and generally feed the badger of negotiable morals in all of us.

Next stop; healing badges, the new i17 badges and then the world! Muahahahahaha. (Well, she IS a villian. )
  14. Arc ID: 394086
    Arc creator: @Capa Devans

    Mobs: Arachnos and custom
Team level: The mobs will be 45+
    Team size: Suggest 6-8
Difficulty: Team required. EBs, AVs and custom mobs/bosses. Not totally annoying powers but they are there.
Aim of arc: A Task Force like experience

Synopsis: Miss Hero contest goes askew. Some (vague) humour but the arc was designed to be a challenge and not soloable.

I will be continuously tweaking the arc, but I submit it for your kind (or not) consideration. *

May your team mates die horrible deaths.*
  15. I have to add my own "Please no" to this.

Not all characters are suited to all badges. So to get a badge out of your normal sphere takes a lot of effort. (For example my own main is a stalker. She's ground 400 PvP kills for Longbow Warden 2 so she can get the healing badges; something an Empath or Kin could do without thinking.)

To then attach an accolade to badges which are already difficult to get .. ugh.

    * At least the new explore badges everyone can get.

    * But thanks for at least thinking of the idea and asking people what they thought.

    EDIT:
    * I have no clue why I get a load of extra spaces and * in my posts. After four edits of trying to get it right, I give up. Vbulletin you phail.
  16. So I read about a WarTroller a while ago and it sounded interesting. I've checked out the guide in the Stickied FAQ too.

Her endurance issues are horrible (yes I will pick up End boosting Accolades). I expected to be able to solo but it doesn't feel as if she can kill quickly enough for that to be anything other than painful. No, I don't expect scrapper-level but everything solo seems so unbearably slow.

Generally I don't do sets until 50 and I think the character is worth it. Right now, I am not comfortable that she is.

I have considered a second build for soloing purposes. I would take out deflection and insulation shield on that and add tough. However, that just seems to improve survivabilty not damage.

So my question is - am I being unrealistic with this WarTroller build? Have things changed so much since the original idea? Or do I just need to spend a LOT of money to get the idea to work?

My ill/sonic controller did benefit from the End boost Accolades and also a build tweak but she always felt as if she just needed 'a little something'. This girl just feels like an end-sucking buff bot.

Any ideas/comments would be welcome. Thank you.

    WHAT?!

    Villain Badgers

Count me in on pretty much anything if I'm awake. I definitely need the Grandville Flyer; the rest no idea but probably.
I'll echo "thanks" for setting this stuff up. *
  19. Another "thank you" from me. This guide made life a LOT less painful.*

Can I suggest this Hero Flashback Guide by St_Angelius.

Really nice idea. I was lucky enough to be on Skype with the two friends who introduced me to this game. They were able to take me through it and help with enhancements and the travel system. Having someone to answer questions at the start makes a big difference. Good luck with this.

    Hello Guardian

Another red-side player here. I started there and I prefer it, so we do exist.

The PvP VGs left but as I don't PvP, I don't miss them.

Welcome to the home of bacon and cookies.*
  24. I'm usually up for a non-speed ITF.

I do need the Master Badge on my blueside badger but unfortunately she's a blaster ....*

I can bring a variety of chars on non-Master runs.
