I'd also like to say a BIG grats to Aiag and AMU-KE77e, who dinged in the same mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
Two links for you lot.
Piccy At Ravenstorm.
Demorecord of the final mission.
See if you can guess which mission we decided to ding on? (Those of you present and/or listening on TS are NOT allowed to enter)
There was much tweaking and fiddling gone through to get all three at the same time. Involving AMU and Aiag alting out to let Word catch up, and some last minute farming of Possessed scientists in PI to get us all to 20k to go.
That said, I still wasn't expecting us to hit 50 on the first spawn in the mission o_O
So grats all round, thanks for your help to many, but mainly to Hawaiin Punch who's almost single handedly dragged the squid flagellating and screaming (Squids can't really kick, they don't have legs) to 50
It has been a laugh, especially tanking in Dwarf mode for a team with 4 kineticists on it... 4 Speedboosts turns tapping 'w' into a 20 yard forward teleportAnd Scranking in Dwarf is almost bearable with multiple Fulcrums stacked on you
Ah well, getting Raffles to 40 is the next job, then Ice tanking for me. After that, who knows. -
[ QUOTE ]
As for stamina i recommend taking it at 20, and KB at 22 instead. you would not have enough end to use it anyway, and with the right playstyle you should have no problems reaching 22 w/o KB.
[/ QUOTE ]
KO Blow at 22???
You what?
That attack needs to be taken as soon as it can, and then carefully nurtured as the jewel in the crown of your attack pool. It's such a wonderful boss killer that I couldn't imagine taking it in the early 20's...
Besides, since it's only up every 30 seconds, you just need to show a bit of restraint with your other attacks.
Pre-32, KO Blow was responsible for about 1/3 to 1/2 of my damage output. Which isn't bad for an attack that has a 30 second recharge -
Well, since MZ is a /FF MM, I suppose it's another factor in your decision to not slot the PB's for defence.
And I can fully understand your decision not to, but I'm of the opinion that as a /traps, then I need all the defence I can squeeze out of my PB's to combine with the rather puny amount from my Force Field Generator to get anything even noticeable
Slotting, in the end like pretty much everything else in this game, comes down to playstyle, personal preference and powersets.
Play how you want to, not how you think you should based on what you read on the internet
I could post some screenshots of Toybox's current build/slotting, which would probably have the more 'planned build' types out there screaming in horror, but the build works for me and my playstyle, so what do I care -
[ QUOTE ]
I've just re-rolled my Robots/Traps Mastermind, and just want to know what slotting I should give the Summon Powers as and when I get to that stage. I'm thinking:
3xDam 2xAcc 1xEndRed
[/ QUOTE ]
That End Cost Reducer will reduce the amount of end your pets burn per attack/heal/buff, not the amount you burn per summon. (AFAIK, but I'm happy to be proved wrong on that one)
I currently have (IIRC)
Drones - 3 Acc, 3 Dam
PB's - 2 Acc 2 Dam 2 Def buff
Mr. Stompy - 2 Acc 3 Dam (haven't seen the need to add anything else to Stompy yet.)
I've got Equip robot with 2 Recharge, 1 End cost and Upgrade robot with 3 recharge.
I don't have stamina and I run Assault and Tactics.
About the only pet that'll need an end reducer in it is the PB's, as they regularly flatline their end when fully upgraded, but I'm waiting for I7 and Level 42 on Toybox before I change slotting around, so I can just slam some 45 SO's in
The setup procedure I use runs -
Enter mission, summon Stompy, Drones and PB's.
Equip and Upgrade Stompy, then carry on Equipping other pets as the equip power recharges.
By the time I've got all the equips done, Upgrade has recharged, so that gets slapped on the first PB, then I hit Rest.
While resting, toggle on Assault and Tactics. Come out of rest and summon the Force Field generator, then move out, applying Upgrades as appropriate (when the power's recharged and there's a break, however brief, in the action.)
With a Speed Boost from a friendly Corruptor, I can get both PB's Fully upgraded by the time I'm done setting up and not have to use Rest. -

Must be the kinetics!
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah, I think it's something to do with orange underpants...
Nice to see you made it at last though Echo, now roll another alt and move away from the dark side of peddling Speed Boosts to Stone tanks. I know they say they can give them up any time they want, but they've been saying that for years -
I'd suggest getting some slots into Jab.
I'm running 1 acc 3 dam 1 end cost on my SS/Inv Brute atm, and Herostats is reporting that I'm doing as much damage with Jab as I am with an identically slotted KO Blow. (more or less, i.e. +-5% or so)
Also, Jab is a quick cycling power, so you can use it, brawl on auto and Punch to quickly get your fury built up so that KO blow is being used to full effect.
I'd drop Air superiority myself, unless you want the -fly component.
And given the amount of CoT you face in villains, I'd consider taking Resist Elements. If you can cut down the amount of fire/ice damage you take, you'll last that little bit longer -
Congrats. Much as I'd have like to have kept Aiag on last night for the final push, the lag I was getting was making life far more difficult than it needed to be
OTOH, Me logging off made space on the team for at least one of you two -
It gets worse than that, MBar.
Aiag has <shock! Horror!> Hit level 47....
Dun Dun Dunnnnnnnnn
-
Well, Miss Directed mananged to hit 50 whilst still stunned from popping an awaken after Dereck the Freak went kablooie (And Miss forgot to duck)
Starting your life as a 50 already in debt. There's something mildly poetic in there somewhere...
I've got screenies and a demorecord of the final mission on my PC at home. I'll post them later on, assuming I remember
(gah, I hate the keyboard at work, it single handedly quadruples the number of typo's I make, Which, yes, means there ends up being more typo than correct english...)
-
[ QUOTE ]
Nuff said.
[/ QUOTE ]
40. 50. Meh, I was within an order of magnitude
Besides, it's one of the unwritten laws of the net. A post complaining about spelling will contain at least one stealth typo. The concept is also applicable to other situations.
That's my excuse at least, and I'm sticking to it -
[ QUOTE ]
Aiag (Gasp!) and Odyssey are all within sight of the finishing line...
[/ QUOTE ]
If you call 45.7 'within sight of the finishing line'
Bearing in mind that the squid's been sat at 42 for about 8 months or so, which could also be described as 'within sight of the finishing line' :P
I'll put advance notice up here, too. I'd *like* to get Aiag to 40 on the final Kronos Titan mission with at least 2 full teams pummeling the big lump of scrap into the ground.
4 Full teams annihilating the Kronos would be even better
Whether I'll be able to manage it or not is another matter. -
Well, there's always the DW Cryogenic research team to start with next.
Once I finally get Aiag to 50, I'll be more incined to tank it.
Assuming of course that we're not all dragging the Talons mob to 50 due to I7 having hit (and most likely splashed a bit)
-
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks to you all again - and everyone else who came into Knives of Artemis territory and faced extreme caltrop nastiness to see that nice final xp fountain. ( I think there were 13 of us in the mission in the end? )
[/ QUOTE ]
What caltrop nastiness? I didn't notice any, apart from making my Imp unusable :P
Heh, group fly had to come in useful at some point. But having it be really useful for 2 or 3 missions in the entire damn game?!?
[ QUOTE ]
( Good to see Canine exercising his usual pedantry - though he doesnt really need any excuse)
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course I don't need an excuse. Pedantry is its own reward
Oh, and get back to work!
umm...
<looks around>
Look! Zeppelin!
<points up and right>
<exits left> -
<cough> Title of thread corrected </cough>
Congrats to Lightbringer. He's running out of AT's to get to 50 -
[ QUOTE ]
(I really love how you managed to somehow capture my toon's look of surprise at being teleported across Atlas Park into the front row of a photo line-up!).
[/ QUOTE ]
You sure you weren't just stunned at successfully zoning into Atlas without yet another DC?
Echo Taker. Her connection was up and down more than a <complete euphemism to your own satisfaction here> last night -
Reminds me Pink.
Are you ever going to push Timekeeper to 40 before I7 goes live?
Just so you'd be starting at the same point as the rest of the Talons that I assume will be villaining their way to 50?
And Jet, if you're scared of rusty spoons, steer clear of Azathoth (Magenta's Brute) -
I know I've already passed you some info about robotics, Chaplain, but there's a couple of other things I haven't seen mentioned.
1) Ranged Pets are pretty much all DoT based. The Bots all have single hit attacks, but most of their damage output comes from DoT, so you don't get any of real 'big hitters' although an AoE immobilise + Incendiary Swarm Missiles from Stompy could be fun in I7
2) This is the major annoyance for me a MM. The damage dealt by pets (or at least by my robots) seems to have a half second to one second lag on it before it's applied to the targets. So you can often find targets being flattened by the Brute/Stalker/Corruptor's big hits before the massive stack of DoT ticks your pets just launched are applied to the target.
TBH, when it comes to MM's, try one to level 25 or so. By that point you'll know whether the AT is for you or not. Some people like it, some people don't. It's not like playing other AT's. -
Demorecords of the last two missions
OK, it's a Rapidshare hosting solution, so some people may whine, but I've had no trouble downloading from there before so tough :P
At the first page, click the Free button at the bottom of the page, then on the next page, wait unti the timer's counted down, and type the three digits into the box and click the download button.
3 .cohdemo's in a zip file - 5.2Mb in size, all of them will be immensely boring for the first 5-10 minutes while we were setting up the two teams in the mission
And if you don't know how to view .cohdemo's then go away and do some digging on the US site, use the search on these forums, and Google is your friend :P -
Had plenty of screenshots. None of them came out due to the image corruption bug I've had for a looong time now.
I'll find some hosting for the demorecords I made though -
[ QUOTE ]
So please let me know if you are available tonight below...
I will be automatically reserving a spot for Miss Directed and after that the Darkwings SG guys I have been teaming with the most will be given priority.
[/ QUOTE ]
I should be on tonight from about 18:00 or so. I'll bring Aiag along, unless you want one of my alts. Not sure about Lightbringer though, He'll most likely be logging out at about 7pm or so from past history, assuming his PnP game is on. So it may be a mad rush from about 17:30 or so
:edit: And NOW I get round to reading the bit where you mention when you're going to be online... ah well. we'l have to see how it works out in the end. :edit:
Besides, i'm not toally sure why you needed to ask, if any of us was on and you shouted, I'm pretty sure that barring Respecs/TF's then we'd drop what we were doing and come along to ruin your carefully constructed herds with a well placed Dark Nova Detonation -
Strike Force "Damn that mapserver was pratting us around today" and Ice Mistral.
There you go, one group photo, as promised.
From left to right.
Lycricia - Ice/Fire Corruptor
Toybox - Robotics/Traps Mastermind
Mr Pinkerton-Smythe - Energy/Kinetics Corruptor
Seethe - Fire/Dark Brute
Kaplerian Divider - Robotics/Forecfield Mastermind
Death Rose - Plant/Thorns Dominator
Salome - ???/??? Stalker (sorry, didn't make a note of your powersets, the others I just know, having teamed with them so much)
Wanderer. - Rad/Kinetics Corruptor.
That's me for the night. Later all. -
Started and finished. both teams.
And what a travesty it was for what I shall call the Talons team.
Final mission, first time, we were making good progress through the room. Then the Mapserver went belly up.
Reconnect, go in again, swear loudly as we see the maps been reset.
Get to and beat up AV. People start bailing but in the midst of this the mapserver goes titsup AGAIN and only 4 of the team make it out.
Net result? 4 of the team go thte badge and their SO's.
The other 4 got Nada. Nothing, Sweet FA. Except the chance to make a petition
(I'd like to point out that I was one of the lucky ones, Toybox got the badge and the SO's.)
Group photo of the team at the contact to come later. -

bind button4 "petcomall attack"
/bind button5 "petcomall follow defensive"

are they the 2 arrow key's on the left of the mouse?
[/ QUOTE ]
They're usually the two buttons on the left hand side of the mouse, usually used in windows/web browsers for forward/back.
If in doubt, use something like /bind button5 "Team testing" and then press every button on your mouse until you see 'testing' come up in team chat -

/bind button4 "petcomall attack"
/bind button5 "petcomall follow defensive"
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I'd reverse those two on my mouse (MX510) since button5 is the forward button and button 4 the back button on the side. Just makes more sense from a memory point of view to me to have the forward button mapping the 'go forth and slaughter' bind and the back button mapping to 'come here my faithful minions'
Of course, since I use button4 for Teamspeak Push to talk, it's a moot opint, but <shrug> just my 2 inf.
