Well, my lot got Eden done, at least.
The time in that screenshot was with everything at ground level after the rock wall defeated. All 3 bridges cleared, final room cleared out, including the 4 heroes rescued, both Quarries defeated before working on the Rock wall, etc. etc.
Another crappy selection of recipes.
I think I got the best of the lot, with an Impervium Armor: Resistance recipe. Currently going for 13-20 million on the auctions, depending on what Icicle's +stealth is going for, of course. Not that we really tend to need +stealth IO's, since my team regularly runs at Stalker levels of stealth...
let me see if I can dig out the relevant section of the chat logs :

I had no idea you felt like that, sorry.
The race aspect was never intended to be anything other than a fun change of pace. I did not think people would take the results to heart as it wasn't meant to be a serious exercise.
Eh, sod it - let's not bother with Eden, race or no. More folks than I would want can't participate at this point anyway and making people feel left out is the exact opposite of how I saw the excercise.
Normal mission night tonight, we'll meet wherever the person who updates the MoTD thinks we should meet.
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem with not doing Eden now is that you can't autoexemp to Eden. Unless the person to start the TF is in the right range to do so, then it just aborts and disbands the team immediately.
Ditch the race aspect. Have teams of people in range doing Eden, have another team of people out of range doing something else until the Eden teams finish up.
Missing one of the best Trials/TF's in the game is not a good thing to do, IMO. -
[ QUOTE ]
EDIT: And the 'race' will only start from the point the timer starts - that is, when it's time to enter the cave. This doesn't mean everyone has to wait for all teams to be done with the hunt before continuing, simply that your race time will be taken from the value of your timer when you finish the TF!
[/ QUOTE ]
Problem with that.
When you've completed the TF, you can't see the timer any more, on account of it saying 'Mission Complete'.... -

Next week we shall be having a race through the Eden Trial! I am enthused about this!!
What's say we meet up in Eden, by the Woodsman?
[/ QUOTE ]
We're going to need some rules.
Otherwise it'll be all over in 20 minutes. -
[ QUOTE ]
This isn't work, you are allowed to miss without punishment.
We'll miss you, but we won't fire you!
[/ QUOTE ]
Too bloody right. Once this game turns into work, there's no damn point to it <cough> farming </cough>
Anyway, Sunday reminder.
Cold Fronting on the morrow.
My team will be doing Nemesis missions until the Weather control arc opens itself to us, at which point, we'll probably shift to something non-nemesis for a change of pace.
Oh, and guess what we did tonight....
Lucky swine of the evening award goes to Abyssal, who got a LoTG 7.5% Recharge recipe out of it.
Later, folks. -

I've heard a lot of bad things about AoE Hold powers... except the reason. Why are they so seemingly unpopular?
I just picked up Cinders on my Fire/Fire Dominator. Aside from missing like crazy because I'm on DOs and it has 0.8 base accuracy, it seems just fine. Quick activation time, and I can use Combustion in safety after using it.
Is there something I'm missing and should I respec out of it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Dominator Mass controls used to have a target cap of 10 until relatively recently, whereas Controller mass controls had a target cap of 16.
It's not much, but on a full team, only being able to lock down part of a spawn rather than most of a spawn can be significant.
And solo, Mass holds aren't really too useful, due to the silly recharge times they've had for a long while now. IME, they're only available every third to 5th spawn, so you're spending most of your time coping without them available.
Both of these may have contributed to the general opinion of mass holds, but I can't say for certain. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hmm, it's very dead. I hope I get time to fix it tomorrow after work. I'm not sure I can cope with a week without a computer and CoH.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ouchie.
Hope it's something easy, like swapping out the PSU.
Anyway, progress report.
Aerial and Abyssal hit 41. Others on the team hit 40ish each, I think, apart from the new recruit to Cold Front in the shape of Frozen Lard, who only got 4 levels out of the evening....
Not really focused on any one thing tonight. Did some DE until excess KB seems to have knocked something through a wall. Then we went and pummeled the Psychic Closkwork King. Then Adamastor got smacked silly. Then, for the reduced team, we went and hit Malta in and alternate Oranbega.
This Sunday we have options.
Sewer Trial.
Eden Trial.
Respec 2.
Oh, and last Sunday's TF was Numina. Two and a half hours from start to finish. -
[ QUOTE ]
I just got home to find my comp dead. The processor is burnt out, so I'll be late if I make it at all. Shame.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's never pleasant.
I hope it's just the CPU and it hasn't taken the Motherboard/RAM/anything else out with it.
When my last PC died, pretty much all the guts gave up the ghost at once. -
I'm expecting tonight to be a quiet one again.
Something to do with Spore and WAR beta...
I'll be there though -
As the saying goes - Sod it.
Numina on Sunday,
If enough people are in range, Eden on Monday for my team.
Can't be faffed thinking about it too much more :P -
Scheduling is getting tricky.
The Sewer Trial (38-40) we can now come back to at any time, I think.
Eden (39-41) we need to do on the first pass through. You can't start it successfully unless the person starting it is in the correct level range.
Numina is now 35-40, so if we ran Numina on Sunday, I and Abyssal could well end up at 41.
So, what I'm going to do is pick up the Sewer Trial on Aerial before I outlevel it, and keep it until we're ready to give it a shot. If other people want to do that too, then we can do a mass clearout of Rikti in the Abandoned Sewers on Monday.
That would just eat one mission slot, which I think most people can cope withAnd I KNOW you can keep the Sewer Trial on ice for a long time, cos my level 50 D4 still has it pending.
That just leaves this Sunday, on which I'm drawing a blank. We could take another run through Manticore, for those who missed last Sunday, or we could do something else entirely.
Or maybe Abyssal and I could bring different Ice/Storm themed toons and we could get a load more people up to the level range for Eden and run Eden itself on Monday.
Like I said, it's getting tricky, and my brain hurts.
Basically, there's nothing to do that we haven't already done that wouldn't likely get a few people too much xp to fit everything else in. -
Well, Aerial got to 39.33ish.
The rest of my team were at or around 38, I think.
We got the Project Revenant arc completed too.
Next week, My team's going after Devouring Earth, since I've got the Terra arc queued.
Sunday, I was thinking about possibly trying a Sewer Trial.
I'll warn anyone who may be interested now, it's hard. It's one of the hardest things in the game. And there is NO guarantee of success on this one. -
[ QUOTE ]
When I play my hero alt, I often see rikti invasions going on, but when I play my villain main, the skies are clear with no sign of rikti for miles and miles.
I do understand how the invasions are triggered, and I can appreciate the RP value of ending a TF with a special bang like that, but the fact still remains, villains never see those elusive rikti.
I would really like to see both heroes and villains getting invaded whenever a TF on either side is completed, and not just the side that completes the TF, I really miss those rikti battles on my main :/
[/ QUOTE ]
You *have* got the villain zone event channel added to one of your chat tabs, haven't you?
I've seen a few villain invasions recently. -
Just a reminder.
Manticore's on the cards for Sunday evening.
7pm start. (plus or minus waiting for Abyssal :P )
Oh, and Echo, as regarding a gathering point for Monday evening, Why not the Top of 'Rikti hill' in Talos for this week? It's pretty central for zone travel purposes, and easy enough to find.
('Rikti hill' being the Hill just north of Luminary/Citadel/the train station, where the mass Rikti bashing during an invasion in Talos usually takes place, for the sake of clarity) -

Okay scratch the 31st, too busy that weekend... hmm. September 6th then?
[/ QUOTE ]
At this rate, why not March the 22nd, 2011?
:P -
[ QUOTE ]
We'll forgo the usual meeting spot and start the fight against evil soon after 7pm. That means when you show up, announce your presence in the Cold Front channel and one of us will fling you an invite right away.
[/ QUOTE ]
As an expansion to that, I was thinking that we start with a fixed meeting point, since that's worked well up until now.
Then at 7pm sharp (or maybe 7:10, whatever seems like a good idea at the time), we divide up the prompt attendees into one or two teams, as numbers dictate, and start rolling.
And then we do the invite as people log in thing.
This is nothing more than the typed equivalent of talking out loud to yourself, so please don't take this as gospel, but it may work more smoothly as a halfway house between the old system and the more 'harsh' new system being considered.
<shrug>
Just a thought. -
Rather a quiet evening, by Cold Front standards, except for my team...
Started with only 2 teams, ended with just one.
My lot are all about 37ish. Apart from Majikman, who I think hit 35.
Aerial's 38.14 and Abyssal's 38 and a bit, and Aerial now has Zappy McCloud, of the clan McCloud to add to her assortment of pets to litter the environment with.
Many MANY Paragon Protectors were smacked tonight. Enough to go from zero to Infiltrator in one evening. The PP's really really didn't like the amount of debuff being thrown around....
Doctor's Ally badge and a good chunk of Gordon Stacey's arc knocked out of the way.
Oh, and my team did a Brickstown Safeguard, too.
Aerial's got the CBX-9 pistol, too
This Sunday's TF is Manticore. 7pm(ish) start, in Brickstown, near the guy with the spiky head.
Even reading this to myself, this looks a little garbled... Tired. Need bed. Gnight all.
:edit:
Forgot. We Smacked Jurassik right in the Boulders, too -
<cough>, did someone mention Frankenslotting? (not my guide, just one I saw on the US guides board)
Read it. Understand it. Decide whether enhancement totals or set bonuses are more important to your toon. -
Echo's team got 1st place with 44 minutes 14 seconds, my team got 2nd with 47:14, Blap's 3rd with an unspecified time.
And I forgot to get any group photos at the end.
Never mind.
And a finer collection of crappy recipes you've never seen from 21 drops out of the TF pool....
hohum.
My team got all of the Midnighter door missions done before I logged. all that's left is the running round and inserting Blood sample A into Grave dirt B and folding Tab C into Slot G to make a cure, and then a quick trip into Gordon Trench in Terra Volta to test it out
Aerial's at 35.75.
And for those who do the Sunday TF's, I'll NOT be around this weekend. Got to give my sister away at her wedding. Abyssal's off this weekend too, so if you decide to run a TF anyway, good hunting. -
[ QUOTE ]
I thought the timer was only 4 hours
See you all tonight. Looking forward to my first Katie TF!
[/ QUOTE ]
4 hours for trials, 24 hours for TF's, and the LRSF and STF are on separate 24 hour timers to the main TF timer.
All assuming I remember correctly. And it may well have changed without me noticing since I9.
And the logoff without choosing reward trick sounds viable, although how viable depends on when we finish the TF. If we finish early, which, given KH is entirely possible, then it'd interfere with the rest of the evenings play. -
[ QUOTE ]
Okay, tonight's the race through the Katie Hannon TF.
The TF is for 30+ so not everyone will be able to join in, sadly. However I hope those folks will form a team of their own and keep playing, since they'll also be able to pick up any latecomers who missed the beginning of the TF.
We'll meet again at the campus of Croatoa U to sort teams out. The TF itself will start at 7:30pm.
[/ QUOTE ]
Realised a slight problem with that plan.
Those who were on Moonfire last night need to make sure they finish the Katie TF after about 9:15 or so (I'll check chat logs later for an exact time) if they want a recipe from it, due to the 24 hour timer on TF recipe rewards.
So the 'race' may have to be based on time to complete. Rather than who completes first (although my team from last week win on the latter metric, since we finished a week before everyone else :P )
Anyway, just a point that needs consideration. -
Sunday evening warning.
Silly Hat shopping tomorrow.
Tonight, we had a wander through Moonfire.
2 hours, 3 seconds in total, and I still don't have a clue what Arakhn looks like, as she vanished under a mountain of effects.
Utterly carp selection of recipes at the end though... -
I'm 35.
Abyssal's 35.
I wasn't sentient enough by the end of the evening to see where everyone else on my team was. I'm assuming a similar sort of level.
Tonight :
Buck Salinger done.
Katie Hannon done. (by my team, at least)
Talos SG still in my tray. (for anyone that missed badge/temp previously)
Badges, Silly hats and temp powers aplenty. Buck's final mission was comically easy. Mr. Celcius and Aerial stood blocking the road with two Hurricanes, while any mobs that appeared got immobilised, taunted, debuffed, feared, confused, shot, zapped, punched, spat at by walking plants, hit by various illusions and otherwise never even made it remotely close to the henge....
This Sunday, Moonfire, I think. May as well try for a full set of TF accomplishment badges -
Seems to have gone away again for me this evening.
Spent the evening on a team of 6-8, and power lag was noticeable by its absence.
And it's been driving me up the wall over the weekend. -
[ QUOTE ]
Any tf's this weekend?
[/ QUOTE ]
Gimme a chance.
I wasn't in the mood last night to do much of anything on the forums after the power lag that's been ticking me off all weekend.
Guess what we did last night?
