See you all tonight from 7pm! Location to be decided by Canine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The location's already been determined.

I don't know, these part time players, don't even bother to check the MOTD :P

My team's fixed (at least to start with) from last night, as we ran into the brick wall that is Romulus...

I've had an idea or two since last night, though. So we may have a chance.

However, Rom's going to be a complete sod for any CF team, as there are some very nasty autohit attacks in there, as we found last night, so capped defence is no help at all.

worked up phanty to 47 so he should be ok in 2 weeks, just need to get on another respec trial so i can change epic again since consume is meh and fireball wont bring me that much joy without AoE containment. Ice Ice Baby or Primal

    [/ QUOTE ]

Primal's good for Controlling. It's not going to give you any AoE damage output though. And the Shield can make you look a little like a disco ball. However, I've got Primal on my Fire/FF controller, and it's a lovely, lovely combination with a Power Boosted Flashfire giving me and the imps more than enough time to deal with a spawn, or if I really need it, PB, Cinders, Char gives some serious duration lockdown on a spawn and the boss, assuming you targetted the Boss for the Char.

Ice Gives you the oh so useful Hibernate, and more defence to stack with all the rest of the +def floating around the team. Again though, its AoE is somewhat lacking, IMO.

Regarding AoE Containment/Fireball, Flash will get you AoE on Minions and Lieuts, Thunderclap will get you containment on Minions.

If I hadn't gone Psi on Aerial for thematic reasons, I'd have gone Earth for Fissure/Thunderclap with a +def armour and self heal. I think a Fissure/Thunderclap combo should stun Bosses assuming both hit.

    Anyway, enough wittering.

Sunday evenings TF, if we can get enough bodies, after last weeks failed so miserably, will hopefully be Imperious.
  3. Redtomax is looking for people to help test out his Mission Architect tool.

It's basically the tool he's been using to enter story arcs onto his website, but with the approach of I14 and the real Mission Architect, he's looking at opening it up for general use.

However... Since it's a tool he basically wrote for his own use, he needs help making sure it works in a sane and sensible manner.

I ummed and ahhed a bit before putting this in this forum, but it's not really General Discussion fodder, and the people that frequent this board may be more likely to find use it in.

Servers went live officially on 4th of Feb '05. But were in fact up and running the day before.

I wonder how many of the few who accessed the game a day early on live are still left?

    I'm one.

I know some of the others have certainly left. But are there others still around? we should have a badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Guilty as charged, yeronner.

I created my live account and got an hours play in on the 3rd of Feb, at about half past 9 in the evening, IIRC.

I'm still here, still playing, and while I've had a few breaks here and there, I've had no breaks in my subscription.

I occasionally realise I'm getting a little jaded and take a break for a while. Or I have a break enforced on me when my lower spine goes kablooie and I end up bedridden for a week, and pretty much unable to play for a month or so afterward.

Other than that, while the game's changed beyond pretty much all recognition and there are still a few irritations (Where the hell are the Saya for my Katana scrapper and the Quiver for my Archer!?), I'm still enjoying the game.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Since most of us missed out last week, I'll be hoping for an invasion at some point tonight.

Aside from that, we found the ToT xp really good last week so I'd be happy to do some of that again, and then move back to other missions if we get bored.

    See you at 7pm!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The invasion schedule's evened out a lot, now that the random timers have been fixed.

There will almost certainly be several invasions tonight.

There was no TF last night due to a lack of bodies.

Oh, and I may end up tanking tonight, as Abyssal's off on holiday for the week.

I agree. The video was nice, but it wasn't all that much related to I13. The actual I13 content seemed limited to a few seconds at the end (quick flashthrough of the shields, and someone at a day job).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    <cough>

(Taken from the more info section, that I sometimes feel like I'm the only one reads)

    [ QUOTE ]
And here comes number twenty-two! Still following tradition, it was time to do a teaser trailer for Issue 13, "Power and Responsibility." I thought long and hard about how to convey the "emotional" side of the issue, since a) I didn't have access to Closed Beta at the time, and b) even if I did, I couldn't violate the Non-Disclosure Agreement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The reason there wasn't much related to I13 is that there couldn't be much related to I13, since to get that sort of imagery would require breaking the NDA on Closed beta.

The flick through of the shields will have been taken from the costume editor on the US training room, which anyone with a current US account can get access to. they just can't log into the actual server to play with any of the shinies that they can look at on the costume screen.

Still a very nice video. Covers the major bases regarding the info we do have, but unless you're up to date on the current known info on I13, then I can see how it could give an erroneous impression of the contents of said issue.

I was still shopping when the hordes came.... to five Hero zones simultaneously.

It was fun, but super laggy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Umm, do you want to reconsider the '5 Hero zones' thing?

Looking forward to tonight's zombie bashing antics. Will be good if we can coordinate our efforts and get both teams along. Do they work the same as rikti invasions? i.e announced before they start?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, they're announced in the Hero/Villain zone events channel, Just like GM's, Superadine raids, Steel Canyon fires, Rikti invaions, etc.
  9. So, tomorrow evening, more Frigidity.

My current plans for my team consist of the Peregrine Island Safeguard (should be the last one of the set), Clearing an old Carnie mission off, and starting on Harvey Maylor.

Any time during that little lot that a zombie invasion goes off, we shall descend on it and pacify the undead until they stop twitching.

Oh, and I've chosen Harvey Maylor for one reason - Carnies. Specifically, Master Illusionists and their decoys. Decoys mean Illusionist, which eventually means Archmage.

Of course, given how things worked out last week, it's entirely possible that the Master Illusionists will regularly die before summoning the decoys. But such is life.

    Annnyyyyway...

Last weeks TF was the tedium that is Citadel.

    This weeks was Virgil Tarikoss'

Next weeks, not a clue atm. Mercy-Nary, Harris and Wildwood are all still a few levels short of being able to start Silver Mantis' SF.
  10. So, tonight it's Binder of Beasts. Meet by Virgil Tarikoss in Cap Au Diable. Level 15+.

Some notes on Zombie invasions for tomorrow.

    1) All it takes to get all the zombie invasion badges is one team of 8 (I know this because I got 'em all on Li this afternoon, with just a team of 8)

    2) Be prepared to faceplant. Some of the Zombies hit HARD.

    3) But there's no debt during the invasion.

    4) Trick or Treating rules have changed for this year.
    a) You can click a door every 10 seconds.
    b) You can't click the same door more often than once every 5 minutes (not totally sure on the 5 minutes thing)

    5) Basic tactics are to keep moving from door to door, but please be considerate and clean up your messes after you. Leaving door spawns around is unhygienic and antisocial IMO.

    6) Eochai and Jack are back in city zones. Remember, you get a 10% chance of a GM spawn being a Jack.

And that's it for now, tea time.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
No, seriously, Zombie invasion just began? I thought it was next day, not today...
    Screenie: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...screenshot.jpg

    [/ QUOTE ]

    <Cough>.

    Now, if you'll excuse me....
  12. Places to fight zombies?

I think it may well boil down to 'Wherever they're spawning'.

That, and there's Jack in Irons and Eochai to beat up, along with Unseelie Court, plus temp costumes, Tier 3 insps, and costume salvage to get.

BTW, a reminder for those who join the TF's on a Sunday Evening.

This week it's the Cap Au Diable Strike Force (level 15-20), which means villains. Level 15-20, no restrictions on the toons you bring, so any of the new (or old) crop of Dom team members are welcome, too.

I'll be soldiering, as will Lifeline, most likely.

Start time, between 7:00 and 7:30, depending on when people turn up.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    Bye sax

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shame to see aomeone drop out, but I've played through lag from hell (tm) and it's not fun. Ever.

On a related note, next Monday's been sort of pre-organised for us.

From what I've read on the US boards (and according to this), the Zombie invasion (aka the Hallowe'en event) starts on the 20th of October. Guess what the date of next Monday is?
  14. Why'd I....?

    Oh yeah. Sunday reminder.

Meeting point this week is on top of the Talos Arena. (the most useful thing to do with Arenas, IMO)

This weeks plans, I believe, are more of Tina Macintyre's stuff, and this week, that should mean more AV's, Bobcat, Neuron and Antimatter round 2, since the wimp ran away last time.

Tonights TF was Citadel, completed in 1:49:58. Group Photo later, if I remember.

    Later all.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I'm STILL without a car, so I may well be very, very late .

    [/ QUOTE ]

    They've STILL not sorted it?

Have they started doing any more stuff to it without asking you for the go ahead, or are they still pratting around with what they started doing last time?
  16. Canine

    Why, oh why?

    [ QUOTE ]
    1. Why do we have to get 700 mil or whatever to get a 'good' build? I feel this system is downright pants, why should I need to farm every spare time I get to get decent builds. I have nothing against farmers and I do occasinally farm. But I just feel the farmers who like to farm a lot have a edge over people who dont farm, espicially in PvP. Why?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You don't.

You can get a good build on SO's. (remember those? those things you buy from shops/quartermasters after level 22/contacts)

I've got tanks that have tanked everything in the game barring Hamidon on nothing but SO's, blasters that still do silly amounts of damage, scrappers that are durable and kick out damn good damage, a MM that casually strolls through 99% of anything the game throws at him and so on and so forth. And even with Hami, IO's would make approximately zero difference.

To get an exceptional build, you may need x million inf, whatever the figure is these days. But a good, solid build requires only SO's.

Inventions are an optional part of the game, nothing about them is mandatory, even if you could easily get the opinion to the contrary from reading the boards.
  17. Sunday Reminder (tm)

Meeting in Peregrine Island this week, on the roof of the NE Portal Corp. building.

Various portal/Robot/AV smashing duties to be completed.

My lot don't have to faff on with the 10 minute timed mission, since we got that cleared last week, not sure about Echo's.

Tonight's TF was a Psyche rerun for a couple of people who missed it first time around. I think it's Citadel next week.

The week after, I have something mildly insane planned. Maybe.
  18. There's this guide on the US boards.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're after, but it may be worth a look.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
We meet every Monday night from 7pm, our team is mostly lvl 40-42-ish right now but we have a few folks who are lower than that and so lvl 30-somethings are welcome too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    <cough> And a few 43's and a couple of 44's </cough>

Aerial and Abyssal hit 44 last night.

We got through the Founders Safeguard (with a free Dr. Quatrexin AV thrown in, unfortunately I was first to the bank and interrupted him before he got to the vault... instant faceplant.), the Nemesis Weather Control arc, and a few maps of Hydra and some other Tina Macintyre stuff, oh and a Nemesis Rex AV, too.

I've got Tina's arc open now, so that's next Monday sorted. We're going AV hunting

Now I just need to pick a new random meeting point for next week...

This Sunday is Psyche, I believe.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I will be coming tonight just may be a little late, I certainly won't be early enough to see you all harrassing that poor statue like a flock of spandex clad pigeons.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, enough Freezing Rain/Sleet/Ice Slick and the Statue could end up looking like it'd played host to a flock of pigeons....
  21. Sunday night reminder time.

This weeks random meeting point is on top of the head of the statue in Blyde Square in Steel Canyon. (that's the one just behind Positron and Valkyrie, for those who may need a small clue)

Tonight's Tf was a rerun of Numina.

Not a wholly Cold Front TF, but filling in missing TF Commander badges for a few people who needed them.

Psyche next week, which means Freaks. LOTS of Freaks. Probably Citadel the week after, to finish off TF Commander Accolades.

    See you loons tomorrow.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Not to sound entirely dim but - what exactly are APPs and PPPs???

    [/ QUOTE ]

APP - Ancillary Power Pools. Epics, in common parlance.

PPP - Patron Power Pools. Piles of mildly useless dross for associating with the paranoid morons Recluse call Lieutenants.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    You'll be missed Drak!

    [/ QUOTE ]

But we'll slot more accuracies for next time, and try to get stacked Tactics running.

    See you later, Drak.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Is it just me, or does Credit Crunch sound like some kind of new tasty cereal?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Someone mention Credit Crunch?

    No, it's not just you.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
Yes yes, very nice. Now stop breaking the thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Sorry, breaking what?

<Exits, whistling nonchalantly, turns corner, legs it>
