Ack.. Really sorry, but I'm not going to be able to make it.. We have having a friend coming over at the last minute.. Good luck with it.. hope it goes well
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, after 3 hours, we're 14 missions into the 24 mission behemoth.
Pretty smooth sailing, except for at the end when pretty much everyone started to suffer a little concentration drift, and faceplants became more regular.
No team wipes though.
If we can keep up the momentum tomorrow evening, should be able to finish it without needing a second Sunday (hurrah).
:edit: I started typing this before Doc T, honest. I was jsut alt0-tabbed back in the game sorting some other stuff out(that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it) :/edit:
-
So, that leaves us with (at the moment)
1) Aerial Deceiver
2) Abyssal Chill
3) A Doc Green alt, probably Longbow Colonel (Illusion/Kin Controller)
4) Frozen Phenom
5) Tolledo
6) Belliegerent Lass
7) Piranha Coldshot
8) Hypothermiatrix
9) Barsin
Well, we'll have to wait and see who turns up tonight then, won't we?
Later all. -
[ QUOTE ]
I might be able to make it tomorrow night. What time are planning to start?
[/ QUOTE ]
As close to 7pm as possible. Kicking off by 7:30 at the latest.
In theory.
As to what actually happens, well that's usually an exercise in waiting for people to turn up. -
[ QUOTE ]
Great, because I have SS and er, SS
[/ QUOTE ]
Then I suggest you get yourself to the shards and start practicing on the bounce pads
Seriously, it's pretty straightforward to use the bounce pads to get around in there with a little practice.
And besides, just buy a Raptor Pack from the vendor in FBZ. It does sterling duty as an emergency parachute/'dammit I missed that jump' button.
(plus, Raptor Pack + GvE Jump Pack = 30 seconds of speed capped Flight.)
So far as stealthing goes, I'm not a huge fan of it. There's all those Nems/Crey/Rularuu in the TF with recipes, inf, prestige and salvage up for grabs. We're already looking at splitting this over a few sessions, so what's the major hurry? -
[ QUOTE ]
Guys I've done this task force before, but in one sitting, and it was painful! As your breaking it up into segments i'd be happier trying it again. Put me down as a substitute. I'll log on and if you dont have a full team i'll join for some rularuu bashing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Feh, one sitting's nothing.
First time I did it was one sitting, of about fourteen and a half hours duration, and the last sodding mission bugged and wouldn't complete.
Oh, and Dr Q's not got that much Rularuu to bash in it. IIRC, it's mainly Crey and Nemesis.
But if there's space, then you're in. -
[ QUOTE ]
Pop me a spot down for this horrible TF. I just hope someone has TP as I despise navigating the shards without flight.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can buy Raptor Packs in FBZ for 10k inf.
Cheap at half the price.
As far as Cold Front/Non Cold front toons go, it's a Sunday TF, but it's also going to be a Monday evening team.
So I'd really prefer Cold Front toons, at least for the first run.
If people want the badge on other toons, then another run can be arranged at a later date, and just left for Sundays, so avoiding the Monday night issue.
So, we've got :
1) Aerial Deceiver
2) Abyssal Chill
3) A Doc Green alt, maybe
4) Frozen Phenom
5) Tolledo
6) Belliegerent Lass
7) Piranha Coldshot
8) <null>
At least nominally.
It's entirely possible that since there's no AV's to worry about in the TF that we'll rip through it pretty quick, but I'm allowing for the two Sundays and the Monday as a bit of a safety net. -
Wanted:
8 Cold Front idiots for Sunday Evening, Monday evening and possibly the following Sunday, too.
Doctor Quaterfield. A name to bring shudders to old time vets. It's long, it's tedious, it's dull at times, it's got 90 Reward merits attached to it.
The plan is to start Dr Q's TF on Sunday Evening, call it a night at a sensible time, continue on Monday evening, and if necessary, conclude on the Following Sunday evening.
This, of course, means potentially leaving your toon locked into the TF for a week.
So far I've got:
1) Aerial Deceiver.
2) Abyssal Chill (I think)
3) Maybe a Doc Green Alt.
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
Shout if any of you Cold Front idiots are interested. We need 8 to start it.
(and yes, this does mean that the Sunday TF's for a while are going to be Shards TF's) -
[ QUOTE ]
Personally i wouldn't expect to see duel pistols any time soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Duel Pistols?
Tier 1 - Take Umbrage
Tier 2 - Demand Satisfaction
Tier 3 - Nominate Second
Tier 4 - Choose Place of Honour
Tier 5 - Load Pistols
Tier 6 - Offer Choice of Weapon to Opponent
Tier 7 - Take 10 Paces
Tier 8 - Turn
Tier 9 - Fire.
Hmm, I think that Waiting until level 32/38 for a damage dealing power could be a bit of a strain. Probably a good job they're not due in I14, obviously need far more work.
(OK, it's far too damn late. I'm going to bed.) -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, I was speaking to the infamous Sal last night, and he recommended we set it up in Warburg, where heroes etc can fight each other too; there's also other badges to work on if you get caught with target downtime. If we can get enough people to come, and log some alts out there (badges for day jobs too!) we should be able to make a strong go of it.
I'm thinking of trying to set one up this weekend some time to at least get the idea rolling; I presume most people are on GMT or close to it time, and possibly mid to late afternoon...? What times would everyone think would be best for them?
I'll pop into CoH to scout out some locations in Warburg for it before bed, but right now I'm editing videos; I was very briefly on BBC News at 10pm yesterdaySee if you can spot me :P
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're going to do this, I'd suggest a) not widely advertising it, because there WILL be some idiots turn up to try and spoil it, and b) be prepared to move locations in Warburg occasionally, although if you were to form up into teams with a few people with +stealth AoE's (Group Invis, Steamy Mist, Arctic Fog, Shadowfall) on each team, you could potentially reduce the risk of being 'stumbled across'.
As far as the Reputation progress goes, you can get rep for defeating someone once every 10 minutes, I believe, and once the targets rep gets to a certain level the amount you get for defeating them scales up, so it accelerates to an extent. Also, Rep degrades at 0.1 point per hour whether or not you're logged in, out, in a pvp zone or not.
Filling a Base Insp storage device with awakens and taking a full tray of said insps into zone would also be a large help, as you can go to base from Warburg, exit base and you're back exactly where you were in Warburg, potentially with another full tray of awakens.
If you're just after the Fusion reactor for the base, then you don't even need to wait 10 minutes between victories to get credit, but at 750 'kills' required, it still takes hours and bleedin' hours to get. (and don't forget to be in SG mode to get credit, too)
Good luck and I may be interested. I'll see what time I'm on tomorrow
:edit:
PS, /hide helps, too. All you need to hide from is searches, unless you're really REALLY paranoid -

One orange Guide (CoT) whilst on Rest should do it (especially if you have some kind of healing spamming power).
[/ QUOTE ]
I think he's talking about his Ill/Storm, so no uninterruptable self heal.
As other people have said, find a CoT Radio Mission.
Clear everything except a single Guide (experiment with Guide level to find the best sweet spot).
Pop a couple of purples and then hit Rest.
Monitor for 5 mins to see if you set the Guide level too high.
Walk away from PC for a day or so.
Come back to either find a) your PC has locked solid due to a memory leak or b) a shiny new badge.
This is all just what I've gathered from reading various boards and guides (no pun intended), and I've never actually been arsed enough to farm for a damage badge, but there you go, that's the guts of it. -
Deep breaths, doc.
OK?
Now step *away* from the thread full of wild speculation from the outset.
Massively's article contained no evidence other than a journalists opinion that CoH2 was going to be announced. Until there's hard evidence in the form of an official statement from NCSoft and/or NCNC, then I'm not going to waste any effort thinking about it.
Quite how this thread has (yet again) devolved into a PvP thread is a little confusing, but at least it's being moderately well behaved this time. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks to the team to tonight for helping me over the line to 50
And of course to the many Cold Front team mates over the last 30 weeks (wow did we really start in the summer?!?)
Have a great Christmas and see you all in 2009!
[/ QUOTE ]
Congrats again, Blap.
Would have happened a few weeks back if you hadn't vanished for a while :P
Anyway, merry thingy-wotsit to the assorted idiots/maniacs/lunatics in Cold Front. -
Well, we started a Manticore last night...
And then gave up after the first mission due to multiple Mapserver Disconnects which, while they weren't kicking us out of the game, were bad enough to ruin any enjoyment.
Wonder how many people we'll have tonight? -
<mutters dire curses at BT for killing his connection twice>
And I'm not even on BT DSL...
Ah well, we got shiny things from Mutant Dwarf missions, and ended up pummeling about 4 Winter Lord GM's in Talos once we were bored of that.
Anyway, with this coming Sunday being so close to Christmas, any TF that happens will be based entirely on how many people turn up, and what they feel like doing, if anything.
Last Sunday's Lady Grey was... strangely easy. Possibly due to semi-obscene amounts of debuff on the team. -
[ QUOTE ]
Whats the plan for tomorrow? (Assuming we have one)
[/ QUOTE ]
Plan? Doesn't that involve thinking?
Anyway, I was vaguely thinking about a Lady Grey. If we get enough Bodies.
I'm going to post in the Dom Team thread, see if there's any interest from that side of the fence. -
1280x1024, 32bpp, 96dpi.
Not that I'm really in your intended audience, as while I've got the planner installed, I don't use it or any other planners, as I prefer my toons to grow 'organically'.
(this of course leads, as Doc T knows, to my recent habit of not getting travel powers until stupidly late, my current record being not getting Superjump until level 49)
1280x1024, incidentally, is the maximum resolution my olde ancient Trinitron Monitor will handle. That, and the fact that my PC probably wouldn't handle anything more than that either, even if the monitor was capable. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok. I tried what Nibiru suggested and now it works like a charm. Tank you so much.
As for the changing of legal targets from a living foe to a dead one, it only works for the dark extraction. Taping unchain essence when i am targeting a living foe doesn't do anything. I know that u suggested with noting targeted but in a middle of a battle i would need another key just to clear my targeting and i never used that till now.
again tank you guys for your help
[/ QUOTE ]
You need to have nothing targeted for the auto targeting to pick a body, but hit Escape, then Unchain Essence twice, and you should be in business.
But whatever works for you. -
[ QUOTE ]
So i would like to ask if I am doing something wrong or this is a bug that can not be fixed
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the bind question's been answered already, but I'll add a couple of points.
If you're thinking about Unchain Essence then just mashing the power twice with nothing targeted will a) target the nearest body and then b) fire the power.
For Dark Extraction, then you're actually better off targeting a live enemy until they've been defeated and then immediately firing the extraction off on their body while you've still got it targeted, as Extraction can fail if you leave it too long between defeating the opponent and pulling what's left of their soul out to shoot things for you.
This is all in my personal experience, of course. -
Congrats Tolledo on hitting 50 last night.
My lot (eventually) went through Daedalus' first arc, once we'd got Snowjoke and Mirage access to Cimerora.
Quite a nice arc.
Sunday was maybe going to be starting Dr. Q, but thinking about it, leaving th that for the new year would make sense.
When we do go for Dr. Q, it'll be a Sunday, Monday and possibly following Sunday job. Hence leaving it until after the new year, as the 21st of December as a potential TF completion date is too close to Christmas, so people may be away from PC's visiting family etc.
Later. -
[ QUOTE ]
Cold front?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd personally prefer not, because that would be getting dangerously close to triggering my mildly rabid anti-PL stance, especially if the toon isn't even up to SO's.
The people who've been getting SK'd recently I've not had problems with because they were CF toons. Frozen Lard, for example was built for Cold Front, even though he's only been an irregular attendee.
Besides, I once made the mistake of being SK'd up to some friends on my Ice/Ice tanker when I was on DO's. I've never felt so useless on a team. I didn't have all my survival tools, I was squishy as hell, and all in all I felt like a useless leech.
However, I'm moderately open to being converted/convinced by a sensible argument.
Anyway, on to other things. Good luck getting your migraines sorted, Weiss.
Tonight's TF is going to be a continuation of last weeks Positron. There's only the last 4 Defeat All missions to do, so it shouldn't be too bad. -

Hi Guys
After much fun milking a cluster of Master Illusionists for their pets and getting the Archmage accolade I noticed I was 19000000 damage into the 100000000 damange badge. Bearing in mind it too me the best part of 30 months to get 19000000 dmg what is the best (quickest) way of getting the rmaining 81000000 needed for the badge??? As much as I love the badge list feature that shows progress I think in this case ignorance was bliss
Same goes for the hold ones too really - as a lvl 50 fire tank what is best was of doing these with minimal death?
[/ QUOTE ]
Damage taken badges? Rest + a minion pounding on you for hours on end.
Also known a AFK farming, I believe.
hang on a sec...
<insert 5 minutes digging through US guides board here>
Read this thread for quite possibly far more info than you may want on the subject.
For the time mezzed badges, your best bet is likely to be a map with only one Malta Sapper left on it, as they do next to zero damage, but lots of mez if you get them in melee.
Personally, I've never had the inclination to AFK farm for badges, but if that's what floats your boat, then good luck. -

Hey all! After a 3 year break...
[/ QUOTE ]
<sigh>
3 years? Oh dear.
I remember you going, I think.
Have I really been playing that long?
Welcome back, you'll find that what is best described as 'a metric truckload' of things have changed. -

What is the lowest level you would accept? Kind of want to bring my ice tank(should be post SO iirc need to check it)

Lowest level I'd accept for what?
