maybe you are right, but its still to situational to be worth the cost of something that works all the time, such as a leadership power.
wut
Hurricane is so much better then a leadership power, it's not even close. It's not situational. Anyone who tells you Hurricane is situational doesn't know how to use it.
Hurricane causes -35% To-Hit when 3 slotted with To-Hit debuffs. You know how much defense Maneuvers gives you 3 slotted? 4%.
All you need to do is press the outside of the enemy mobs. Thats it. It's not hard. -
Quote:In certain situations, it's great. When a mob is already in a place where you can easily position them, sure, go for it.I'm sorry, are you saying locking a full spawn of foes in a conference room with an angry tornado and lightning storm is a stupid waste of time?
The problem is, people think they HAVE to be doing this in order for Hurricane to be effective. They don't. Hell, you could toggle on Hurricane and FORGET IT, and it would still be incredibly effective. -
I had an Elec/Kin, but I ended up deleting it, because it seems that Elec makes some of Kins powers redundant.
Static Field already gives tons of endurance to your team, and Conductive Aura gives end to you, thus reducing the benefits from Speed Boost and Transference. -
Quote:Dear Miladys Knight.I think that elec 3 isn't the best blapper selection.
Ice/Elec/Force is probably your best bet with Energy/Elec/Force a close second.
When someone says, 'Im going X set, help me with X set" DON'T TELL THEM TO GO ANOTHER SET!
Seriously, it's just rude and dooshy. Elec^3 works just fine.
Now to the OP, since you are going Elec APP, I might not build for S/L defense. S/L defense is very easy to softcap, but only if you go Ice or Mace for your Epic. With an Elec Epic, I would consider building for Ranged Defense. Even as a Blapper, ranged damage is the biggest form of incoming damage to you, especially if you kite around and leap in and out of melee.
Ranged defense will also protect you from most forms of Mezzes. -
...It's not that hard to use...
I toggle it on and "press" the outside of the mob, just enough to keep them debuffed, but without repeling them all over the place.
You DON'T need to get all crazy with it, herding up mobs, positioning them and whatever. I don't even know why people tell you to do this, since it is mostly a waste of time. Hurricane is stupid powerful just toggled on and skimming the outskirts of the mob. -
On the Kinetic Melee side, the skippable stuff is 1 of the first two powers(I personally like Quick Strike to fill in attack chains, but Body Blow is just fine to), and Focused Burst.
On the /EA side, the skippable stuff is Energy Protection, Repulse, and Conserve Power.
Slotting wise, what you really want to do is softcap your defense. That means taking Tough/Weave, and slotting for Smashing/Lethal, Fire, Ice and Negative Energy defense. At the very least, attempt to softcap Smashing/Lethal. It's difficult to softcap all of them, but its pretty easy to softcap Smashing/Lethal and Energy Defense, which will cover most of the damage. -

It's not you personally, It's just that your response, "Go Fire/Dark" pretty much pops up in EVERY single corrupter thread on this board.
It could be a post like "Help me tweak this Sonic/Rad build" and someone would say, "Go Fire/Dark". -
Quote:Rain of Arrows>Rain of Fire. Unlike Rain of Fire, it deals all it's damage within a few seconds of casting.I agree with your feelings regarding fire/dark. It is very good, but so are a lot of corrs. Some are considerably stronger than fire/dark in late game too, for those that are patient.
I disagree that archery for corrs does more aoe than fire for corrs. Rain of fire tripple scourges and as a result just ends up being rediculously good for corrs. -
You know, I'm starting to get sick of this.
Fire/Dark is good yes. It's easy yes. But it doesn't stand head and shoulders above the rest of the combos like half of the corrupter boards says it does.
Fire/Dark is pretty much the exact same in terms of damage and survivability as Fire/Rad, Fire/Traps, and Fire/Storm.
And even then, other primaries bring plenty to the table as well. Rad Blast, Sonic Blast, Archery, Ice Blast, all great primaries that bring their own strengths to the party. Rad Blast brings great AoE, solid single target with some good control, amazing -Defense, and the ability to slot the dirt cheap Achilles Heels. Sonic is an *amazing* soloer, and Siren's Song is soooo good with sets like /Dark and /Rad. Archery brings great overall damage, and AMAZING AoE, which is actually BETTER AoE then Fire Blast. And Ice of course brings good single target damage, decent AoE, and fantastic control.
So my message to the Corrupter Boards. Stop it. Fire/Dark is not the ultimate combo. -
Quote:I personally can't stand Mind Control with assault sets that do big AOE damage, though. I just need an every-fight hard control. By hard control, I mean that the foes cant wake or retaliate. So I consider AOE confuse, AOE stun, and AOE hold to be hard control of the type I'm talking about. Mind just doesn't have it. Maybe if you get massive recharge you could get Mass Confusion down to once a fight. But I just don't like the inability to prevent retaliation once I damage the foes, at least for using lots of AOE.
I think Mind is a beautiful set if you are going with something more single-targety, like Energy or Electric.
But I know that is an unpopular opinion. Lots of folks love their Mind Doms.
Lewis
Terrify is up every fight even with SO slotting. Yes, it is not complete hard control but it works pretty decently.
With Permadom status, you will always have either Mass Confuse or Total Domination up every fight.
::edit:: Btw, im not trying to say that Mind is all that much better then Earth for soloing. Yes, Mind gets alot of really useful solo powers, and earth is primarily AoE, but Earth gets a Pet, and a really good one at that. -
Fire/Storm is one of my favorites. Fire/Dark is IMHO, overrated. Yes, it is a great combo, but not better then something like Fire/Storm or even Fire/Traps.
Fire/Storm, Fire/Traps, Fire/Rad and Fire/Dark are all pretty even in terms of soloability, debuffing, and teaming capabilities. Fire/Kin is less solo friendly, but more team friendly, and *ultimately* outdamages all corrupters, but not until late game.
Fire/Cold is somewhat similar to Fire/Storm, but is more team based, less solo friendly, and blooms much later. -
It depends entirely on the corrupter. Traditionally, debuff sets solo much better then buff sets.
Arch/Arch is a tolerable soloer, but not the best. This is because Trick Arrow is unfortunetly, an underpowered set.
Sets like /Rad, /Traps, /Dark and /Storm will solo better. -
Slot Whirling Hands like an attack. It's a good one. People seem to miss the fact that Dominator Whirling Hands has the same radius as *Footstomp*.
Personally, I would take Power Push over Levitate. Better damage, and lower cast time, for a very similar effect. And it looks really cool. -
-
Rad is one of my absolute favorite blaster sets. Good single target, good AoE, great secondary effect. Slot all of your AoE's with an Achilles Heel:Chance for -Resistance, as well as Neutrino Bolt. Bam, -20% resistance to everything.
-
Quote:*past lvl 38.Archery and AR doesnt have nuke... thats the whole point.
Anyways.
Kin > all in the damage house.
Fire > all in the damage house. The only match would be Sonic because of supperior single target damage through res debuff. The rest is purely inferior.
Thats the big kicker with /Kin. -

Quote:I never had any problems with my Stalker, The Hit point thing is there weak point and that fine we all can't be invincible all the time.
Stalkers Should Always be in hide, you go up to the bad guys, Assassin Strike and hit Placate and Attack again and repeat.
I don't no Why everyone think Stalkers are like Scrappers and Brutes are like Tankers, you can't compare them together.
There nothing wrong with there Defense or Resistance, Hide is part of there Defensive in battle and Junk Sloted it better.
You pretty much get hide to Start off with in this game, if it give you an Option to have it when first creating him or her, take it as soon as Possible.
However I will agree with the AS Uninterrupted Part I agree
Again dude there nothing wrong with Stalker Secondary, never had an issue yet, Maybe you need to learn more about how Stalkers really work.
Stalker Damage is Amazing once you Assassin Strike people, Sloted well will take out a yellow Color Foe, that how you play your Stalker by Stealth not by how other Melee's type of toons do things.
Dude your hilarious.
"Stalker is damage is amazing once you get assassin strike".
Thank you. Im sure NONE of the stalker players here, who have been playing stalkers for YEARS, have EVER gotten to level *6*. -
Out of those 4, the Elec/Elec scrapper would be the most suited to farming, but would work better as a Brute.(No Taunt inherent in attacks makes mobs run from scrappers)
Another non-traditional farmer is Rad/Mental or Arch/Mental Blasters. -
