How many times and in how many ways does Lighthouse need to say, "This is the best we could do with the time resources we have right now?"
I appreciate the people who are posting alternatives, but let;'s not make any presumptions about how things are organized and what could have been done with the time they had, please.
Further tweaks may be forthcoming, please feel free to say what direction you want them to take. However, softloading that allows 1 person to set up rewards for 8 is RIGHT OUT. Let's start from there.
[/ QUOTE ]
See thats the thing.
Im sick and tired of this method of doing things. They fix a *Problem*, promise to revisit it later on, and meanwhile, everyone suffers for *years*.
Just wait until you have the FULL TIME to devote to this issue before you change things. Softspawning Caps is not hurting anybody.
Quite contrary, its singularly supporting the PoS villain Pool C economy. -
[ QUOTE ]
All for a TF change? Sheesh.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. Im just getting really bored of this game. The TF change was part of it, but not the whole reason. -
After I get my Wii next month, I will probably let my account expire as well.

I am not being snarky, but truely want to know. If you can do the cap sf in 30 min or less, why do you need katie? They have the same rewards, but the cap doesnt have 10 av's. What is the difference? I havent done the cap sf(havent found a team) but would like to know.
[/ QUOTE ]
Katie is much faster than the Cap SF.
With a decent team, Cap takes 45-50 minutes.
With a decent team, Katie takes 20-30 minutes. -

My two cents:
Obviously this is a middle ground between "how it used to be" and "how it is now on Live." Despite a substantial amount of rational arguments in favor of scrapping the change altogether and reverting back to the old system, the rednames seem adamant on shaking things up for god knows what reason...
[/ QUOTE ]
To reiterate my original statement about farming Task / Strike Force and Trial statements for RMT purposes and to echo Positron's follow up statement; the reason for the change to these missions is to curb the following behavior:
8 people start a Task Force.
7 people log off and allow the 1 character that's a strong solo build to solo to the end.
The 7 other people log on just before the finish.
Complete the mission and 8 people obtain Pool C rewards for the work of 1 person.
The above behavior is something that we are not allowing to continue.
We understand that there is more work that can be done on these missions. We appreciate and value your feedback on that front.
[/ QUOTE ]
Than give Villains the equivalent of Katie. We have said this multiple times, the ONLY thing that was keeping Villains pool C market alive was the Quick Caps.
You just effectively ruined the Villains pool C market.
Way to go.
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps it is throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but the change is one that we view as necessary. 7 people benefiting from one person's actions is just wrong in our eyes.
We understand there are concerns with the impact of the market and more we can do on that front. We are listening, watching and playing ourselves.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heres a novel concept.
Why don't you wait to nerf the Cap runs UNTIL you actually have a good alternative.
My bad, we all know its Cryptic/NCsofts design method to nerf something, than wait *years* before you fix it. (Why hello thar, Enhancement Diversification!) -
The fact that Lighthouse is actually trying to justify these actions by blaming RMT people is ridiculous.
Farming Caps was under NO circumstances good money. It was TERRIBLE money. But I did it anyways because...
A. I wanted to help out the market
B. There was virtually no other way for me to get those recipes for my characters.
Farming TV missions, and the Boat mission is FAR better money, and I doubt the RMT people would even bother trying to put teams together for Caps. -
[ QUOTE ]
This is a good compromise.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you hate villains. Which, you know, I gotta say, im usually not one to rail on the devs for "zomg they hate villains"...
...But... Actions really speak louder than words. Everything the Devs have done recently have basically screwed villains over.
Way to go. -

Villain market still sucks.
TF changes still make villain market suck.
Fix plz. -
So the question is gonna be..
In 2-3 months from now, will I make enough money selling my 3 LoTG's to give my Ice/Psi dom 5 Purple set? -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm all for the change. Anything that slows down farmers is fine in my book.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have never seen anybody remotly "RMT"ish farming Caps. Its just not very good money.
What I *do* see is players who want to help out the market, and help out their IO' builds farming Caps.
The Devs failed pretty hard at stopping RMT farmers. -

******* News Flash*********
Miracle+ recovery sells for 100 mill
Lotg+ rech sells for 100 mill
These are record prices. If you dont believe me go check the BM sales logs.
Thanks Dev's . Good job!!!!!!!!!!! I applaud you for killing the lifeblood of an already anemic BM. Way to go!!!
Less than a week with this change and its ALREADY happenning. ARGH! I had hoped to pick up a few for a piddly 60 mill and resell them later for 200 mill a pop. If you have funds on redside? Now is the time to scoop up pool C uniques and sit on them for a month.Don't delay or you will miss out. AS stated above they are already at 100 million as oppossed to 40-60.

Proof that this change is comprised of epic failure.

Fix the god damn tech bug in the RSF (and every elevator/door in the game)
Give villains a katie equivalent, so that they can get recipes in half an hour like the heroes.
[/ QUOTE ]
I keep hearing that villains are doing cap in 20 min. that not good enough?
[/ QUOTE ]
not anymore...can still do it quick but not like that. and the 20 mins is probably just for the first part...w/ last mission it is more around 30 mins but you cannot do that with a team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats quicker than katie and you dont fight 10 av's. What do you want them to do, copy cap and give it to heroes and giv kati to vills? 1 30 min df not good enough? People seem to have this fixation on katie. I mean she is hot, but give her a break.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but I've done cap a few times and I've done KHTF a lot... results?
Best time on KHTF = 19 min WITH A FULL TEAM OF 8
Best time on CAP = 27 min SOFT LOADED for one
Mary and her squad are cake when you have 6 blasters rotating their nukes on the spawns. That was the best KHTF I did. Other's averaged around 30 min with 8 man teams.
[/ QUOTE ]
you still can only do 1 every 3 hours.

Don't thank in advance for that which will never be there...

Srsly. I just don't understand the devs mindset here. It seems that any other type of farming is A-Ok, as LONG as its not recipe farming. what da hell?
[censored] they, ENCOURAGED farming with the Purples, and now this is a wet dream to RMT farmers. -
Sorry Devs, you didn't think this one through.
Minimum TF size for the Shadowshard TF's is EIGHT. So if *anyone* drops, your still stuck with their spawns. On the longest TF's in the game.
And all to solve a *percieved* imbalance. The only TF being farmed like this was the Cap au Diable TF, and it was the *only* thing keeping the Villain market afloat. Without it, the prices for Class C recipes are going to SKYROCKET.
In truth, you actually made farming EASIER for RMT farmers. All they need to do is start a Shadowshard TF, and than they have an *unlimited* amount of 8 man spawns at their disposal.
Please revert this change. In no way does this fix any percieved problems with Task Forces, and in fact makes a good deal of Task Forces(the ones that were *already* considered un-fun) significantly more difficult. -
I heartily agree with this proposal, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
Also, I think the Devs should just move their offices into a Holiday Inn. That way they wouldn't fail so much. -

I envy you and your ability to accept all the challenge in playing a spines/regen. I just don't have it in me to play a build that hard.
P.S.: I was worried this thread was deadbut you came through and brought the lulz back to life, ty.

this is some of the best forum PvP I've seen since YocIant. Next thing you know, Psion is gonna start calling himself "Justice's Bane"
[/ QUOTE ]
My personal favorite is when he called me out for attacking him with 2 corrupters and a Stalker, than trying to challenge me to actually fight him.
For those of you not on Justice, Psion has a *very* long history of *only* coming out of the Hospital when the side favors him, and even than always targets corrupters, than runs away, usually back to the Hospital.
When Psion has been challenged to actually fight me, either in Arena or Zone, whichever he prefers, he ALWAYS refuses. His comments are virtually identical to those posted here. Aka, Aid Self is teh hax, /Inv is godmode in pvp, and there is no way either of use could ever win.

CoH has a bigger population, who whine more, and whine louder than the CoV community. They hold forum population majority. CoV was made specifically to generate more econ to pump into CoH. The devs can save both time and funds simply by creating co-content that short-changes CoV but is specifically, for some reason, beneficial and useful to players of CoH. Any and all one-sided villain content is eventually transferred to CoH and given a buff. Content that was originally hero-side, will, with some reluctance, will be given to CoV. However, said content will be thouroughly re-worked, and it will be stated said content will be 'more powerful' than its hero counterpart, and it will turn out to be craptastic in comparison. Villain issues will be backburnered in favor of hero issues. There will never be any more villain-side only content, but expect more hero-side only content in the near future.
The Devs do not give a [censored] about CoV in the short run. They only care about it as long as it brings in money so they can fuel blue-side, which in turn, means they have to make a few mediocure attempts at improving the red-side content. They do so slowly, reluctantly, and poorly.
That turned into a rant. All of the above is OPINION, only SOME of it is necessarily fact.

What ol Candleschtick fails to mention here while he's beating his own drum is that he actually lost to Tiger the day before, then made it up by beating him twice afterwards the next day. Ive now had at least 2 people tell me this is the case.
Also- Im rather careful with the word 'skill' around Candle, Zen- an Invul Brute with the Dull Pain/Aide Self build is about the easiest build to play in the game, and one of the hardest to out-DPS the defenses.
Ill give him credit for slotting a build thats about as carbon copy as it gets, but thats about as far as it goes.....

ur a spines/Regen that runs at the slightest wiff of a challenge.
gfy.
And no, I never lost to this guy. Blood beat him 4-0.

Translation: "Since you wont sit still and let me pound on you-even though when you did Ive never killed you straight up- you run from what I deem are 'challenges.' Damn you for playing smart and gaining tons of rep and bounty each time you set foot in the zone-even when Im there."
