I would love CTF so much, but I honestly can't think of any game mechanic that we currently have that could replicate it.
But Im not Castle, I haven't the foggiest idea what the engine is capable of. -

tk will no longer affect players? sucks balls for me
[/ QUOTE ]
The hold will still affect players; the repel will not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Translation. TK is useless -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks Castle, good to know you're listening
And Castle said only the repel portion of tk will not effect players.
GOD bless,
Shem
[/ QUOTE ]
The Repel portion of TK was the only part that EVER affected players.
The hold on TK is 1.5. Aka none. -

I support this nerf cuz I never abused it

Using TK wasn't an abuse. -
Ex Libris was born in Hamburg, the child of a Japaneese Astronomer.
At an early age, Ex Libris learned to fight by Appearing On The Contender.
An early influence was the Witty but Flatulent superhero known as UrbanPriest.
Tragedy struck as Our Hero Mistakenly Killed A Peaceful Alien.
To get over this tragic event, the young Ex Libris took up Breeding Chihuahuas.
She also found consolation in the poignant music of IceEat, which was kind of a fusion between Japanese Percussion and Elevator music..
Ex Libris attended classes at Harvard, receiving a degree in Computer Science.
Ex Libris then moved to Paragon City, taking a job as a Electrician by day, and vowing to end Sedition by night.
Once there, a chance encounter with the Fearless hero known as CaptainProf lead to an invitation to join the legendary Energy Squadron.
From there, Ex Libris carved out a reputation, earning the nickname Chief Executive Officer of Autumn.
To be continued.... -

Wow! Check dates folks and then figure out if implementation is possible.
Over reaction and burning all your resource bridges FTW!

Overreaction?
Ex, its quite apparent that the Devs did not consider PvP at all when the powerset Proliferation came out.
Forgive us for pointing out the obvious. -

Isn't it a great feeling to be totally ignored?

But they stickied this thread. That must mean they care right?
Right?

Perhaps if you continue to pay 15$ a month, they will continue to pretend that they care. -

heroes get all the good stuff from vill side, villains seem a little short changed
[/ QUOTE ]
Could this be because Villains have the better powersets? After proliferation, Heroes have five sets that Villains don't have access to aside from the Blaster Secondaries.
Illusion Control
Empathy
Archery
Broadsword
Katana
After proliferation, Villains have seven sets that Heroes don't have access to aside from the Mastermind Primaries.
Energy Aura
Ninjutsu
Ninja Blade
Electric Armor
Electric Melee
Traps
Poison
While I think Katana is better than Axe or War Mace for Brutes because of the faster animation times, it doesn't fit as well conceptually.
Illusion control would be great for Dominators, but I'm willing to wait on it. The sets we're receiving in Issue 12 gives me hope that Dominators will be getting two completely new Powersets in Issue 13, Electric Control and Earthen Assault.
Is Archery better than Electric Blast? Animation times are about the same, Electric has End Drain, Archery has +Acc, Electric is Energy damage, Archery is Lethal. I think it comes down to taste.
I think the only really good Hero sets that Villains don't have access to are Illusion Control and Empathy. As a pure "buff" set, Empathy is inappropriate for Corrupters, but could be useful for Masterminds. Empathy for Masterminds would need to be tweaked because of Bodyguard. As near as I can tell, Abosrb Pain on a minion + Bodyguard = endless damage loop.

Nice perspective, Lightfoot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im pretty sure most of the villains are upset about these things.
A. SR instead of Regen for Brutes.
B. Elec Blast instead of Psi Blast for Corrupters
C. Anything/Anything other than Elec/Elec for Stalkers
D. Earth/Elec instead of Ill/Dark for Dominators
Well, that and Heroes getting pretty much the most potent PvP sets in the game. Heres a challenge for you Lighthouse. Go roll up a 3v3 team of Heroes vs Villians in Arena. Really figure out what is happening in PvP when you bring Psi Blast, and Powerboosted Cold Debuffs and Powerboosted Thermal Debuffs vs Villains. -

Zen, there's no 'story' here. Anyone that lost to a db/ scrapper, ESPECIALLY in 1v1, should go back to pve
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, he was DB/Regen actually, not DB/Will.
And Gnome, the only players Tiger Paw would ever duel would be melee toons. And since DB actually DOES have good dps... he could actually kick alot of Melee toons [censored].
Anything thats NOT a melee toon? Yeah, they should pretty much just /quit. -

On another note, I agree with Arcanaville's suggestion of giving Lucky to Regeneration and Instant Healing to SR. Considering that most Regeneration Scrappers end up cowering behind Tankers while the real heroes (like Blasters) lead the attack, the only thing they'll have to fear is AoEs targeting the Tanker (not coincidentally, this is why Spines/Regen is such a popular combination: All the ranged attacks mean that they won't have to worry about exposing their weak, defenseless selves to any danger).

You have to get to lvl 41 before you can experience for yourself if PPP's suck. How would this stop new players from entering the rogue isles?

Like 5 new ones plz.
Number of Hero TF/Trials- 23
Number of Villain SF/Trials-9 -

Some of those are debatable and subjective. However, I see your point but don't agree that this change in TF requirements in all the game-breaking.
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is... The exploit wasn't game breaking either.
Like I said, NOBODY was being hurt by the Cap farms. There is most definitely going to be some hurt from changing it though. -

How many times and in how many ways does Lighthouse need to say, "This is the best we could do with the time resources we have right now?"
I appreciate the people who are posting alternatives, but let;'s not make any presumptions about how things are organized and what could have been done with the time they had, please.
Further tweaks may be forthcoming, please feel free to say what direction you want them to take. However, softloading that allows 1 person to set up rewards for 8 is RIGHT OUT. Let's start from there.
[/ QUOTE ]
See thats the thing.
Im sick and tired of this method of doing things. They fix a *Problem*, promise to revisit it later on, and meanwhile, everyone suffers for *years*.
Just wait until you have the FULL TIME to devote to this issue before you change things. Softspawning Caps is not hurting anybody.
Quite contrary, its singularly supporting the PoS villain Pool C economy.
[/ QUOTE ]
To be fair, the devs did roll back a couple of "fixes" rather then putting them live. For example, stacking buffs like CM and Rage come to mind. They could have screwed over us players then but chose to implement a different change and revisit another time.

And yet their track record shows that this is the exception, and not the norm.
