While I'm not hugely fond of choosing yet another late blooming powerset combo (Fire/Psi Dominator back before they buffed Psi's early game? *shudder*), it seems like an extremely powerful combo...
When I say late blooming, I am really talking more about IO's.

Shield actually gets many of their *good* powers early in the game. The two defense shields, True Grit, the Mez protection, and Against all Odds, which is a fantastic aggro aura, as well as +dam buff.

The only other *key* power that you don't get till 35 is Shield Charge.

But the main difference is, that until you start building for +Def with IO's, Shield is one of the frailest sets out there. Which, depending on how you level, may not even be an issue(Like teaming up with a Tank, or a Troller or something that can easily keep you alive)

One of the nice things about shield, is that you have 2 extremely easy to skip powers, and one that is *sorta* easy to skip, which lets you fit in Tough/Weave without alot of issue.
  3. 1. FM/WP vs Kat/WP.

Fire will deal *significantly* more damage then katana, for two reasons, one being that the powers themselves are just more damaging, and two, because later on in the game, Lethal becomes fairly resisted, while Fire is the least resisted damage type in the game.

But conversely, Katana will stay alive better. Personally, I always like going more damage, because I can help cover gaps in defenses with IO's, or just pop a purple or something. I tend to play highly aggressive and consider a good offense>Defense, so I would go FM/WP. But that is just me.

    2. FM/WP vs FM/SD.
FM/WP will be the easier combo to level, especially during the earlier levels. It's a bit more survivable, and starts out of the gate pretty strong. /Shield on the other hand, is pretty frail until you start IOing it out, but has significantly better damage in Shield Bash as well as Against All Odds. Once you start IOing it out, and softcap your defense, it becomes incredibly powerful.

So in short, FM/WP=Good leveling whole game. FM/SD=Later bloomer, needs IO's, but damage starts skyrocketing.

Now, here's the neat part. Take a white onion, clean it (remove the outer layers) and then put that in the grater as well. Add the shoestring'd onion bits, vary depending upon your preference, to the potato mixture.

For convenience, you can use a cookie pan to spread out the mixture to about an inch thick. Separate into serving size portions while still on the sheet. Pop the sheet into the freezer. Once frozen, take out and put into a snap-seal plastic bag.

Voila. Quick and tasty hashbrowns that cook up with a bit of butter and salt real good. If you are feeling adventurous, you can throw in some chopped garlic as well to the pre-frozen mixture.

Just use a box grater. It does the exact same thing.

Now, I do have Martial Arts slightly higher than Broad Sword for DPS at the top end. But both are put to shame by Katana running a DPS chain.

Anyway, back on topic, I'd suggest Shield Defense. Even after the inevitable nerf, Shield Charge will add to your AoE. Shield Defense doesn't need help from the primary to be survivable. Against All Odds will buff your damage output to something reasonable. Hmmm, looks like I just said the same thing as DSorrow.
Across the whole game? Sure, it might only be around 8%.

But in the 35+ Category, the part of the game that takes the longest? No, not even close.

    Educate yourself.

We just posted them so that there was no confusion about what is expected of you as a member of the channel.

All player-created content, even private channels, are subject to the EULA and player Code of Conduct. If you want a channel where you can harrass and verbally assault people, the by all means create it. Just don't be surprised if it's not too popular, or if there are reprecussions.
The thing is, there was very little player harassment involved, and nobody argued over people being silenced for it.(There was a little inter-player drama earlier in the chat, and a person got silenced, but it didn't really create an issue)

What people got pissed off about was when people got silenced for the general off-topic justice chat.

::edit:: I was not aware JFA had more lax rules. In that case, we don't really need a third channel, we just need to use JFA more for these conversations.

Considering I very rarely even use Placate on my Elec Stalk, I see no reason Fire would be a bad choice.

I would *love* FM on stalks.
  10. I'm not in Beta, so I can't confirm, but rumor has it that MA is getting some major buffs in GR. I would wait and see what these are, so we know what is going to actually synergize with it.

Again, pure hearsay, and I have no idea what these changes are.

Basically, people in Justice United were talking general late night Justice chat. Aka, going all over the spectrum in topics. Moderators started tossing out silences, and generally getting well... Pissy. Some people were not pleased.

Yes, I think it's time Justice has a third "Main" channel, but this one should NOT be considered a "Family" channel. Most of us are adults, and should be able to discuss things normally, without having to moderate our language down to a G rated level, or be smacked if we start having conversations outside of "sanctioned" areas.

I do have a channel ready to go, "Heretics of Justice", but really, anyone who feels like taking the initiative and creating a third main channel for Justice should do so.

Justice United and JFA have their places, but they also have limitations that irritate many adult players.

(Btw, Simple Sugar is 1 part water, 1 part sugar. Bring it to a boil until sugar is completly dissolved, and allow to cool. Use in replacement of normal sugar, cause trying to sugar up Iced Tea when it is cold..Well, kinda sucks)

Agreed. Fire/Kin, although really *any* AoE heavy primary+Kin will make a SS/Elec brute team into an unstoppable juggernaught.

I'll just say that Electric Kettles are one of the most useful things to have in a Kitchen. I have no idea why they are not that popular in the US. You go into a supermarket and will find an entire row of Stovetop Kettles, and only a meager selection of Electric Kettles.

Find the biggest, most powerful one you can find, and treasure it. I use mine for a gazillion different things, tea, coffee, adding boiling water to any recipe, soaking corn husks for tamales, and well.. Anything that requires a liquid to come to a boil..

Then again I have a lady at work who makes hers in her own samovar (which, yes, she keeps at the office; I presume she has one at home as well). Which, frankly, beats all other methods of preparation for sheer coolness.
Well, what I do is grab two cups. One cup for the blooming, then strain into another cup for drinking. I just bring my strainer with me to work if I want a cup of tea there.

Is fire / mental manipulation faster at solo leveling then ice / mental?
Fire/Mental is faster yes... But not nearly a safe. For general solo play, your best bet is going to be Ice/Mental or Ice/Ice.

When you play Solo, there is generally little need for alot of AoE. It's on teams that you want to have lots of AoE, and that is where stuff like Fire/Mental is godlike.

Buy either of the following: Either a reusable teabag made from metal mesh, a tea infuser, or if you're lazy like me get a box of single use bamboo paper teabags.
I would just like to disagree with this.

    1. You are buying a specialized piece of kitchenware that serves little other purpose.
    2. Teabags and Infusers don't give enough room for the tea to bloom. Just let it sit loose.

To strain, pretty much everyone should have one of these in their kitchen anyways.

    There you go.

Most of the time though, I simply turn on my Electric Kettle, put 1-2 teaspoons in a mug, poor in the boiling water, let them bloom for 4 minutes then strain.

::Edit:: BTW, loose leaf is the only way to go. Look online if you can't find any local sellers for loose leaf.
  20. Er guys... Palpatine does die in the Death Star. The Dark Empire series doesn't dispute this.

The Palpatine in the Dark Empire series is a clone, not the real thing. Apparently the emperor scattered clones of himself over the universe for contingencies just like this.

Mind you, I think the whole 'Clone" thing is overused, and is a complete MacGuffin, but Vader really does kill Palpatine.

    Demons vs Thugs

Thugs do deal more damage then Demons, but what Demons have is tons of extra stuff. Elemental damage, holds, slows, heals, etc.

    Ss/ela

And keep in mind, this is SS/Elec. That means Footstomp. And footstomp is a power we want up as much as possible. It doesn't matter if you can chain a ST attack chain, footstomp is the real workhorse in SS, and hasten helps it out immensely.

Unless you've got some reason to need an extreme amount of Recharge, I think that Hasten would be redundant.
I'm gonna go with... "Because Hasten is incredibly useful, and stacking +recharge on top of more +recharge is ALWAYS a good thing."

Seriously, just because Elec arm has Lightning Reflexes, doesn't mean that Hasten somehow becomes terrible. In fact, with stuff like Energize, you really want Hasten, so you can fire it off as much as possible.

To the OP, easiest thing to skip is grounded. Toss some KB IO's in your resist powers/CJ, and you are golden. Power Surge is the next easiest. If you don't team alot, you can skip Lightning Field, but I wouldn't really recommend it alot.

You don't have to kite all the time. Kiting is for when you bite off more then you can chew and need to survive. That is one of the things about Fire/Regen, it will survive better then pretty much any other secondary when played right. If a Fire/WP bites off a huge chunk of aggro, and starts taking significant amount of damage, he can't just leap back a few feat, fire off a heal, and get right back in the game. He either has to completely run away, giving himself enough time to regen back, pop pills(Which the regen can do as well), or stand in the middle of the mob and hope like hell that RTTC suddenly starts working twice as fast. :P
  25. My vote goes for Fire/Regen. It's a ton of fun, starts off strong and stays strong through the entire game. It plays differently then many scrappers, you actually kite around to minimize damage to yourself, and to give you breathing room for your heals.

And it does a ton of damage.
