Quote:The Adam West Batman show was *terrible*. You can watch the whole thing as a joke, but thats about it.
I don't even know how to approach this comment mentally, never mind what I might say in response to it.
I mean, its so bad, that it was funny to watch because it was so bad, but it was even worse then that and it just became bad again. -
Er...Depends on what you are farming. Take your Claws/Fire heroside, and you can just farm the Behemoth mish with SO's.
Or of course, use AE.
For general play though? I would consider around 1 billion for the price of 3-4 sets of Kinetic Combats+Obliterations to add S/L defense to increase fires survivability. And of course, tough and weave. -
Fire/Kin is ultimate high-end damage dealer, but it takes a while to get there. Fire/Dark is a good damage dealer as well, and blooms much earlier.
/Rad is another good damage dealing set, although not quite as good as Dark or Kin. Cold and Storm are not bad either, but Cold kinda blooms really late for their damage.
For primaries, Fire is the best, but followed closely by Archery and Rad. -
With 3 lvl 50 Defense IO's, and 10 Enemies, Invinc gives 17.8% defense.
-
Im curious why Crabs don't go Soul rather then Mu or Leviathan. Gloom is the best ST attack, which helps out Crabs fairly lackluster ST damage. all of the animations are fast, and Tentacles has only 5 degree smaller arc then School.
Dark Obliteration is certainly one of the lowest for damage, but it also has the fastest attack speed, and the -tohit synergizes well with Crabs defense. -
So kinda of a random question.
Anyone got a good recommendation for a pair of earbuds that are good for running, and other athletic activities? I've gone through a bunch of earbuds, but it seems none of them stay in very well when I am running. All the sweat and stuff just makes them slip right out.
Would prefer to stick with earbuds over headphones, due to the smaller size, and the fact that they can fit in my pocket. -
It's a fantastic power. Definitely not a glorified rest. Especially for Ice/Cold where you don;t have a self-heal. Taking to much damage? Hibernate to full. Accidently aggroed way to much, and now you got 2 bosses and half the mob focused on you? Hibernate till your team takes aggro.
Bind it to an easy to reach key so you can press it immediately. -
....Thats a Dark/Fire build, not a Claws/Fire...
And I think Claws/Fire is fantastic. Tons of damage, claws light end use is great for fire, and *needing* to stack FU isn't really an issue if you just stop thinking about it like a buff. Think about it like an attack, and just chain it into your attacks. It just becomes natural. -
Well, it kinda depends on how you want to level, and how much you want the *best* farmer.
SS/Fire is the best for farming, due to late game Footstomp+Burn+Patron AoE. It kills stuff dead really really fast. But it takes a while to get to there.
Claws/Fire blooms alot earlier. Rather then waiting till lvl 32 for its AoE, it gets Spin at 8, then another AoE, Shockwave, at 32. Yes, Shockwave is not ideal for farming, due to the knockback, but it is still a fantastic power, especially for normal missions, due to the extra damage mitigation it brings.
In addition, Claws require alot less investment for amazing payoffs. Even with the consume changes, SS/Fire is an EXTREME end hog. It burns through the blue bar like nothing else. Claws on the other hand, is very friendly to the end bar, and doesn't really *need* IO investment to make it into a buzzsaw of death. Mind you, IOing out Claws still brings back plenty bang for your buck, but it's not as needed as SS/Fire.
So in summary.... For a late game build, that is absolute top notch at farming, especially if you plan on investing a chunk in IO's, SS/Fire would be the best.
But for general gameplay, and normal leveling, Claws/Fire would take the cake.
::edit:: Should note, Claws/Fire isn't bad for farming by any means, it still farms quite well. But SS/Fire is better for farming. -
Elec/Psi is a nice combo. You don't need Stamina at all between Conductive Aura, Static Field, Drain Pysche, and of course, Domination.
Its got good damage, Drain Pysche REALLY lets you floor the opponents endurance, and keep it there. Plus, it's kinda melee based, which is where Electric likes to be. -
Claws functions pretty much the exact same for Brutes as Scrappers. You can take a look at their guides for info. What I usually do is take everything except the 2nd attack, Taunt, and Eviscerate.

Dark Melee makes /Inv really tough, with the self heal, but I highly dislike the lack of AoE damage. That's just me though. If you find yourself primarily soloing, DM is fantastic.
I am a HUGE fan of Claws, and it pairs well with Inv. Low on endurance cost, builds fury super fast, and has a great mix of AoE and single target damage.
My main character is a Stone/Inv brute, and I love him to death. Stone/Inv is not for the faint of heart, as it is rough on the endurance bar, but with good slotting, it is fantastic. EXTREMELY tough with all the knockdown effects, the hold from Seismic Smash, and of course, the insanely powerful Fault. -
Very useful. It's a decent attack on it's own, but what is really nice is the +to-Hit. The damage boost is tolerable, like eating a medium red, but Brute's don't tend to notice that alot. But the constant To-Hit bonus is fantastic, letting you blend through enemies with high defense, like Rikti Drones, and stuff like that. I recommend slotting it like a regular attack, but tossing in some +to-hit as well. Frankenslotting To-Hit sets with normal Melee sets works really well in this power.

Quote:It takes a bit to fully sap them. Considering Electrics low control abilities, I don't consider it OP in the least.Congrats, but... A level 13 completely sapping 18 mobs, solo, doesn't sound like a nerf-bat invitation to anyone? Really?
And I agree with previous posters, Open with static, then follow with Chains and Fences. After a couple applications of Fences and Conductive Aura, they are sapped. -

Quote:I would agree with both of those as well, FM/SD and SS/SD are top notch for this sort of thing. You do not want Dark Melee to work in tandem with a Fire/Kin.
You want AoE damage, and Dark is without a doubt the absolute worst at dealing AoE damage in any situation where you have an aggro making machine like a Fire/Kin.
For a Fire/Kin partner my personal recommendations would be FM/SD or SS/SD.
Both have great AoE, great threat generation, high ST damage + a kin to provide you with endless endurance and a ridiculous amount of +Damage.
For patron, you want Soul or Mu - either will work with either primary, but for SS I prefer Soul for Gloom to shore up the weak ST chain that SS has on it's own.
There are other options, these would be my first choices. -
Quote:He asked for the best, and in my opinion, Dark is the best so long as you know what you're doing, or learn that fast. All you're doing is refusing to believe that people play Dark Melee by plugging your ears and going "NO NO NO YOU'RE WRONG I AM RIGHT LALALALALA." I've put out more damage and held more aggro with my Dark/Dark than any other brute I've played. That's my opinion. OPINION. I'm not stating it as fact. All you're doing now is trying to pin me as a fool and make yourself look like a king. All you've succeeded in doing is looking like the label you place on anyone who disagrees with your oh-so-high-and-mighty opinion: a troll.
Wow. I rarely come across a post so full of vitriol and hubris. Welcome to ignore. -
Quote:The Fire/Kin is a corrupter, not a Controller.Both of you ignore one thing - The Fire/Kin!
I don't care what Brute you take if the fire/kin keeps opening with a group immob he is going to keep dying.
If you want to get aggro take taunt - its a good control power and since it drops range it can keep those controllers out of the line of fire. -
Quote:If you totally ignore Shadow Maul, sure. The Fire melee/Dark melee argument: Sure, Fire melee does more damage, but dark melee has less CAST TIME meaning firing off more attacks in the same ammount of time.
Here ya go:

I'm going out drinking. Enjoy. -
Quote:I like how you keep ignoring my arguments.I'll admit that Dark isn't great for AoE aggro unless you're a wizard with Shadow Maul, but isn't that what taunt auras from secondary sets are for? Didn't I mention that already? If you have a good secondary taunt aura, anything else is just bonus if you do your job as a brute right. Factor in APP/PPP's and you get even more AoE aggro options. Did you forget that?
Specifically the fact that Dark does less damage in single target, and SIGNIFICANTLY less in AoE.
What is the POINT of going Dark? Why should the OP bother? He asked for the absolute best of the best, and you are not giving him that. As far as I can tell, you are just trying to defend your favorite set and troll, rather then actually answer the OP's question.
As for the aggro thing, APP's are laughable as an option. Yeah, let's wait 41 levels before we get a real AoE. Fantastic. As for secondaries, it's going to vary. Sets like SR don't get an aggro aura till 20, Inv not till 26. Pairing those sets up with a primary that has no AoE is just not a smart idea. -
Quote:The problem is aggro. Taunt is a very valid solution. Your posts don't hold water, Candlestick, but thanks for demonstrating my earlier point to another poster than you're naming Dark Melee as a crap set. Bad troll is bad.
And your not even trying to counter my arguments. I AM naming Dark Melee as a crap set when paired with a Fire/Kin corrupter, and when the OP specifically asks for the most powerful blend. Dark is so far away from being optimal in that combination I don't know how you even manage to delude yourself into believing it is.
All the other sets recommended don't require taunt to hold aggro. They have actual real AoE's. If you want to hold Aggro with Dark, you waste a power on taunt.
Dark Melee has good single target damage, but *thats it*. And it's not even the best Single-Target. Fire has the best. And Fire actually has an AoE.
You play Dark for all the little extras it brings, extras that are rendered redundant by a Fire/Kin. Oh wait, I already said this exact post. But then you ignored everything I said. Who's trollin who now? -

Follow up
This specifically seems to happen most often on underground ghoul missions. And it's always caused by Chain Fences stacking with other players Chain Fences.
