After a day or 2 it still hasn't gone on the list. What should I do?
-
-
True. I also have more experience with secondaries. Anyways, how do I get this on the guide list of blaster guides?
-
Woooo, nukes rock. You might also want to talk about how well-slotted nukes (with at least 3 damage) and Aim/Build Up, certain nukes can do beyond extreme damage. Talk about how you can run into a group and really destroy minions and some leutenants with one blast!
-
Well, when I wrote this guide, I tried to apply synergy to using JUST Fire Blast power sets with pool powers. After I finish with the epic section, I may touch upon secondaries in the end.
-
Here's a link to the first draft of my Fire Blast guide...i hope this is where its supposed to go...

I have been looking to create a guide to Fire Blast Blasters, and never had time to write a big fancy guide. So I decided to write a summarized guide!
First of all, here is a quick run-through of the powers.
Flares- Available level 1. I have seen many people say not to take this due to the long animation and low damage. I personally find it good as a filler while other attacks recharge, but it's worth taking in the late 20s or 30s. Recommended slotting- 2 accuracy, 3 damage, 1 recharge.
Fire Blast- Available level 1. A great single target power. Take this at level 1. Good range, quick animation, good damage. Great for your attack chain. Recommended slotting- 2 accuracy, 3 damage, 1 recharge
Fire Ball- Available level 2. One of the best powers of the set. A single target AoE attack. I highly recommend this, as it is great for any multi-enemy group. Recommended slotting- 2 accuracy, 3 damage, 1 recharge or 1 endurance reduction
Rain of Fire- Available level 6. I highly, highly recommend skipping this. I find this a very hard power to use. You will find use in it maybe every 15 missions you do. Low damage, scatters enemies. Can be fixed with Ice Patch, Controller's AoE immobilize, and a few other powers. I can't even tell you what it's worth slotting.
Fire Breath- Available level 8. Another great power. A cone of fire damage. Another great power, basically the same usefulness as Fire Ball. Recommended slotting- 2 accuracy, 3 damage, 1 recharge or 1 endurance reduction
Aim- Available level 12. Another good power. I didn't take it until my 20s in a respec, and I really love it. 3 seconds of added damage and even more accuracy. 80% accuracy bonus, 50% damage? Something similar to that. Recommended slotting- 2-3 ToHit, 2-3 recharge
Blaze- Available level 18. Basically the best power of the set. TAKE THIS POWER!! The only problem I can find is the range, which can be enhanced. Use this power to deal massive damage. Recommended slotting- 2 accuracy, 2-3 damage, 1 recharge, 1 range if used 2 damage
Blazing Bolt- Available level 26. This is a very long range sniper attack. It deals awesome damage and is great for pulling far away enemies. Recommended slotting- 2 accuracy, 2 damage, 1 range
Inferno- Available level 32. The power you've been waiting for- your nuke. Definately take this. You explorde in fire, and lose all of your endurance, although you do massive damage to all enemies around you. Also does DoT damage afterward, I believe 5 ticks. Recommended slotting- 1 accuracy(if you use Aim before nuke), 3 damage, 2 recharge
Please remember that all perecentages and Inferno DoT ticks are ESTIMATES. I believe they are correct, but I am not completely sure. I will edit when I find the exact numbers.
My favorite attack chain of *just fire blast powers* is-
Aim -> Fire Breath -> Fire Ball -> Blaze -> Fire Blast -> Flares
Pool Powers-
Fitness- Definately take this. You're going to get good use of Health and Stamina
Flight- A good option for a travel power
Speed- Great to get for Hasten, I always leave it on auto. Also an option for travel if you take super speed
Leaping- My preference for travel. Compat Jumping for defence, Super Jump for traveling, and Scrobatics for resistance to Knockback and Hold
Any other pool powers depend on personal preference.
Epic Power Sets-
Unfortunately, I do not currently have much detail. I am still working on this section. -
Although i've completely ignored that I was going to write a guide, I came back to post that I did grab some new powers in a recent respec and do enjoy it. I actually changed the one I posted just a little.
But anyway, I must say Shiver is an awesome power. But is there any way to make it effect more enemies? Maybe add range or accuracy if possible?
Also, I got the ice hold powers...freezing touch I think it's called. love that power too, always nice to have holds. But now I have two...Char AND Freezing Touch. -
Not a bad guide. I personally find that on my Fire/Ice blaster, I can nuke a large group and survive without buffs or even teammates if other survive. I usually have spare endurance inspirations. If not, I rely on my Stamina to regain endurance from my Inferno, then use my holds on the enemies that are doing too much damage. Just a suggestion, add in info about different nukes to the guide, such as the names of the nukes, secondary effects, and what set they are in.

Join Liberty!
You should join the Liberty server and join the totally awesome Super Group The World Liberty Brigade and the totally awesome channel LB.
Lol, you don't have to join them. But LB is pretty good...World Liberty Brigade is just my Super Group. I recommend looking at the different forums for each server at the bottom of the main index. Good luck! -
Wow...you people take PvP too seriously. If someone sees that a badger has a PvP badge, does that matter for anything at all? No. If someone looks and the badger has every badge in the game, does that mean anything? Yes. It means this person is dedicated to getting that amount of badges up. I have found that, truly, almost no PvPers care about badges or care about letting the opponent (heroes/villains)get badges. All you're truly doing while PvPing is attempting to beat the snot out of some cheap enemy that won't stop running away while working on a badge.

I just added a side note to the end of the guide. You may be sent to one or two missions in the Hollows with Kyle Peck, a Steel Canyon contact. At level 14, this is the only time i've needed to go to the Hollows.
-
Yeah, you can do that if you want. I don't like to though because then Wincott extends the size of your contact list, which is big enough already. Plus, why go all the way to the Hollows with no travel for a little bit of xp?
-
I've known aboutt his method for a while, and I thought it was more well known than it really is. That is why I decided to post a guide on how to make it so you can completely skip the Hollows missions(annoying....) and still be able to go through contacts!
First, go to Galaxy City of Atlas Park when you first make your character. When you can't get any more missions from your first contact, go to Kings Row. Do 3 police band missions, solo or on a team. Then do the Atlas Park Safeguard mission you get from your detective contact. Fail or beat it (recommend beating it for the temporary travel power).
Go back to the detective contact. He will introduce you to a new contact. Do some missions from this contact, and you'll go to another one. After one contact in KR you will go to Steel Canyon. Then Skyway City, where you will be even with the people who went through the annoying Hollows missions!
A I found a side note today... as you go through contacts, you may get missions that still send you into the Hollows. But don't worry, I still have not found this happening until at least level 14. I got a Vahzilok mission that sent me to the Hollows today from Kyle Peck. Luckily the mission was right by the Atlas entrance. So don't freak out when you get sent to the Hollows, it's only one or two missions. -
I hate bringing things off topic, but I have to make a quick note... 80EightyEight, yes you are entitled to your opinion. But your just straight up rude. Would you like it if someone stalked you around the forums saying everything YOU say is stupid, exploited, and everything else you say? Didn't think so.
Back on topic, I love the idea of farming rep. It isn't meant to be, but for people who are just straight up annoyed with PvP, such as me, it is great so you can fill up your badge collection. It really isn't complicated, and it just makes life easier. Great tips Bill, I hope I can farm with you sometime =) -
I actually personally never took shiver. I just finished up a build im quite satisfied with, and ill post it here for anyone looking for some aid-

I whipped it up a bit fast, but Im quite happy with the result. I love perma-hasten and stamina, so I took them and slotted up fast. Not much special to point out. I also want to say that once I do work on learning about some new powers, Im gonna work on a guide myself. Might be a bit though, im having fun with my peace bringer. He just hit 9 =P. But I will probably whip up a nice guide pretty soon. -
Knockback can be a bit of a pain with melee users. On my stone tanker, I got extremely annoyed having rooted on, especially when playing with an energy blaster. Now I seem to be getting against energy blasters more and more, and now Im for it after seeing some of the powers. It does seem to be very controvercial. The KB is quite annoying, but its nice to have. Well, im confusing myself. Bye =P

Not a bad guide. My Robot/FF MM is at 43, and due to now being a main hero, won't get much hiigher anytime soon. But I must say it is quite a good build. There are, like in every build, some bad powers, but if you get the right powers, you will be able to solo and team quite well. Due to CoV lag, I solo on my robot/FF when im bored, and do quite well buffing my robots. My main problem is endurance, but stamina and any blue inspirations I get make me and my team quite a machine. Pun intended.

I have a quesion about Perma-rage. If I have it perma, will i still be hit by the ASO? or will the stacked rages stop that?
-
Not a bad guide. I like how you described the attack chain of Aim->BU->Fire Breath->Fire Ball instead of Fire Ball then Fire Breath, like I do. I've had my Fire/Ice blaster for a year now and NEVER noticed that. I'll have to try that out. I must say that I do regret getting ice because the only power I like in it are chilblain, ice sword, and ice patch. I got Chilling Embrace and Frozen Aura and I must say I am disappointed. I use Frozen Aura once in a while and never ever toggle on Chilling Mebrace, since it just seems to me this build is better for range than worrying about having a melee range debuff on. My only problem with Frozen Aura is that as soon as you attack the enemy breaks out of the hold. I think you mentioned that, but if not, you shoulld.
But anyway, nice job on this guide =) -
Im sorry if this was posted, since I can't even read through this thread much becuase im half asleep, but heres a good thing to put under thoughts for Stone Skin. What I recommend doing is while training up, don't get Stone Skin but instead get Rock Armor. Then when you get Granite at 32, respec out of Rock Armor into Stone Skin. I also advise not getting Mud Pots until this respec, but instead get taunt. Then respec out of taunt into Mud Pots at 32.

i did that one on my MM. why?
oh, now someone posts saying why. I knew that the history was in the game somewhere. I was going to recreate it in different terms for entertainment. Isnt that what the RP forum is about? entertainment? -
hmmm..this looks like some training for me. the small town newspapers, every writer starts there. I'll get on it ASAP! Right after dinner maybe. Never write on an empty stomach.
-
hmmmm...i believe i have. Is that the CoV one where you go back to mercy at like lvl 18?

My hero Camo Fire recently heard a story while listening to some Arachnos on an under cover mission. The mission was easily completed, as Camo Fire's firey power overcomes Arachnos. But the story he heard was very interesting and he would like to share it with you. He is currently working on writing it out so he will not draw blanks and be able tot ell the story at once. It is about how Ghost Widow became who she is.
Not RP...I am currently working on this story. It should be done in a few days. i've been busy with school work, but the story is nearly complete. I'll just say that Ghost Widow, before she died and turned into a ghost, had a super hero husband and a super hero daughter.
