A good example are the wing costume pieces. Some of them used to sell for 7+ million!! Now you can get them for like 15-20k! IF THAT MUCH!! Insect wings I've seen as low at 500. [shrugs]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I sold a pair of Tech Wings within a couple weeks after the release of i9 for 30 mil, and a pacing of the turtle recipe going for about 1-2k now for around 20 mil. But that's because it was when inventions first came out. But you can see how far the prices have dropped.
  4. Thanks Ex. And thanks for the flashy title =)

For the three overlapping ATs, these are contenders for the least common powerset combo:
    Elec/Fire brute, 0.078%, avg lvl 14
    Spines/Invuln scrapper, 0.17%, avg lvl 28
    MA/Energy stalker, 0.091%, avg lvl 17
These were identified from the powersets that were unique to the AT.

Spines/Invul!!! Wow, didn't see that one coming

I have a level 17 spine/invul and i love it, not to mention ive seen quite a few

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was a bit surprised at that too. My cousin has a level 50 Spines/Inv.

But great job on the lists, some interesting builds for me to try =P
  11. Im not a mod, I can't edit the front page =P

Since Ex doesn't seem to have been around lately, The_Faou told me how Milk Weasel did it..just post it later on in the thread and i'll tell Ex it's on the 16th page when she gets back. The current one on the front page is somewhere else in this thread, around page 9 or 10 I believe.
  12. This is my first time posting a story to these forums. It is just the beginning, since I could go on for hours typing up a story, and there just isn't space for it here...maybe another time =P I just want to see what other think of my writing, since I am planning on starting a Journalism class next school year. I hope you like it! Bonus points to whoever knows who the first trader Marcus Cole is.

In the year 1823, the small neighborhood of Smithport untied with the nearby communities, creating what is known today as Paragon City, also known as the City of Heroes. There are many stories telling the tale of the development of Paragon City, the most popular and accepted of them describing the Stock market crash, the formation of the Freedom Phalanx, the Citizen Crime Fighting Act, the Fifth Column attack on Liberty Plaza, the Rikti Invasion, and everything in between. Sure, it all makes sense, but with the small amount of evidence out there, can any of this really, truly be proved? My name is Camo Fire, and I am here to tell you the story of my family, beginning with the life of my great great grandfather, Ernest Jacobson.

Ernest Jacobson was a normal citizen, living in Smithport from the time of his birth to the 1820’s. He was born in the year 1802 to a very poor family. They lived as merchants, traveling through their hometown of Smithport and the neighboring communities. In the year 1823, the group of communities heard from an overseas trader, the first of the time, that there was a force in an unknown location called the Rogue Isles that was on it’s way to take over. The townsfolk didn’t know whether or not to believe this trader, but they knew it was too great of a risk not to. They decided to get together and form Paragon City.

Soon after the oversea trader’s warning, he was found dead in his new small cabin, with a large bite make in his neck. The next day, another overseas trader came to tell them to disband their alliance because the forces from the Rogue Isles were not coming. No one believed this trader, named Gideon, and kept their alliance together. They later found that this was a smart idea, since this trader (who seemed to swim a bit too often) was found to be a fake.

One day, while taking a walk by the water, Ernest Jacobson saw Gideon swimming alone in the ocean. He wasn’t exactly friends with this man, so he just walked by. Then he noticed an odd black sphere surfacing in the water near Gideon. When the sphere came out of the water, it opened- revealing a tall man with an odd mask and robotic arms coming out of his back. He overheard their conversation. “Hello, Lord Recluse. I’m glad to see you made it.” Gideon seemed to have an odd smirk. “It was a long journey, but I am here. Have you disbanded this alliance known as Paragon City?” Gideon’s smirk turned to a frown. “Umm..well, sir…I…”
“Don’t tell me you didn’t disband them! I should have you killed!”
“But sir, I killed that traitor Marcus Cole! But the villagers believed every word he said! They wouldn’t believe me…they thought I was trying to hurt them!”
“You are trying to hurt them! Now get back to that town and destroy that alliance! Get them against each other, get them to believe you, anything possible to stop their alliance. Our troops can’t stop them if there are so many to fight at once. Go, Mako…NOW!”
“Yes, sir. I’ll stop them right away”

Ernest was in shock. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard. He had to tell the whole town, but Gideon, or Mako as this odd man Lord Recluse calls him, was already on his way to break them up. He had to do something..but what?
  13. I just updated it with some tactics. Just 2 questions- Is my estimation of 7.5 seconds for the damage bonus right? Also, I'm having trouble finding the amount of the damage bonus. Anyone know?
  14. Meanie Blue!

But anyway...thanks for the advice. I'll update the guide when i'm done with my homework. Why am I not doing my homework now? Because.

    PW's war journal

That's an odd coincidence...my Brute got to 27 on a newspaper mission the other day =P
  16. And there it finally is. Again, sorry about the wait. I tested all the links and they worked for me, but if there is any problem with it, please let me know.
  17. Alright, thanks Faou. I don't have the fire with me at the moment, but it will be up in this thread for sure tomorrow afternoon. Sorry about the wait.
  18. Soon after Issue 11, another big update came along. This included a few minor fixes to Issue 11 and some new costumes…but the best part of this update? Blasters got a new Defiance.

“Blasters' earliest abilities come so naturally to them, that they are accessible even in states that normally prevent them from using powers, such as being Held, Slept or Stunned.”

What does that mean? If you are Sleeping, Held, or Stunned, you can still attack with *some* of your powers. Although you still can’t move normally, you can attack with your first 2 primary powers and your first seconday power. It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s a huge advantage when fighting mez-heavy enemy groups, such as Circle of Thorns or Malta. It can easily help you win a fight. This update is a very good reason to take both of your first 2 primary powers.

Another fantastic part of the new defiance is the way the damage buff works. Instead of higher damage for lower health, it’s a bit more like Brute’s Fury. Every time you attack, you get a small damage buff. The buff depends on the attack, but single target attacks give more than AoEs. These buffs are stackable if you can keep up with the recharge. This change is a good reason to slot up some recharge in your attacks if you have space, since it is quite easy to stack these buffs. Personally, on my level 50 Fire/Ice/Flame Blaster with Hasten, I can keep up about 2 Flares, 2 Fire Blast, 1-2 Blaze, and usually 1 Fire Breath or Fire Ball in a large fight. It helps my damage tremendously.

Obviously, this new Defiance changes the way that Blasters fight. With the old Defiance, Blasters had to be a bit more aggressive and try to purposely get hit for their damage buff. Now, you get your damage buff by attacking, making recharge much more critical. The buffs last for about 7.5 seconds. If you have a power that takes 2 seconds to recharge with a 1 second animation, that makes it stack 2 times with a 2 second downtime of only 1 buff, if you repeatedly use that attack. Use this to your advantage! Stack buffs! A good thing to do is use weaker powers first to get your damage going, then have a really strong blow from your strongest attack using the buffs from your less damaging attacks. This can be a good idea for right before you use a nuke, as long as you can survive the aggro for long enough.

Remember that all Primary and Secondary powers that hit enemies, whether they do damage or not, give a buff through Defiance. For example, Shiver from the Ice Manip. set and Smoke Grenade from the Devices set. Some powers that attack and do not aggro, such as Smoke Grenade, can be used tactically for a small build up-type power before a battle.

Hopefully by now I have answered any questions you may have had about the new Defiance, AKA Defiance 2.0. Get out there and get blasting!
  19. SHould I post it in the Blaster forums? I dont know how they do this. I want to make a short guide anyway before I post it.
  20. I agree, great job. And good timing, you made it in for the new Blaster Guides & FAQs =)

I'm actually planning on my own new short guide do be done today or tomorrow, so the deadline for guides to get into this update is probably tomorrow.
