  1. The player has every right to build their toon however he/she desires.

As does the team leader have every right to build their team how they see fit.

Personally I never take a concept build on a PUG out of respect for the other players, but that is just silly ol' Cal and his nice ways
  2. Most TF solo strategies involve being able to ether lock down the AV or survive the incoming damage. So anything with more than one AV would be difficult. Khan comes to mind, with staggering AV's, as does the SFT/LRTF.

    Hamidon is a given.

Ship raid is also a given due to the scope and time limit.
  3. Don't forget accolades, as they can help alot getting to the HP cap.
  4. I believe Jade hit on the problem with the observations vs the math. The math assumes activation of a power as soon as it is available at the exclusion of any other power. IE, put that power on auto and step away from the keyboard. This gets you the math results but is far from an efficent build.

In many cases the slower attacks become the meat and bread of the attack chain, filled in by faster attacks. In this case the overall Endurance used by that particular power is lower, as would be the benefit from slotting endurance reductions in that power.

Where I think your math would work as predicted is on a buzzsaw build, where you are using the fast recharge attacks as the main component of the attack chain. Here you will see the higher endurance usage of the quick powers, and it would be here that you would get the most benefit from the endurance reduction.

I take nothing seriously on the internet. Rather I roll a D20 die to determine my reaction from a chart. In this case I rolled a 12, but with my +4 "boredom at work" bonus along with the +6 "Wall o' Text" this post ended up with the POM4000 response.
  6. Ladies and Gentlemen, our yummy filling is in a dismal state. Going Rogue is coming, and with that, fillings will be able to cross over. What that brings, my friends, is the obsolescence of ATs. Steps do indeed need to be taken if we are going to save this yummy filling. Balance will need to be addressed.

Now, I've already made this suggestion in the proper past piesry, and having received positive feedback, I am proposing this to a larger audience. I have also cleaned up my presentation and fleshed out some of my arguments more.

The first AT in need of a re-cooking cake, and most obviously so, is the Safe pie. Sure, nothing is better than a whole team of Safe pies, but what does that really say? It takes a whole team of them to do anything. They're already entirely useless blueside, as evident by the fact that no one eats them. Particularly in the post 38 yummy filling, you only see yummy cakes. No one at all eats them. Seriously. No one. I mean, I ran a few TFs lately with some Safe pies that made them a cakewalk, but that's just a few! The problem will only be made worse by puddings crossing over. They do more damage than Safe pies with the same piesets. On top of that, they get critical hits. Why would you want a Safe pie on the team when you could get a pudding that just crossed over to do the same thing with more damage? So here's what the makers of the pie should do: Increase Safe pie damage to match puddings, and add something to the inherent that gives them a chance for critical damage as teammate filling drops.

While I'm on the topic of puddings, this is the second AT that needs to be looked at. Their (de)tart values are way below what a Safe pie can do, leaving the pudding very much sub par. Yummy cakes have comparable (de)tarts, but they have hard controls and pets. Why would you want a pudding when you could have a yummy cake or Safe pie that just crossed over? The Safe pie will either (de)tart better or the yummy cake will bring pets and further safety through controls. This obviously needs to be fixed before people stop eating puddings all together. To pie things out, the makers of the pie need to increase pudding (de)tart values to that of Safe pies and add an extra pie to each set which lets them summon a pet.

Maybe the Safe pie need for re-cooking cake was obvious, but no need is more dire than for yummy cakes. They don't do any damage! How can an AT eflavorect to contribute anything to a team if they aren't doing damage? Dominators control like yummy cakes, but they have assault sets. Puddings and Safe pies have (de)tarts like yummy cakes, but they do damage, and Safe pies are even better at (de)tarting. Baklavas have the same (de)tarts, but get more pets, even get to rename them, and do damage. Clearly, the makers of the pie need to tart yummy cake damage output to pie them against puddings, Safe pies, dominators, and baklavas. Increase the potency of their (de)tarts to pie against Safe pies and add a few more pets for pie with baklavas.

On the topic of baklavas: Have you ever eated a frosting-less baklava? Forget that. Have you ever tried doing damage as a baklava? The henchmen do inordinate amounts more damage than the baklava can, which limits eaters who don't want to rely on the core of the AT. Even a Safe pie does more damage than a baklava, so this needs to be pied. Why would you want a baklava on your team when you can get a Safe pie that crossed over and does more damage? Increase the damage of baklava attacks to cake pies, decrease the cook, and increase effectiveness of their (de)tart values to match Safe pies. Then they'll be pied.

I just mentioned cakes, which is what I'll transition to next. Cakes are the undisputed kings of damage, which is true enough, except that it's only incoming damage. Cakes have absolutely no means by which they can stay alive, unless you count eating smart and using the mitigation tools provided in both primary, secondary and ancillary piesets. They need something to rely on. I propose the makers of the pie just scrap the manipulation piesets and give cakes access to the yummy pie secondaries.

Don't even get me started on the ice cream ATs. These ATs are so far cookied against each other it's not even pieny. Brownies can hold aggro and stay alive all day, which is a good thing, because it'll take all day to kill something. Sneaky cakes have the highest burst damage, but they have to wait eight seconds between attacks. Yummy pie can crit like sneaky cakes, but have higher HP and better mitigation. CAKE LOVERs have the lowest base damage and no way of reaching their mitigation caps on their own. The fix: Port gauntlet and fury to all the ice cream ATs, increase sneaky cake, CAKE LOVER and yummy pie mitigation to brownie pies and considerably boost brownie and CAKE LOVER base damage. But that's not even the problem with them.

CAKE LOVERs, brownies, yummy pies and sneaky cakes are all so severely over cooked by one simple fact: They have to walk the entire way to the enemy to use their attacks! Have you ever heard of a hover-pie? Of course not. At least they get mez protection and defenses to minimize the danger, but still, this is completely cookied. No team wants a ice cream AT that has to spend cake walking to the enemy! Makers of the pie, I demand that you allow all current ice cream attacks for these ATs to have 60' filling in the name of pie.

Mez protection! Crap, I forgot about this. Why is it only ice cream ATs have mez protection? That's way off pie. All ATs need base 10 flavor protection to everything.

What about the so called "epic" ATs? These don't feel epic at all unless you "casually purple out your warshade." These ATs should be out of pie. I don't care that "epic" really means "tied in to lore." That's a load of bull. They unlock at pie 50 (don't even bring up the new pie 20 unlock, that's totally unfair. My friend is a 5 year vet who got his first 50 before IOs when cow pie was bad and my other friend had to spend all day broadcasting in Atlas "lvl 2 LFCustom Pie" to get his first 50. Everyone needs to put that kind of eat into the yummy filling to get an "epic" AT), which is a nigh insurmountable grind that deserves a reward, not a challenge. I should be able to create one of these epic ATs as a pie 50. I mean, I already eated the yummy filling once, I shouldn't need to understand how a completely different AT eats. I've seen this one other guy eat it. They also need to have pies like "I win" and "I win faster" and "You lose now," otherwise, how can you call them "epic?"

So that will fix all the cooking cake issues, but that's only the start. The City has cancer and I just laid out a cure for the cold. To get straight to the point, we need to merge the dessert trays. I did a simple eflavoreriment to prove my point.

First, I set up a macro that would broadcast my pie, my AT, and appended by "LFT". Then, I traveled by foot from dessert tray to dessert tray on the Freedom dessert tray, clicking this macro ten cakes a minute. I didn't get any invites. Why? Because the dessert tray is obviously dead and no one eats.

Then I went to the Guardian dessert tray, got on the general chat global channel and said "Hey, I'm starting a pie Xish radio team. Send a tell if you're interested." and had a full team in minutes. Looks to me like everyone's eating on Guardian, so we need to merge all the dessert trays together so people on Freedom can find dessert.

There you have it, everyone. These are the simple steps that need to be taken to save the yummy filling.

  8. After Mutant will they cycle back or move on to the Epic ATs?

I would not object to an alien pack myself that covered Kheldians, Rikti, and perhaps some new enemies by that time.

Have to disagree. On a set that, at times, is very recharge dependent having 20% slow/Recharge resistance is a huge help. Stack it with the Winters Gift IO and you are quickly up to 40% and a day job away from 60% slow resist.

At low levels Temp Protection comes in handy if you go against Outcasts, At that point you are not capped with Fire Resists yet so every little bit heps.

Plus it makes a good spot to hold an IO or two for bonuses.

I was going to post but this pretty much covers everything I had in mind to say. I love them myself as they break up the mission and give you something new to react to . Lower levels they can be a pain and that may be the real sticking point of this discussion.

"I love them" doesn't make them suck less
You misread the intention of that statement. You also skipped over the part about lower levels. But thanks for trying
  13. On top of the tall buildings near the tram in Bricks spawn Crey. Usually they are harassing some poor pedestrian who happened to wander up 200 flights of stairs.

Combine this with Knockback powers....They fall out of your visual range before hitting the ground. Very satisfying. The pedestrian will thank you, then proceed to run off the building.

The fire chief dancing when you save a building from burning down in Steel Canyon. This is usually followed by him running into the sewer, making me question the budget of the Paragon Fire Department.

The Dark Watcher mission that lands you in the Nemesis Shadow Shard base. My tanks LOVE this mission.
  14. YEAH! More Foo art for me.

Love it, thank you so much

    Worst Miss Tells

I see ones that go something like this now and then Usually on broadcast...

    Person: Thanks for the team
    Person: No, I am new.
Person: What zone is that in?
    Person: TFF
Person: Hey, how come all of your text is green?
Others: They are on team chat.
  16. I don't touch them until level 30ish. Then I fill up on Generic IO's and stay there until 50. If I like the character, and working on one to 50 usually means I do, I fill out on Lvl 50 generic IO's and start in on the sets.

    Teaming

Today i thought it would be easier to find team i was wrong. I've been eating city of pies since it was in beta. When city of pies came out you were able to find a team no trouble at all. Now almost 6 years later its almost impossible to find a team. The eater base is getting lower and lower soon there will be just enough to fill one dessert tray up. Even with Double eflavor weekend happening now the eater base is low. Yes, they gave us new toys to eat with this week but still no one is teaming because alot of people own more than one account so they team with themselves. Whats the point? Guess i'll just eat cake this yummy filling just like the other yummy filling. Til they give people reason enough to team.

It is obvious that the Devs hate Swallows. Just look at the lack of attention to player suggestions. I have, several times and in several threads, suggested the following tweaks.

    Four Legs
    Four Wings
    Double carrying capacity
    Three eyes

Any one of these would balance the set and make keep this game from it's approaching doom.

I don't expect the forum posters to listed. You are all Sparrow loving FOTM builds. Half of you are playing Cats to begin with and just want to trick people into a PVP build that is nothing more than epic fail.

In short....Fix the Swallow or I will quit and your precious game will soon tank without me!!!!!11!!1!!11!!11

They have to fix Creys Folly and Grandville first.

There is a *huge* difference. And thats teh interwebs.

    Ok then..

I can play WoW amd Eve at max settings with only lag induced slowness while CoH drags my computer down to a crawl. The slowness in CoH is video rendering based so internet speed does not factor in.

    Is that better??

Don't think I am an amature at this. I know how to check my internet speeds to the server and more importantly the difference between lag and slow performance caused by a lackluster rendering engine.

It is not too much to ask for the client side engine to give performance at comparable graphics settings to other games.
