Quote:Stop eating me.Clearly we have slipped away from the seriousness of this discovery...
We have traveled from the true integrity that once was the basis of this thread... We have left coherent discussion and drifted beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call... Home.
Cake over pie.
Brain cake, that is.

Just borrow from Dark Heresy, can put monofilament on blunt weapon and you just change the fluff to fit.

Quote:It may seem more often to me since I don't log in everyday, but lately have been seeing server go down every day I play. Also, the Admin message refers to it as daily maintainence.Technically it's not actually been every day, this is only the 2nd? downtime this week, it just feels like it's been every day for the last while.
Unfortunately downtime is just a fact of life, but in the scheme of things 2hrs beats the 8 and 12hr monsters we've had lately, and I'd much prefer my downtime at this time of the afternoon (my time) compared to running it into late evening/night.
Saying that I was just tampering with a cossie so was a little surprised when I got kicked (I hadn't seen the announcement), I'm hoping the save I made just before took. -

Log in and make a new toon just in time for servers to boot me. Do we really need servers to come down every single day?

Which was one of the downgrades I mentioned. I hate static level enemies that I can't adjust with the tools we have for that purpose.

Quote:What did they improve redside? All I saw were downgrades.Kudoes to the dev's and all who had a hand in the CoH's Freedom. I know the change in NCsoft's business model and overhaul on the Heroes side of things has gotten all the press, but the biggest winner, IMO, has been the "City of Villians." This most recent and dramatic tuneup has, for the first time, really put it on par with Paragon City and Praetoria. It has gone from coming across as a bit of an afterthought to a robust and dynamic equal-partner. The game play and narrative strikes me as being much more engaging. Great job!

I don't see this happening. DDO has been free for several years with forum access for all and I have never seen the sort of spam posts you fear.

Quote:Just imagine you are clicking with your foot, hard. Now that I've got a couple years under my belt (and a worrisome proclivity for Talshak's trial), it's tempting to hand-wave and mutter about how obvious this should be.
But, yeah, thinking back on things...I remember, two years ago, excited and anxious to be entering my first zone away from Atlas Park...I must have fumbled around and backed up and walked forward and clicked around in front of me for some pathetic five minutes before I thought to click on the swat officer.

I am in US and the downtime always seems to coincide with my prime play time (yes I keep odd hours.)
-
It is possible to do that? I thought it made you take a pet power at level 1.

-
I hope it's not the terribad treatment they gave redside.
-
Would it be that difficult to give higher level versions an appropriate power loadout to remain challenge at higher levels?

Quote:Which is what bothers me about Longbow. They call me a criminal when they are the invaders. This is a symptom of a larger, much more deeply-ingrained problem: In City of Heroes, evil is equated to Arachnos and good with Longbow. You're not evil or a villain, you're "with Arachnos." Naturally, we need a clash of evil vs. good, so in this game that translates to a clash between Arachnos and Longbow, hence the idea that all villains hate Longbow all the time and want nothing more than to blow up an infinite umber of Longbow bases.
Until we divorce "evil" from "Arachnos" and "good" from "Longbow," we're always going to be stuck being lumped with one, blowing up bases of the other. -
Why don't all mob types scale up to 50, then there would be no need for exemplaring.
