Only in terms of perception, not actual effectiveness of the attack. The redraw animation is taken into account when the attack is fired off, and the firing animation is shortened by the same time that the weapon draw animation takes. If the weapon is already drawn, the full animation will play.
The end result is, if the perscribed animation time for an attack is 2.3 seconds, it will take 2.3 seconds regardless of whether the weapon is drawn or not. -
Sure Zombie, that's what it means right now... but that's just phase one. Once they get the rigging right for animals, I could easily see them implementing animal combat pets, and MMs have been asking for that since the AT was first announced.
-
They've been talking about Titan Weapons, while almost nothing has been said about Staff fighting. I'd surmise that whatever the length of time that passes between Street Justice (the latest melee powerset released) and Titan Weapons will probable be around the same amount of time before we see Staff Fighting.

I'll be there, of course. Wont be taking part in the Apex, though, as the only 50s I have are on Protector

Quote:Yeah, I spent the whole week levelling up my Shield/Axe just for this event, and now I'll be starting from scratch... and loving it. I have such good things to say about the visual and audio goodness that this set is going to bring.Btw, guess what just hit the market today (& quite a coincidence)..
Street Justice
.
The zone event will give a good start in leveling to anyone with a new toon..
Now, all that's left is to fake illness so I can leave work at lunch time, to start getting ready -
Must start faking symptoms so I can leave work at lunchtime....

You can reset your power selections and slots by running special missions at lvls 24, 34, and 44 (those are minimums, not the only level when you can run them) and each will give you a Character Respec Token. You then type in /respec into the chat window and that will allow you to chose your powers/slots as if you were a level 1 character and work your way up to your current level.
There's also a second way to get respec tokens, but that involves either being subscribed to the game for a year and you'll receive one for free, or buying enough Paragon Points to purchase a Character Respec Token from the Paragon Market (currently set at 800 pts).
I guess there's also a third way to get one, as the game developers will occasionally hand one out to each character when a new Issue is released where a lot of powers are modified.
If you want to change (or completely reset) a costume, you can go to any trainer, and select the 2nd option from their list. Or, you can visit a store in the game (each zone has one now, I think) called Icon.
You cannot change the actual Primary or Secondary power selection you made at the start of the game, though. If you started off as a Shield Defense/Fire Melee tanker, you will always be a Shield Defense/Fire Melee tanker. -
I'm sure you're right about the End/Damage ratio, but all I know is, I had to put a +3 End Red SO in each Axe attack (in addition to the normal End Red for the toggles in Shield that is common to both secondaries) in order to be able to get through a 3 or 4 person group of even con minions/Lts without having my toggles drop.
That wasnt required with Fire (mainly because multiple targets were being hit with at least 2 of the standard attacks in the chain), hence my wishing for more AoE in Axe attacks.
PS Both guys are in their mid 20s, so not all attacks are available (no AoE at all for the Axe, 2 for the Fire) -
In a different vein on the same topic, I think Battle Axe should have a lot more AoE in the set, especially seeing as how its incredibly End heavy it is. Playing a Shield/Axe at low to mid levels is killing me, and makes me long for the much quicker levelling of the Shield/Fire tank I have on a different server.

Damn... my Champion tanker is so low... Good thing I have a week to work on getting him levelled up.

Depends on your definition of magic. Any technology advanced enough will seem like magic to those who arent familiar to it.
-
Hmmm... tough choice. Slog through the mid 20s, or start fresh with something completely new... It would have been a much easier choice if Street Justice was coming out
-
There are so many primary/secondary combinations, even when just talking about the Tanker AT, and the Tanker Tuesday tour gives me a chance to try out a lot of things I hadn't had a chance to try out yet.

Quote:He's not kidding. We cleared almost every map along the way. We even cleared the top of the platform where Ramiel and Romulus wait in the 3rd mission before dragging their ***** down to the computer to help the guys taking that down, and we dropped all 3 togther.TT Protector, lots of fun. Ran the all tanker ITF, those are a LOT of fun. Clear all in about an hour. they were completely pummeled. As always, lots of fun. Looking forward to the next one
And we cleared everything except the rooftops before taking Rom down in the final mission. We were incredibly effective. There were only 2 or 3 deaths along the way, and that was to our lowest level guys (the first was during the Kheld ambush near the end of the first mission and then nothing until the final fight with Romulus).
I had a blast finally getting to hanging out with an incarnate level tanker on one of these TTs. They're usually on servers where I only have TT characters (which I rarely play without it being a Tuesday evening). -
Its here... its finally here... the happiest day of the year.
Tonight's the night when the famous Tanker Tuesday makes its way to Protector. I'll finally get a chance to take part in the high level tanker fun. Looking for some ITF/BAF/Neuron action.

Any summoned mob will follow you through an elevator. This includes Clockwork that are summoned by an Assember, gears that are generated by a boss death, the Box of Gears, Legacy of Chain stoneys, Warwolves that used to be human mobs first, Rikti that come through a Communication Officer's portal, Dr Aeon clones from LRTF, etc.
I guess that includes player based ambushes (but not location based ambushes) as mentioned earlier. -
That sounds pretty unanimous. I guess I'll have a brand new Fire/Dark corrupter in AP once I21 hits (as I dont feel like getting to 20 before being able to do the blue side content).
-
Now that I21 is bringing along Fire Blast to Defenders, I'm torn between a Dark/Fire Defender or a Fire/Dark Corrupter. Can anyone give arguments why one is better than the other.
I know about Scourge, and its a nice feature, especially with Rain of Fire, but what else? -
Quote:Sailboat pretty much stole my suggestion of a Fire/Fire/Pyre tanker. Mine looks particularly kick *** now that he has access to the Roman Armour after completing the ITF.My own fiery angel is a Fire/Fire/Pyre Tanker. No shield, but a flaming sword. Healing Flames recolored white as purifying holy fire.
Also, Burn represents the ability to smite the ground so that it bursts into flames.
I also have a Fire/Fire blaster with everything coloured holy white, and a "priestly" character who's an Energy/Energy blaster with white attack powers. -
I know you're looking more for ranged attacks, but might I suggest a Dark Melee stalker? I believe they still get access to Siphon Life, like the Brute/Scrapper version.
Ranged attacks, even the Dark Blast variety dont really scream vampire to me. If only we could get the developers to allow Controllers access to Dark Miasma. A Mind/Dark controller would be pretty effective as a "traditional" vampire. -
Actually, that's not a good idea as it will draw people away from the rest of the tour. We dont usually have an issue with people showing up, but any drop in numbers would be sad. A better idea is to have a tanker on each of the servers that the tour regularly hits.
That's what I've done, despite being a single server fan myself (Protector). This way, I get to try out new combos that I might not have previously tried out, and I get to level in relative safety along my TT friends from various servers. -
Curses, I'm out of town on the 20th, so I'm going to miss the Union event. But I did just notice that on the 30th, you guys are coming to Protector (my home server), which makes me very happy.
Now, the only problem is who should I play... so many tankers, but only one gets to say hi. -
I'm torn between Fire/Ice/Arctic and Fire/Ice/Pyre. Can anyone espouse the virtues of one over the other?
The one bonus of Pyre over Actic might be that it's AoE is on a target, and doesnt require you to drop a reticle on a surface. Any others?
