  1. This is the whole reason why I suggested removing the AE buildings from Atlas & Galaxy. That way players might actually learn a little bit before the brain-dead entity that is AE farming.

    Sure I can hear arguments for "oh they will just go to other zones with AE buildings" blah blah etc. But at least anyone who is brand new to game won't be first faced with that nonsense that is the current AE.

    In hindsight I was a bit snarky myself, sorry about that.
    Tis' 8am and I've been up all night going insane trying to respec my earth/TA controller, and the unlimited options is driving me nuts. That plus I'm still trying to get used to using mids.

    Back on topic however, I see someone mentioned coralax.

    I would LOVE to be able to make a coralax toon. In that body form also! Would be a lot of fun & have good canon (or however you say that) as in could be tied to the lore of the game. :-)

    And I just learnt something new, apparently I'm not allowed to use the word official :P
    Note however, I only used the word official to make it sound like a *central* point for suggestions on this topic. I did not infer in any way that something officially is being implemented.

    I just tried to rename the header in my original post, but it won't let me... so I will edit the subject of this individual post & hopefully future posts are in reply to this one (without the word official).
  5. You apparently misunderstand the purpose of this thread.

    It is a place to suggest ideas for any future possibility of a new epic archteype.

    There are other official threads for power suggestions, base suggestions etc. I went looking for the thread for official epic archteypes and could not find one. So I went and made one.

    It's just suggestions and ideas.

    If you are going to call this 'officious' then you might as well do the same for every idea anyone else has posted on these forums. :P

    I'm sure it's broken.
    It's that bad a chance to proc, that whenever a critter see's you and realises you have it in your build, they laugh to death.
    But that laughing to death part appears to be broke.

    Seriously though, I always wondered if it was a stupid typo, that is, it might have been supposed to be a 20% chance to proc and not 2%.
  8. Put him on global ignore.

    Don't bother going into hide.
    If you hide from friends, there are real server friends that you will miss out on.

    With him on global ignore, he won't be able to harrass you directly.
    And if he is stupid enough to harrass you on global chat, he will only end up getting reported. (The only players I ever report for global chat for abuse, are the ones doing the actual abusing, swearing, griefing and annoyances.)

    Jerks like this prey on those who respond the way they want.
    By ignoring him, eventually he will move on & work on annoying someone else. And eventually he will get reported for harrassment.

    Not only is it a pain-in-the-bottom logging on/off my many, many alts (I won't give you the number out of embarrassment), but I don't see this anniversary as specific to my toon. I see the anniversary as a reward to myself, as a player for participating during their anniversary.

    I would send Positron a week's supply of pizza, donuts and cupcakes plus a plushy-stress-toy if he implemented this.
  10. I think *from memory* there are 22 zones for base TPs (hero side).

    Things to think of when choosing telepads
    Is the base just you & your alts?
    What levels will be mostly using the telepads?
    Who will be using them the most, or who do you want them to be most suitable for?
    Will the toons that mostly use the telepads ALREADY have the oroborous portal? (if so, then you could skip telepads for Atlas, PI, IP, founders falls and talos).
    Do you have the temp power "mission teleporter"?
    Do you like using the purchaseable 'wentworths teleporter power'?
    Have you already got the day-job temp power for teleporting to wents?

    Then you can be a bit more selective.

    If your toons have the oroborous power, then...
    I would build the following:

    Handy &amp; faster access to these hard-to-get-to zones<ul type="square">[*]Boomtown[*]Creys Folly[*]Dark Astoria[*]Eden[*]Faultline[*]Hollows[*]Perez Park[*]Rikti Warzone[*]Striga[*]Terra Volta[/list]And other zones that aren't attached to oro<ul type="square">[*]Brickstown[*]Croatoa[*]Galaxy[*]Kings Row[*]Skyway[*]Steel Canyon[/list]
    At the end of the day, think of the places you go to the most frequently, of those places, which would you actually prefer to use your base to get to? (as in, will speed up how fast you get to that zone in comparison to not using the base).

    Currently all the text in my chat box shows up the same colour as its category (eg team shows all text including players name as green). I'd love to know how to colour the player names.

    What emote is that? Is it in the science pack?

    Also, HOW do you get the player stat box thingy to show up? That is, the box you have at the top of your screen shot, showing your current hitpoints etc. Is there a way to customise what shows up in that box also?

  13. icy assault (secondary) on dominators.

    I understand *why* it has less damage (as it does slows).
    But that does sweet-F.A. to benefit my dom, when everything is already held/confused/mezzed to begin with, the extra slow has no benefit to me whatsoever.

    I've only picked Ice assault for my "concept" themed dominator.

    If I were looking for a build for a kick-[censored] dom damage wise, ice is the last assault set I'd ever pick.

    Then there's Energy Aura.
    The sheer lack of players using it makes the set display how bad it is.
    In the years I have been playing, I have seen maybe 3 players tops with EA. (all brutes).

    Gravity control.
    Propel is such a long, long, long animation.
    Wormhole is incredibly messy (takes a lot of experience to get it to work right, even then it can go wrong).
    Singy can be a PITA with all the KB it does. *boing boing boing* repel-o-matic-pet* Although it is a situational thing.

    Forcefield.
    It's not that it underperforms, it is that it has powers that piss off the team.
    The bubble shields are great.
    But there are a heap of other powers in that set, which tend to piss off 90% of the team members.
    Eg - forcebolt, detention field, repulsion field, repulsion bomb, and force bubble.

    Whilst all the KB-protect-my-team-mates-bubbles are nice, its rather overkill with having 3 of them. I've only ever found force bubbles/repulsion etc enjoyable on a ranged mastermind on team. Hero side I rarely find it useful at all.

    Everytime I see Diabolique, she disgustlingly reminds me how awesome her bubble set is compared to my sad bubble defenders set. Cow.

    Electric blast.
    I'm not sure whether its the actual numbers damage wise, the animation, or the sound (or combo of all 3), but this set just makes me feel weak (in comparison to my other blasters).

    Every time I use lighting bolt, it sounds like there is an angry mosquito dieing. *fizzle*.

    Maybe if you locked all the AE buildings during this event, you would actually get players involved in fighting the rikti.
    I can't see it happening otherwise (unless you somehow make the invasion also spawn inside the AE building and inside the AE missions). I quite like that idea

    About a month ago I was in PI when the zone got invaded. There was 3 of us total in portal corp fighting zombies, and we were noting how sad that was.

    That jerk exploited my poor ol empath in horrible ways on a couple of STF's. While we're at it, lets toss his bane spiders into the pen containing the Knives of Artemis boss. She will give them a whippin'!

    Oil slick + fire

    Oil slick is currently bugged within the AE.

    I went into an AE mission on my earth/TA controller, and could not target it, as it was showing as friendly. I have sent a ticket to support about this issue. But I suggest anyone else who experiences it do the same.

    As Luminara mentioned "Destructible objects in MA missions are conning friendly until aggroed. It's an MA bug, not an OSA bug. "
  18. I encountered this problem in the mission architect also.
    My poor little earth/TA controller was so sad when she couldn't light her fire. So sad that she did send an in game ticket to support.

    Are the devs aware of this issue yet? I don't want to bug Castle with an email about it if he already knows of this issue.
    Although I am tempted to send him a message saying "Comeon baby light my fire...." tee hee.

This AT could develop starting off at level 1 as a mercenary, level 20 into a Blade of Artemis, and level 40 into the Hand of Artemis.[*]I always hate fighting this faction, they are a difficult challenge and have some awesome powers. I also love their costumes (my favourite halloween temp costume power!). I want this costume GIMME! I do foresee a challenge as they are an all-female faction, anyone who is hung up on canon would argue this. But then, they went and made male widows available, so why not male KoA? This would also be the chance for villains to get a broad-sword set.[*] Screenies &amp; details: Knives of Artemis [/list]

    Paragon Police Unit<ul type="square">[*]HEAT[*]Paragon police department.[*]Same powers as the PPD, with balancing. Will probably need some additional powers added to the sets. This has the potential to be a really diverse group &amp; a lot of fun. This is 6 options in the 1 archetypes life. Basically you can pick from 2 options when you create the character, again from 2 options at level 20, and again at level 40. [*]Examples. (Basic info of the PPD )
    Level1 choose from:
    Start Choice 1 - PPD Cop
    Start Choice 2 - PPD undercover cop
    Level 20 choose from:
    1st Promotion - PPD Ghost
    1st Promotion - SWAT Equalizer
    Level 40 choose from:
    Senior Promotion - SWAT Grenadier
    Senior Promotion - PPD Hardsuit [*]Who doesn't want to run around wearing their very own real PPD hardsuit, with the real powers to boot? Its pretty and shiny. Also, I would have a lot of fun starting as a rookie cop, mixing up powers as I get promoted, and the ability of having dual builds means I can have a lot of fun.[/list]

  21. Hi. I have an idea regarding new VEATs &amp; HEATs and thought I would start a thread for it.

    The Official suggestion thread for new VEAT / HEAT.

    * VEAT is defined as Villain Epic Archetype (eg soldiers of arachnos); HEAT means Hero Epic Archetype (eg peace bringers).


    Some basic structure to follow:<ul type="square">[*]Name of the archetype group[*]Is it a VEAT (villain side) or HEAT (hero side)?[*]Give example of faction if it exists in game as an enemy (eg Carnies)[*]If something that doesn't exist, a short description of what it is. Try to limit it to something using the current humanoid body types available (in the costume editor)[*]some short examples of their powers[*]why your suggestion appeals to you[*]feel free to link in example pictures.[/list]
    OR if you aren't making a suggestion, you can always post for/against the suggestion making sure you give some constructive feedback as to your point.

    I'm not going to argue badges - some of them are ridculously hard and others stupidly easy, so all logic is out the window for me on that one, including accolades. The one that requires all those *shudder* illusionist pets is the first one I'd slap on the review list.

    Why would you run an all tank TF versus a massive bunch of witches where the majority of them have HURRICANE??
    Hurricane does a nasty to-hit/accuracy debuff.
    Melee toons always suffer trying to land a punch on a critter using hurricane.
    And you brought a completely all-melee team?

    Not to mention the fact you didn't bring anything to stop them flying off, control, debuff, buff, or do ranged damage for that matter?

    I could see the valid point for doing an all-AT team to do the TF. I like such super teams. But knowing that they have hurricane I would never take an all-melee team for this particular TF.

    Let me get this straight...
    You are asking for a TF to be redesigned, because you HAVE to defeat the AV in it, as the content was intended?

    So you want the accolade by completely skipping/failing this mission? (the way it was done during the express-katie-exploit)

    I had never seen the Mary McCromber mission exploited with the 'fail mission' exploit until the introduction of the recipe/invention system. PRIOR to that, every time I did that TF, the team always defeated Mary 10 times.

    Are you wanting an accolade nice-and-easy by not having to do this particular mission at all, and completing the remainder of the TF in minimal time? (As the HARDEST and only challenging mission just so happens to be the one you are suggesting to be 'changed').

    Either you have posted this to start a flame war, or, I have completely misunderstood your objective.

    Your request (as I have interpreted it) makes you sound like you want something for relatively nothing.
  25. Another animation bug, but this one has been around for several issues now.

    Inanimate objects are alive!
    That is - objects that you are to destroy as part of a mission objective will turn around on the spot.

    Example is the villain side cape mission, to destroy the hero statues. As soon as you get into aggro range, the statue will spin around on the spot, as if it is looking at me. This was freaky the first time I saw it. My team mates lol'd at this also.

    I have also seen this bug on one of the missions in the hollows, to destroy a bunch of crates in one of the troll missions. The crates spin around on the spot, like they just noticed me.

    I have only seen this when the object is to be destroyed as part of the mission objective, in regular game content (outside of AE).
