I like this idea a lot.
I really want a clock that tells me what time it is in the USA. Because honestly I have no idea (I am on the other side of the planet).
Trying to figure out US time is a pain in the *** for me, and usually I give up and just ask other players "what time is it there now?".
I'd really like a simple /slash command in game, which could toggle on to show the time (in small text like the FPS) somewhere in the corner of the screen.
That way, when my friends have told me to meet them at 2pm US time, to continue a TF or be part of a new one, or a hami raid, or the ship raid, or the winter event, or badge hunt, etc; then I'd have a clue what time it is and this, I would love.
*edit* fyi, currently I use an addon in firefox that tells me the time in the USA. However that requires me alt-tabbing out of game and waiting for my browser to open and then close it again (not a big deal but its annoying for me, seeings I am not using the browser for ANYTHING else other than checking time.) I do not browse whilst playing, cos you know, I'm busy playing & helping my team (and not leeching/afk).
I know the game already keeps the time, because you can run up and click npc's and sometimes they will say what time it is. However a clock would be a lot easier and simpler than that

By the way, congratulations, on spending 6 billion influence, on making a farming build that you proclaim is only useful in one specific mission. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
PS: you forgot to mention two very important features of a good build, during your grandiose screaming proclamation of self-awesomeness.

I have never considered the boosters as *content*. They aren't essential. They are like a skin addon.
To me, there is no content in those.
They are costume pieces, emotes, a unique temp power.
So I don't expect anything more than that, and so far, I have found them all great value for money and have bought most of them (except MA).
The argument on the game needing new content on the other hand, I agree with, but I don't feel it belongs in this thread (as this thread was about the booster pack and not new game content (e.g. missions etc).
However, I do wish there was new content, more variations based on your origin, new exciting map types, more variety in ambushes, mobs that are more unpredictable (and not standing in little cluster-clucks like tightly packed mobs of sheep waiting to be slaughtered). You know, more challenges, and maps that I don't know the layout of. That sort of stuff. But that, belongs in another thread, and I'm sure its been discussed heaps before. Not that mentioning it again is a bad thing, this is one dead horse that I believe needs a good beating. -

Ok. So today I got a last-minute urge to go and stick some sort of christmas decoration in my base. I decided to try to make a xmas tree.
After wasting 2 hours stacking 400 shoji wall lamps, for the purpose of floating another 50 or so whiteboards, in order to then float some baubels on the tree (round lights), I then discovered that the whiteboards wouldn't let me stick anything on them.
Several dc's and another hour deleting the lamps later... I then found some great info here in the forums. That is, stack the floor tile, on top of the accent lamp, and use the Cubicle for stacking wall items. This worked wonderfully, this last method took me less than 30 mins to do.
Anyhow, after much lag and effort, I produced a humble little tree for my base. I wanted to put presents under it, but couldn't find any cube shapes small or suitable enough for it. So I resorted to placing a bunch of sacks in front of the tree (sacks with presents in them!). Heh.
Anyhow, I thought "HEY! You should post this and challenge other base builders to see what wondrous Christmas trees they could create".
I always love the variety of stuff that the base builders creates.
So here is the challenge!
See if you can make a christmas tree in your base, and post some pics of the end result. Or any other christmas decorations you can come up with.

Does this contest follow by the same rules as another CoH competition (Dr Aeon's architect challenge)? i.e. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?p=2396732

FYI - the Doc Aeon challenge doesn't have any real world prizes, just virtual in-game prizes including a gold title.
(d) you must be a resident of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths), Canada (excluding Quebec) (Canadian residents will be required to answer an additional mathematical question in order to claim their prizes), or the European Union.
I am assuming that this costume contest falls under the same rules.
I'd like to clarify this before I go any further (as I am an Aussie).

Knives of Artemis. But not just regular mobs.
I'm talking about those specific knives of artemis, who hate your guts so much, they chase you around the map in "Perma-Ambush-Mode".
I once had around 10 or so of the evil wenches chasing my scrapper all over that cemetery map. I ended up in a horrid situation where the caltrops were stacked so thick, that I lost count of how many caltrop icons were on screen, and I could barely move, and was actually dieing & had to pop a truckload of green inspires.
The only thing I hate more than the ambushing knives of artemis, is, the knives of artemis boss (i think the name is Hand of Artemis).
This boss has the nastiest and epicly longest stun in game. *shudders*. -

I was just doing the Escalation arc solo, with my difficulty set for 6 players (which is how I usually roll with my illusion controller). I turn a corner and there's a huge amount of enemies, but as usual I shrug and drop Phantom Army in there. I jump in the middle of the action... and promptly get stunned. No break frees. Oops.
So I'm trying to get away from the heat of the battle while my HP drops bit by bit, and I leave my stunned state a few seconds before the first Decoy from Phantom Army starts to fade with. With a ton of enemies still around, I run like heck, heading for the elevator but stopping before going down.
Hitting a few inspirations to get back to almost full health, I wait for the inevitable huge ambush to come, and... my Phantasm appears, followed by one guy. Uh, that's odd. I beat him up and go back to the battle location... where the Decoy Phantasm is holding about 10 enemies so they don't go after me and the real Phantasm.
I just had to giggle at that. Way to go, Phantasm! He saw things get bad, casted his own Decoy, and ran like heck. I think that after four years, he's starting to get the hang of things.

You're more likely to give people a "free show" while you're at the consignment house or during combat without noticing it at all. Still though, you do have to make sure some of the "kids" aren't watching
I turned around, and copped a face full of crotch from a tall female who was caught in the standing still animation from the ninja run. Was kinda hard not to notice that

Oh what I would love for xmas...
- To be able to buy a ncsoft game time card in australia (I am serious, these are not available for sale here anymore
) - Remove the horrid lag from creeper vines/plant control
- Remove the horrid lag and awful sound from stone cages/earth control
- Poison proliferated to defenders & corrupters
- Fire blast proliferated to defenders
- Ice armor proliferated to scrappers (I yearn for a spines/ice scrapper).
- Some supergroup base love. And more base love.
- Boomtown given a makeover, some repairs, and make it a lowbie coop zone
- The option to swap out my pet jack frost (on my ice controller) for 3 small snowmen minions instead. Because they look cute.
- Body jewelry such as arm bands, bracelets, garters, etc.
- Some CoH/V plushy toys. How I long for a plushy winterlord and plushy Kraken.
- The ability to jump onto the back of my pet assault bot (mastermind) and ride about on the big bots back during missions. I've wished for that ever since I first laid eyes on it.
- An emote where I can blow lovehearts into the air
- An emote where I can pretend to flop over dead, holding a daisy on my chest
- To find doctor geist added into the mission architect
- A CoH/V tshirt range, with classic quotes. Eg: "Go, hunt, kill skulls" "I hate mad scientists" (Arachnos soldier in reference to Geist), "Galapa Ooog!" (with angry magma lords), and "Bluurble" (stampede of shivans).
- A CoH/V coffee mug.

So far I have liked all the booster packs.
But I am not sold on the Martial Arts pack...
Don't get me wrong. It does *look* like a nice pack.
And call me petty.
Because what actually bothers me is that ninja run.
At first sight it looked impressive.
However when the character stops moving, and is stuck in that stupid pose, it just looks plum retarded.
Especially when its a female character with a skirt, because the way she is standing, she is flashing her panties and crotch for the world to view.
The ninja run also looks incredibly dumb when the character is not dressed up like a ninja. To give you an example, earlier today, I teamed with someone, and he was a huge, fat, male, bright yellow, wearing tech armor, around 7ft tall, with the big meaty fat feet and plump legs. And running like a ninja. It made my eyes burn.
And the elbow-pointing-forward thing looks silly, when they character is standing still.
Maybe I need to watch more anime for this to make sense to me...

But honestly this is how I feel about it. -
Whilst I'm not very good at pvp, I know there's a couple of mm types that can be nasty to fight against in pvp.
Secondaries that is. Storm, and, poison.
As for primaries, I can't help much there.
Storm highlights:
- The knockback from hurricane along with -accuracy
- Snowstorm slows stuff real nice, and drops flying enemies
- Freezing rain is a nasty defense debuff
- Lightning storm kicks ***.
Poison on the other hand, as a mm, you can solo elite bosses and some AVs thanks to the awesome debuffs it does. In pvp, I am assuming this would help just as well vs some players.
Hopefully some other players will give you more info

See the thing is, I never expected to win.
And I think I understand why I can't have a go (due to some ******* lawyers that like being wet blankets).
It was more about 'having a go', the whole 'fairs fair' thing.
Anyhow, I got over it after my mini tantrum. And I get it. :P
The only reason I cared about this, is I wrote an arc about how much I hate a particular npc in game, with several corny punchlines, and I was actually hoping a dev would play it one day and chuckle.
I saw this competition as a chance to actually get it to happen.
I definitely never expect to win anything ever for it. I'm not a good writer, and I'm rather goofy, and my arc exemps players down to level 10 to begin with (and anyone who played it with me on a level 50 moaned about being level 10).
Anyhow, good luck to those competing.

So every time I am inside a rikti map, I notice those strange wall decorations and free standing objects.
They look like weird creatures with a big grin and giant eye.
First time I saw them, I thought they were going to attack me (like some sort of surprise trap). Then I found out they appear to be part of the building.
Anyhow, years later, I finally decided to take some screenies to show you what I mean.
I always laugh when I see them and wonder if there is some sort of nemesis-rikti plot behind these. Would be fun down the track if these can pop up as elite bosses and float around, zapping everyone. (Well that's just my opinion).
Anyhow enjoy my screenies, and my novice abilities playing in good ol' MS Paint.

Oh gawd... I just made the mistake of trying to play on freedom, and it is just horrible.
First of all, global lists have vanished into *poof* thin air...
I either have no global friends list at all, or when it does re-appear, I am missing two-thirds of my friends.
I also have a lot of junk in my global list, like channels that I have never been a member of, and bizarre naming conventions for those channels.
It also went and renamed my global friends list to this:
Seriously now, GlobP'Oiend'PRGlobPRiend@NrTGlobalIgnoreTab. WTF?
The second issue, is the horrible amount of chat lag.
That is, you type into chat/tell/channel, 5-10 seconds later, what you typed finally appears. I am not the only player experiencing this, those on my global that I managed to talk to, were experiencing the exact same problem.
And final issue, is server lag. Check out my yellow bar of lag-doom.
Never seen that sort of craziness before.
How do we make support aware of such issues over the weekend?

But as golden girl said earlier, I see plenty of new players join each day. I tend to PUG a lot and notice a lot of new players.
BTW when I first read the title "city is gone" I was expecting another doom thread of 'city of heroes is doooomed' etc.
Speaking of which, are "I am leaving/quitting threads" common practice?
Makes me ponder having every new player post a "I have joined the game" thread to balance out the negative ones.
