And yet more new arts...
When commissioning Cric (http://cric.deviantart.com/) I ordered my usual 1 of each character and I mentioned it might be nice to have similiar backgrounds behind the characters, as if they were all up on the same rooftop or in the same scene... Something to bring the three individual pieces in together so if I printed them up for wall art I could put them side by side and they would gel together...
Well, here's the individual pieces:
Put them all together and you get....
You ask me, Cric went above and beyond!Instead of three individual pieces I get one huge freaking battle scene!!
p.s. - Also got a certain resident colorist to work on my Tim Kelly pieces - they came out fantabulastic! I'm going to let him post those up though - He should be bragging about how good a job he did, not me bragging that I hired him -
I've actually got an idea I rather like for this topic... If I can pull it off at least half decently I may even show it
-
Very impressive indeed! I love those type of collage pieces and this one was excellently done.

Must admit, I'm missing the Firefly reference... But as much as I like the show I've never been one of those people good at remembering things line for line
As for shampoo... LoL. I actually quite like the hair in the pic, ties in well with the beastly aspect of him I think. Besides, I've personally never used conditioner in my life
As for looking up from the abs, I think you're just disappointed there's no Caemgen nipplage for you to look at!
And yeah, I think we've decided Becaro must have gotten the green from Eddy's piece... Either that or it was payback for me saying there should be drug testing in boxing in the comments section of his journal about the Pacqiano (sp?) Mayweather fight... 0,o
Joph - it is nice to have stuff coming in regularly. Though pretty soon there should be a big break as I'm laying off commissions for a while unless unbelievable opportunities arise... Partly to let stuff catch up so it's easier to keep track of, partly to spend some funds on having some stuff printed and partly to save up for some really big pieces which I want to have done but which will be pricier than normal due to having multiple characters in them on wanting them to be top quality works... 3 of those will be the scenes PresidentNelson decided he didn't have the time to do justly and one or two are ideas I have which will involve some forumites characters... More on those when I get around to actually recruiting for them

There's a time and a place for everything - That time and place is college. Have fun and good luck!

And here we have Rhardo's portrait of Caemgen... http://rhardo.deviantart.com/ - He did great pieces for Alpha and the Daybreakers so I figured I had to get Cae and Fenian portraits as well
(Fen's in the works...)
And here is Becaro's version of Caemgen from previous but with some color correction from Suichiro - Thanks again for that, I really appreciate it!
-
Fabulous job... The characters, the background, the frame... It all works great!
As for the Menders, not into them myself but I think often the less there is known about a group the more attractive it can be since you have that much more freedom to make your own histories and stories. -
Quote:Kind of, but not exactly? So you need to submit your entry twice, once in your own gallery and to the group?
You submit it to your own gallery as a deviations - ie upload it.
Next you submit it to the group page... There's no uploading per se in this step, it just lets the site know the deviation should be able to be seen from there as well.
I believe that is correct. -
The heck with belts... Caemgen wants to wear suspenders!!
-
C'mon, you should know there is always a guide for whatever ya need!

(that should at least have some useful links...) -
Yeah, I caught that on my dA watch and immediately loved it...
Then again, hard to think of any Nadya art I didn't enjoy... -
Quote:Wow! Thanks! Great job and definitely much more in line with what I was expecting and his normal color scheme. Very cool of you to do that, I really appreciate it!
Quote:Originally Posted by Eddy_SwanMaybe it came from the picture of him I did? dunno if you are still using that as a referance for the knotwork but there is a greenish tone to it in that (because there is a greenish tone everywhere :P) *shrug*
Funny, I immediately recognized his knotwork as having come from your art of Caemgen but for some reason I didn't connect him as having taken the green tint from there as well... But you are definitely right.
'Course the green tint makes much better sense in your pic as it is a theme across the entire thing, on Becaro's it strikes me as a bit odd since there's nothing indicated to produce a green tint and it's only affecting the grays of the costume so it appears at first look the costume is that color...
But hey, thanks to Suichiro, I now have the best of both worlds!!! -
I've actually toyed with a green version of him... But skin tone, not clothes
The green was glaring when I first saw it... Probably because it was totally unexpected. I'm growing more used to it the more I see it... Not positive liking it more but... Hmmm. -
$10 Quick Commission done by John Becaro http://johnbecaro.deviantart.com/
I really like his work on the face and love the detail on the gloves, boots and shoulder pads... Not totally sure where the green came from though.

Never bought any...
Would possibly. Would probably be more likely to if it was simple to get one of a pic I ordered (would save me hassle of getting it done elsewhere when I get to that) but I would potentially buy one of more general art... But if so it would be unlikely to be a character and more likely to be more... er, I don't wnat to say more real art or something which could be taken the wrong way... But more something I'd be likely to put up in my front room as opposed to my computer room?
There's actually a couple things I have favorited on dA which I would consider getting but I haven't looked at pricing, sizes avail, or if they're even offered as prints yet. -
Well, at least I now have some understanding of what is meant by vectors now
Still no understanding of the lime green ice cream soda though! -
-
-
Ok, for those who are art illiterate (me) what exactly is meant by vector work in this context?
I know what vectors are generally but not sure exactly how it applies to art? -
Quote:Personally I don't know why they just don't do their own website and post a link every time there's a new issue. *shrug*See, I just don't get why they don't make it look like whatever, put it in a jpeg or pdf or some type format and then use the new picture displaying commands we now have and post it.
You'd think something would be better than nothing. Besides, how long have we had these new forums for now?
Then again, I have no affiliation with the staff, don't know jack about making websites, and really am just talking out of the wrong hole -
Ah, but viewing wasn't my issue - Resizing and saving as a different file type was. Can it do that? (I had no problem just viewing stuff...)

Quote:Rookie mistake? Guess I don't even play in the league since all I don't even understand the above except it's two different ways to save something.ahuh! rookie mistake on my part. it was saved as CMYK (print color profile) and I forgot to convert it to RGB. will send a web suitable file through.
Thanks again, Eddy... You're my hero!
