  1. I've always figured that in a comic book world any two characters can interact easily enough, at least on a short term basis... Heck, some of the best teams ups are major powers with what are, at least technically, minor powers. Prime example may be superman and batman... Though bats can go up against anyone he technically is a minor in the power level category...

As for storylines, unless two inhabit totally different spheres, it would almost be inevitable for them to cross paths. Sure, maybe one is there to wipe out the whole evil lair and the other just wants to sneak in and grab evidence but almost any pairing can be worked out.

Anyway, as for the art... Nice stuff there! I'm not a huge fan of the "zoinks" brand of comedy art but used sparingly it can be real effective.

Though I do think instead of soda the cans should have been Red Bull or some other energy drink
  2. Don't feel bad, on my first reading of it I read woodchuck!
  3. Sorry CR, I'm with them...

Seeing the toy duck next to the part of the image you mean I suppose I can see how one could make the connection... But I think it's a big ole leap.

But then again, some people are better on drugs than not

Appreciated but as I said, give to the artless... or at least those with less developed galleries than mine You'll get my business soon enough I imagine. (My self imposed withdrawal from buying commissions is a temporary thing.)

But my real, second piece of unsolicited advice would be to throw up a journal with some prices... Probably not everyone is like me but personally I loathe the "send note for prices" crap. I don't think I've done that once. If I cannot see a price (or at least a ballpark price) for the work, I move on.

Wouldn't it be the 1996 or the 2000 ones? 1998 was the Winter Olympics and I am pretty sure archery is/would be a summer event...
  7. Yep, so I see But at least everything in it is quality!

My humble suggestion for if you're looking to take commissions from outside (err, dA at large I guess I mean) is to get a bigger gallery! I'd seriously be personally hesitant to hire someone with such a small portfolio... Well, unless you were ultra dirt cheap, then I might take a chance that those aren't just the absolute best of the past X years

But really, everything in there is pretty solid.
  8. Very nice work... Can't wait to see more!

(Seriously... I am not waiting! I am peeking through your gallery as I type!)

Lol... really examining it to try and figure out WTF you were talking about I do spot (finally) the grinning pumpkin face... but not the rest of it.

But to answer your questions - Them's her boots, you doofus!

C'mon... A gal kills herself to look fashionable even while fighting crime by wearing high heeled boots and when she fnally gets a chance to take them off (and put herself through a different kind of torture) you expect her to put them away neatly?? She obviously just kicked off her boots and plunked down to crack open the books!

But yeah... The one mostly off screen... Heh, that does totally have a pumpkin face shaded in there!

Still cannot even make myself see how the other looks like a wood duck.. Though I suppose I can see how the upper boot could be mistaken for paper... by a doofus.

Funny, I say that just looking at the Fenian pic

  14. I came to the decision a little bit back that I really should let the local artists post their works in their own threads... It's you guys (and gals) who deserve the right to brag over the great arts you do, all I do is provide a bit of incentive for ya's to use my characters in them

As I said in email, I absolutely love this! It's amazing all around... The pose is great, the face beautiful, the detail superb... And overall the piece totally captures that whole "Studying sucks - I'd rather go and and just punch the bad guys than have to look up some silly spell to defeat them" kind of attitude I was hoping for!

    Great job!

    Feral Kat artz!

I've no idea about the shoulder cat thing... For my part, I'm just going with it and being silly.

  16. I have nothing against strategizing... But is it neccessary in a month without an elimination? Only reason I can see for it this month is so as not to scare off competition...

Hey! No Hogging all the arts for the kittenhs! Alpha would not look right with kitty ears and a tail... Fenian maybe... Caemgen? I half suspect he's part lion and would eat up the kittehs if they tried to steal his arts...
  18. Very nice... May have to check out that story even if there does seem to be WAY too much
    math in it!
  19. Very cool arts Foo...

And damn, I was estimating at least another day for the 30k!!

As for Limedolly, they're CoX - I know I've seen the name on the boards, just not sure if it was this one, roleplaying or whatever the top one in the For Fun section is named...
  20. Dude!

Seriously, wth was the reluctance in going first? That is awesome and easily the best piece I can remember you doing...
  21. Thanks

it does have that epic, raging through the city, fight til the end kind of vibe to it... I also have no idea who they're fighting - I might have to come up with some kind of story for that.... Hmmmmm.

Caemgen must have also made some kind of pact with a demon to have those fiery minions behind him Looks cool as he'll, anyway.

The one part of the pic that did give me trouble at first was Alpha's fists. It took me a couple looks to figure that was what they were, first look I thought he had his right arm bent out in front of him and was using something with ridges as a shield...? But that may have been yet again caused by first looking at over my cell phone and not seeing whole picture at once...

  23. As I told Eddy a bunch of times already, I think he did a fabulous job of doing a coloring job on the offbeat style of the Kelly works... I must admit I wasn't sure color would work on them but Eddy made it work perfectly.

The Bayani piece is very solid, very clean... Perfect for a character reference sheet.
