Wow...
Hmm, guess not much else needs to be said. -
Drag shows, John waters movies, RHPS, having lived many years in the "edgiest" part of Buffalo (not that that's saying much) etc... Besides, nothing funnier than the 6'6" 300lbs drag queen who worked as a bouncer at a punk bar for a while...

I always try to keep a spare hottie on my head just in case of emergencies...
All in all, this is pretty darn cool... Looks like a snapshot from a dream sequence or something. My one question though is about the streak - it appears to be a tear track but besides that the face doesn't appear to be sad... Ok, guess it's not a question so much as a comment. -
I'm guessing he's suggesting that drag queens tend to pluck their eyebrows entirely and draw new ones on? Or at least pluck them down very thin... So I'm guessing he has thin/faint eyebrows and is envious? Or at least something along those lines...

Eh, it's not the first time people assumed (hoped?) she was mainly nekked in a b&w piece, the one with her on all fours and the cat on her back springs to mind as some people thinking they may get some nudity...

The only way I can see someone even possibly thinking it's too suggestive would be if they didn't realize Kat actually had clothes on... I suppose if they really didn't know the character and their outfit...?? *shrug*
Anyway, it's great art and I cannot wait to see the colorized version -
If everyone would just stop whinging about maintaining their own national identity and all that crap and just give in to the inevitable and become American this problem wouldn't exist...

Quote:Just win every other month and you only have to put that much time in every two monthsFinished! Well I put about 17 hours into this one, I think. Might add one more hour for touch-ups tomorrow. I don't know that I can afford to put that kind of effort into this contest for each month

I totally agree. I usually try to give the artists as little direction as possible - I figure they're the one with talent and skill, let them use them, and their imaginations, to express how they see the character. Not every piece is exactly what I was hoping for but on the other hand many are much more than I would have imagined myself.

So is corrupting the innocent
just not usually going to get you an A+ or gold star for some reason. Hopefully the teach is down with it though...

Something tells me Smokey the Bear will NOT endorse this childrens book...
If your grade is all on the art, this should be fine... But if you think age appropriateness of content will come into play you may want to reconsider encouraging that age group to play with matches...
I mean I want to see this personally! I think it could be amusing as hell... But while the writing, message and meaning may be age appropriate, the characters are not - making matches and matchbooks nice, friendly and inviting to kids?
But really, if that won't diminish the grade or anything, I seriously want to see this!!! -

Would it be wrong of me to want to murder everyone who has Cashoo arts in their sleep and steal their pretties for my own??????
I don't want to do that.... Of course I don't!!! I was just wondering.... -
The art is indeed great...
Though I do have to wonder if Rhardo got confused as to what the pose was supposed to be..They actually look to me like they are fashion models doing poses on a runway or for an photoshoot rather than dancing, but I can't quite see them about to beat up baddies...
Of course, maybe the bad guys tried to lure the two of them into a trap by saying they were doing a "Fashion of the Heroes" photoshoot on a rooftop - Unfortunately for the dastardly villians, they're trap was a bit obvious and you and Ally are just having some fun playing along until you kick their aaaaaaaa..... butts? -
Quote:I generally don't stray much from here either (I do peek at the Hero & Villian Culture and General Discussion boards when REALLY bored) but I decided to stray a bit and advertise for yaIf anyone who actually travels to any other parts of the CoH boards, which I generally do not, could please spread the word about the vote, that would be awesome. Anyone with an account is a fan of the game, and is free to vote for their Fan Art Champion.
I figured the most appropriate place to put it was Player Events though so I stopped in there just long enough to post this http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...81#post2563881 and skedaddled my way right back here where it's safe, warm and the cookies are free. -
Don't know if it is so much bushy eyebrows as it is a very heavy brow and deepset eyes...
Anyway, very cool. -
Quote:I think I'm going to have to bring a psychiatrist in to help some of you dear entrants. You can't seem to tear yourself away from themes of violence and gore when I give you a romance theme! I believe there are underlying issues.
Actually my first two (stronger) ideas actually would have had no gore or violence... But one would have had some sadness and the other probably would have come off romantic but really not lighthearted. *shrug* I may be able to pull off the third idea though... but unlike the 1st idea it won't have any girl on girl action - your loss
Foo - Done already? Bah! I haven't even finalized my idea yet!!! Still, very nice! -
Since this vote is actually going to lead to an elimination I was hoping to switch to a medium I don't totally suck at... And I'm just trying to wrap my brain around how to do that and be frivilous. Comedy (intentional) is not my strong suit
edit: Nevermind... methinks I figured a way to wriggle my idea into the theme.... -

I'm sure that if CK kidnapped her, held her hostage and ran enough experiments on her she would eventually learn to love him or he'd find a way to rewire her into thinking she did... Chicks dig those kind of grandiose, over the top gestures!

Very cool arts... And always great to see a non classic pose. Classics are great, that's why they're classics, but it's refreshing and cool to see something different. I guess exiting a car isn't that different, I do it every day
but combined with the superhero motif it's a great pic!
As for the statue... Who is doing it? Oops, reread thread and saw my answer - nevermind -
I don't think I've ever written anything that would be appropriate for that age group
I think we all appreciate you bringing this offer here first but if you don't get any takers I'd suggest you try the roleplay forum (if you haven't already) - probably already thought of that but with a deadline I wouldn't wait too too long to see if a regular here had anything before moving on... -
Neither did I but you finally got me to look it up... From Wikipedia:
A Pinch pot is an ancient as well as contemporary form of pottery. The pinching method is a means to create pottery that can be ornamental or functional, and has been widely employed across cultures and times.
Simple clay vessels such as bowls and cups of various sizes can be formed and shaped by hand using a methodical pinching process in which the clay walls are thinned by pinching them with thumb and forefinger. It is a basic pot making method often taught to young children or beginners.
To make a bowl begin with a ball of clay. Push your thumb into the center, and then pinch up the walls. Turn the piece as you pinch. This will help you keep the walls of the piece at an even thickness. Push the bottom of the pot on a flat surface to create a flat spot that it will rest on when finished. Pinch out the top edges. When you do this, the clay will go out. You can then curve the edges into shapes. A base can be made by rolling three coils and pressing them together, and then onto the bottom of the pot.
Pinched, compressed clay may also be used as a base for building coil pots. The base of the pot is less prone to cracking when it is formed this way. -
