Quote:Last I knew, we all had different genesHumans are social creatures - it´s in our genes - so there´s no biological excuse for not getting the Valentines badges
Until you get a sample of my DNA and due a complete mapping I insist on my right to deny what may or may not be genetic for me!!

Quote:Actually I do believe it is something your born with, most people just get over it...Having no friends and being socially inept is not something you're born with - which means it's something that can be changed
Afterall, one is born with family (at least a mother) but not friends. Friends are made after leaving the host body only... Unless, perhaps, in the case of twins or such. Not sure how friendly they can get in the gestation phase but I'll not presume they can't...
As for being socially inept, I've yet to meet a suave baby. Aren't the youngins generally socialized after being born? I really doubt they come out all comfortable meeting new people and outgoing and such... Well, I guess they are outgoing while being born but that's a different kind of outgoing...
But yes, I could change... But nope. Too lazy. Too stubborn. Far easier to balk at having to team up for 5 minutes to get a badge than to actually do it -

Quote:Multiplayer means having to team? I thought it just meant more than one player.Probably the "multiplayer" part.
(I solo more often than not, too, so not trying to joke at your expense.)
Quote:A multiplayer game is a game which is played by several players.[1] The players might be independent opponents, formed into teams or be just a single team pitted against the game. Games with many independent players are difficult to analyse formally in a game-theoretical way as the players may form coalitions.[2] Quote:A multiplayer video game is one which more than one person can play in the same game environment at the same time. Unlike most other games, computer and video games are often single-player activities that pit the player against preprogrammed challenges and/or AI-controlled opponents, which often lack the flexibility and ingenuity of regular human thinking.
Multiplayer components allow players to enjoy interaction with other individuals, be it in the form of partnership, competition or rivalry, and provide them with a form of social communication that is almost always missing in single-player oriented games. In a variety of different multiplayer game types, players may individually compete against two or more human contestants, work cooperatively with a human partner(s) in order to achieve a common goal, supervise activities of other players, or engage in a game type that incorporates any possible combination of the above. Examples of better-known multiplayer gametypes include deathmatch and team deathmatch, MMORPG-associated forms of PvP and Team PvE, capture the flag, domination (competition over control of resources), co-op, and various objective-based modes, often expressed in terms of "assault/defend a control point". Multiplayer games typically require the players to share resources of a single game system or use networking technologies that allow players to play together over greater distances.
And like I said, initial complaint was mainly made in jest... I do think everything should be solo-able for those who desire or who play at very odd times and don't always want the hassle of finding a team at 3am just to do something but *shrug* -
Quote:You know, for the most part my comments are in jest... I do find it annoying that certain things require a team but not overly oppressive or I wouldn't still be paying my money...It is called a MMO game of course theres going to be teaming going on.
Still, how does MMO signify that teaming up with others is required? Is it in a FAQ I forgot to read? Just because there's a massive amount of other people around doesn't mean I want to pal around with them. And I don't recall where I should have been warned that MMO's require me to. -
Quote:Then make it a teaming badge not a spring fling or V day oneWell, badges are supposed to reflect most of the in-game activities - and teaming is one of them
I'm enough of an outcast what with having no friends and being socially inept, no need for the game to rub it in by refusing me badges as well -
Trust me, nothing can be done about my procrastinating...
-
Just procrastinated over 3 days off so posting to remind myself that there is only 8 days left... Must finish up soon so I have time left to throw something together if my entry is not considered valid!!

Quote:Ok, what the hell is going on at this new job that makes it that bad? Is it a dangerous job? Is there major harassment going on there? Crimes? You being forced to do things against your religion or morality? Are puppies and kittens being forced into acts against their will to create some sick pedobestialfurryporn???I'm absolutely miserable. I hate the thought of going to work where I'm at now. My wife cries because she knows I'm so unhappy, but there's really nothing I can do. I gotta work.
*Sigh*...I gotta find something else soon.
(Thanks for listening)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make fun of the situation or anything.. I'm just thinking that most people hate their jobs... I cannot help but wonder what is so much worse at yours that your so miserable your wife cries over it.
Whatever it is, you know I wish you the best of luck at getting out of there and into a job you would actually enjoy. In the meantime, work on your acting skills and try to put on a braver face for the wifey... I'm sure her crying is only adding to your miserableness so perhaps if you can fake her out a bit you'll actually end up less miserable...
(hmph, probably coming off sounding a bit callous here but I can't help but be curious about why it's so bad...) -
I'm opposed to anything in game that absolutely forces me to team up to complete it. Bad enough with missions, I can fail those and not lose out on storyline or badges or such 'cept a little XP... But for badges I HAVE to be social? Bah!!

Quote:Yep, looks like Lousy's is just a text color code that isn't closed...Drew's isn't there for me. Right clicking doesn't even bring up anything for an image. Odd.
I don't think Lousy has ever had a sig image.
Drew is usingCan you see it here?
If not, it's the Defying Gravity - you won't bring me down one... and looks like he's hosting it himself. -
Drew's shows up just fine for me... Not sure if Lousy is supposed to have an image in his or not though...
-
If she comes with the music, I want it every night!!
But I just woke up... assuming I missed the show. -
Shoo! Shoo! He's mine... all mine!!!!
But seriously, just for the ink clicking scardey cats I figured the actual images he did for me should be posted...
Once again, great job and mucho thanks!!!
And everyone should check out his DA page! http://liber-logos.deviantart.com// -

Quote:That's great! I love how you did him half dressed in his armor. Total awesomeness, thank you very much!!

Quote:I must disagree...The last entry while not as vibrant had the pinup vibe going on for sure... plus I gotta admit I loved the black Arachnos panties.
To me his last entry just seemed like a magazine ad. A racy magazine ad, sure, but still just a magazine ad. To me pin ups are about selling the fantasy, not the product...
Ok, but does this one do a better job at being a pin up? For me it does. Not so much because it's selling the fantasy but because to me this harkens back to Rosie the Riveter...
Now those weren't typical pin ups exactly but to me they are a type of themed pin up... And I've seen some pin ups definitely inspired by them.
So imo, while not smack dab square in the middle of the theme, this does seem to come close enough to the mark (and closer than the last) to qualify... -
Dude (I'm assuming) that is freaking cool!!
The cartoon style works great on that piece and I love the pose and expression! It's funny that you added some freckles... Originally I wanted a dash of freckles across her nose on all the arts I commissioned but it got missed in the first couple and I kind of ended up just dropping it from future requests. They look great though.
You also did a great job on the costume pieces... they're perfect. And the bandanna looks like a bandana - A couple pieces I got almost made it look like a hat instead.
Thank you very much... awesome job.
As for Alpha and/or Caemgen - I'd of course be honored and thrilled to have you do one or both of them but don't feel like you have to. Whether you do or not though, I'm definitely adding you to my must commission soon list... -
Quote:Well, if your improvement from the last one to this one keeps up that same pace, you'll be a pro in no time!I still need lots more practice with the tablet and brush settings, because it's still really hard for me to control the brush effects, but it's still early days, I guess.
Not that the last sucked, but this is a big improvement imo...

Not every artist on my deviant art watch is a great artist... Some have distinctive styles which I like for one reason or another, some are a bit too experimental or weird to be great... And some are just people who may some day be great but right now just aren't.
My latest commissions come from someone currently in that last category.
Not to say I don't love what I got so far... Nor that I don't have high hopes for the headshots I still have coming from her... but she's a beginner and her work is kind of hit or miss so far. I really like a few things in her gallery, others are just kind of meh... Maybe even most.
But hey! I do not say this to slam the artist at all. If that was my intention I wouldn't have taken a chance and bought anything off her... Instead, when I saw her journal about how she was opening for commissions for the first time I looked over her gallery again, I checked out her prices, and I decided why not? I may get lucky and what she does for me may be among her better works and if so I'm getting them cheap... And if not *shrug* not much harm done and I maybe give a boost to someone just stepping out into the scary world...
I'm such a greating freaking humanitarian, aren't I??
Anyway, the first items up are the chibified versions of my trio... These were done by Zeamay http://zeamay.deviantart.com/ - Not the best chibi's ever but I think they're all darn cute anyway...
I'll post the headshots up once she's done with them but so far the initial sketches look pretty good -
Quote:Give Batman all the time to prepare he wants, I don't think he can best Shakespear in sonnetsSomehow I just KNOW Batman and "has enough time to prepare" are going to enter this paradigm...
(I might give Bats an edge what with Shakes being dead and all... but then I recalled Bats being all fictional and stuff!) -
Splitting the atom is easy if you know how to do it and have the right tools.
So is building pyramids, writing code, rigging elections, running drug cartels, alpaca farming, reading peoples fortunes and sending probes crashing into the moon...
Frankly everything is easy with the right knowledge, skill set and talent. Lack any of those and it becomes very uneasy. -
Have a happy... Or at least get too drunk to remember it!
-
ErrERrr, I think he said you scare him because, as far as I know, the text chat isn't shown when you go back and watch a previous stream...??
So how the heck did you see it? Is there some setting the rest of us are missing? -
My non-artist viewpoint...
I frankly don't know why complete strangers watch me... It would seem to me to make more sense to watch the artist rather than the collector. Sure, if it's a person from here or such but besides that I don't get it...
Still, I generally don't bother thanking for watches... I know when I get thanked for watching someone else I generally respond with a "thanks for being worth watching" or some variation - to me it's the watchers who should be thanking for the privledge of seeing the art...
As for faves, I'd personally prefer they went and caved the pic in the artists gallery but I'm too lazy to make the comment to every fave I get... Been thinking I should write a journal pointing this out but so far too lazy for that as well...
As for comments, I do generally respond to comments. I figure it takes more than a single mouse click to comment and it's not like I get swamped with them so it's the least I can do... But I have seen artists whose every deviation gets flooded with comments and I totally understand them not responding...
The one time I always definitely respond is if someone makes a comment that sounds as if they think I am the artist. I label every deviation with who did it and note that in the comments too but when there is still confusion I try my best to make sure the actual artists get all credit they deserve...
