This is definitely the coolest thing going right now...
Hmmmm... wonder if my tax return would be big enough.... -
Waitaminute... I can has moneys back???
Seriously, don't feel shortchanged at all. CR is a bit Mr. Monk like when it comes to spotting flaws, and like Monk he probably finds it a blessing... And a curse.
CR had valid points. Some I had noticed before he pointed them out but I had no problem with. Some I could only see after he pointed them out but despite now knowing I lose no enjoyment of the pieces... One thing I should have been more observant about, another more sure of myself and spoke upbabout, but egads... They're damn cool arts even if they do have a few flaws.. And really, how many arts are without a single flaw or three??
All in all, I would most definitely reccommend him to others and use him again.. That should say it all. -
Personally, I think the Good and evil versions being done in different styles really works well to show they are different sides of the same coin...
-
How bored at work was I last night? So much that I realized I had no arts from artists whose names begin with D, G, H, I, K, O, P, Q, X or Y... (this being names I think of them by, not real names or such... Thus John Becar is Becaro...)
I may just have to work on this for sillinesses sake... -

If CR didn't have issues with art I got i think that would be a sure sign of the apocalypse
I will say though that I view these portraits as more interpretive arts on the characters rather than exact, definitive representations of them. Not that I am complaining about that! I have no doubt if I had insisted (or even asked) for such that Clutch would have accomodated...
Rather, I really enjoy seeing artists put their spins on my characters... Seeing how they interpret them in their own styles and imaginations. When I saw the first roughs I definitely had a chance to push Clutch back towards replicating exactly the game models and such but I decided I'd rather see where he was going. I did insist on a few changes but overall I liked seeing his view of them...
Of course if CR has other issues than how exactly these arts reproduce the ideals then I'm not sure what they are... But I will say that even when I disagree with him I do tend to find his comments and criticisms interesting, insightful and worth thinking about... -
Thank you.
Quote:And Caemgen, didn't you say in another thread that you had this Friday off?. But I do have the next two off!
Quote:Damn, Friday is my WoW raid night. Why does everyone gotta do everything on Friday? >.< -
Egads! I'd be getting a swelled head if I had actually done more than just fork over some cash!!
But I have to agree, they are some of the absolute best pieces I've got so far... There's things I like best in each of those but then again there's things I like better in a couple of other pieces... That's what makes it impossible for me to definitively say one piece is the best.
But... I suppose I can say this is the best full set I have so far of my entire trio -
Love the leandroton... Definitely wouldn't mind seeing that float through my window at night!!

Quote:Careful! Include her in one and she'll just end up wanting her own series!!!I need moar! If I PM Amerikatt, would that be better or does she pop in an out?
I need to know a little about her maturity level. Older, younger. Etc. I don't have a good feel for her yet, but I'm working on it.
Clearly, Amerikatt is planned for an upcoming comic
But may as well PM her, even if just a link to here, so she doesn't have a chance to miss it -
Scooter - I said it in your thread already, but thanks again, they all came out great!!
And not to take away from Scooter's thunder or anything... But I do have all new arts!
The following are done by our very own Clutch, you can click HERE to check his thread with more of his work or go to his DA page at http://brthieme.deviantart.com/ - He is open for commissions and doing great work!
I think he did an awesome job of catching the bestial face Caemgen has... The knotwork definitely rocks and he even jumped on board with the Caemgen in a kilt thing!
I really love the armor in this pic - it totally rocks. Quite frankly, it looks like a high tech armor and the neon effects totally jazz it up!
I love the pose... I love the attitude... He did steal CR's 4-leaf clover ideaShe does look a few years older than I normally picture here (I generally see her as a sassy 20, 21 year old) but once I saw this I refused to let him change that... Since I just put her through a costume change in game to something a lot less revealing, this pic immediately told me a little story on how a few years down the road she's convinced to put on the original outfit again for a photoshoot for a magazine article or profile or somesuch... And isn't exactly thrilled by the prospect. (But hey, at least it still fits!)
Anyway, I love all three and I must say that he was great to work with.. Constantly seeking input on drafts, first attempts, etc... Heck, he had Alpha all but completed and then started over just because HE wasn't thrilled with the armor! I'm going to have to work with hima gain... maybe on a big action scene or something - really put him to the test! -
Thanks Scoots, they all look great! For your first time coloring someone elses lines (I believe?) you really did a bang up job!

Quote:Right back atcha!Always love seeing the artwork you're getting, both here and on DA.
Though it's a good thing I have you on watch on dA as it seems not everything there has made it here yet
(which is fine... just sayin')
Quote:Originally Posted by Sapphic NekoThe face on Fenian in the pic from kimir-ra is quite excellent
And I've got more!!
These three are from the first batch I bought off of Mykemanila http://mykemanila.deviantart.com/ - I loved how they were coming out so much I bought up a bunch more and recently gave a bunch out for a couple solo's of people and for some team ups. Those will take a while but in the meanwhile we can enjoy these
These ones were also meant to be team ups with forumites but I promised the refences would come quickly and that was in the midle of the night so there wasn't a lot of time for people to respond so I ended up using a couple in game villians and VexXxa...
What I found shocking at first were the poses... I suggested nothing more than the two characters fighting and the first of them I saw was this:
At first I was like WTF?? I'm losing!!But after the initial shock wore off I really loved that! I mean how often do we see the good guys getting their butts kicked? Yet let's face it... sometimes we do bite off more than we can chew.
Besides, we all know we eventually either turn the tables or come back to win the day after a short pitstop at the local hospital...
I particularly love the detail he paid to the Crey Tank in this piece... I also love the idea of the two armored foes hoing head to head plus Alpha has a history with Crey...
Anyway, next up was this piece:
Again he continued with the kicking of my butt!
I haven't actually seen Pitbull in game (I'm guessing you only run across him villian side?) but I found him one time while tinkering with writing an AE arc and I couldn't resist using someone of his size to pit tiny little Fenian up against...
For the final pic, Mykemanila turned the tables and had my character getting the better of the fight:
It's funny, if I had chosen the scenes more I would have had me winning the other two and VexXxa having the better of it in this one... I basically consider art I get including someone else to be more their art than mine so it would seem only natural. (Art of just someone else I totally consider theirs... Hopefully everyone realizes this. I don't include those ones on my DA page, or really even this thread as it's their art to show and display, not mine...)
Before CR can point it out... Yeah, the horns are wrong. I pointed it out for the future work that he's doing and hopefully he'll come closer to the exact horns in that one but, specially on quick deals and such I'm finding it a bit hard to be too exacting... on the more "major" pieces though I will be.
One thing about this pic of Caemgen... Mykemanila made him furry!?!
Actually, he's the first to really get my intentions for Caemgen right on that one!
When I first designed Caemgen I used the plant pattern for his chest and such in an attempt to kind of signify fur... I didn't like the monstrous looks and I found plant (without leaves, of course) to be the next best option to try to signify that... Caemgen, in my head, was basically a Nightcrawler type but with wings...
When I first started getting arts I wasn't very picky or forceful on details... And then it got to where I had all but forgotten Caem was supposed to be furry... *shrug* Then I saw this piece and it all came flooding back!
Anyway, the fur is a part of his notes now and from here on out it should be a part of new arts of Caemgen... -

The way she's contemplating/confused by the woman's sign on that bathroom door makes me wonder if she's carrying more than she should be!!
(Transvestite demons ftw??)

Well I think most of us would be more than happy to look
Just don't neccessarily think it would be a good idea to give advice on such an important thing...

FrozenDeath - I believe a person has an ethical responsibility to do more than comment on a stolen wallet - They have the responsibility to report it to the proper authorities (and testify as to what they say, etc, if need be...) Just commenting to other pedestrians that "That guy over there just boosted a guys wallet" isn't really all that helpful.
That being said, if you believe Juggertha's work is stolen then report it to the proper authorities.
Personally, I would have accepted the idea that it was pointed out to educate more if it had been pointed out and that was all. The fact you continue on does make it seem a bit more personal than educational. (Yes, Juggy is carrying on as well but as he is the one being "attacked" I find that more understandable.)
JKat - Errr, wait. Your entry was a painted over screenshot?
Maybe I'm the most unobservant one on the boards but I did not realize that. And if it was pointed out before this, I am the worlds all time king of being unobservant.
Anyway, I am not getting into the meat of this discussion, just figured I would make those two notes... -
Reasonable, intelligent and civilized discussion is not possible here. Have a Barney instead:

Everyone just loooooooooooves the charts.... They're all just falling in love with the charts...
Well not me! I HATE THE CHARTS!!!!
though that probably has more to do with my position on them than how cool they are.... -
DarkEther - I imagine I'm an Isaac but, yeah, I'm really a Gopher
Lousy day - Im on way too much but it's weird early mornings since I work overnights...
CR - if you're not on Virtue it doesn't really count
Juggy - I was going to go with Love Shack originally but decided the Boat had much better cheeseball appeal for tension breaking
And glad you pick an opening with Julie McCoy, not that Judy they tried passing off for a while! -
Quote:*sigh*Thanks, Caem!
(*repeats to herself 10,000 times*) "Llamas are for befriending, not nomming ... Llamas are for befriending, not nomming ... Llamas are for nomming, not befriending ... Llamas are for nomming, not befriending ... Llamas are for nomming and befriending ... Llamas are for nomming and befriending ....!"
Silly kitty! Keep nomming on that llama leg and you'll spoil your appetite for Easter dinner!! And if you don't finish your dinner that means no Catnip Peeps in you Easter Basket.... -
Quote:Lol, thanks FC...awesome stuff Caemgen...I swear I think I follow all the artists you have art done by lol...gratz on the new art
As for the watches, I'm honored you're appreciating so many I have been able to exhibit through my chars. They may not all be top of the world talent but each has something which caught my eye and intrigued me.
