I'm definitely interested in checking it out but a lot will depend on what time Sunday... I work, have to go see my dad, there's a football game to watch (yeah, American football) and somewhere in there I should find some time to sleep...
(Hmmm, maybe during work?)

I'm actually starting to think maybe she shouldn't enter. Bad enough she's a shoe-in to win due to the awesomness of the costume but when you figure in the advantage the hotness factor gives her... Well, it's no longer even a contest, is it?

Quote:What could be silly about a couple of hot 18 year old girls getting a hotel room? That is the stuff of dreams!!o.o
I thought you lived, like, 5 mins from the Con? I thought that staying in the hotel was silly?

but ya, being right in the middle of things, not worrying about the time, etc makes a room a good choice if it's in the budget. Not to mention that at the 2 small cons I went to, all the best stuff happened after 1am...
And I hAd to read Casoo's line about congoers twice... At first I thought there was a Congo line.., -
I vote that weekends totally count and that you owe us 3 pics on Monday!
-
Why there? Because that is where people met since I joined, that's why.
Not a great answer but a simple and true one.
I haven't been here all that long yet and still remember there being a ritki invasion before my fist toon hit level three... In my brilliance I tried chasing down/following one of their ships with typical results... I was actually quite annoyed newbieland wasn't off limits to such nonsense.
But I got over it.
Should trainers be protected areas? Ya, probably. Then again, newbie death with no debt is a good teacher.
Oh, and the reason "the park" isn't as good is the park is a big area. People like a definitive spot to head to. Do zombies spawn atop city hall? Or maybe atlas' globe??? Both would be k-cool places to gatherI'll have to check next time.....

I'd peek iN but I am stuck on my iphone and it won't handle it
-
Second last. Winner goes up against Shia, I believe.
-
Very cool...You'd be a fool not to enter!

Go see the movie Zombieland.
Geeky kid in the movie has a bunch of rules for surviving a zombie apocolypse...
Rule #1 Cardio - You have to be able to outrun the zombie mobs!
Rule #2 - Double Tap - To make sure they stay down when you kill them.
Can't think of the other rules off hand...
Oh, forgot how it was worded but my favorite was Beware of bathrooms or such... Now THAT would make a good artwork! -
Heh, doing all the rules or just inspired by Rule #1? Either way, nice!
-
Shhhh... there's still one suprise left. It's for SG members though so I don't think you're ruining it
-
That is great!
No, really!!
Sure, maybe not professional artist great but in many, many ways it's better because of that. It's not the easiest thing to put your work out there for all to see and the fact that you did for me means a lot...
I am impressed by the detail of it, too. The cables/wires showing looks great.
Thank you for this. Truly. I wish I could express my gratitude better but I have always sucked at accepting gifts and compliments and never know what to say... The not knowing what to say is part of why I hate getting stuff. lol...
Ok, starting to babble now... So thank you and now I'm going to go throw this up on my DA page before I babble forever. -
I don't really know either of you so I can't comment too much on that but I will say that it's really amazing how much "online life" can touch someone's "real life" and I just wish more people took that into account when choosing how to act.
I'm glad you found the support you needed and Bravo! to EnnVee for providing it! -
Quote:Thanks Caemgen, you're super awesome. This marks the first real piece I have of any of my characters, cause I'm a broke a** (as is evident from my account being closed currently) and always seem to miss the free artz lol.
Heh, no problem... One of my reasons for doing this was exactly to bring art to those who didn't have it. Glad you like the it
As for the email, feel free to pm me (Pyro already seems to have confirmed your you) and I can send or you can wait for Juggy. Either works. -
Not to totally hijack the thread or such but...
The thing about RP is that it's not hard, people just think it is. The most basic form of RP is to simply just be yourself but act like what is happening in game is real and not reference "real life." There's no need to try to talk in a specific accent or to know all the jargon or any of that... Just pretend that the game is real.
I cannot imagine there's anyone here who didn't RP as a kid, be it cops and robbers or when building a fort or hell, on the football field or whatever imagining you're scoring the winning touchdown, basket, goal....
All you need do is to pretend a little bit and put yourself in the situation and act how you imagine you would. Unless you're around the real hardcore RP or Death types nobody is going to care that you're a knight timewarped out of the middle ages talking modern English or that you occasionally slip up and mention game mechanics or other real life things.
And to me, the most important thing is that if you don't want to RP that you at least don't get on the case of those that are. And alternatively, that if you do RP you don't get on the case of those that don't or those who don't do it 24/7 or who aren't totally immersed in it.
I personally enjoy RP'ing when I'm in the mood and around others who do. I'm definitely not a 24/7 person/ When in a mixed group I try to RP with those who are and carry on a normal conversation with those who aren't... Sometimes the two get mixed a bit. *shrug* Nobody ever seems to mind too much.
So anyway, I guess my point is that everyone should feel free to RP or not... I'd like to encourage those who don't normally to give it a bit of a try sometime but if not then that's ok too. As long as everyone allows everyone else to do thier own thing then everyone should be happy. -
Quote:There was absolutely no sense of obligation at all, don't worry about that for a second.I can see wanting to have those pictures done because they all seemed so cool to you but i truly hope it's coming from a place of wanting to see it don rather then a place where you feel obligated.
The number one reason was the pics seemed cool as hell to me. There was also some motivation on wanting to see a couple specific people get art for various reasons and that I wasn't happy with a couple of the reasons I used to decide finalists... But no feeling of obligation at all. Zip. Zero. -
That's a question it may take a lawyer to answer, I think. If contracts were signed it can get complicated. The language would have to be parsed to see if the use of your image was contingent upon a completed work, if it was limited to the use of the completed work or if they could use the image in other works, etc etc etc...

All those spayed and neutered pets?
What they lost can never be gotten back!

*clears throat* Ahem. Wow, Foo and Swanzy! I'm sure you're actually underpricing it at $100 trillion; the two of you are so generous and that's why we love you and will do anything you demand of us. I am honored to pledge my service in both of your names, surely you are gods in your own right.
I've been holding my contest WAY wrong!! -
I'm with swanzie, the smart bet is Gray.
If she wins and finds out you bet against her, it might be you hide that lines her new Fenris fur coat... -
I have been having a blast!
Logged in about 1am eastern and played til about 8, no problems here.
Actually my one problem was not enough people bothering to take down the banner. I was at one the whole time, most by myself, and I think 5 showed up last minute when too late
so try using off hours, try playing the game and looking at events as bonuses. And all in all chill out. If things are REALLY that bad there are alternatives...
Ah well, I'm still a newb so maybe I'm just not jaded yet but I am willing to take a few problems in exchange for much added fun...
Thanks Devs! -

lol...
Trust me, there was no feeling of having to do this... It was all about me wanting to see all these cool scenes.
As for the money layout.. Well for most of the extra works I hit up a sale to minimize that. This will also probably mean my next contest will be even longer off than it would have been. But don't worry, I didn't bankrupt myself or anything like that. -
I asked entrants to pair up one of their characters with one of mine and suggest a scene between the two. I then picked some finalists and had everyone who wished vote on the final winners...
At this point I would like to apologize to everyone involved for wasting your time.
I had the best of intentions of running the contest, and following through with it just as I detailed in the original post but in the end I just couldn't do it.
All the entrants had such cool characters... All the suggested scenes became so vivid in my imagination... After the contest was completed I just wasn't satisfied with the two winners. Not that I wasn't totally eager to see the two pieces. Not that I didn't think they deserved to win. But rather I was disappointed in not seeing all the other ones...
Well, I could only think of one way to fix that... All entrants got one of their entries commissioned out.
Not everyone is getting a piece by The Foo which was the announced prize (though the two winners and a couple others are) but they will all be getting a piece done. Frankly I didn't want to overwhelm Foo nor wait forever to get them all done... I was going to wait to reveal the pieces from the non winners until their all done but with so many people watching various DA pages and such I realized that just couldn't realistically be kept a secret.
Anyway, the first piece is done and you can find it here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...28#post2340928 -

Anyway, the first piece is done. I would like to present you all with Fenian Girl and Oathbound by Juggertha:
Fenian Girl is my character, Oathbound belongs to... Oathbound. The rest of the pieces will be posted here as they become available... Larger version can be found on my DA page (click the face on the right in my sig bar) and Oathy, PM me your email address and I will email you the full file...
