  5. Ah, ok...

Decent enough movie... Don't recall a lot of ice in it though
  6. Well there's nothing wrong with crying over something sad... But if some guy is crying because his mail got delivered late, because his gf forgot their 3rd and a half anniversary or because they accidentally drove a nail into their jawbone... Well, then they're just wimps and neat a good beating!

All in all, I think there were too many lighthearted moments in Buffy to ever get me into a place where I'd be close to tears. Not to say I never got a little bit of moist eyes over a movie or anything but it's generally been for much more "serious" dramas.

    Oh, and HEY!

"Recommended"?? This game can be played on that mode??? I really can't push past "Performance" and expect to be able to do more than walk down the street.... (this makes me cry....)

Are you nuts? Saying something like that is just asking for ChristopherRobin to beat you over the head with the Hot Pencil - Quick Sketch Thread!!!

Don't let the 5 minute rule scare ya, us non pro's get to cheat and take as much time as we want And if I'm willing to post up my drivel in that thread there should be no reason for you to be scared to jump in!
  8. Also, forgot to mention earlier but... I seriously doubt the Spidey in the black costume pic was the reference for the IGN.COM art. I would bet dollars to donuts that it was totally intended to be Venom in that pic... Anyone who muscled out spidey like that would obviously be on way too much acid.
  9. I will only marginally blame those who bought the comics since it's hard to give up a title you loved for years just because of a crappy artist... Though if your talking about a new title that started off with him then that's a cat of a different color...

And I don't know the histories, names, stories of artists like many here seem to... I just look at pretty pictures and ooh and ahh when deserved... But it kind of sounds like this guy got to thinking way too much of himself... And while I won't blame someone for not being talented I can blame them for being egotistical

    Feral Kat artz!

Now that one is totally awesome... Love everything about that one from the cat on your back to the expression on your face to how the detailed ground and wall contrast to the minimalist detail on the outfit.... Very great piece.

(and, errr, I'll not diminish my praise by pointing out how freeking hawt the pose is.)
  11. General sports reference, nothing specific... Just that 0 wins and 2 losses is not a great start to any season... In fact would mean the least in baseball since they play 371 games per season....?

If I was to be sport specific it would be hockey, the only sport that I care about. In hockey terms I'd put it at 0-0-2... No wins. No losses. Two ties (is -definite maybe assurances of some non specific future possibility.)

Btw, latest sketch is great. Forgot to mention earlier...

(and technically, these days, the third column for hockey is overtime/shootout losses but *shrug*)

    Yes, but did you cry?

(if so it'll prove Aussies aren't real men so consider your answer carefully...)

    Feral Kat artz!

    Hot, as always

(shuffles off to add another to his da watch)
  15. I try not to bash anyones creative efforts and won't do so here... But I will ask this:

who is really to blame? The artist or those who hire them?

My lack of skills has been displayed several times in this forum but if someone offered me a nice fat paycheck I would cash it in a heartbeat, even if I was cackling like a madman while I did it
  16. Warm gingerbread cookies served on a hot plate of VexXxa? I'm ready to eat!
  17. I don't get the refusing of free arts... I totally get the not asking or begging for them but refusing? *shrug* whatever... It's not like one would be forced to use the image created or anything yet could end up amazingly pleased...

Anyway, I've mentioned before that there is a bit of a drought of artists examples of their skills on the male form. When looking for commissionable artists I was really frustrated by this. Taking it a step further you could also say a lack of variety of forms...

However there is absolutely nothing to stop a potential buyer from finding an artist whose skills they admire and asking them if they think they'd be able to pull of the desired look. Just because the artist mainly posts examples of t$a it doesn't mean they can't do more... Sometimes it's just what they prefer doing and sometimes it just may be that that's what catches the most buyers eye...

If you really want the art, find an artist ya like, explain your hesitations and desires and see what they say. I'd be shocked if a good percentage didn't offer to do a sketch and let you approve that it was what you were going for before finalizing the deal... It wouldn't be all but I wouldn't be shocked if it was most...
  18. Personally it's not VexXxa's avatar I'd be trying to tag....

Hmmm, 0-2 on the tags (so far at least...) That categaory may not make the playoffs.
  19. More awesomely goodness - yay!!!

I did not cry and my pants are not on fire... Besides, I always found Joyce annoying.

Off hand I would probably guess the closest I ever got to crying during Buffy would be when Tara was shot... But that led to Evil Willow which was super hotacious!

After an agreement has been reached then I select from a variety of artist's who I believe have the talent to render the quality I'm looking for (Don't worry, I'm not pulling you in ).
Actually that kind of got me thinking... It would be kind of interesting to make the volunteers scout some locations and submit those as well. Rather than just having them say "Somewhere in Europe" (which is a bit vague...) they could instead go "Possibly in front of this building" or "At this unique location."

Nothing would make you stick to that exact location after choosing them and discussing the storyline with them but it would make them be a bit more specific and might dig up some really interesting pics!

    Example:
Fenian Girl's parents come from Ireland, she chose her colors and name due to this connection with the place. One day she hopes to win back her parents and maybe go back to the old country and see them again... Perhaps she could meet up with you at the Giants Causeway...

From wiki: The Giant's Causeway (or Irish: Clochán na bhFómharach)[1] is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is located in County Antrim, on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, about two miles (3 km) north of the town of Bushmills. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, and a National Nature Reserve in 1987 by the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. In a 2005 poll of Radio Times readers, the Giant's Causeway was named as the fourth greatest natural wonder in the United Kingdom. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are also some with four, five, seven and eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (36 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres thick in places.

Or perhaps something a bit more mundane if the location didn't have any really cool sites like that...

Daybreaker Alpha is from Buffalo, New York originally and still has some family there. He occasionally, reluctantly, returns there. It wouldn't be hard to imagine him bumping into you above City Hall to foil some kind of terrorist plot or such...

    From Wiki:
It was customary in the past to erect triumphal arches memorializing the victories of war, but the architect and builders of Buffalo City Hall have endeavored to portray the constructive rather than the destructive side of life. Their focus was to accomplish in stone, steel and glass what the ancient Greeks did in stone and timber.
The importance of this Art Deco masterpiece is immediately relevant upon viewing its command of the downtown Buffalo and the waterfront. When approaching City Hall from Niagara Street, one is impressed with an architectural style which is modern without being modernistic and which depicts the age in which it was built. Also, it generally balanced its modernism with a taste of the symbolism normally associated with classical architecture. The exterior and interior are adorned with symbolic figures and decorations, which in bold relief portray an industrial theme.
In keeping with this approach, the main entrance of City Hall is made up of symbolic units forming columns and lintels. The shafts of the columns represent large octagons nut with rivet heads and stud heads applied there. The molding of the lintel is styled to depict a saw, thus portraying the power in Buffalo's industry.

Anyway, was just a thought I had when reading the "stick them in front of the Great Wall" comment... While this is kind of doing just that it would be more about finding more unique and less seen places which are still unique to the locale...

Hmmm, Actually this is something I might consider doing once I start buying commissions again big time.... Hmmmm, nevermind.

  24. Ok, have seen all the episodes in order and not cried once... I be man. Me no cry.

Don't recall the Body espisode specifically off hand so can't say if I even got a hitch in my throat or not... But probably wouldn't admit it anyway.
