But seriously, fun time as always Swanzieman...
  2. TJ (if you ever return to see this) - I did not mean to target you specifically about the free arts thing, I have seen a couple others reluctant in that regards as well. And it is of course your right to decline any such offer for whatever reason you wish... I certainly did not mean to pick on / insult / whatever. If you choose to be insulted or run off the forum... *shrg*

In regards to what your point was saying Spidey was a reference used for Venom arts... I don't think you made it very clearly. Sounded as if you actually meant that someone meant Venom to be Spidey when in fact it was ... errr... Venom.

Maybe your point was something about Venom being an exaggerated version of Spidey and maybe you think that too many artists exaggerate the source when doing new arts even when it's supposed to be the same subject? If so, sorry but you weren't very clear...

Anyway, have fun on the parts of the internet where everyone agrees with all of your views and stands and nobody ever misunderstands your meaning.
  3. Just how longs it take you guardian players to make a ham sandwich anyway??? Sheesh, I've never needed more than 5 or 10 minutes to raid the fridge, be it for ham or anything else....

(still 1-0 end of second... My Sabres need to get a goal, demmit!)
  4. COol piece for obviously cool person... Congrats to you on doing a great job and him for doing a great thing.
  5. 1-0 the other team at end of first period

I'll miss the start but I'll be showing up...

Ya, Alpha (out of armor) is me... With a bit less beergut, I don't think I'll find a real life Caemgen

As for everyone else out there, no looking at the more risqué pics and thinking of Fenian!!!

Ya, I'd have never spotted her without the DD and I don't normally check out the Daily Deviations anyway - Was just a total fluke. Just picked this pic of her instead since she was wearing something close to what Fenian wears...

But on a serious note...there's been a few (I'll trying to track'em down for this thread...nice idea btw) females that I've come across that have made me do a double take due to their likeness of a certain character (mostly fitness models).

Very cool finding Fenian Girl! Gratz...and thanks for the...ummm...link.
Hands off my Fenian ya perv!!

And it wasn't actually an idea for a thread originally, just I was so shocked I had to comment... But then got thinking it could be a cool thread.

Before I stumbled across Zenibyfajnie I totally would have said Felicia Day if anyone wanted a real life reference... But now I found the perfect real world substitute. (And if she didn't apparently live in Poland I consider brushing up my stalking skills...)
  9. While on Deviant Art I spotted one of the Daily Deviations and my jaw just dropped... Not because the picture was that awesome (though it was a good pic!) but because the woman in the photograph looked EXACTLY like I always imagined my character Fenian Girl to look like.

I based Fenian's looks loosely off an ex-girlfriend and what I "go for" in general in girls...And to find someone who fit my mental image so perfectly was just amazing.

Anyway, it was just shocking to see my in game "creation" and my mental image of it so exactly personified in flesh and blood - Hair color, face, body, everything... (only "flaw" is mental image has a spattering of freckles across the nose... I can live without that though)

Anyway, it's a self portrait and all her self portraits make me just drool... You can find them on her DA page http://zenibyfajnie.deviantart.com/ Some images are NSFW...

So, has this ever happened to you? Not where you designed the character to look like the person but rather had the character first and then found the person who personified them??
  10. Ack! Got tickets to hockey game now... Though depending on what time you do I may still make it, maybe even on time... I just may be a wee bit drunker than usual
  11. I wouldn't know what the numbers or parts meant anyway... Once he does post an update I'm going to start talking about bacon in this thread just so I know what's going on!
  12. Pfffffft!

Obviously you missed the smilie which indicated I was just being silly!

(but by the same token, sometimes it's hard to get across what your trying to say without worrying that someone will take it harsher or more seriously than you intend... For the most part I've given up on the proactive apology route myself but only cause I don't really care what most people think of me.)
  13. Caemgen

    Thorny wip

    Looks very cool already.

Got the eyes in back thing going on again, I see... I actually think it'll work better on this finished one than the other - The other was just plain eyes and I don't recall them particularly showing a specific emotion or such. Still looked great but I think the effect would/will be even better with these more unusual eyes.

Trust me, if I had the power to MAKE people do anything it would not involve references....

(Errr, actually references might be good?)

Ok, ok... It wouldn't involve pictures!

(errr, pictures would be a must...)

Fine, fine! It wouldn't involve vegetables!!

(Well, at least not without buttering them first.)

Buffalo actually has a bunch of cool places, a lot of great architecture and just about anything one could want in a city.... If one knows where to find it I always say it's a great place to live but I wouldn't want to visit here.

Of course the whole thing about ya having to live here to see it's charms and know where to find the good stuff, etc is probably true of most cities. *shrug*

I actually debated over places... The "Gold Dome" (I think official name was Buffalo Saving's Bank?) is pretty cool visually as well what with it's... Well, Gold Dome obviously Then of course there is the basillica and the Peace Bridge and the old decaying grain elevators on the waterfront... nut in the end I figured City Hall was definitely recognizable to anyone who has been here and seen it and the others, while cool looking, could potentially be just about anywhere...

(That and, if youre of a perverted mind and really try... You can imagine the city hall building basically being a homage to a certain body part...)

Just chose the Giant's Causeway because the hexagonal pillar thingies are way cool and mind blowing to think that they're totally natural. At least to my simple mind.

McBoo - Your story was amazing! And great job capturing the personality and contradiction of Gray: she completely believes the ends justify the means, and yet she also struggles with a crisis of conscience that sometimes make it seem like that mantra wouldn't be entirely accurate (but it is with her). Thank you for sharing your creativity with us; I loved reading my character
That truly was a really good read! And it's cool to hear he got her personality down pretty well... That's always a concern when someone is writing anothers character.

Foo - You'll pay for a crossover between two characters that aren't yours? Well, knock yourself out, but in light of GK's question...maybe not, I probably shouldn't be so quick to trust ya
    [/quote]

I'm sure Foo just believes the two would be very evenly matched chess opponents and he'd like to see such a match immortalized...

I'd prefer to see the team up include battery operated toys, edible clothing and lots and lots of Jello... But Foo is too much the gentleman to think such thoughts!

I know nothing about generally... I'm basically tech illiterate these days. Back when 1200 baud was cutting edge I actually knew about hardware and programming but alas, I got left behind decades ago

Anyway, I don't know for sure, but I think it's a deal where Pyro gave a price range he could spend and CR is building the most kick butt system he can for the money? So CR is having fun teasing Pyro about just how kick butt it is?

Or I could be totally wrong on all of the above,,, CR could just be trying to totally frustrate the technophiles... He does have a bit of a cruel streak.

There is absolutely nothing worse than spending 4 hours digging your driveway out of snow then having the plow come by and block the thing again just as you're finishing up!

Plow snow IS the worst... It's heavier, chunkier and and totally predictable - It ALWAYS comes at the worst time possible.

If my understanding is right, there was no parts list before they were ordered. I believe CR had a good idea of the specs he wanted to end up with and a price range he could spend in but that the exact parts were dependant upon sales and availability...

That aside, I believe Pyro is in the dark about much of the final product and is enjoying the suprise... Since he's paying we either have to play along or ignore the thread I guess

If I go with a custom rig (which I'm considering doing around the time GR comes out) and I decide to go with CR... I'll try to get him to be as upfront about everything as possible in a similiar thread since I know jack all about components and them being a suprise would mean little to me
