Quote:Looking at why people from Paragon were here would have to wait for a little longer, as when her work was done, the glow ceased and Sue practically collapsed onto the floor of the office. A few deep breaths later she was able to push herself up from the floor.
There done all done why why dont you tell me why theres Paragon natives here and just what the hell youre doing with them?
Sue continued to try and catch her breath, but its fairly obvious shes not going anywhere or doing anything for some time.
We had hoped, that with fresh blood... we hoped for a better world for our children... so we took in your unwanted and dejected the president said softly, slumping in her chair. -
Quote:With the Jills soothed and once more all nice and linked together, with nice soothing comfortably thoughts reverberating around their links, Sue moved on to the next step.
Still sat motionless in the presidents office Sue begin to ask for help, from the Jills and from the psychic collective she already centred, asking the hundreds of buzzing minds to help lend her their strength.
In the office Sues hair began to drift as though under water, and her head began the glow a faint purple, as waves of powerful concentrated psionic energy began to radiate out, performing on a large scale her actions with the single man before. Grabbing three dozen minds at once, brining the burning light of hope to cleanse the ingrained command and moving on, it would take a long long time to help all of Oceana, but Sue was commited to her path now.
Eventually Susan would of been able to fix everyone, on the island...
Not that everyone needed fixing, the people in the government were all immune, as were Jack and his sister where Sue had left them. Around two hundred or so minds, had never been infected, people from Paragon City. -
The other door opens up on a deserted dock, a series of chains, would raise a tall metal gate, that would turn the dry dock in the warehouse into an indoor dock, for medium sized vessels.
-
Quote:Perhaps if given longer, more time to experience being alone, to discover for themselves what life was like for the rest of mankind, their answers would of been different.Sue quickly sat down, shifting into a lotus position on the floor, not saying a word, no doubt confusing the president a fair bit.
But there would be time for explanations later, Sue was far too busy relaxing her mental defences, letting her mind drift to each of the little bubbles of fear, which made each Jill so much easier to find, offering each on the chance to have Sue tie them all together mentally once more, but not simply doing without asking, always it would be the Jills choice.
But Sue asked them while they were still terrified, still desperate for things to be like they all ways were.
So they accepted, each and every one of them. -
The president walked over, to her desk and pressed the city wide intercom.
Username Hubbard, access code Mary had a little lamb... command Sunrise. She said in a voice, that echoed over the city.
Across the city the children began to wake up, then gasping in fear and surprise they began to cry. Without a centre to their network, each child was cut off from the others, alone in their minds for the first time in their lives.
Little bubbles of fear, depression and loneliness began to pop up all over the city, even in the presidents room as the Jills there awoke.
The man on the sick bed, began to cry, tears dampening his pillow. -
Of course we tried. The president said, before catching herself and beginning to talk in a respectful tone.
We have no other meta humans, the Jills are all the descendant of the Wolf, and their family ties mean they can not affect each other. She explained.
The same reason that they cannot capture Jack Wolf, is the reason they can only bandage the wound his farther caused. She shook her head. -
Quote:The president looked into the mans face; his eyes seemed to hint at recognition.Sues hand slid off the mans forehead, and she stepped back with a sigh, that took a bit of doing.
There, see permanent fix, doable, what you should have done from the start, now how am I going to do that to the entire city
This... she breathed out, in a hushed voice Is a miracle...
She looked at Sue, in astonishment, as if looking at her without preconceptions for the first time.
We have never been able to cure someone before.... please you must help everyone. She begged. -
Quote:Opening the door would reveal..."Fine by me! Now let's see what's behind door number one, shall we?"
That they were neither in Talos Island nor actually in Port Independence.
They tunnel had gone under the war walls, and led them to a warehouse in the district between Port Independence and Boomtown. The building backed onto the Estuary, the other warehouse door, no doubt actually opened out onto the docks, which would explain the sunken pit with dingy seawater in it, inside the building. -
Slowly, so agonizingly slowly, the command was removed. It would take time, but the mans mind would fix his body, no longer would he be dragged towards an un-natural death.
The man stirred slightly, looking around, but lacked the strength to speak out, or move more. -
Quote:Widows and Banes are mutant possibly mutant/science origin.Good point. There are two levels of justification aren't there? Even if you're magic, but not in a Ghost Widow/Mu sense, there is some thought involved. It would be overly limiting to have to build all of my toons around one of the 4 themes, so maybe it's just expected that we'll broaden our justifications?
I'm a little confused about Ghost Widow too. Widows are considered natural origin, are they not? Come to think of it: All VEATS are natural origin, yet they are allowed to choose any of the 4 patrons. Arachnos Soldiers use a lot of tech, so why not mace? Maybe Ghost Widow's Darkness Stuff could be seen as an extension of Widow mind power training? Clearly the devs must have something in mind that allows the 4 origins to make sense on them.
At least the fortunada branch of widows are. -
Sometime in the past the mans mind had been twisted, along with his body. The changes driven into his mind, had in turned caused his body to change. An anti-placebo you might call it, the unconscious changes his mind had made to his body, would pass to his children and their children, forever making the presence of the Wolf known to the world.
His mind was in disarray, for years his survival instincts, had warred with the dark command driven into his very being by the dying Wolfs howl, slowly that instinct had worn out. The Jills had helped, fixing his emotions, bolstering his desire to live, but one day when his will had ebbed low, their hadnt been anyone nearby and he finally fell to the command.
That command, that dark geis carved into his very psyche?
Die -
The president opened a draw, well dragged the damaged draw out spilling its contents on the floor, after it refused to slide open, from among the discarded papers she picks up a walkie-talkie.
This is President Goose, please bring one of the sleepers to my office, immediately. She spoke into the device.
After ten or so minutes, two men arrived; they had a third man with them on a hospital bed, with some sort of drip going into his arm. He was laying, as if at resting, just staring at the ceiling with no motions other than his breathing. He looked almost skeletally malnourished, all skin and bones.
They just fall down, and wait to die the president said, after she had dismissed the two bed bearers. With a nod, they went to wait outside. -
So... the president said, as Sue re-appeared He has his sister, now how are you going to fix the damage youve caused?
Her desk had been up righted, and she sat behind the battered and chipped wooden barrier, fingers together, looking over her hands at the psychic hero. -
If you can get us out of here, to the harbour, hell just onto the islands surface. Ill stop else...
A series of ice blades flew towards them, Jack Wolfs answering wave, shook the island again.
I cant defend myself without this extra power... and with this power, I cant ... use any finesse. Its like trying to build a house of cards, with a sledgehammer. -
Quote:Its over Jack, theyve given up, the Jills wont listen to them any more and the people responsible are going to stand trial, theres no need to destroy anything more, no one has to die here Jack!
Jack Wolf, used his free hand to go into his pants pocket, taking several red coloured cubes out of his pocket, each had a white starburst on each side, placing them into his mouth he chewed and quickly swallowed.
Really Susan shouldnt you be up stairs, think about it hun....
He raised his hand, and a torrent of water took down the small squad of Jacks pinning them to walls, and twisting metal around them to form cages and restraints.
You saw what she was like, the girl in the sewer, so depressed, so frightened, so full of fear and loneliness. His smirk was rather evil, with the dull glow of his eyes illuminating it
Ive removed the center of their happy little family, without my sister, each of those girls is going to wake up like that girl.... but theyll be surrounded by people, whose natural desire is to die... doesnt take a genius to work out whats coming next does it hun? -
With the man unconscious the warehouse is silent, aside from the adverts playing on the TV, and the dull sound of waves from outside.

Quote:What Sue would of teleported into would be less a winter wonderland and much closer to an arctic nightmare in a metal works.Sue gave the President an icy glare, the quiet terrifying kind of glare that only a woman who could utterly destroy you by thinking hard enough could give, coupled with hints of disapproval.
“No one dies today” She stated before once more vanishing a flare of light, seeking out the thoughts and locations of someone she was very annoyed with at this point, the person she had arrived at the island with, Jack Wolf.
Metal screamed as it twisted and buckled under its own weight, pipes exploded as they contracted and shattered from the explosive effects of the intense cold that seemed intent on dragging the area into an eternal ice age.
Jack’s battles against a wall of creeping cold, their water shots and whips frozen and hurled back at them. But all was not cold, at the centre of the icy maelstrom there was a pocket of calm.
Calmly Jack Wolf walked, carrying an unconscious woman over her shoulder, she was wrapped in his jacket. Shirt torn in a few places, Jack strolled calmly onwards, eyes blazing with power.
“Hello Susan, ice to see you again” he said in a slightly mocking tone. -
Three hour difference for the west coast though....
-
Quote:"O... Oceana their ambassador made a deal with us, gold and uncut diamonds in exchange for helping them get people out of the country"
"You may wish to answer truthfully, lest I return you to eternal suffering courtesy of my partner here."
"She said they were having problems with heroes, that you capes were trying to stick something on her."
The man shook his head
"She played straight with us though" -
Quote:The people down stairs, we werent holding them. They wanted to be there. The man held one of his hands over his groin."What things?" Masha snarled, her own fist glowing as the nanomachines in her hand got to work reinforcing any punch she may throw at him.
"Masha," Florian warned. "Take it easy..."
"Let me work, Florian!" Masha barked, still keeping her eyes fixed on the man. "What exactly are these things, why have you been holding kids down in the basement and what's the connection between the two?"
We just gave them a place to stay, until they left the country! -
"Things by boat, things come in and go out from here" he squeaks out
-
Quote:The greasy man went for the cocky approach."Answer us a few questions, and we will." Florian answered, his charged glove still centred on the man, before getting a whiff of his odour. "For all of our sakes, you might want to answer quickly and correctly, got it?"
"Starting with what the hell this place is." Masha quickly added.
Its a warehouse durrr, where did you think you were Icon?
He struggles in the hold.
Crazy capes, coulda frigging killed me! -
Quote:Longbow ships are on their way, you and who ever else is in charge here will be taken into custody until an investigation is complete, at which point youll be put on trial at the UN, probably for crimes against humanity, the law will deal with you properly, so lets just get ready for Longbows arrival mmm?
The building shook, no not just the building the entire island shook from side to side. From the remains of the Presidents desk a siren began to wail.
Hes found her, you stupid, stupid *****, youve ruined it all, youve killed everyone here you know that?
The Jacks looked expectantly at the President, well those of them still on their feet. The Jacks dropped down through the floor, following the trail left by Jack Wolf.
Yes, lets wait for Longbow to arrive, then you can explain to them, that you didnt like how this society worked, so you killed them, every last man woman and child. The president snarled through flecks of spittle. -
Quote:Some of the Jacks were sensible enough to shield themselves with ice or water as the table hurtled towards them, still they were light, the table heavy and propelled with some force. After the first to get hit were sent sprawling, the rest either scattered or joined forces to protect the prone Jills.Last chance, call them off or I tear down this monstrosity the hard way
Jacks stand down, only attack if she does...
The president did her best to maintain her compsure, glaring down at the psychic who had her pinned in the air.
So in the end it's your might that makes right, youre just like the Wolf... no youre worse, youre pretending you have the moral right to decide for us. Even the Wolf admitted he was a *******! -
Quote:The man let loose a sudden cry, it was probably an expletive but it game out more a surprised half choked noise, than anything of sense.Florian and Masha looked at each other, and simply nodded. This situation was a no brainer. Masha was the first in, taking the opportunity to use the less superpowered approach by grabbing him by his collar while he was still coughing up his food, hauling him out of his chair and pinning him to the nearest clear wall. Florian, meanwhile, kept close behind, keeping his hand trained on the guy in case he managed to cut himself loose.
Awwwghh git off me, I aint done nuttin!
Up close the man was quite unpleasant, his hair greasy and slicked back, and a generally
dirty smell about him, clearly his laundry wasnt fresh on, and he was several hours at least over due for a shower.
