Quote:Okay really? Really? Had to start a whole thread about this when it was going on in the Feedback Thread?
And personally, I think the trend arguement fails on the Steampunk, unless you're just going "I want the jackets!"
The dev's don't read the Feedback threads, obviously. -
Quote:So the Gunslinger set is live. Buy it for males and huge characters, and get the positively burlesque Saloon Harlot costume pieces for females, free! Or not. Get horrible pre-tinting coloured pieces, parts that don't accept secondary colours, and nothing even remotely practical or worthy of the pack 'Gunslinger'!
Devs, if you're going to pull **** like this, take some advice:
1: Don't bother posting a feedback thread for the costume if you're not going to do **** about it.
2: Market it how it is. Rodeo Cowboy and Wild West Night at the Burlesque.
3: If you're going to pre-tint stuff, why not say "**** it" and just make it come in one colour choice only.
Maybe I'm odd in that the bug ridden release of Issue 21.5, the stupidity of the Super Pack and the to be honest lacklustre news from the Player Summit all made me grumble and cancel my second account's VIP sub, but this is the straw that's breaking the spine of a load bearing, behumped animal and making me consider dropping the primary account's VIP sub.
Talking of the super pack, isn't that going up on beta soon?
Somehow I don't think they'll bother reading feedback on that either. -
My opinion on how it should be.....
Super Pack's contain things like re-slotters, exp booster, Archtype Enhancements, all (booster/set) costume pieces.
Inspirations, even the super team ones, they should never be part of this, unless as an 'also' (You get five random things and the random inspiration is a stick of bubblegum)
But nothing in them should be exclusive, at least not to V.I.Ps.
Put the costume stuff in the market, if we want to just buy the elemental stuff let us.
For V.I.P have the Archytpe enhacements drop while still subscribed (heck make them purple rarity if you want, same with the salvage to supe them up.)
Freeb's and Preems, can't get the Archtype enhacements anyother way than buying the Superpack or market access.
This way you get the temptation to purchase these packs for Freebs/preems, maybe even tempt them into being v.i.p so they can get the enhancements through drops.
V.i.p, the people who you are supposed to be treating as very important, to thank them for their monthly payment, they don't feel like they have to 'pay extra to win' as they can get the stuff through normal play.
Heck you might even tempt a V.I.P or two to try their luck ina few random packs. -
Aren't there several European countries that would class this as gambaling?

Was there any actual information about the solo incarnate path, or did they just flub us off with 'next year'?

Quote:Malwarebytes is the one I usually use, but it was disabled by this damned malware.
Ah one of those.
What you need is something like.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/down...ti-virus/rkill
Download it with a second computer, boot the infected one into safe mode.
Run R-kill, wait a bit, pray that it works, then run Malware.
Not much help now since you did a fresh install, but handy for next time, because there is always a next time.
I hate those damn fake positive scams, I'm surprised no government hasn't stepped in to make them illegal. -
Quote:Nope... StopZilla was MEANT to be the "recommended" malware remover of preference for this particular piece of malware. Yeah, people ACTUALLY recommended malware to remove malware... Nice.
http://shop.malwarebytes.org/lpa/342...FQsb4QodsBXAog
Is what I tend to use, when my parents inevitably infect their computer again. -
No luck with a safemode reboot and a malware remover?
Going to have to watch out for that one, it sounds nasty. -
Quote:It's going to be Back Alley Brawler.Right now it feels like Statesman is going to be the one to bite it, but I can also see them pulling the switcheroo at the last minute.
The dev has left.
He doesn't have a zone anymore.
Since GC got destroyed where is he? Hidden away in a police station.
He never had a TF.
He only appears in a couple of missions.
And of course, he's the black guy. -
Didn't really get any aggression from the OP's post, more that his suggestions were jumped up and down upon and flamed, simply because it was different to how things 'are done'.
Which is fairly common in MMO communities to be honest.
"How about we fight the boss on the blue carpet not the red one?"
"OMG you ******* noob, you gotta fight 'im on the red carpet every0one does l2p nub!" etc etc -

Quote:It's an example of a Woman in refrigerator trope when the death is soly to motivate another character (usually male), had she died for some other reason than to motivate Manticore or Statesman it wouldn't be a WIR.Oh boo-hoo-hoo... so a redshirt died. No one throws a fit when Ensign Johnson dies. Oh, but I forgot... this is because of some bogus trope about women in refrigerators. Remember, only Men Are the Expendable Gender. We don't want to upset the sensitive feminists and chivalrists by letting a fictional woman die.

Quote:Anecdote: earlier, I was answering questions on the Help channel on Union (legitimate questions get good answers, but things like "red sewers" are generally responded to by me with "purple chihuahuas"), and I happened to observe (on Help) that if all the people asking for sewer teams just queued using LFG, they would get on trials faster (honestly, when five people in the space of a minute ask if there are any blue side sewer teams forming, I have to wonder), and, naturally, I got shot down with "you queue for ages and don't get on a trial".
The mind boggles.
The problem is if you queue, you'll launch as a team of 4.
Likewise if some one is forming a team of 8 up and you as person number 9/10 or 11 queue up you won't get a team till person 12 decides to join up. -

It does seem to be rather well.
Stupid to do this.
A whole bunch of down time through some peoples prime time, and you don't even actually release the big thing for the update? Meaning you'll pull the exact same thing again some other evening?

Wonder if they'll change their name to CuppaRecaf

Quote:Except well.... I didn't say it was one, did I? I just said it was a handful or a minority. And, when these threads do get posted, they don't get a bunch of immediate posts in agreement, do they?
It could be argued that those who have had real issue with the well... issue have already left.
Of course the Dev defense force will leap to the defense of the status quo even if the game starts to hemorage customers again.
Edit:
Since going Free to play, the need to merge servers should of fallen, however the issue of 'super hero/villain' names running out, will only rise. -
Quote:This is true. However, people also keep bringing up other topics which are almost universally acknowledged as idiotic and deserving of questioning the posters intelligence/parentage/species.
The fact that it keeps being brought up does NOT automatically mean it has merit. All it tells us for sure is that the issue has a handful of crusaders. My impression is that it's a vocal minority that has a problem with it. Personally, I'm fine with the "current way things are being done" regarding this.
Except well.... it's different people. I've not even seen the OP post before. -

Quote:Given that MAGI can't keep a biscuit tin secure, let along a magical artifact or secret. The chances of any hero giving their secret identity to the FBSA and not dying a week later are slim to none.
As a side note, I have no objection to people who want more traditional names, I just object to the assertion that going with the random syllable type cannot work in CoX. Personally I find that the idea of secret-identity style names in a city where 50% of the population have super powers strains my ability to suspend disbelief so my characters have character names which are either their real names or a title that supersedes their name (but with the assumption that their real name is public knowledge) but to each their own. -
Quote:Sure it does. The majority of my characters are human and I tend to select a first name I like and then give them a surname by throwing random syllables together, for example:
Marcus Taldari
Empedocles Mastrik
Dr Alec von Chronite
None of those would appear on the front of a comic book. -
Quote:2. Unique naming requirements are far from unusual in the MMO industry. WoW, Lotro, DDO, Guild Wars, AoC, and SW:TOR all have unique naming requirements. (I'm sure there are other MMO's that also have it that I haven't played) And most of the ones I listed all limit players to one word names.
Difference being WoW,Lotro,DDO,AoC and Sw:TOR have the advantage of being fantasy/sci-fi with alien language, throw a random bunch of letters together, does it sound Orcish? Elven? All right good to go.
Doesn't work like that for CoH though.
