Quote:Time Manipulation is a new primary power set for Defenders, and a secondary power set for Controllers, Corrupters, and Masterminds. It's available free to all VIP players. Channel potent temporal energies to alter the very forces of time to help your allies or devastate your foes. -

Quote:Who needs to be tough when there's nothing alive to kill you?this is brilliant, i was going to mention rad blast, but i don't play blasters, so i only have the def and cor set as reference, not sure how well the damage scales for blasters. but the AoE potential is there, whether or not the "tough" factor is, well that is debatable. hence why i don't play blasters
Usually, two of the above attacks (not including PBAoE toggles) will kill a Minion, with enough ST damage to down a Lieut without worry with Bosses being a speed bump if you go in with a cool head. Cold mastery for better survivability (Hibernate is a life saver). It can be tough, just takes a little while to get to there, though with 3 solid AoEs by level 10 it is a fast leveler. Honest. -
Rad/Fire Blaster.
Irradiate
Electron Haze
Neutron Bomb
Atomic Blast
Combustion
Fire Sword Circle
Blazing Aura
Burn
Hot Feet
Throw in Mu Master for Electrifying Fences and Static Discharge, Munitions for LRM, Elec for Static Discharge and EM Pulse or Cold for Flash Freeze (Proc it up!), Hoarfrost and Hibernate.
AoE everything ever all the time, then use Consume and do it all again. I know it's not on the list, but I have to suggest it. -
I always start and end in Galaxy. I like to do a lap of it as a lowbie, street sweeping to level 6, unless I'm magic, then I can do some of my favourite kick back and relax missions in the game. I like to explore it as a level 51, sometimes finding new places, things I've missed.. There are a lot of very nice touches and sights in the city, you just have to find them.
Galaxy was my Alpha and Omega, and without the chance to protect it with my Incarnate abilities, I feel like it's for naught. If, later on, it's rebuilt and we can return.. Okay, I'll fight for it, tooth and nail, my new Alpha and Omega in hand to meet old friends.
It's quiet, it's prettier, it has one of the most Bad-A characters in the game as your trainer and it has my memories.. I'll miss it all. -
Quote:Conceptual thoughts aside, I really don't see Tankers getting Spines any time soon because of the extra taunt/damage aura, Tanks who're capable of sustained AoE damage are utter beasts so I'd imagine Spines would need several tweaks/changes to address any balance issues which come up for it being in Tanker hands. I'd rather they work on making it work with Shields beforehand because I really really want thatSPINES: (For Tankers) Please for goodness sake. As long as I've played this game, I've thought to myself this set never belonged for Scrappers and really should have been a tanker set. It has driven me nuts for years guys. Please, for goodness sake I'm begging you to give us Spines!!! I've literally got the slot and named saved for this. This will be one of my most rapid and dedicated 50's.
A Martial Arts based secondary for Blasters has been suggested a lot too and is something I really want (Beet the character is Energy/Dev, but I would remake Energy/MA in a heartbeet), though hadn't thought of it being incorporated as a general melee set. A combo SS, MA and Devices? Could be fun, can definately see the myriad of characters it can create, though I think the technical side of it may be difficult to flesh out. What about a full armour set made out of technical devices and dirty fighting techniques? The Scrapper's Ninjitsu, so to speak. -
I can further agree to the Corruptor or Defender and will put forward the consideration of Sonic Resonance to further buff your Tanker friend with resistance to go with the defense, plus adding on a PBAoE -res for them. Ideally a Fire/Son Corruptor due to the higher damage.
Kin is always welcome for a melee character too, of course, and under which case I would suggest a Defender to get those delicious buffs sooner. Pair with Son or Dark for even more support (Fire Blast, of course, if you go Corruptor or wait for the proliferations, but then I'd also suggest a /Son Mastermind) -
Alternate effect for Stone Armour replacing the rocks with tree bark/leaves. Perfect for Ents or plant controlling brawlers.

Really like the idea of Dr Who LARP. Got a little thing going between me and some friends that we should go to a Medieval LARP dressed as The Doctor with various companions, though I generally have a good view of LARPers.

Quote:I suddenly want to grow a giant tree under enemies, lethal damage + huge knockup with one side leading to it also being an AoE ally heal and the other causes additional toxic DoT to enemies.
Ideas for new Judgement trees
I like the idea of the sonic scream, a real Black Canary/Black Bolt audio nuke would be awesome. The other sounds a little too Thorish, I would rather a short range cone where you do an overhead weapon smash along to Total Focus' animation. Would also like to see...
A massive straight line cone Energy blast with giant knockback, one side increases the range and damage but has a smaller cone/target cap/animation effect like you're firing a laser, the other side increases the cone/target cap/animation effect so it's a giant BEAM of energy.
A giant thunder/lightning storm with lightning crashing down and a tornado in the middle, AoE energy DoT with knockup and smashing damage if they're in the middle. One side adds a blizzard/snow storm on top for additional cold DoT, slow and -recharge. The other side causes an earthquake, adding a persistant AoE knockdown as well as increasing the radius/target cap.
Orbital cannon. I don't need to explain any further.
An assault rifle barrage, a large cone of you firing a full auto while throwing a hand full of grenades, massive lethal AoE with knockdown and Full Auto's chance for additional damage at the end. One side makes you throw a flashbang in with the normal grenades adding a chance to stun and -tohit, the other side replaces grenades with molotovs making fire patches under all enemies hit.
A magical Judgement, you float into the air and a large mystical symbol/rune glows on the ground, you start glowing and fling your arms out causing pillars of light to erupt from the symbol causing half/half Negative and Energy damage. One half protects you in a forcefield for the duration of the animation greatly increasing your defense/resistance, the other half increases the target cap and adds Fire DoT. -
Quote:I put on my spandex, cape and wizard hat.Man, I just hope we finally get a wizard hat. After years, the Katie Hannon TF, and the Magic Pack, we had better get one. You know what I'm talking about it, the guy in my avatar wears one. Go watch the Lord of the Rings movies if you haven't already, silly.
And hopefully it will have some hair option to go with it. It's been years, devs. Get crackin!
If this brings proper wizard hats, all for it. Nonetheless, finally a staff <3 -
Throw in the VEAT coding and give an option, one PBAoE toggle, one ally toggle, taking one greys out the other, increase the end drain of the one on an ally if it's not like that due to a balance issue. Then you can use an alternate build for when you're teaming so you can throw it on the Tank/Scrapper/Overzealous Blaster.
Personally I'd like to be able to toggle it on allies, I know plenty of Brutes who'd adore the chance to be a walking debuff. -
Quote:For Shield Charge, you jump into the group of enemies spinning and firing the gun wildly.Seam's to me that your idea is mostly flavor, so the easiest way to implement this would be to make Gun an option in the Shield defensive power. The gun as a deflective device is no more unrealistic, then a sword, bracers, or even a shield in a supper powers game.
Of course this does not allow you to use the gun offensively (Except for brawl, and charge.), but this is a defensive set your talking about.
..It actually sounds plausible, almost. -
Quote:Here's what I would do, but also consider that this is part to see if I'd enjoy the investment of splashing 1b+ and I haven't checked the market in a little while so it may've gone up or down depending.Yeah i was being hyperbolic, but i assume he wasn't talking about just common IOs. 50-100 seems tight even if you're just putting Doctored Wounds and Crushing Impact in everything for the recharge. He also mentioned slotting for HP which i assume means a few numinas and an eradication or 2....
2-4 attacks with 5x Crushing Impact
4x cheap Eradication with 2x Scirocco's Dervish in any PBAoEs (though usually bumps up to 150-200m if none drop while leveling)
Cheap Miracle or Numinas x3 if they drop while leveling, if not 3x Triage are cheap and fill in the blanks (especially when considering Incarnates)
2 powers with 5x Doctored Wounds and a random cheap Heal/Rech IO
Ends with about 25% +recharge, 11% +HP, 32% +regen plus 3.6 +end. Take into consideration incarnates at endgame and the ease of getting just to the Spiritual Partial Core Revamp (33% recharge and healing + level bump) plus support from whichever team you're with (Outside buffs from FF/Kin/Son/etc, Tankers and Blasters taking aggro, Dominators and Controllers locking down groups etc)
Excessive IOs aren't needed when you've a great team behind you or you're not afraid of inspirations
The big thing I like about a Regen is that, in a team environment, any help they get is just that bit more powerful on account of their already reasonably solid passive regen and myriad of clicks, they're built to recover from all damage coming at them, anything -at all- which reduces incoming damage is (IMO) an exponential increase in survivability as, of course, it reduces the damage which also in turn gives them more time to react and recharge.
You don't have to survive the fight, just until your heal is recharged. -
I take great pride in tickling the market for the IOs I want. It doesn't have to be perfect (level 35+ IOs will do), it doesn't have to be pretty (2 slot Scirroco's for fun!), it just has to work. On the other hand, I haven't looked at the market recently, been too preoccupied by Incarnates and other games.

Quote:While fighting Maelstrom during some missions, he's whipped out some Martial Arts moves on me. That makes me hopeful that a MA secondary is on the horizon. He is a Dual Pistols, Blaster right?Quote:I wouldn't get too optimistic on this. There are plenty of mobs with odd powers that don't follow the current AT philosophy. For example, some Tsoo mobs have Scrapper primaries and Kinetics (at least Siphon Speed / Power) for a secondary.
But don't quote me on that. -
The thing to remember is that regeneration (the mechanic, not the set) works by a % of max HP. Brutes have more HP, so regen will be more survivable on a Brute than Scrapper.
Quote:Considering you'll (presumably) be in an 8 person team for such, yes. Team buffs, other players taking aggro, mez etc. And if you're not in a full team, what're you doing trying to solo x8 without IOs? A regen's worst enemy is spike damage, which can be stopped by a well timed Dull Pain, popping oranges/purples beforehand, or teaming with a Controller/Dominator/Corruptor/Defender/Tank/Another Brute (sharing aggro). That's not even touching MoG before you run in, which can be up for every other group. So your saying you can readily before fully IOed out take on 8 man spawns and not break a sweat for an entire mission?
I've seen vanilla WP Scrappers and Brutes be downed just as fast as a Regen because of overwhelming spike damage, and in those cases, at least the Regen had inbuilt panic buttons to try and survive it, and half the time they do, which isn't to say that WP doesn't, just it has as much of a chance by itself on SOs.
I'm looking forward to Regen Brutes, going to pair it with Titan Weapons when that comes out and throw in 50-100m for some quick +recharge/hp, a nice casual character living on the edge. -
-
And then Sparkblade is added to the game as an Elec/G&S Dominator and we get epic content exploring WISDOM?
This update is looking delicious. Titan/Regen Brute, Dark/Fire Defender, Axe/WP Scrapper, Dark/Dark Blaster..
AGH
Devs, I want another page of character slots to buy.
Edit:
Knockout Blow on Scrapper multipliers + Rage x2 + crit. There are.. Quite a few balance issues at hand before the love can be spread, or so I've heard/read. -
Ron Perlman's manlier than Conan.
Let it be known that he must now always wear a beard... And a bear, for that matter. -
Time Warp: PBAoE ally heal (10%), +regen (200% 20 seconds), +recharge (10% 20 seconds), enemy -speed, -regen. 10 second recharge, self -recovery (25% 30 seconds, stacking), 20 endurance.
Use it a lot for constant stacking buffs/heals and debuffs at the cost of increasing amounts of endurance and -recov.
You know it makes sense. -
Norse
Currently Shield/Axe will be remade Willpower or Elec Armour/Titan with the biggest axe possible. -
If anything, I'd buff end drain so that it makes powers cost more endurance while the -recovery is active to make a player's end drain more effective (Elec Blasters rejoice
) while making end draining enemies more of a threat. As is, end drain is all or nothing and players have a lot of ways to prevent, resist or just plain laugh in the face of endurance drain or -recovery. Powerset +recovery, drain resistance, endurance gaining, inspirations, +end/recov IOs, accolades, temp powers, mezzing/defeating the enemy..
BUT I wouldn't be against end drain/-recov resistance added to orange inspirations so they aren't mostly just purple or green insp making fodder.
