they didnt keep me gagged for long! ive got some more ideas!

alot of the inspiration i got was from this thread.

right, each of these ideas fix together in their own way, so try to keep up with me.

first idea number 1!: badges and AV's.

what i havnt gotten is that alot of AV's in the game dont give badges, why not? they are archvillains, there should be some sort of reward for taking them down, like batman has his museum to remind him of all the enemies he took out, why cant we?

now, the seconds idea number 2!: gladiators!

what about, when you get a badge for certain AV's, you can then use them in the arena and they would give leadership bonuses to whatever other villain group they belong to (doctor vhaz would give bonuses to abominations, dreck to tank smashers ect.) ofcourse some AV's wouldnt be able to be gladiations (hamidon, for example). heres a small list of enemies i think would be good for gladiators.

    doctor vhazilok
    dreck
    babbage
    maestro
    eochai
    envoy of shadow
    vandal
    countess crey
    quarry
    kraken
    koago
    nemesis?

    what do you think hmmmmm??

  3. ive got an idea of how defiance could help a bit more. how about as the bar goes up, your defence and resistence goes up aswell? once the defiance bar is full up you will have 75% defence buff and resistence buff along with the damage buff? so the worst you are the less damage they do to you and the more damage you do to them? but i agree, it really needs to go up faster, i can get to 50 health and the defiance bar only goes up by 2 points which is didly squat to my damage

Books are made of paper and can be found in libraries and shops and other such places. The three laws of robotics are from Isaac Asimov's "I, Robot" series.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A popular misconception in fact... If you read 'The Early Asimov, Volume 1', Asimov himself states that he and a magazine editor named John Campbell hashed out the three laws together. Campbell apparently insisted Asimov take the credit as he had the original idea and Campbell merely helped bring it to fruition. Asimov insists Campbell did most of the work... ;p

And they were first postulated for the story "Robbie", contained within the "I, Robot" anthology of short stories...

It is accepted that the 3 (now 4) laws themselves have become public domain throughout the years, but as a mark of respect, the only books where they are quoted in full are Asimov's own. Other authors only usually reference them in passing. For peoples interest, the laws are:

    1) A robot may not harm a human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    2) A robot must obey all orders given to it by a human being, except where such orders would break the first law
    3) A robot must protect its own existance, except where such protection would break the first or second laws.

In later books, Asimov added an additional law, postulated by a telepathic robot and later implemented by a humaniform robot. That is:

    0) A robot may not harm humanity, or through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.

The other three laws were then suitable modified.

And there ends today's lesson on the three laws of robotics!

Oh, and Commander Beet. An interesting story, with some good ideas. Not wishing to cause offence, I offer some honest opinions. PLEASE don't take them personally, I mean them only to provide honest thoughts as to how the story comes across!

As a whole, the story seemed somewhat rambling, as if there was little direction. Your timescale at the start, for the length of the project was a little odd, 2 weeks and 18 days? Surely that should be 4 weeks and 4 days? In which case, 8 months and 3 days or so perhaps? A minor point, but a little confusing.

When it accessed the internet, why did it do this? What there a purpose for that? Something I felt could have been explained to the reader. Then when it spoke (connecting a speaker to a hard drive, huh?), it didn't seem to know why it had done that. And when it tried to attack it's creator, the laws of robotics wouldn't permit it to even attempt this, and I couldn't see why it did that anyway.

The space war I found most confusing. The first part seemed to deal with something in our own time, then jumps to almost 2000 years later. This section I felt needed considerable fleshing out and better explanation.

PLEASE don't take any offence at my criticism!!! I enjoyed the story in itself as a bare bones framework for BEET's genesis, but I felt the way it was put accross needs some work to become a solid story. I hope you can take my thoughts and use them to help you with the next story!

    [/ QUOTE ]

now.. let me think, how could i figure this out... hmm...

about the 2 weeks and 18 days, the amount of days in a week was increased to 21 in 2913 after a religious act was carried out when scrolls were found in france.

why did it access the internet? well, BEET was supposed to be a learning robot so accessed the internet to learn anything that could be known from as many web pages he could access before the computer near enough blew up.

there was a slight glitch with the laws of robotics in the BEET's programming so the laws didnt kick in until slightly after they were supposed to, and he attacked due to confusion and after seeing how corrupt the world had been throughout time.

the war is the next story...

this is the first story about commander beets history, hope its alright, ill take more time writing the next one

“ladies and gentlemen, i think we have it. We have finished the project in no less then 12 years, 7 months, 2 weeks, 18 days at 14:32pm. I call it, beet. Bio-mechanical electronic economic tool, all i need to do now is turn it on.”
“all seems fine, were good to go”
“are you ready everybody? Brace yourself, this might not work yet..”

an elderly looking man wearing a lab coat walked over to a robotic skeleton which was slightly taller then himself. He put his hand forward and hit a switch inside of its chest, a couple of sparks flew from its arms and legs, but after a couple of seconds a couple of cameras on the head, which were used for eyes, began to shine a bright red. It looked around the room, walked over to a computer, put its hand out and inserted its finger into a port on the side of the tower. On the monitor, several programs opened up, and then finally the Internet. It started to go through several thousand websites until the computer stopped in a small explosion due to the immense amount of information it was processing.

BEET unplugged itself and picked up a speaker which was connected to the computer. It connected some of its wires into its hard drive, then it turned around and did something amazing.. “wha-what am i do-doing?”
“i think thats quite enough!” the elderly scientist walked over to BEET and unplugged the speaker, at which point BEET lifted its arm in an action as if it was about to punch him, it went half way then stopped. “well, at least the three laws of robotics are functioning correctly. OK team, lets get back to work.”

the year was 3892, the first of the robotics were created, but still had a few flaws. Between 2006 and 3892, world peace had been declared and life had been found on a planet 41 light years away and we had shared technologies with them, they bought us a new color, temnoid, and we bought them television, otherwise known as gartinib on their planet. The year is now 4206, the aliens which we made peace with were discovered by another race of aliens called prods, who wiped them out and found out about us, which ended up with the first intergalactic war between humans and prods. By now all of the bugs with the robotics have been found out and there are thousands around the world, and each were given a weapon and sent into battle against the prods... i guess we will have to find out what happens another time.

and yes.. i want them at level 50...
  11. CBeet

    my collection

it came to me.. a really good idea, master moves! these are special attacks which only become available at level 50 where you get to do a mission with an npc statesman with a team of level 50's. the way it would is that after 10 hours of playing after you have hit level 50, a statesman npc would fly down to you and ask for your help with a mission, if you accept you will be given one hour to gather a team of 7 other level 50's (so there would be an 8 person team of 50's and statesman) then you will have your first assignment, follow statesman. to start, go to a train and head to dearnson, a new area in paragon city.

once there a cutscene will take place with statesman telling you about word that several rogue villains have gotten together and shared their magics and technologies to try and take out every hero in paragon city from the freedon phalanx to that purple level 1 robot that just started being a hero in atlas park. every enemy in this mission will be AV level 50's but with the hitpoints of their normal npc selves. all you have to do is help statesman get to the other end of the area without being taken out.

in this first mission, there are level 45 AV skulls, hellions and vhazilok, and all with shared powers. from the hellions, they all get magical tatoo's which give them all fire breath and fire blast, from the vhazilok they all get the power to ressurect their allies and from the skulls then all get a skull mask which gives a 75% boost to defence. taking out all of the specific types of enemies will take away the special abilities to their allies (for example, take out all of the vhazilok in a group and all of the other enemies will not be able to ressurect their allies)

once at the other end safely, you will be in another zone called simply "danjar" which have circle of thorns, trolls and council. there are three forcefild generators in the area which is as big as skyway, you have to destroy all of them then go into a building in the middle of the city. all of the generators have a 90% resistene against all types of damage.

circle of thorns give the other enemies the power to summon spectral daemons, the trolls give all of the enemies knockout blow and throw boulder and the council give them all sonic guns which have a superior damage attack which has knockback and a cone debuff. once all of the forcefield generators have been taken out, statesman will notice how hard this could be so he calls for some backup. sister psyche and the back alley brawler will then be teleported into the zone. there should now be 8 level 50's including you, statesman, sister psyche and the back alley brawler on your team. time to go to the fortress in the middle of the zone.

inside of the building, or fortress, are sky raiders, malta and lost. the sky raiders give all the enemies jet packs, the malta give everyone sapper guns and the lost give everyone the rikti blades and guns. your objective is to get to the heart of the fortress and take out the central computer which lets the leader of the group contact the rest which will tell them what to do and when. the computer has three missle turrets surrounding it, the missles do the same damage as lmr missles but they have moderate recharge rate and 50% resistence against all types of damage. once they are taken out you have to destroy the computer. once the computer it taken out, you will be teleported out to the train you enered and ready for the next mission.

the next mission is, simply put, near impossible. your objective is to gather a team of at least 5 level 50's and go to atlas park, go to the top of atlas statue and let off a temp power called flare. this will send out 5 flares into the air and a helicopter will phisically come out of the sky and pick everyone that is level 50 on top of the statue up (you need at least 5, but you can have up to 18 at the top of the statue at the same time). your team, statesman, synapse and positron will all be in the helicopter.

you are now in a zome with a large space craft in the middle with a lift at the side. you are at the edge and you have to make your way to the middle. there are several level 50 AV council minions and leuitenants. they are in several places and trying to take out some of the launch site. if you dont take them out in time, they will destroy the objects and you will have failed the mission. once they are all taken out, you will find that all of the crew are also defeated so you will have to activate the countdown till the launch. positron will stay behind to launch the craft but you will have to set it then get into the ship. you will have 5 minutes to get into the life, up into the craft then you will have to jump from room to room to the front control room and click on a seat toget yourself in. if you are still standing up when it is launched, huge amounts of knockback will be caused on you and you will be stunned when you have finished loading.

once done you will now be on the surfice of a mereor where you have to make your way to a base where the rest of the villains will be situated. this map is in a loop so if you go far enough in one direction, you will end up on the other side of the map. you cannot use any travel powers in this area but due to the anti-gravity, you will have an inherit long jump which is not as powerful as superjump but is more powerful then combat jumping. on the way to the base there will be more missle turrets which are the same as the ones that protected the computer. if you get hit the a missle immense amounts of knockback are given and a slight chance for it to punchure the suit and defeat you instantly. the turrets onto have 1 hp and no defence against anything which makes it easier, but they are not close together so AoE's will not work against them.

once in the base, you will not have a space on like you did outside, so if you are somehow sent outside you will be instantly defeated. inside the base are nemesis, malta, banished pantheon, vhazilok and council. nemesis give a self-destruct pack to everybody so that when they are defeated, they explode. malta give everybody a sapper gun. banished pantheon give a shaman staff to everybody giving them all the ability to control earth and fire. the vhazilok give everybody the ability to ressurect allies and the council give everybody the ability to change into a warwolf when at low health. you objective is you destroy the base and everybody inside, including the leaders of each faction.

    the leaders are all level 50 AV's which will be hard to take out when they are alone, but they will all be together. they are;

doctor vhazilok. he has the extra ability of being able to heal and ressurect himself and others.

nosferatu. he has the added extras of being able to teleport foes to any place in the base he wants, including outside, but it is very inacurate and could end up teleporting one of his allies or himself.

nemesis. he has the power to release an atom ray which will instant defeat whoever it hits. this attack comes out right infront of him and willstop at a wall, he has a 99% resistence against all types of damage and is resistant against stun, hold, immobolise, sleep and knock/back/up/down.

general: general is an ex-hero who has battled all of the above AV's and managed to re-create them using his special powers. he has the power to control time and clone himself and other people right down to their DNA. his powers consist of superstrength, invulnerability, time control and resplication. with time control he can bring himself to full health, hold somebody within time and speed it up to teleport you to somewhere within the room you have or will be. with replication he can make a duplicate of you to fight you or make duplicates of himself which will all have to be taken out. he has relativly low hitpoints of an archvillain but can truely horrific to fight.

in this fight you will only have statesman and synapse (if either of them survived) to help you. it is advised for you to have as many people in your team as possible but the reward it great. once they are all defeated, you must all plant explosives in 5 places inside of the base, once done you have to get out of there by getting to a teleport which only one person can use at a time, statesman and synapse will go first then anybody else. each person takes 5 seconds to use the teleported and you only have 1:30 seonds to get out, if you are defeated before the time you will not complete the mission and will have to do it again. once out you have completed the task force!

the rewards are as follows: two more new powers, a chance to get a prize, a boost and a badge.

    powers!

    these are powerset specific special powers which i had said earlier. every single power is different and can have different effects against friend/foe, i will only post a few powerset special powers;

fire blast/blaster: fire hazard: you create 15 fireballs that spin around you, any foes that cone near you will be instantly blasted by the fireballs, one after another continuously. each fireball does supeior damage and cause a small AoE explosion, this is a toggle; recharge: very long; damage: supeior/annihilate

empathy/defender/controller: life swap: you release a burst of empathy which heals all alies within 100 meters but send out a counter empathy explosion from them that causes the amount healed on them to be dealt in energy damage to all foes nearby. this attack heals all of the hitpoints on an ally; recharge: very long; damage: low/annihilate

dark melee/scrapper: dark destruct: you channel all of you dark energy into a single punch which causes a large eruption of dark energy into the target. this power causes alot of damage to all foes within a wide cone infront of you. not only does this cause damage but it will also sap endurence from them into you restoring some or all of the endurence lost; recharge: very long; damage: annihilate

energy melee/tanker: discharge: you charge up your body with energy which causes all of your attacks damage to be boosted by 500% including your extreme damage attacks. this power lasts for 5 minutes, then for 10 seconds it goes up to 1000% damage then you explode causing immense damage to all nearby enemies but leaving you with only 10% of your health left; recharge: very very long; damage: annihilate

gravity control/controller: falling star: you cause the gravity at a certain place to become so strong that a small meteor becomes pulled down into the earth at that location. the meteor has smaller rocks that will cause high DoT to all enemies in the effected area, then the meteor hits causing an immense amount of smashing/fire damage and knockback to cause to all enemies within 500 meters, but when this is over you will be completely drained of endurence and will lose a little bit of influence to pay for the damage caused by the meteor; recharge: very very long: damage: annihilate

khelidians only get a single special attack which are transforming toggles.

khelidian: bulk nova form: you transform into a 24 foot high monster with two attacks where you fire a beam of concentrated pure energy in a cone infront of you causing annihilate damage and knockback and you also get a swipe attack where you bend over and hit all enemies in a wide short cone infront of you for extreme damage and high knockback. both attacks have a high recharge and the form has a high end cost. in about 20 seconds, i managed to get this rather disturbing picture of what i would hope it kinda looked like.

    the prize and boost!

the prize is this, well you can decide. bascially, once this mission is over you are given the oppurtunity to earn experience on your level 50 but not go up in levels, instead you will be put into a competition. the person with the highest amount of experience every first of every month will be given a prize or 10% of the experience earned to be given to another character that is over level 14, and to make it fair every month the experience will be put back to 0 for the level 50's so they can start again. there would be other prizes along with these that the devs can decide if this idea is thought about for future development. this competition is fair because they all must be level 50, they can all go to the same places and can all take on anything they want. for the boost, everyone who first finishes this tf is given 100k experience + 25% extra for every member of the team they had that was over the minimum of 5 for the last mission.

    the badge!

you will get the world saviour accolade badge which allows you to get the special powers. you will also get a general nobody badge if you took out more then 15% of general's hitpoints or held him for longer then 50 minutes.

i think that is it for this suggestion, any feedback?

oh and by any chance could either bridger or rockjaw give me any feedback on my collection? it would be an hour if you did

    nyaha!

new tanker secondary/scrapper primary; mallet (do not get mixed up with mullet) it would look something like the one this guy is holding, but made of metal.

smash: you hit your enemy with the top of your mallet like a spear, causing minor damage. this attack has a high chance to cause knockback and a low chance to stun; damage: minor; recharge: moderate

crush: you swing the mallet over you head and slam it down onto your enemy causing high damage and knockdown; damage: high; recharge: long

(for tanker) taunt: same as any taunt. (for scrapper) build up: same as any build up.

swing: you swing your mallet infront of you in a wide arc, causing moderate damage. this attack has a high chance of knockback; damage: moderate; recharge: moderate

(for a tanker) build up: same as any build up. (for scrapper) jawbreaker: you hit your enemy in the jaw making them fly into the air; damage: high; recharge: long

hammer throw: you spin around and throw your hammer, hitting everybody in a narrow cone. once the attack animation has finished however, you run over to where the hammer landed in order to retreive it, so be cautious to where you throw it. this attack has a high chance for knockback but only has moderate range; damage: high; recharge: very long

spin: this is a toggle power. you spin around continuously causing anything to come within melee range to be hit with large amounts of damage. while this toggle is on, you cannot move or be teleported. this attack has a 100% chance to cause knockback against all enemies accept for giant monsters and arch-villains; damage: high; recharge: very long

shockwave: you hit the ground with great force, sending out a shockwave knocking down all enemies within moderate range. this attack does little damage but will either knock down or stun your enemies; damage: minor; recharge: moderate

egg cracker: you jump into the air, bring the mallet over your head and hit your enemy on the head causing very high amounts of damage. this attack has a secondary effect of knocking out the enemy that you hit if they are still standing, while they are knocked out they are immobolised and cannot do anything. this attack also send out a smaller shockwave from the enemy you attacked if it hit, which causes moderate damage and has a high chance to stun the enemy; damage: extreme; recharge: very long

    so.. whaddaya think?
  16. CBeet

    fighting style?

what is your fighting style? ive worked out three main fighting styles which i have found to be used quite often (any more would be welcome).

suicidal: you jump into the middle of a group of +3's, just so you can max out fury, beat the crap out of them, then finish the last one with brawl just because you had full fury and 3 +3 SO's in it. then you wait for about 20 seconds while everyone that was watching were offering respites and the like, only to see you jump in a group that was exactly like the last but with only half your health "wow! look how much damage im doing!!!1!11"

power pummel: you go off and find a big group of -2/3's and only use brawl on them, get your fury to max, take them all out in one shot, then you go to a really big group of even levels and take them out nice and safely. once that has done, rest, repeat.

war machine: you team with other brutes/ranged fighter and attack the enemies very quickly. if theres more then one brute, they usually both go for the same person and build up fury at the same rate, making the killing faster and faster. if you with someone that can buff, they butt you till you are the most powerful, then you both attack at the same time. if your not with another brute/buffer/debuffer then you all attack at the same time.

im a suicide crossed with a war machine. what are you?
  17. the beach in mercy, do you mean the one where you get the chum badge? (i came up with it in the first place btw)

about the "stop moving! i want to kill you in 3 hits!" thing. if you use caltrops, damage will be dealt to them in criticals, making the AS useless (i think) so, the best way to do it is to have it on auto, teleport to them and then strike. not sure if it would work, but i believe it should.

    my collection

my brain was drained of ideas, but now its been plugged up! ive got an idea!

time control: i know this has been suggested many times, but i just wanted to post how i think it could be

paradox: you create a paradox, which causes the targetted enemy to be immobilised due to thinking the paradox through; damage: minor; recharge: short

timeline: you make a break in the timeline causing the targetted enemy to disappear from existence, then reappear between 10 seconds and 1 minute later when the timeline sorts itself out, but they are slightly stronger then before; recharge: long

time shift: you change time itself causing the targetted enemy to phase shift out of sinc with time. when they are like this, they cannot effect anything/one or be effected by anything/one; recharge: long

back in time: use this power on a fallen ally and their bosy will be taken back in time to a point where they are fit and healthy. this power revives an ally and gives them a speed/jump height boost and adds on 10% of their health for 30 seconds after being revived; recharge: very long

age: this power effects the targetted enemy and all enemies nearby. the effect is that they age expenentially, to the point that they are slow and weak. damage, defence and speed is reduced by 20% and they are left unable to jump; damage: minor; recharge: long

    timeline summon: you summon a being from throughout time to aid you in battle, each type of summon has a different type of strength and weakness;

t-rex; very high damage and is very fast, but has low defence against all damage types.

cowboys; you summon three at a time, each has a fast attack rate but low damage. they have some super reflexes powers, and also have a high chance for a critical hit with their gun.

tank: you summon a tank from the future, a tank has a giant pulse rifel which does extreme damage every hit. a tank has hover, so is very fast but can fly. they have moderate defence against all type of damage accept for psycic, but they have very low hitpoints.

duplicate: you summon an exact duplicate of yourself from exactly the same time as you. a duplicate does exactly the same thing as you do, so if you use a heal on someone, it also uses a heal on them, if you hold an enemy, they also hold the same enemy again. therefore, all powers used have double the effect.

    recharge: very long

backlash: this is a toggle power. while this power is active (it uses more endurence then you can recover without stamina) every power you use has double the effect, because you had gone back in time and captured the same power then used it twice against you enemy. hold hold longer, heals heal twice as much and damage is doubled; recharge: very long

time stop: you stop time for you and every ally within 50 meters of you. because time has stopped for them, they cannot move, effect others or be effects. this is a toggle which drains endurence faster then you can recover it. because you can effect anything and nothing can effect you, you are completely invulnerable against any type of attack, but you cannot heal/buff yourself while this is in effect. this power also has a 15% chance to effect enemies aswell by holding then untill 15 seconds after the power has worn off; recharge: very long
