  1. A great super-villain has to have a twisted reason for what they do or no reason at all. You are evil because, I dunno, a hero stole your girlfriend and you're now trying to kill all the heroes in hope that you'll get a girlfriend (Bad example, I know ), or that they do what they do because they think they should simply because they can.

For example, my recently deceased villain Spruk killed people because he thought that because he had powers, he had an authority over those weaker than him, and thus could do what he wanted to them. And my current main villain, Lord Darvek, kills/destroys because it's what he does, it's what he is, he kills because it's what he's there for, nothing more nothing less.

    IC rumours

"Hey, you hear about what happened on the Isles not long ago? Someone went grave robbing on our hunting grounds.."

"What? Did they take much? There was alot left after the war y'know, just right for the pickings."

"I hear only one body is missing, of some villain who died during the war. Oh what was it.. Sprank? Spork? Whoever it was they're gone now."

Conversation between a Vahzilok Reaper and Mortificator in the Pocket D villains bar around 6.20pm
  4. I've linked my chars together one way or another (Efranof is friends with Darvek, Darvek is Spruk's step father and Beet semi-caused Spruk's extra mutations). Others are acquaintances, unknown relatives or long lost friends.
  5. Perhaps a group of wealthy collectors could set this up and pull a few strings to get the ball moving. Their true plan would be that they are betting money on the hero/villain to get the selected items. The winner getting the money that was bet plus the items that were stolen for their own, personal collection.

Could go further to say it all started in a meeting where they starting discussing heroes and villains and got into an argument of who was the best, so had to prove who was right with a contest, all of whom involved have fans and bets on them for who is the best.
  6. Think there was a misunderstanding somewhere there, if not, sorry.

What I mean is, that if a hero manages to obtain all the items then the hero would receive the prize of saving the city from certain doom, but if a villain collects the items they get wealth and fame for being the one strong enough to get the items and pretty much throw Paragon into chaos. Heroes can take from villains and villains from heroes, it's just they both get different prizes for doing so.

Perhaps throw a money prize in for the heroes so that those who think they'll leave the saving to the big heroes but need the money will want to join in, that way I think everyone will have a reason to take part IC.
  7. I'm interested in this. I'm entering with my brute, Deadstreet, for the hunt! And up for grabs is Efranof's hat.

As for ideas, names for the main villain in charge and/or an actual char? Also, IC reasons for this to happen. For villains, perhaps they get to keep all the items plus the price for then on the black market, for heroes, they get the locations of several bombs placed in Paragon, which will explode if a villain gets the items first.

Hmm true, perhaps have it go up at half the speed and down at the same speed and only effect you by 50%?

Also, not sure if I already posted an idea like this but this is a fresh look I feel, Earth Blast. For Blasters, Defenders and Corruptors.

Dust: ST, minor DoT(lethal), chance for stun, very fast recharge. You shoot dust at an enemy in hope of stunning them.

Pillar: ST moderate damage(smashing), knockup, moderate recharge. You hit the ground with your foot, causing a pillar of stone to erupt under your targetted enemy.

Gravel: Cone moderate damage(lethal), moderate recharge. You hurl out tiny stones at high speed, hitting all enemies in a 90 degree angle.

Rumble: Location AoE moderate DoT(smashing), chance for knockdown, long recharge. You start a small but violent earthquake at a targetted location, knocking enemies to their feet and damaging them over time.

Hot Coals: Cone minor damage(fire), chance for confuse, moderate recharge. You call force a bed of coals infront of you, burning your enemies feet confusing them as they look for cool ground.

    Aim

Hurl Boulder: ST high damage(smashing), knockback -fly, moderate recharge. You pick up a boulder from within the ground and hurl it at your enemy.

Stone Blades: Cone high damage(lethal), knockback, long recharge. You hit the ground with your foot, sending forward a narrow cone of large stone blades from the ground, slicing and throwing enemies aside.

Quake: PBAoE superior damage(smashing), knockdown stun, long recharge, -recovery but does not drain all end. You jump into the air and slam your fists on the ground, causing an almighty bone breaking quake to erupt around you.

    Any and all comments welcome.

Alternative for Vigilance, the Defender inherit power, Protect.

The way Protect would work is every power you use which debuffs, buffs or heals will make a small bar rise, similar to fury. When the bar gets above 10% a click power, similar to Domination, will be available. You can click the power at any time, but the higher the bar is the better an effect the power will have. It's recharge is the same as Domination.

The power will give you a self buff while increasing the effectiveness of nearby player effectiveness. Each player needs to be in your team and within melee range for it to work. Think like a PBAoE Power Boost. At 10%, the power will boost effects by 10%, at 20% will boost by 20% and so on up to 100%. The bar will go up and down as fast as fury and toggles will gradually raise it by 1% every 10 seconds.

I think this will help Defenders very much, and give the sets others think are lacking an extra boost.

    All comments are appreciated.

    Brutes as Tanks

I see the brutes as scrappers, not the tanks but can if needed. I don't take taunt/taunt aura on brutes, but I always take the PBAoE attack for when it's needed. My main villains is a SS/Elec brute and can keep the aggro fine with just Foot Stomp, well, unless there's a trigger happy fire corrupter, but that's just because they do more damage (in the right circumstances).
  11. Not sure how this will help, but here's my build for Lord Darvek;

    Level 1: Sprint -- Run-I(A)
    Level 2: Rest -- RechRdx-I(A)
    Level 1: Fury

I know what you're thinking, why take and slot kick? It does more damage than Jab and when Hasten is on can make a continuous chains of Kick - Punch - Kick - Punch, plus it looks cool.

This build works well, Foot Stomp can grab the aggro well for fury so no LF. Currently level 38 and can survive well enough without the self heal, so by 41 should be practically unstoppable. Oh, and that's Multi Strike in Foot Stomp, it's cheap and effective.

Which is fine and dandy after level 35, getting to there with your end bar running out all the time isn't fun though
  16. I would go SS or Fire, my reasons;

    SS:
Pros: High damage, fast recharges for fury, mostly fast animations, okay end consumption, Rage, knockdown for juggling, Knockout Blow at level 8

Cons: Rage crashes, sometimes repetitive cycling, slow animation and high end drain on Knockout Blow

    Fire:

Pros: Good damage, good recharge, okay end consumption, good AoE

Cons: No Rage, no controlling secondary effects like stuns or knockdown

    And my thoughts of Stone..

    Pros: High damage, good control

Cons: High end use, high recharge, no rage.

    Hope this helps. (rage ftw)

Inspired by this thread: Time manipulation power pool/travel power, I'm not sure but I may have already suggested something similar.

Slow down: Single target debuff. -speed(30%) -recharge(10%) -tohit(2%), 90 second recharge, low accuracy

Speed up: Single target ally buff. +speed(30%) +recharge(10%), -tohit, 20 second recharge(2%)

Time warp (requires already having a power from the powerpool): Toggle, travel power self +speed, chance for teleport. When activated, you speed increases to levels higher than normal but lower than superspeed. Every 5 seconds, it applies an effect to you which gives a 20% chance to instantly teleport a short distance (40 foot) forward, low end cost.

Time displace (requires already having two powers from the powerpool): Single target hold(only effects minions/underlings, 6 second duration), -speed(40%) -recharge(15%), 20 second recharge, low accuracy.

    War Stories

(( This happened on the 1st of August around 5pm ))

Spruk and his gang searched the areas of Sharkhead for days, driving through any Rikti that tried to stop them. The sky was green and a horrid feeling came over Spruk as he looked around, the van spluttered and eventually, it stopped. Stepping out the van, Playge checked the engine. "Radiator's gone, we ain't getting any further."

Spruk groaned, gesturing for everyone to leave. They exited the van, checking the skies. A dropship made it's way towards them, constantly dropping bombs. The gang scattered, running for alleyways or buildings, all accept for Spruk. Spruk had enough, his eyes darkened and a green mist started spewing from his body. The ground around him was burning, dissolving, dying.

Spruk drew his guns, which were starting to melt from the intensity of the gas. He flew up, flying up at the ship with both guns aimed at it. Emptying the clips, Spruk put them back into their holsters then made a wild charge. The ship fired but Spruk flew aside and hit the ship. The hiss as Spruk's poison hit the ship's armour was loud. Spruk punched the hull of the ship, slowly burning his way in, but then the ship charged it's weapons up again, shooting Spruk at point blank range.

Spruk fell to the ground as Rikti started to teleport in, Spruk's gang charged in to help but they were too late. One of the Rikti soldiers raised his sword, then impaled Spruk through the chest. His screams filled the air, shortly being silenced as his life left him and his gang opened fire with everything they had.

    Spruk was dead.
