    Shield Assault

Since Shields are in I13 I thought I'd throw this out to the waters (I know it's been suggested before, but can't hurt to put up a new version of it in light of the new set). This is a Scrapper, Brute and Tanker melee set. Numbers below are based on a Scrapper Primary

Slam You slam your shield strait ahead into the enemy for Moderate damage and a Minor +Defence(all, 1%), fast recharge.

Defend You quickly flick your shield into the enemy to protect yourself from attacks for Minor damage and Minor +Defence(All, 1.5%) over 5 seconds, fast recharge.

Uppercut You swing the shield into the enemy's chin, hitting them into the air for Moderate damage, medium recharge.

    Build Up

Swing You swing your shield infront of you in an arc, hitting everyone within range for Moderate damage, slow recharge.

Challenge Single Target Taunt, animation plays of you hitting the front of your shield twice then pointing at the target.

Ram You ram your shield forward with enough force to knock your enemy over for High damage and Minor +Defence(All, 2%) over 5 seconds, slow recharge.

Deflect Blows You hit the enemies with the intention to slow their next attacks so you can easily block them, causing Minor damage and Moderate +Defence(Melee, 15%) over 10 seconds, slow recharge.

Trip You lower your shield and spin, tripping over enemies within melee range for Moderate damage, the extra beathing room also gives you a Minor +Defence(all, 3%) for 6 seconds, long recharge.
  3. The stealth in Cloaking Device alone will not give you full invisibility, I suggest getting Superspeed and CD for full combat invis and a quick getaway after toe-bombing. Trip Mine and Time Bomb do not break stealth when you put them down, but when they go off your stealth does drop making it a good idea to either run after bombing or follow-up with a cone/AoE.

As for AR, it is a good cone set (Flamethrower/Full Auto/Buckshot, all with good recharge) and iirc, Full Auto does more damage than Rain of Arrows, plus it has a chance to do a small crit against enemies. A good tactic with AR/Dev would be to set a Trip Mine around a corner, Flamethrower a group of enemies then lead them into the mine/s for easy xp or drop a Time Bomb in the middle of a group and, if you can time it right, fire a cone/AoE into them when it goes off as Time Bomb does the same amount of damage as a regular Blaster nuke.

The main weakness is that it's mostly Lethal damage which is resisted by a lot of enemies although shouldn't slow you down that much plus redraw times with the gun/mines and, if you choose to use them, Caltrops and Tazer. Another problem is the lack of Build Up or Aim in an AR/Dev combo.

    Hope that helped.
  4. I like it! Not sure about the Tier 9s though (Surely Spider 'Bombs' would explode, not use powers?) so maybe give the control set a modified Gun Drone instead with Burst and Snare Wire. As for the Assault set, the AoE Snipe from the AR Epic could be a little overpowered, would replace it with Flamethrower and replace Build Up with Targetting Drone (Maybe swap Ignite with Sniper Rifle as Ignite's damage with a control primary would be insane)

Only if it's an escort mission with BaB at one end with some kind of witty one-liner

I13 looks awesome. Heck, a brand new game in itself!
  6. For powersets I'd go either Kin/Rad or Son/Rad. As for the costume, maybe, as you say, a robotic 'suit' would work, where he's wearing what looks like a normal business suit with robotic hands/feet and a shiny, Shivan Blue helmet with (once L30) a blue glow around it. For the colour of the suit, can imagine it being brown/beige with a cream lapel.

Since I havn't got access to CoH atm I can't quickly make up a picture, but I'm sure it's for the better as it'll still be uniquely yours.
  7. Good day all, just a small contribution to the already huge list of Suggestions. A new Mastermind Primary, Knights.

    Knights:

L1, Crossbow Bolt: ST Minor Damage, fast recharge

    L1, Knights;
    T1: Slash, Brawl, Heavy Armour (+res Smashing(30%) Lethal (20%) Toxic (15%), -res Fire/Cold (15%))
    T2: Parry, Kick, Confront
    T3: Hack, Head Splitter

L2, Heavy Crossbow Bolt: Moderate damage, fast recharge

L6, Shine Armour: First Henchmen Upgrade

L8, Flaming Crossbow Bolt: High damage, fire DoT, very slow recharge/animation

    L12, Archers;
    T1: Aimed Shot, Brawl, Leather Vest (+def (ranged, 8%) +res (lethal, 15%))
    T2: Blazing Arrow, Ranged Shot
    T3: Rain of Arrows, Weave

    L18, Battlecry: PBAoE Henchmen +Def (17%) +damage (31%) +recharge (20%) +Runspeed (15%), very slow recharge

    L26, Dragon Slayer;
    T1: Hack, Slash, Dragon Hide (+res Smashing/Lethal/Fire/Cold(18%), +def Lethal/Fire (5%))
T2: Broad Fire Sword (High ST damage, fire DoT, slow recharge), Warmth
T3: Dragon Skullsplitter (Headsplitter with Fire DoT), Rise of the Phoenix

    L32, Sharpen: Second Henchmen Upgrade.
  8. Beet lives in a hidden bunker somewhere in the Terra Volta area.

Efranof doesn't officially live anywhere, but he has places to hide out in temporarily around Paragon and the Rogue Isles. Otherwise, he spends his time with friends or fighting villains.

Darvek and Spruk live about a mile off the coast of Sharkhead in their own 'mansion' on a secluded rock which on the outside looks like an overgrown shack with no signs of life.

Underthrow lives on Talos Island in an apartment. Storm Foot lives at the Steel Canyon University.
  9. Hmm...

    Free Running

Double Jump, auto, special: Gives you the ability to jump twice in mid-air

    Hops, auto, +jump (Hurdle clone)

    Dash, toggle, +run speed (50%), +jump speed/height (40%), +special (10% chance every 10 seconds to spontaneously teleport 20ft forwards and 2 ft into the air), 0.35 end/sec

    Free Spirit, auto, +recharge (7%), +run speed (10%), +def(all, 3%)

Would this be anything like you imagined?
  10. I demand shotgun/chainsaw Blasters NOW.

    I mean it.

    9) Carron Creeper (weakened version)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe tweaked so that instead of a click it's a PBAoE toggle ala Hot Feet from Fire Manipulation

And personally I don't think Spirit Tree would fit in a Blaster secondary unless it was changed to only effect the Blaster but buff Regeneration and Recovery, like a summonable Drain Psyche.

Other than that, a very good idea which shows there are still people out there with original suggestions
  13. I was just thinking this, a big Scrapper vs Brute rumble, but for the Arena. If everyone's up for it I'll sign up with my Brute.
  14. Every costume items of this kind (Gloves, boots, shoulders, ears, jacket sleeves, robotic arms, robe sleeves, trench coat sleeves) should have a left/right option, completely agree!
  15. Personally, I'd say go 2 Damage IOs, 1 Acc/Dam IO (any set level 30+ will do, doesn't have to be expensive) 2 Recharge IOs and 1 Endred IO. Every attack slotted like this would give you enough accuracy with FA, lots of recharge, end reduction and still a good amount of damage.

    New Dark Powers

All been asked for many times before, but it's still a yes!

    Dark Manipulation:

Midnight Grasp (Same as Scrapper version but with toned down damage, not too much though as it's a melee immob, not ranged)

    Smite (Same as Scrapper version)

    Death Shroud

    Shadow Maul (Same as Scrapper)

    Soul Drain (Same as Scrapper)

    Black Hole (Still mass Intangible)

Cloak of Darkness (Same as Scrapper)

    Dark Consumption (Same as Scrapper)

Twilight Punch (Superior damage, animation of Energy Transfer with a Gloom-like skull forming around the hand, -tohit, 20 second recharge, 10% chance for fear)

    Dark Assault:

    Dark Blast (Same as Defender)

    Smite (Same as Scrapper)

    Gloom (Same as Defender)

    Shadow Maul (Same as Scrapper)

    Soul Drain (Same as Scrapper)

    Moonbeam (Same as Defender)

    Life Drain (Same as Defender)

    Midnight Grasp (Same as Scrapper)

    Oppressive Gloom (Same as Scrapper)

    Dark Control:

Shadow Grasp: ST Immob, looks like Tenebrous Tentacles, moderate damage, -tohit

    Petrifying Gaze (Same as Defender)

    Tenebrous Tentacles (Same as Defender)

Deathly Mist: AoE -perception, -tohit, 10% chance for Fear, 10% chance for Confuse, 30 second recharge. (Similar to Fire Control's Smoke)

    Fearsome Stare (Same as Defender)

Howling Twilight: Mass Stun, smaller radius as other mass stuns, PBAoE heal from self (12% unenhanced), 180 second recharge, high accuracy, -tohit.

Black Hole: Mass hold, 8% chance for Intangible, 240 sec recharge, -tohit.

Netherworld Terror (Same as Spectral Terror with new look of all black/red/purple/blue)

Shadow Spirits: You summon three Shadow Spirits who follow you around as support. They all have low HP and constantly running Death Shroud and Oppressive Gloom, each one has a weak version of Heal Other and cannot heal each other, only you and nearby team-mates. Their basic AI is Defensive Follow and will work as if in the Mastermind's Bodyguard mode.

    *scuttles off into the shadows*
  17. Commander Beet: Daft Punk - Technologic
He's a robot from... Somewhere else, he's incredibly complicated and sentient, it just fits.

    Efranof: Hoosiers - Killer
'It's alright to scream, i'm screaming to
Why'd you think I do the things I do?
For shadows haunted me like ghosts
So I become what I feared the most
    I conduct fear like electricity
    A man-made monstrosity'
Efranof is a half human half fear demon -thing-, he doesn't particularly like it but he goes about his normal ways, which to some could be called villainous.
  18. CBeet

    New SG idea.

I'm interested, got a few chars with a layer of dust gathering who need new lifestyles
  19. Villains gain Infamy, so I think they should have a random chance to get an inf/pres boost just by defeating/killing whole spawns of enemies, as it publicly shows their brutality making them more infamous.

As to the original idea, I really like it! It'd liven up the game more and give a good reason to do a part of the game which is overlooked after level 15ish. Plus it'd put some extra life in Supergroups in terms of personal events and teamwork.

    Three thumbs up!
  20. Not sure if you remember me saying in-game, but I'd like to sign up with Commander Beet, he's found a loophole with his current organization and looking for a more active, worthwhile team. Level 50 Energy/Devices Blaster, has a military background before he came to Paragon/Earth aswell as great technical knowledge.
  21. And everyone forgets the Banes.

Bane Spiders have enough ST damage/buffs/debuffs to take out an EB but lack a little against large amounts of enemies (5 and above is when it gets tricky, but still doable). As said, Crab Spiders are really good at AoE and will wipe out just about anyone below a boss but they lack ST. EBs are doable but can take a while

Do have a glance at Bane Spiders at the very least, they aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be.
  22. Albert put down his drink and rose to his feet, walking towards the arena, smiling and waving to the cameras, "I wish Cassandra luck, this is for a good cause, after all." Despite his good word, many hadn't thought he mean it because of him being a wanted villain from the Rogue Isles. Despite this, he was taken to the virtual battleground, mentally preparing for the fight ahead.
  23. Usually either Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance for DPS chars (Blasters, Scrappers ect) then Nickelback and
Foo Fighters for support chars (Controllers, Masterminds ect)

Add in the occasional Avenged Sevenfold, Korn and Disturbed here and there and that's my basic epic fights/must-keep-everyone-alive soundtrack.
  24. What if you change the wakie for a Granite Tanker? Can't lie with a Granite Tank and it'd be difficult to take them out from AoEs alone. It's still open to griefing but there wouldn't be any teleport (Tank would be neutral, afterall), cannot fake having the Tank to get a point and it would slow them down (unless they have kins, however the other team could use slows) because of Granite's -speed.

It's sadly still open to people ASing or specifically attacking the tank to stop the competition, then there's the problem of using a player because then only one team could use powers on them to slow them down (immobs, -speed, intangibles) although using Warburg would fix that.

Just my bit of input on this.
  25. Think I'll be pushing back a plot I have in mind till this is out

It'll involve CoT, Arachnos and if possible an island in the middle of nowhere...
