  1. On top of most of the suggestions (Increasing Soldier and Widow health values, buffing the inherant and Call Reinforcements summoning Banes) I'd love to see Bane Spiders get Whirling Mace at the same time as Crowd Control, seeing as the Boss NPCs have it. The Bane armour upgrade could have an enhancable +hp number and/or increased damage resistance/additional positional defense to melee/AoE.
  2. Atlas to the Storm Palace anyone?
  3. Planning a Broadsword/Elec Scrapper. Elec's +Recharge combined with Broadsword's +Defense is working up for a very nice combo.

    Dark Armor Angst

Cloak of Darkness is a fun power to use, and you don't really need it on all the time. I've found it useful on my Katana/Dark Scrapper for stealthing up to melee range, turning it off and using Divine Avalanche for maximum survivability. I can imagine this tactic being useful for other combos with melee/PBAoE based powers (Dark/Ice Tank comes to mind with Ice Patch ).

    Dual Pistols

She just uses copies of the Pistol attacks from Thugs.
  6. Currently using this picture for my background.

    Maggots!
  7. Blaster Secondary animations (from Energy, Elec and maybe Ice) changed from punches to kicks. Rather than an Energy Punch, you do a Thunder Kick animation with a bright glowing leg/foot, or for Thunder Strike you do Eagle's Claw with electricity crackling from your legs (these could then be ported to the elemental melee sets where applicable).

Blast sets could have a default, left hand, right hand or both hands animation choice (maybe going as far as from the face or feet? Crane Kick animation with a Power Blast firing out of the foot anyone? ) or fired from a gun/bow (Fire/Traps Corruptor with a Flamethrower model, for instance).

Also being able to choose between one hand or two handed animations for melee weapon sets (no one handed Archery ), so no more wrist-breaking action for Broadsword, and maybe one-handed Claws ala Freddy Krueger.

Alternate models for Devices and Traps would be very much accepted, have some alternations such as Magic devices (power stone/rune on the ground Trip Mines), additional Mutations (throwing a lump of biomass like those Shadow Shard enemies for Web Grenade) ect.

Teleport: Throwing a smoke bomb to you feet and appearing in a cloud of smoke when you aimed. Shooting into the sky in a bolt of tintable lightning and striking back down.

Fly: Having the Flight emotes togglable to the power. Binding additional auras to your character when Flight is activated, so your character becomes surrounded by the smoke aura as if turning into a cloud, or becoming surrounded by flames like The Human Torch. If it'd be too intensive on systems, then let auras on the character be bindable to activate with powers, this way you could also have a Sunburst Glow when you use energy attacks, or be surrounded by electricity when you punch, not just when you toggle the power on.

Super Speed: Being able to have a colourable blur effect behind you instead of the glowing feet (without Winged Boots, as they only go with a costume once on a blue moon). Imprinted foot steps in the ground as you run. Two streaks of fire behind you from where your feet were (tintable), think Back to the Future. Floating just above the ground in the Hover animation would/could look awesome at Super Speed speeds.

Super Jump: Rather than having it look like normal jumping, how about more Incredible Hulk/Superman like jumps, where your limbs are moving around, as if to keep balance (there's already an animation in the game like this, but it doesn't trigger often, not sure what does make it go). Togglable ground cracks, like with Foot Stomp, when you land.

All I can think of right now..

    (( So, what's he find out? ))
(( It's a biochemical and contains near constantly mutating DNA, at it's base it's similar to Arsenic but the modifications done to it have made it a fully customised toxin, the DNA would have signs of a mutant. ))

On the Rogue Isles, the villain Spruk was still watching his live feed of the chaos in Kings Row. His camera man sticking near groups of news teams near the carnage so he isn't caught, but his occasional grin and chuckle when something bad happens may single him out from the rest.
  9. I hear that if you kill the other one, your post count doubles.
  10. (( It's a part of my villain's plot(line) so I guess I'm running it, but sure you can go ahead and play it out to your heart's content. Looking forward to it ))
  11. (( Wow, quite suprised at the popularity of this thread now. The story is meant to be a recap of an event which happened on the EU server Union when Kings Row was chemically attacked, this is the first in a series (check Steal Canyon for the second) and was made back in June. You're all free to carry on with it, of course

    Rebel:
A majority of the zone is covered, mostly around the residentual areas and the exits are all open. The gas is corrosive to plastics and common/softer metals so some makes of gas masks would only last a short about of time. The gas itself is meant to cause respiratry and heart spasms and failure, regenerators would be able to resist it but due to the origin of the poison it could eventually overpower the regeneration, depending on how powerful the healing factor is. ))
  12. Hi I'm Beet and I'm A Scrr.. A Scrrrah.. A.. A Scraarp.. *foams at mouth* MUST HIT THINGS! BUUURN, RIP, REND, CUT!

    *ahem*

I have two 50 Scrappers, one's Katana/DA, the other's Fire/Fire. I also have a MA/SR, BS/Shield and Dark/WP who're getting there. I like to hit things 'till they stop moving, prefferably lots of moving things which fight back untill they go squish. I enjoy number crunching, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it on my characters so mostly give advice to/make builds for others. In my opinion, a good fight on a Scrapper ends with your health in the red and nothing else standing on the map, where's the fun in being invincible?

I also enjoy Brutes, impossible odds and long walks on the beach.
  13. I've played around in Mids a few times and managed to make some builds with over 150hp/sec with 10 enemies using Willpower Tanks (usually /Ice or /Dark), but unsure what results could be obtained with Scrappers and Brutes. Here's a build if you'd like to check it;

If you don't have Mids or can't be bothered to copy/paste, the regen's at 815% with one enemy, or 109.3hp/sec. Hitpoints are capped thanks to Accolades and I've just about squeezed every bonus possible through IOs into it, no purples. With 10 enemies nearby, regen's at 1271%, or 170.4hp/sec, it is a Willpower/Dark Tanker and, imo, wouldn't be gimped to play.
  14. Spruk had escaped, but only just. He was sloppy with his venture into Paragon.. But he did get to plant some more bombs, at the loss of his favorite weapons, but he'll just have to find them after the plan is finished.

    Maybe.

By the morning, he was back on the Isles, with his latest hostage to keep him company. He'd already broken her, beaten her senseless, poisoned her to the brink of death.. But he kept her alive, to feel every second of it, it's the least he could do.

But it wasn't enough, he wanted more, needed more. Sure, he's killed Heroes before, but they were just cannon fodder, a passing fling to him. Spruk sat down on a chair to think, could he go back to Paragon? Would it be too risky? Could he get his guns back at the same time? Who would he take, and how?

The broken Lucy stirred, reminding Spruk of his favorite passtime. He stood and picked up the chair, walking towards his stress relief. "Good morning kids! Do you know what time it is?" He grinned after saying those words, the chair poised above his head to strike.

    -----------------------

The outbreak in Paragon took a turn for the peculiar as those infected started flogging for alleyways, sewers and any retreats they can. Those making it would disappear among the scum, presumably killed by the villainy who dwell beneath the city.

    Katana/DA

My Scrapper's 50 now (how suprising ) and it is a powerful combo, very fun in large groups with the mez and AoEs (went Dark Mastery), even better with speed boost. Don't play him much nowadays due to him being, well, boring to play, much prefer my Fire/Fire.
  16. On the Isles..

Spruk was busy, hunched over his work table with bomb parts spread out, ready to be put together. He heard the ruckuss of some of his gang behind him, watching the television, the fake laughter, swigging of beer, creaking wood.. Creaking wood? He turned to look around the room, "Is she here unannounced?" he thought to himself.

There was noone there but his lackies, must have been the wind. Sighing he reached to his table, picking up a cordless power drill and making his way slowly down the hall. A chill fell down his spine, causing his gaze to move to the wall, a feeling of deja-vu taking him, but he carried on to the holding room.

Spruk looked down to the captive hero Efranof, revving the power drill, "Wakey wakey you ****ing goth.. Hey, I'm talking to you!" He plugned the drill down into the illusion's chest, going straight through to the table. Feelings of shock and anger took him, he threw the drill behind him towards Catz, but she wasn't there either.

Moving his hands through the Ef light duplicate to double check, he screamed out as a potent knockout gas shot from his body, "THEY'RE GONE! FIND THEM, FIND WHOEVER DID THIS!"

Having woken up the thugs who weren't immune to his basic drugs, Spruk was called over to the front door, some of his minor henchmen holding up the drugged heroine. "Put her on the slab and get out, come back tomorrow, I'll have a body for you to dispose of." They dragged her over to the bloodied table as Spruk headed to a weapon bin, taking out a machete and baseball bat.

In Galaxy City, a hired goon with more bullets than brains was setting up waiting for his first real target. This is it, first step to big money he thought as he fumbled with the cheap rifle, quickly remembering that the scope goes on the other way around, when his clothes burst into flame.

He dropped to the ground and rolled, trying to put it out, then found out it was a bad idea when he found himself over the edge and into a dumpster. Trying to get out but repeatedly slipping on the rubbish and finding himself caught, he panicked as his target, Red Commissar, uncloaked and looked at him.

"Comrade. Lets talk business.." The masked figure said. All he could do was stutter the reply "I I I I I uh oh G-God don't hurt me!"

    -----------------------

The situation in Steel was starting to become contained, some of the first infected slowly regaining their humanity, but more were being attacked and infected. Reports in Talos were quickly seen to and contained, but Independence Port and Atlas were still under threat.
  17. Dull Pain, prefferably perma
    Absorb Pain
    Mesmerize

    I have my reasons
  18. 1am, Steel Canyon, 6th July

Very few were out that night, so why it would happen then is a mystery. Around Steel Canyon, trash cans, mail boxes and broken street lights made a light hissing sound for 60 seconds which, to the few drunk civilians and villains, wouldn't have raised suspicion, nor kept in their memory for long.

The mysterious gas rose around the buildings, slipping in through windows onto the sleeping masses, it's effects unseen and unknown.

Untill the next morning. Growls of anger slowly littered the streets, screams of fear and pain rang in the air as those who had been infected by the toxin attacked others in the street, enraged by the drugs in their system, all other emotions numbed, all feelings of pain subsided, and it was slowly spreading to other areas as reports came in from Talos, Independence Port and Atlas.

On the Isles, Spruk sat at his television, watching some of the carnage on the streets of Steel. His cameraman blending in with a small group of news teams being protected by PPD. A growl occurs off camera, it swings around to see what it was, just catching a glimpse of one of the PPD officers blasting the head of another cameraman with his shotgun, the camera quickly turns off.

In the background, one of Spruk's captives began to wake up, hearing the screams from the television. "Aah, you're up eh? You look tired, maybe you need something to make you alert.." He reached for his scalpel, casually walking over to the victim.

(( The effects of the gas would've kicked in by about 8am, calls to the PPD and Longbow by 9. It's effects are similar to a zombie virus, increasing aggressiveness and taking away rational thought, it can be transferred by bodily fluids (blood, saliva ect) or open wounds. The toxin will be in their blood, so scientists feel free to try and take a sample to try and get a cure. ))
  19. Sounds like a good idea, should be made common and easy to make/fund though, otherwise you might be spending 5+ million on the auction for a costume change only costing 1 or 2 million, or using multi-million salvage to make it
  20. On the Isles, Spruk sat infront of his TV with a crude receiver and communicator attached to an elaborate recorder. He wired it up to the television and relaxed, taking a small microphone and talking into it.

    "Show me what you got."

With that a vision of destruction and anarchy appeared on the Television, a live feed from Paragon City with Spruk on the front seat, popcorn in one hand, microphone in the other. "Any Heroes in sight?" The imagine flickers and moves violently as the unseen recorder sprints down the road, brief shots of Heroes rushing around the scene come on, one of them gets caught in the gas. "Close up! Close up!" A look of glee overcame the villain as the cameraman followed out his orders.

The poisonous clouds were slowly dissipating, thinning out in the air but still evident, spreading along the winds like a feather made of glass. Those caught in the weaker gas were not as lucky as those in the initial attack, some taking hours to finally meet their maker.
  21. Okay, got some crazy thoughts here so gonna just babble at what is currently 2am (when I started typing, wonder what time I'll post this?).

This may seem very crazy, but I'll say it anyway. First off, I seem to remember a Dev post or interview or something which explained that the Devs were thinking of taking down the War Walls, or it was something they may have been planning.. Don't quote me on that, but if anyone else can find a source that'd be awesome.

Secondly, it was revealed recently that rather than revamp zones the team would rather make new ones, so that would put out the idea of the War Walls being taken down. In light of there being enough space for a third option to start at on the character creation screen, would it not be possible for it to go to whichever reality Going Rogue is set in as a neutral start, and couldn't it also be possible that it may be a Paragon City without the boundries?

I know, crazy, but lets look at some other possible evidence which is likely the late night talking.. The CoH website revamp brought upon a background which depicts a high-resolution Atlas Park with a horizon and no War Walls (Link), which could suggest opened up zones. Similar, in the Going Rogue trailer it was be seen on a computer screen or through a window a city that looks very clean and very nice with, again, no boundries or giant blue glowing walls in the background. To me, it also looks like an alternate Atlas Park.

What if, in this alternate reality, the Rikti hadn't invaded and thus all the zones are pretty much in one piece (no Hazard Zones) and therefore the War Walls were never built. This would be a great oppertunity to test out what the development team can do and what can be done by the engine, imagine the whole of Paragon City in it's entirety and without restrictions.

Now, obviously without the Rikti there'd need to be a natural enemy force on that world. If it is Praetoria, then presumably there wouldn't be a 5th Column/Council/Nemesis as they'd be taken out with lethal force, but what about the next big thing/jello blob..?

    I'll leave this to simmer.
  22. From the sewers, groups of Lost and Vahzilok swarmed to check out the commotion and to make the most they could of the scene. On the streets, Hellions and Skulls were battling with eachother, fighting over stolen goods. Clockwork were starting to scatter, grabbing what they could using the toxic screen for cover.

Squads of PPD started to arrive from Galaxy City and Independence Port as the Kings Row station had become enveloped with gas, trapping the officers inside. With a riot forming on the streets with stampedes of panicking citizens, chaos was running foul in Kings Row.
  23. 10:30 PM, Kings Row, 29th June

A lone Lost member was near the end of sifting duties in the bins near the Police station. A meal tonight would help him greatly for the following morning, he had been chosen to preach to passers by for the day. Banana peel.. Crisp packet.. Beer bottle.. Jackpot! The homeless man lifted an old pizza box from the bottom of the trash can with what looked like pizza crusts and an old slice.

When he was greeted by a crude explosive strapped to some bottles of green liquid, he barely had enough time to react to the quick beeping sound it made. The blast left no trace of who had been there, but the thick green fog and deafening rumble was a telltale sign for people to run, so they did.

Throughout Kings Row, echoes of multiple explosives rumbled, each one having been cleverly disguised and hidden. People tried to run, but were stopped dead as their lungs collapsed and body spasmed uncontrollably as the poisons in the air took effect.

Heroes from around the ciy were called, but similarly Villains saw an oppertunity and started pouring into the streets, a riot to soon start as they plunder houses and shops alike.

On the Rogue Isles, the villain Spruk had just left Pocket D. Disposing of the detonator, he catched a lift back to his home, hoping to hear of the chaos caused by this first attack.

(( This is open RP, anyone who may be in Kings at the time or would react to such an attack with haste are more than welcome. The gas is poisonous to most organic beings, killing any in the radius within seconds and is easily identifiable by a thick green fog, gas masks will protect you but not for long, regenerative powers will have a similar effect to a gas mask, the more powerful the regeneration the longer they would be safe. ))
